the TV remote is in the freezer, your car keys are down the loo, and there are little smears of food at knee height down each corridor!

God, imagine Jas giving up tea!

Flamesparrow · 06/03/2008 19:37

The thought of that stunned us into silence

I really have to get DD into a dentist

DS is poorly He hasn't been "right" for the last week, but not actually ill either iyswim. This morning he was all snuffly, fell asleep on the way to Psycho after school (unheard of during the last 8 months or so), then slept again lunchtime, been clingy and whingey, then fell asleep again picking up DH and hasn't woken since I see a long night ahead.... pondering going out and buying some medised to help him just sleep through it.

CSWS - the thread with MumOfMonsters yesterday.....

I don't know if I can make an official announcement though!

CantSleepWontSleep · 06/03/2008 20:04

Gotcha flame . Can I offer unofficial congratulations?!

Can dd not just come to the dentist with you?

for ds being ill.

Flamesparrow · 06/03/2008 20:12

DD got taken off the books - missed one appointment through own stupidity, one when ds had herpes and i'd been up all night - 2 strikes n out

Flamesparrow · 06/03/2008 20:17

will pass on unofficialness

mustrunmore · 06/03/2008 20:28

Do your dentists all put big signs up when they're doing another intake of NHS people, like ours do?!

Day of total chaos here, but culminating in the good news that the kitchen is great! Dh removed most of it today, going to finish off tomorrow (maybe 1-2 hrs work as its all the tricky bits he left till last, of ocurse), and we've got a van for Dad to drive over and collect it all Loads of units, so we're going to be storage world in our house now The dresser comes SAturday, then I'm going to rip out the units alondg 2 sides, and paint. Then we'll have run out of time for a while, so its going to literally be bunging in a unit here and there when the boys are in bed Bearing in mind it took 6 weeks to do the bathroom, which is still not finished, I get the feeling the kitchen will be a long one! But I'm sooo happy!

damewashalot · 06/03/2008 20:55

Anyone want a look at my bump?

DH took some pics last night so if you are interested they are here

Trying to decide if I'm brave enough to start a thread to show them or just stick to you lot and the surprisingly large number of other people who seem to read this thread - 45 people looked at the cake last night andI'm sure there aren't that many of us opinions please.

Off to find some food and watch Ashes to ashes.

Flamesparrow · 06/03/2008 21:00

That makes me broody! Put em up

Yay for kitchen!!!!!!!!

Not seen any dentist signs - I think they try and hide the fact so they don't have to take on us cheapskates

CantSleepWontSleep · 06/03/2008 21:10

No idea re signs - I don't actually pay attention to anything much when I go.

45 . If I looked then looked again later (from same laptop) would that count as 2 or 1? How many weeks are you? 25? 26? Looks a good size (but very neat) bump .

Yay for kitchen! Good to hear you say you are happy for once!

damewashalot · 06/03/2008 21:12

Thread started as advised by flame here

damewashalot · 06/03/2008 21:14

No you would have counted as 1, it's people not views, can't believe that many people would be interested in our nattering

damewashalot · 06/03/2008 21:15

Sorry, 26wks now

Phoenix · 06/03/2008 21:32

Hola

Dame your bump looks great. (cake looked fab too) 26 weeks has gone so fast.

Ds is registered at dentist but they only looked at his the 1st time we went. I'm crap at brushing his teeth but if i attempt it he doesn't like it, he just likes to chew on it himself.

Right i've found a toddler group on a morning at the end of my road i'm gonna try push myself into going. I went to look at the playgroup today that does 2.5 hour sessions but they said those are funded sessions from age 3. Funding is available from age2 but there is criteria to it. They said to try apply for it saying i'm worried about his speech but i'm not gonna bother cos there was something about it i didn't like but don't know what iykwim

How long do other lo's go to CM's nurseries for?

Hope everyone's ok

CantSleepWontSleep · 06/03/2008 21:37

They are funded from age 3, but most take them sooner if you pay yourself - will this one not?

Not sure exactly what you mean by CM's nurseries, but when dd is with CM she goes from 1:30 to 5:30, and when she starts nursery school she will go from 1:15 to 3:55.

Well done on finding the toddler group. Which day is it on?

Phoenix · 06/03/2008 21:39

Sorry i mean CM's or nurseries

Toddler group is Wednesday

CantSleepWontSleep · 06/03/2008 21:42
Phoenix · 06/03/2008 21:44

I'm not sure the lady said the 2.5 sessions were funded. But when i rang i said i wanted the 2.5 sessions and ds was 2, you'd think they'd have told me that on the phone. But like i said there was something i didn't like about it anyway.

I'm gonna see how the toddler group goes and then think about putting his name down to start at the one i saw 1st for him to go about 2.5 - 3.

He cried when i brought him away from both nurseries. He wanted to stay and even waved bye to me when i said i was going and leaving him but i'm just not sure what he'd be like if i actually left iykwim.

EachPeachPearMum · 06/03/2008 22:10

Dd is in nursery fulltime, as I work full time. She started off 1 day a week though, then did 2 days, 3 days then 5. That was over a 6 month period.

Dh and I both had bad experiences with cms as children, so it wasn't really an option for us, though I did go and see some.

Thanksfully dd was very happy with the nursery I liked most- on her first visit, she just sat down and started playing straight away, happily.

On this note- she seems to love visiting new places, and keeps asking if we can go and visit schools at the weekend! (we have visited several school open days so far)

Phoenix · 06/03/2008 22:14

That's what ds was like at both i've been to see, he loved them. But the one today i didn't.

CantSleepWontSleep · 06/03/2008 22:29

Trust your gut instinct Phoenix.

MrCSWS - on the off chance that you read this before coming to bed, can you switch the heating onto constant so that dd doesn't wake all night again please. Or change the timer to go off at midnight, and then back on at 3.

And turn the TV down will you. It's keeping me awake .

Frizbe · 06/03/2008 23:00

Wrote a huge post and my bloody internet crashed argh! stuff it all

Was going to defo say have a nice night CSWS's

Phoenix agree trust your instincts

Flibbertyjibbet · 06/03/2008 23:08

The bathroom floor is covered in unravelled toilet roll but none on the roll....

DS1 is great at going to the loo on his own but can't quite get the hang of the perforations on the loo roll - he just keeps pulling at it thinking the square in his hand will come off the roll .

CantSleepWontSleep · 07/03/2008 07:12
