SPB you'll be glad to hear there is no secret, as far as i'm aware, as NL said it is just luck. Ds was a worse sleeper than dd who pretty much never woke at night but she didn't really go to bed til 11 and then woke at 7 for a feed, then back to sleep for another couple of hours. DS was waking once a night for a while, then I was so tired one night, I ignore his little cries(the on/off ones or i'd have got up) and from that night there's been no feed, in general. If he's ill then it's different.

Oh and don't forget I ff both of them so that may be something to do with it

Enough talk of sleeping since I really will get covered in rotten food

Got such a busy day today. DD's easter bazaar at preschool which i'm helping at. Thankfully when I rang MIL last night she said yes to having ds for me, bless her. Then after all that's done I have work, oh the joys

Eddas · 18/03/2008 07:34

ds is get worryingly close to walking he keeps letting go of things and trying to take a step or 2. he has the confidence, now all he needs is the balance to take steps

NorthernLurker · 18/03/2008 07:34

Great news Oooggs! It's such a pain when the washer doesn't work isn't it. Oh and the school thing is quite good too

Seriuosly I'm delighted for you - pfb going to school is hard enough - you need to feel confidnet in where they are going.

Enjoy the bazaar Eddas.

Ok night here - thanks to having B in bed with me. She woke when I went to bed but fed and settled quickly. Then she tried waking at 4.30 but I just cuddled her and ignored the two minutes of yelling - she went back off till 6.50 Handy that dh is away actually - we have lots of room

oooggs · 18/03/2008 07:55

I am shattered

couldn't sleep as relieved and excited

dts slept til 5.10am - fed then went back til 7am

katy -

  1. both sleep 7pm - 7am - 5%
  2. Erin sleeps through and Jack wakes once feeds then settles - 35%
  3. both wake once between 3-5am - 30%
  4. either one awake too much for no reason - 20%
  5. both awake too much for no reason - 10%

this is just a simple version

StealthPolarBear · 18/03/2008 07:56

Morning everyone
Fantastic oooggs! Such a relief.
Eddas - wow to DS walking! Get the camera charged up!
Morning NL

oooggs · 18/03/2008 08:07

StealthPolarBear · 18/03/2008 08:27

how about the pooing stakes? i think i have here an important contributor to the boys side!

elkiedee · 18/03/2008 08:36

Great news about the school oooggs. Though I'm rather taken aback by the timing of the email - is someone working nights dealing with it or do they put a delay on the emails? Anyway, it must be a great relief for you.

I'm off today and we have workmen upstairs putting in loft insulation - very relieved it's actually happening as I wasn't certain whether I'd succeeded in rearranging for them to come on a day I'd already taken off. I'm very impressed that they turned up on the dot of 8 am.

StealthPolarBear · 18/03/2008 08:41

i was wondering about that too oooggs, or is he going to school in Australia
Glad your workmen have arrived elkie
I know this has been mentioned before and I didn't join in at the time, but what do people have in mind for birthdays? I am thinking of a hedgehog theme as our first present to T was a multicoloured hedgehog. Might be a bit too difficult though!

StealthPolarBear · 18/03/2008 08:42

this one
baby not included, which is a good thing as that would have terrified me!

StealthPolarBear · 18/03/2008 08:44

does anyone have a hedgehog cookie cutter? NL for some reason I think of you when writing that

geordiemacminx · 18/03/2008 08:50

voils

geordiemacminx · 18/03/2008 08:51

alternatively

Oh and it should have beend voila

StealthPolarBear · 18/03/2008 08:57

brillian thanks GMM I did look on ebay but didn't get that one, not sure why!

StealthPolarBear · 18/03/2008 08:57

how are you anyway? haven't seen you for ages!

elkiedee · 18/03/2008 09:05

We had a crap night - D woke from 3 to 4.30, and dp had to be up early because of his shift. But at least I'm off today, we have plans to look forward to later and then it's only 2 days back at work and 4 off, and dp doesn't have to work any of them.

Bramshott · 18/03/2008 09:25

Katy - For DD1's 3rd birthday, I made a chocolate hedgehog cake covered in chocolate buttons www.mcdougalls.com/recipe/showrec135.htm

It was yummy!! Might be a bit full on for a 1 year old though . . .

StealthPolarBear · 18/03/2008 09:41

mm that looks lovely!

Maveta · 18/03/2008 09:41

Morning..

Oooggs I am so happy for you! hope you can relax now.. so far I am not aware that getting into schools is so hard over here, although maybe that just means they are all equally crap

if anyone has advice re. stopping breastfeeding please step this way

It is lovely and sunny here but we have rain and cooler weather arriving for easter, as always. Should be good for my burgeoning terrace garden. Will post pics when it is a bit more developed, is going to look really fab Now if only I can actually keep the plants alive...

It's father's day here tomorrow so going off to buy a t-shirt for Noah and some printer transfer paper to make up some t-shirts I 'designed' (i use the word loosely) when I was pregnant saying 'my dad's the drummer' and a drum kit.. I know dh will be thrilled... but why do I leave everything til the last minute???

StealthPolarBear · 18/03/2008 09:50

panic! until I read "over here"
Sounds a lovely gift Maveta

Octothechildherder · 18/03/2008 09:56

Great news oooggss

Working today - so better get a move on!

cazboldy · 18/03/2008 09:59

CaptainDippy · 18/03/2008 10:13

Lovely gift Mav

Wading through yet more work .... sigh .....

Great news about school oooggs!

elkiedee · 18/03/2008 10:17

I love all the hedgehoggy pics, it's a lovey idea for a theme. Still have to work out how we'll celebrate D's birthday.

cazboldy · 18/03/2008 10:17

hey all

Octo - appeal not going too badly, I think. i spoke to the deputy head, who is in charge of admissions, and he was quite positive and ds1's and dd1's teachers have both offered to write letters supporting us

Oooggs - Yay about getting into your chosen school.......I am going to stand beside you, and hope the luck rubs off you are in good company with your washing machine, my dishwasher packed up yesterday

Looks like you had a lovely meet up, and lovely pics Ange, Bramshott and Dippy

SPB - not really too worried about bedtimes they go when they are tired......it messes up the cows though Molly usually goes from 8pm until 7 am......shh don't tell the others, they will lynch me

Ds2 seems much better today, but he looks like he has 2 golf balls in the back of his throat poor little man. My AF still isn't here, just incase anyone really wanted to know that

Hello everybody else
