Hi Oooggs - Happy Birthday to J and E!!!

Read thread earlier but didnt post cos D feeding and now forgotten everything I read

Weather pants here too, very wet and windy. D has just bf for an hour, eyes were closed but still sucking furiously. In the end I decided that was enough so prised him off and took him up to bed, has been shouting a little bit but seems to have gone quiet now

DC had school disco today, N was very sweet and all upset when I said it was at school, he said he thought it was a proper party! I explained it was just in the school hall and nobody's birthday so no presents. As we were leaving he picked up his book bag to take then seemed very pleased when I said he didnt need it! But they were completely hyper this afternoon, racing round like complete loons! Until their blindfold game went a bit wrong and Nathan walked full pelt smack into the doorframe BIG bruise on his forehead

Had a text from house swap people saying they've talked about it more and are 100% sure they want my house which good. I said I was 90% sure, just need to explore the town and visit school but TBH it would have to be pretty bad for me to decide against it and I dont think it is.

D still whinging/shouting intermittently

Drinking bottle of beer atm and just off to put some wine in the fridge for when its finished!

elkiedee · 29/03/2008 20:42

Happy birthday Jack and Erin

oooggs · 29/03/2008 20:48

cheers guys

pesha you go girl I have had a glass of wine but am too tired for anymore - and we loose an hour tonight - as if we can afford to loose an hour we get little sleep as it is

StealthPolarBear · 29/03/2008 21:42

I know, not looking forward to getting T to bed tomorrow! PLus he's going to start sleeping later in the mornings - just as I go back to work, great!
Well, if that's all I've got to moan about, life must be OK
Pesha when are you planning to visit the school?

runnyhabbit · 29/03/2008 21:43

Happy Birthday Erin & Jack

Had forgotten about the clocks.Arse.

Please tell me not to spoil the boys. After this weeks events, I am fighting a really big urge to buy them loads of stuff.

StealthPolarBear · 29/03/2008 21:44

Well maybe justa little bit runny - who could blame you??
ANd then back to strict mummy ways

NorthernLurker · 29/03/2008 22:10

tbh runny - I would buy them something - if you can afford it and if it will make you feel better. You have all been through a horrible experience. If getting your lads - who have both been so brave - a new t-shirt or a new toy makes any of you feel just that bit more relaxed and 'normal' then it's money well spent!

You should definately be spoiling you as well - some nice bath stuff? I like Molton Brown stuff - I get it for birthdays and Christmas and make it last!

StealthPolarBear · 29/03/2008 22:13

well it's unanimous so far runny. Get them an April Fool's present!

Doobydoo · 29/03/2008 22:16

Dp starts new job Tues.New boss mad as a box of frogs,so should be interesting.
Our car has broken so I will be confined to barracks for a couple of weeks[eeek]
Huge electric bill[they had estimated the other 2]feelas I budgeted a certain amount and didn't notice the others were estimates. Also phone bill and oil bill and now sodding car and dp had to renew his passport.I find it damn difficult[impossible]to keep on top of finances.
Hope all are well.
Goodnightx

Eddas · 30/03/2008 07:37

Pesha · 30/03/2008 08:56

Eddas, I hate it when they get up early, I am so not a morning person!

No idea why I'm up now in fact considering I didnt go to bed til...um... half 3 new time Chatting on phone to friend all night again!

I'm tired and possibly still slightly drunk!

Considering having J back just so that he can start sharing getting up on weekends again!! Although actually I should have a child free weekend next week which would be even better so maybe not!!

CaptainDippy · 30/03/2008 09:04

Morning - clock change has totally thrown me Girls got up at "8" ish now a mad rush to get to church ...... DH still in bed. He is not well at all Horrendeous migrane that came on yesterday - has been waking up on and off all night, sweating and crying and asking for pain killers and drinks He is supposed to be going off on a course this pm - eeeeek!

elkiedee · 30/03/2008 09:56

Morning all

Eddas, sorry to hear you were disturbed so early.

Pesha, I need to stop staying up too late too, but I'm glad you and your friend were able to keep each other company, I'm sure you need that at the moment.

Eddas · 30/03/2008 09:57

Pesha, i'm not a morning person at all either. I know that if I haven't had enough sleep it means i'm in for a crap day as I am a moody bitch without sleep at least I know though

CD, hope you managed to get the girls sorted and off to church in time. Hope dh feels better soon

DH is still asleep but i'm making him a cuppa so he should be up soon

Going to see if I can get into town by myself today as I need to do some bits and I really can't be bothered with dc's in tow. Andd need to do them this week since it's half term for the 2 weeks after that and I can't take dd shopping.

