Morning! Sorry to hear all the bubs are finding settling in hard, N starts in a few weeks. Am so so so glad I don't have to be there

Thanks for the suggestions. I do actually do the night routine with N 90% of the time anyway because dh is at night school 6-10pm and out on saturday evenings (nice life hey? ) so it only falls to him on sundays. Getting him to sleep normally isn't the problem, we have a great routine of dinner, bath, quiet play for a few minutes if there's time, feed, stories on my lap in the rocker in the bedroom, then cuddles and a song and into his cot (awake but quiet and about to sleep). 95% of the time he goes down without any fuss at all.

The problem comes when he wakes up at 11pm, or 1am or whatever and won't go back down. Anyway, last night was AMAZING and he slept 8.30pm-7.30am with a quick feed and back to his cot at 4am. go figure.

Had a quick feel yesterday and he does seem to have very bumpy gums so might have even more teeth coming through than we thought. Paciencia (our watchword these days)

mamiguay · 28/03/2008 09:53

oops! And HAPPY BIRTHDAY FFION!

RANT ALERT!

my boss is such a W%$£$%&^%&% sometimes she just expects me to be 100% available 100% of the time even when she is only paying me 50% i.e on my days off still emails and calls and expects me to do things. Which I nearly always do without a problem.

Well yesterday I was having A Very Bad Day and didn't even turn on my work mob. til later on. I noticed a missed call from her from earlier but she hadn't called back so I just assumed it wasn't urgent. Cue email when I get in today sent last night asking why I have 'started disappearing' , something needs done urgently blah blah blah.

mamiguay · 28/03/2008 09:54

oh yeah, I've changed my name felt it was about time..

Bramshott · 28/03/2008 10:04

Happy Birthday Ffion! Is it just Ffion today? Sorry I missed Daniel yesterday . Do we have a birthday every day until early May now? There's an excuse for a drink every day if ever I heard one!

O had a nice little 'party' yesterday with 3 of her friends, and Niamh, and balloons she kept trying to eat. She got some lovely presents, and who knows, may actually be allowed (by N) to play with some of them! Injections today though

Mamiguay (love the new name!) - grr to your boss! I work for some people like that - they text me regularly on a Friday saying things like "why haven't you replied to my email - are you away for few days?", and I think "what part of 'I work for you half a day a week' do you not understand?"!! We probably partly bring it on ourselves by being available most of the time, but hey, that's why we are such great and indispensible people to employ!!

Weeonion - grr to your work too. Sounds a nightmare. Might it be easier to negotiate once you're actually back in place?

Oooggs (& WO) - sorry that nursery settling in is still not ideal.

mamiguay · 28/03/2008 10:13

Hi Bramshott! Glad O had a nice part how proud you must have been. I do agree it's our fault (and also that it makes us fabulous employees )

WO tell me more about the naming ceremony, I did toy with doing one for N and it's kind of fallen by the wayside but I still like the idea..

When do you get the MMR in the UK? Here it's 15 months which seems so young!

AngeG · 28/03/2008 10:18

Quick hello before I go into work.

Happy birthday Ffion xx

Bramshott · 28/03/2008 10:23

Mamiguay - here the MMR is 13 months , and before that, there's some kind of booster thing (HIB?) at 12 months - hence today. There is no end to the stuff they stick into them these days.

Better go - I can hear O rifling through my handbag! Am sort of half-dreading, half-looking forward to anyone asking her age for the next week or so - she's 1, argggghh, that's going to take some getting used to . . . !!

AngeG · 28/03/2008 10:40

Same here Mamiguay. 12 months hib/menC, 13 months MMR and PCV, according to Izzy's book.

Off to work now.

Hope everyone has good days xx

Doobydoo · 28/03/2008 10:53

Happy Birhtday FFION!
Have to go my snot encrusted son is destroying the place.
Take care all.

Sexonlegs · 28/03/2008 12:41

Hi loves

Happy Birthday Ffion Hope you are all having a happy day.

How is everyone today?

It is cold and wet here. Dh has gone off with his mater on a ski-ing/climbing weekend, and tbh I am quite glad to see the back of them! They make such a mess - it was like having 2 extra kids in the house!

Off to my parents after school, so may not be on much, if at all.

