the TV remote is in the freezer, your car keys are down the loo, and there are little smears of food at knee height down each corridor!

oh don;t you hate it when they get up that early CSWS {{{hugs}}} dh said dd2 got him up at 6am, but dd1 only got out of bed when I got home at 9am that's one of them trained at least

Jas, that cake is lovely, what a nice thought Yay for the finished jobs, and yay for dh being back at work on Monday

Off to buy a Pick Axe today, as we are paying a mate of dh's to dig the rest of our front garden up tomorrow, so we can get some hardcore down and then the driveway laying can begin! (I so want this job finished, has been half dug, since I did the 1st half last Sept with my dad, who is supposed to be doing the rest, but well....) We borrowed Dad's last time, but he's saying its on a job somewhere (which it won't be, he'll just have the hump that I'm not waiting for him to do it, but I'm fed up with him putting our job to the back of the que when we're paying him family!)

Had a lovely night out in Brum, hit the lime and soda at 12:00 as had to get up at 7am to get back here (groan) went to Red Peppers at the Mailbox for cocktails and tea, then onto Red's bar near the Cathedral for drinkies and dancing Good night, great to catch up with the girls, although sad to hear my friends dh has been diagnosed with Parkinsons so they're making the most of his good times at the mo, as it's going to get not nice from here on in (he is 20 years older than her btw)

Phoenix · 20/04/2008 13:06

I've been DIY-ing this morning. I've put a gate on ds' bedroom door and we're turning his cot to a bed, it's much harder to do than we thought and dh is still up trying to remove the bottom from one of the ends (don't know if that makes sense but it does to me lol) But hopefully ds will sleep well in his big boys bed tonight, fingers crossed please

Phoenix · 20/04/2008 13:44

Aaaarrrggghhh

We'll never be using the stupid cot bed as a cot again because we've had to break one of the end panels to turn it into the bed. It was glued in or something and just wouldn't budge. This is the one we've got and it's the bottom of the 2 panels that is meant to come off.

DontDreamItBeIt · 20/04/2008 14:11

Did it all come fitted together then?
Sorry but I did at my imagined image of you and dh trying to pull it apart.

Phoenix · 20/04/2008 15:16

One side came apart fine it just slides off after a bit of persuasion from a flat head screwdriver, but the side we've broke just wouldn't move, the bottom of the legs came off but the panel bit wouldn't so dh took his saw to it cos we were damaging it trying to get it out.

Flamesparrow · 20/04/2008 19:29

Ooh I like the sound of playing with a pick axe

huzzah!!!

Argh for the cot destroying though!

DS is currently running round like a maniac... I put him to bed 20 mins ago Damn his upper body strength!

Phoenix · 20/04/2008 19:36

Pmsl Flame, ds squeezed a wee out that hard the other day (on the promise of chocolate) that he did a little poo too .

All is quiet in ds' room. He ran out of bed twice as i tried to leave his room but i just put him back in and left. I'm just having my tea then i'm off up to check on him. I've just won a bed guard on ebay though just in case it all goes wrong in the night.

Flamesparrow · 20/04/2008 19:38

I could hear DS chattering, thought he was in with DH... walked into the hallway and the front door was open and he was halfway down the path

Front door must now be locked and keys out at all times (he can unlock it now too)

Phoenix · 20/04/2008 19:43

Have you got a low door handle or does he climb up to it?

Flamesparrow · 20/04/2008 19:53

Normal height handle but it has to be pulled down hard to open. Gah.

CantSleepWontSleep · 20/04/2008 20:18

flame. Are you allowed to put a bolt on it too?

Flamesparrow · 20/04/2008 20:21

Can't - tis plastic double glazed thingamy

mustrunmore · 20/04/2008 21:01

Eek Flame

Cake is fantastic Jas.

So. Yesterday I buy new jeans and a top with the money my Mu gave me. Today we go swimming and find my cossie falling apaprt, so had to replace it You know when you get little fronds of lycra stiv=cking thirugh? It was completely all over the chest and bum

CantSleepWontSleep · 20/04/2008 21:14

Oh yes mrm - that's always a good look .
You feelin' better about school now?

Hope there are no bumps in the night Phoenix.

Phoenix · 20/04/2008 21:48

mrm.

Ds is fast asleep. I've put some pillows on the floor just in case.

We're getting near the end of the thread . Any title ideas?

DontDreamItBeIt · 20/04/2008 21:52

Flame. Very scary.

I'm locking our front door at the moment, too....ds can open it, but is usually seperated from it by a gate. Dp still leaves the gate open.
He can't climb it (yet) but is trying to copy the dds whoclimb over the bannisters onto the sofa.
I think I will try and get a chain for it, instead. I don't like being locked in.

Thread is getting full.....any ideas for new title?

I hope ds likes his big boy bed Phoenix.

DontDreamItBeIt · 20/04/2008 21:54

thinking the same thing, Phoenix

Nothing is coming to mind here title wise....

Phoenix · 20/04/2008 21:56

We always lock our front door it's just a habit that my parents got me into and I got dh into. The keys are always in it but ds can't unlock it.

DontDreamItBeIt · 20/04/2008 21:59

We lock ours at night (one of our neighbours woke up to find burglars in her house last year), but if I leave the key in the door during the day you can't open it from the other side.

Phoenix · 20/04/2008 22:03

Ours is locked at night with the keys out.

CantSleepWontSleep · 21/04/2008 18:44

Boo!

I didn't answer your question the other day mrm. No, I don't look very pregnant yet - just a bit fatter than normal.

Flamesparrow · 21/04/2008 19:40

So... I might have chicken pox...

Phoenix · 21/04/2008 19:41

Blimey 1 post all day

Night number 1 in the bed went well, no falling out, so i haven't bothered with the bed guard tonight. He woke up twice, got out of bed once but i got to his door just as he did so i put him straight back to bed. When he woke up this morning he just laid in bed and yelled for me as he usually does. Night number 2 has started well too he's fast asleep .

Phoenix · 21/04/2008 19:42

x-posts Flame. , have the kids had it?

DontDreamItBeIt · 21/04/2008 19:43

YOU have chicken pox?

Glad Lewis is ok in his bed. Not going to try ds until I have to though.