StealthPolarBear · 30/03/2008 10:09

hi everyone
Hope your DH is better later today Dippy, how long do his migraines usually last?
we have had an incredibly long lie in, even given the clock change! Not sure whether that's a good thing or a bad thing...

mamiguay · 30/03/2008 10:12

morning! lovely day here and even more so for the fact that dh is taking ds to see MIL for lunch and I am FREEEEEE. FREEEEEE!!!!!! Will probably do something thrilling like clean the terrace but I will be A.L.O.N.E

Can I ask if no one got why the wedding invitation I posted about yesterday was good? I told my parents about it and they did say 'ha ha yes very good' but not very convincingly. And then I realised it might be a language thing, because Spouse in spanish is 'esposa' and the word for handcuffs is the same 'esposas' so they're going to get married, hence the hands chained (in handcuffs/spouses). oh forget it, I give up

elkiedee · 30/03/2008 10:16

Maveta, I wouldn't have understood that clever piece of wordplay either, but it shows that you've learned the language much better than your mum and dad. Interesting that the words are so alike in Spanish.

mamiguay · 30/03/2008 10:24

lol my parents barely speak a word although my dad is very game to try and my mum threatens that she understands when dh and I talk but she SO doesn't

It just took ages to dawn on me that the joke was only funny in spanish and that actually you must have all been like

runnyhabbit · 30/03/2008 11:44

Morning

The weather here is beeyootiful So it should, after the clocks changing.

So, the consensus is spoiling all round. My mum rang yesterday morning and asked if I was having my hair cut, which I thought was a bit random, until she reminded me that the hairdresser was coming at 9am (we have the same mobile hairdresser, who is fab) So I think my haircut might count as my treat
Have seen a few bits which I was going to get for the boys birthdays, but I think they'll have this week. Nothing expensive, just things I know they'll like.

Tbh, the reality of what's happened this week really hit home yesterday. I must have been on autopilot. And I finally managed to read through all your messages, which brought a very large lump to my throat (in a nice way, iyswim)

The most important thing is that we're all home, and W is getting better.

Have a nice day all
x

cazboldy · 30/03/2008 13:07

so glad to hear it Runny

I know it took ages for me to feel anywhere near normal after ds2 was ill. I don't think I slept properly for about a month! I didn't sleep at all for 4 days, and only then for an hour or so if dh or my mum promised to watch him like a hawk we had come so close to losing him, and I was terrified

we had always co slept, but think this was one of the reasons he was in our bed until he was 4!

The funny thing is that even though we now have Charlie and Molly, he is still like my baby! He is a real Mummy's boy.....

Dippy, hope your dh feels better soon.

I have got the period from hell.....I am in pain and have got clots and am bleeding so heavily (sorry if tmi )don't know what happened last month, but am certainly making up for it now!

Doobydoo · 30/03/2008 13:14

So pleased you are all home Runny
Poor you cazboldly that is horrid for you.
Hop your dh's migraine clears up sooner than later CaptainDippy...they are hideous.Your poor dh.
Have a lovely Sunday all

mamiguay · 30/03/2008 13:28

aww runny, i'm just so glad you are all home and i agree with everyone that some spoiling is exactly what ALL of you need. Hope you enjoy, am sure the boys will! You are still coming out next month, right? Well, May. Really looking forward to meeting up if you have time.

CD hope dh is feeling better soon. sorry i forgot to mention it in my last post

it is so lovely here today, the boys are away and the house is so quiet this never happens. Am using a water pressure gun thing I borrowed from my parents to clean the tiles on the terrace.. it's quite fun in a geeky way just having a bite to eat for lunch and then back to it. Am in shorts and vest trying to get some sun on my scarily pasty white skin.

mamiguay · 30/03/2008 18:06

wow I take it everyone has been out and about? Hopefully having a lovely time all of you. I finished cleaning the terrace and it looks great but rather stupidly got very burnt on my shoulders in an attractive combination of tan lines from a vest over a racer back bra of the kind that I'll probably not being able to get rid of all summer and I am normally so careful with the sun, serves me right.

Off to the cinema soon, mum coming to visit and can't wait to sit in front of a screen for 2 straight hours without having to get up and make dinner/change a nappy/ read a book etc etc (well, you all know...)

mamiguay · 30/03/2008 18:06

that'll be babysit, mum coming to babysit, not visit..

Pesha · 30/03/2008 18:37

Lol Mamiguay, I was thinking how rude, her mother comes to visit and shes gonna bugger off out to the cinema

Re the wedding invite, at first I thought it was just a twist on the ball and chain thing, your explanation of the word play makes it much funnier!!

I did a year of Spanish at school but dont think we were taught what handcuffs were! My spanish now is limited to counting to 29 (cant remember 30, 40 etc), greetings and some asking directions. For some reason the thing I remember best is 'hay un barra por aqui por favor' (although I've probably spelt that all wrong), cant think why Although unfortunately I'm not sure I can remember enough to follow the directions! What is 'point me in the direction of the bar?'!!