Hope you have great weekends, and Happy Birthday to all those who turn 1 in the next few days.

cazboldy · 28/03/2008 12:48

Happy Birthday Ffion, and also to those who had birthdays yesterday, that I missed xxx

Dh has 3 days off, so I probably won't be on much.......

I was feeling a bit fed up with him (as you do for no particular reason ), but he has just gone to buy some potatoes from the farm shop, and he fixed the phone that has been playing up, and actually, I have decided he isn't that bad after all

Sexonlegs · 28/03/2008 13:05

Hi Caz, glad dh is in the good books again!

Eddas · 28/03/2008 13:14

Happy birthday ffion

i'm in such a bad mood today. It's one of those days when i just want to be alone. I want to watch crap telly, ext my weight in chocolate/crisps anything else not too good and just slob out. nd i want to cry for no reason, well i did earlier after i'd dropped dd at preschool. I did have a couple of hours when she was out and ds asleep. I just want space. Oh well not going to get any so just need to shut up and put up

StealthPolarBear · 28/03/2008 13:26

Sorry Eddas
At the risk of being patronising, can you go for a short walk? When I feel like that a walk really helps if I can be bothered to actually egt out of the door!

oooggs · 28/03/2008 13:27

oh eddas I have just troughed crisps, choc, sandwich, crisps (yes more!) must be due on

sol - enjoy yourselves at your parents

after tomorrows birthdays there aren't anymore til Milo on the 2nd April!!!!!!

StealthPolarBear · 28/03/2008 13:32

probably already mentioned oooggs, but what do you have planned for tomorrow?

Eddas · 28/03/2008 13:35

i would spb but it's absolutely pouring it down. Been like it most of the day so doubt it'll stop. Dh'll appreciate that when he's cycling home

we're all going to do some dancing in a bitthen i've got a vip next slot at 3 so will do some shopping if it hasn't all been bought by then, that should help

Eddas · 28/03/2008 13:36

oh and oooggs, i've had much the same to eat and i'm supposed to be on ww i just can't be bothered. Really not in the right place to diet atm.

Eddas · 28/03/2008 14:10

well the dancing went well I managed to spike dd's face with one of my nails and she's currently in meltdown because there's a bit of blood. I feel really bad but it was an accident and you'd think half her face was missing with the fuss. She's just gone upstairs and is moaning and wailing away The scratch is about a cm long btw so really nto that bad.

Happy days[gritted teeth smile]

StealthPolarBear · 28/03/2008 14:21

I've just scratched t's face while wrapping a blanket round him - psychic fingernails!

Sexonlegs · 28/03/2008 14:29

Eddas, my sympathies. I am having one of those days. K really clingy and whingy and for the first time ever, would not go down for a nap after lunch. I shouted at her . Had to have her on my lap while trying to eat lunch.

We nipped in to town and she fell asleep in the car, but didn't stay asleep when I tried to transfer her to the pushchair.

Hoping she will have a nap on the way to my parents.

I just want some effing space too!!
Feel like all I do is work, sort the house and look after the kids.

Rant over !!

Pesha · 28/03/2008 16:02

Hi all

Happy Birthday FFION!!!!!

Sorry a few of you seem to be having bad days. D didnt want to have a nap today but I gave him a bottle in his cot in the end and left him to cry for a bit and he finally gave in!

Eddas - dd is like that. She once stood on something and had a pin prick size spot of blood on her foot and cried so much she made herself sick! She's such a drama queen!

Has been a manic morning of tidying for the people coming to look at the house! But they liked it and they want to swap!! So I have said I want to go back and have a wander round the town and visit the svhool as they are the main reasons for moving. Just spoke to maia's friend's mum at the school and she said she knows a couple dc who went there and did really well and it is a good school. I know the Ofsted report was good but nice to hear personal experiences too. Cant believe I might actually be moving!! Had resigned myself to stay here really so its a bit of a Prob wont move till summer hols so dc start new school in new year and gives them some time to settle in. Will have loads of sorting out to do to move and think a major de-clutter is needed so will prob try and do a boot sale and freecycle or skip the rest. I have so much crap

StealthPolarBear · 28/03/2008 16:14

Pesha at your news
(But I don't envy you moving....NEVER again)

StealthPolarBear · 28/03/2008 17:50

Where is everyone? I'm considering getting a life

runnyhabbit · 28/03/2008 18:00

Hi honey, we're home

(only really works with an american accent, lol)
