Pesha · 27/03/2008 20:39

Hi all

HAppy Birtthday to all the birthday babies!!!!!

(Cant remember all and dont want to miss someone out Should have copied and pasted someone else's list! )

ECA - so so sorry to hear about your friend Am thinking of you and yours and her family too

SPB - my bin collection came today which is a day late due to bank holiday and recycling a day late too.

Have been to look at a possible house swap. House is in Bruton which is quite a nice, small town. Has 3 private schools there and the primary school has a very good ofsted report, much better than the school the dc are at now. Kitchen with space at one end for a table and chairs which I like although then no seperate dining room but dont mind that. Lounge bigger and 2 double bedrooms bigger. Little bedroom possibly slightly longer and narrower but ok I think. Overall the house is bigger and more spacious, specially living room which very good. Only downside is not much garden. There is a patio area out back that dc can ride bikes on and small bit of garden out front but not much. There is a patch of green next to the house that I think a few local kids play football on which could be quite nice for my dc, nothing like that where I am now. Is also much closer to where J works and will be living. So its more space, better schools and slightly more rural location vs garden really. Why cant I find a house that ticks all my boxes
Woman coming to look at my house tomorrow but seems keen to move back here, comes from this area and has family living in next street so looking good so far. If she likes it think we might have to go back and have a walk around the town to get more of a feel for it and visit the school before making a decision. My step dad went to the boy's school there so going to give him a ring now.

Eddas · 27/03/2008 20:47

evening,

eca, sorry to hear about your friend. Thinking of you all

RH, so pleased w is on the mend

Happy birthday tianna, orla, zed, lola and daniel

pesha, sounds promising. I think with a house move there has to be a compromise unless of course you've just won the lottery(I wish) When we were looking at houses we did a list of what we wanted and numbered them in order of importance. then worked out which house had the top priorities IYSWIM. Number one on my list was the area, which included schools.

Maveta · 27/03/2008 20:56

evening all, don't have much time tonight, just wanted to send some more thoughts to eca and also get well soon wishes to W.

Some sad, though not entirely unexpected or untimely, news over here too today. One of our beloved family cats died at the ripe old age of 19 years today. We've had him since I was 11 and he was a gentle, timid and very sweet soul. Rest peacefully M.

WO - sorry your boss is still determined to get it his way as long as he can, hope it gets sorted. Actually your advice did help. I think we confuse things by sometimes picking him up, other times not, I try and ssshh and pat him but dh likes to sing to him and cuddle. I don't think we know how to reconcile all of these differences, it's so hard! and very complicated by the fact that he is teething at the moment as well. Siiigh. Dh and I have decided that before we go to bed tonight we have to have a clear plan of action that both of us are going to stick to. Wish us luck!

SPB good luck to you too!

And now I'm off to spend time with dh.. SPB am that you might be getting broody!!

Eddas · 27/03/2008 21:06

maveta, just a thought, but would it help if one of you took over bedtime until he's in a routine and can teach the other one. I know with dd that I put her to bed most nights, unless I was out. I think you automatically do the same thing then so less confusion. I know it's not always possible and obviously if he's up at night that may not work. I know you probably want to share the load but it may be a way of getting the routine you want

WestCountryLass · 27/03/2008 21:17

Eca, so sorry to hear about your friend, what a shock for you, thinking of you at this very sad time

Sexonlegs · 27/03/2008 21:24

Hi lovelies, hope you are all well.

Eca, have sent you an email x

Runny, so pleased to hear that W is on the mend. Thinking of you all.

Happy Birthday to all the gorgeous 1 year olds

All ok here.

liath · 27/03/2008 22:03

Evening everyone!

Am back from holiday, feeling very relaxed. Not sure how long that will last .

Have tried to skim read & catch up.

Eca, so sorry to hear about your friend . Thinking of you.

Runny, I'm so glad W is on the mend, it must have been horrible - hope you're getting some TLC yourself. It's no fun seeing your baby ill and on drips etc . I'm sure he'll be full of beans again soon.

Oooggs, great news about the school place.

WO, your boss sounds like he is being such a git. Really not what you need on top of C starting nursery etc, I really hope you manage to get the flexible working sorted.

Hi to everyone - sorry about the various crap nights, poorly babies, broken noses etc!!!

I'm very chuffed as DH got his job so that means we can stay put in Edinburgh for the forseeable future! A huge relief. DH is so happy he even said he might think about having another baby.........!!!!!!!!

oooggs · 27/03/2008 22:06

liath - another one glad you had a good time

weeonion · 27/03/2008 22:29

oh liath - another one!! congrats to dh - it must be easier to have a settled time ahead, at least job and location wise - who knows when bubba 3 will arrive though!
maveta - i think eddas's idea of having one person doing the settling is a really good one. wish we had thought of that. i agree that a clear way of doing bed times and comforting is a good one, even though one of you would bear the brunt for a while. i know i find it easier to settle C - bless poor dh - in the past i have went to check he is ok with her as her cries were not lessening, only to find all 6foot4 of him looming over the cot dancing and waving his arms manically. as if that woudl settle her! good luck for tonight and agreeing a plan. x
ange - that buggy and pram is so cute! love it and now rethinking who has been asking what to get C! a potential convey of april thread babies with the same buggy!

pesha - good luck with the house. it sounds great in many ways. have the kids seen it yet?

C was ok at nursery today but would not take a bottle, eat any food or have any naps so i am not sure if ok is actually the right description!! it felt all wrong without her today. i didnt know what to do with myself! spent time shopping for her naming day which we are having instead of a birthday party. Ceremony written, venue booked, food arranged, cake designed and ordered, bubbly bought in, balloon bunches ordered, table decorations made and photo slide chosen. all seems to be in hand but as this will be the first time dps family and mone have met - who nows what will happen on the day!

elkiedee · 27/03/2008 22:32

Eca, really sad to hear about your friend.

elkiedee · 27/03/2008 22:33

Happy birthdays to Orla, Zed, Lola, Tianna and Mavornia's Daniel.

elkiedee · 27/03/2008 22:44

Gosh, suddenly several people are thinking about trying for another baby! How exciting. I went to a leaving do today and someone I liaised with a lot in our client dept has also just returned from maternity leave, she had her ds in the same hospital as I had D in just over a year ago so we were swapping experiences.

WO, how mean of your boss. Is there anything to be gained from going back to those who upheld your appeal and pointing out this isn't in the spirit of things? Hope C settles in at nursery.

It seems there are people getting to know D who don't know us, two people came up and greeted him by name as dp was bringing him home from CM's (less than 5 mins walk away!)

CaptainDippy · 27/03/2008 22:56

Tiiiired .......

Night guys!

oooggs · 28/03/2008 08:04

Good Morning and how is my birth buddy this morning???????? well it was a year ago today that I received that exciting text from Mammyjo and was delighted to tell you all of their good news so............

HAPPY 1st BIRTHDAY FFION*

oooggs · 28/03/2008 08:12

right then --- didn't want to spoil the birthday wishes, but last night with E was crap - but she is normally good so not too bothered just tired

Weeonion - yes I had 'they did really well' I was in the next room they cried between them for over an hour (the whole time they were there) so maybe the nursery perseption of doing well/they were good is different to ours it can only get better (well it surelt can't get worse) and I hope they all settle soon. We need some nursery established nursery babies to tell our lot that it isn't that bad

Pesha - house sounds good, but whos going to meet me for coffee when I venture up to 'the village'?

StealthPolarBear · 28/03/2008 08:12

HAPPY BIRTHDAY FFION

StealthPolarBear · 28/03/2008 08:14
