* * insert swear word of choice

I have just broken the washing machine - as if I don't have enough to worry about at the moment dh at work, so doesn't know the handle just snapped off in my hand and to top it all ds1's favourite mouse is in their and it trapped - oh I am so cross

weeonion · 17/03/2008 20:01

oh no oooggs - no way of geting the mouse out??

Sexonlegs · 17/03/2008 20:20

Evening all.

Busy on here today. Have read and forgotten again!

Oooggs, b*** to the washing machine. What a pita. No advice I'm afraid - I am useless at that kind of thing.
Hope you get some good news re the school tomorrow

Bramshott, lovely pics of O, I and P. Glad you had a good meet up.

Ange, poor Izzy's bum - sounds v painful. Hope she is better soon.

Dippy, good luck with the job with the lovely shoes - how tempting!!

MJ, lovely to see you flower. Sorry things are crap at work.

POTC, thanks for the new thread.

Hi to all you other lovelies - sorry for being so hopeless.

All ok here. K is much better but still coughing like a good 'un. Poor love. B seems to have picked up a snotty cold as well - joy. Had a good nights' sleep but B wandered in at 6.00. Marched back to her room! I am sure this is related to the clocks going forward at the weekend.

Right, need to do Tesco order. Back later.

Idreamofchocolate · 17/03/2008 20:27

Just doing my usual popping in to say hello...no idea what's going on, but at least I'll find you all tomorrow when (hopefully) I'll have time to catch up.

Hope all is good with everyone, love to you all

Sexonlegs · 17/03/2008 21:10

Where did you all go??

Hi IDOC

Am off to bed as soon as I have had a cuppa and a few mini eggs

See you tomorrow lovelies. xx

StealthPolarBear · 17/03/2008 21:15

clocks go forward this weekend?
How irritating oooggs, sorry, no ideas as to mouse rescue

Eddas · 17/03/2008 21:20

hiya

oooggs · 17/03/2008 21:23

I'm still here, cooking Cornish pasties!!!!!

ds1 was told this morning that JM (Joe Mouse) wouldn't be dry for tonight - so luckily that hasn't caused any probs at bedtime

DH is going to look when he gets home (midnight) I am cross as need to get load out to get next load in. It is on once/twice a day so I could get really behind

elkiedee · 17/03/2008 21:28

oooggs, how old is your washing machine - is the break something that it's possible to replace a part (if it's a handle) or is it an integral bit of the machine. Sorry you're having such a stressful time.

PMSL at the title.

I was reminded of all the worst things about working in London today - my tube line got suspended this morning around the time I arrived at the station - when after waiting for 15 minutes and giving up then waiting to squeeze on to a bus for 20 minutes, I finally got to the next tube station - which is on a different line - trains were running again with just minor delays.

I was on time for work in the sense that we only have to be in by 10, but I really don't need an extra hour added to my travelling time - as I don't want to stay until 6 for obvious reasons!

elkiedee · 17/03/2008 21:31

SOL, starting early on the mini eggs? Hope you enjoyed them.

DP has bought me my two easter eggs as I didn't get any last year - couldn't have eaten one at Easter and my request for one to have after the birth wasn't taken seriously.

oooggs · 17/03/2008 21:31

about 13 years old dh doubts they will still make the parts

does give me something else to moan about other than the school

Sexonlegs · 17/03/2008 21:35

SPB, I think I got it wrong re the clocks going forward this weekend - it is next weekend - I am wishing my life away!

Elkie, what a pita re your travel problems. I so do not miss London! They are in fact B's mini eggs ! She has forgotten about them!!

Oooggs, ikwym re washing machine action. Ours is on at least twice a day. It is cos dh is so big.....

tall that his - his trousers are so long they take up the whole machine

StealthPolarBear · 17/03/2008 21:38

when clocks go forward

T goes to bed at 8, what time will he really go to bed?

can't work it out for myself

it'll be 7 won't it? that's probably good, we can keep him pinned in bed with us a bit longer in the morning

oooggs · 17/03/2008 21:40

it would be 9 wouldn't it????

StealthPolarBear · 17/03/2008 21:46

oh will it?
well that's OK too, means we might cut out the 5am in our bed thing.
Eternal optimist!

StealthPolarBear · 17/03/2008 21:47

Yes, when his body says it's 8 the clock will have gone forward to 9.
Why do i find it so hard to get my head round that?
People with older DCs - do you find clock changes completely messes up bedtimes?

elkiedee · 17/03/2008 21:47

SPB, at least it's Easter weekend, however it turns out with clocks going forward. Put him to bed at the normal time on Saturday, hopefully you get the same amount of time in bed but it will be an hour later when T wakes up for you. I guess our routines might shift slightly in the evening for a while though, I don't know. The clocks went back in October in the middle of one of D's most difficult sleeping spells.

StealthPolarBear · 17/03/2008 21:48

in october we weren't in any sort of routine! We were amazed when he went to sleep each night. Ironically he was sleeping much better then

oooggs · 17/03/2008 21:52

the clocks don't change easter weekend they change the 29/30 March - the weekend after

elkiedee · 17/03/2008 21:54

Thanks oooggs, duh, that does make sense now you say it, it's the last weekend of the month, isn't it? I guess I would have realised this weekend

NorthernLurker · 17/03/2008 21:55

I don't think the clock changes makes a huge difference tbh. Certainly not with babies - they don't use clocks

StealthPolarBear · 17/03/2008 21:59

I'm actually amazed at how T has got himself into a routine, which he must have done himself as I am too much of a slattern.
Some things change but I can count on the fact:
-he will go to bed between 8 and 9
-he will fill his nappy after breakfast (or occasionally before)
-he will usually fall asleep late morning - he demands a feed before it, even if he's just had a 'real' feed

let's not get into night waking

NorthernLurker · 17/03/2008 22:01

SPB - I think B still wakes in the night as a sign of her marvellous intelligence and all round brilliantness! She's just too clever to sleep

Of course - all of you who have babies who sleep know that is because your babies are so clever they need the rest

Everyone's a winner!

StealthPolarBear · 17/03/2008 22:03

I'd love to have a poll of how babies are sleeping at the moment, e.g.:

SPB:
good night: one waking for a feed, straight back to sleep, awake at 6.30 (20% of the time)
medium night: two wakings for a feed, second one at roughly 5am after which in our bed for sleep (60% of the time)
bad night: two wakings for a feed but unsettled and can't be put back down / won't settle in our bed. (20% of the time)

Fell free to add to this! oooggs, I can imagine yours would be fairly complicated!
