Well that describes what Hattie has had to the spot

Ellie has always had a CD on to go to sleep (used to be music now she either has a story Cd or disney princess songs (yes they sell a triple cd album of all the female songs in disney films and we own it )we dont bypass me reading a bedtime story, they both get a story in bed (hattie has ITNG and Ellie picks hers buit we are on smaller print books so she is allowed 4 pages a night) then her CD

Had never though to get Hattie a CD player (bad 2nd child syndrome )

Just a quickie to say thank you for your thoughts, dh came home last night and is OK. I am off to my mums to give him a nice relaxing day at home free of the night garden.

Lizz: hope you can get something from your dr to help settle him often it is just a question of riding it out - I would take a small sample of it in a small jar eg camera film case (not in a 2L pop bottle as one patient did = boke) to send off to the lab as it has been going on for sometime now. Hope he settles over the weekend keep up with the milk and water +++

Will catch up when I get back.

Loosh

Lizzzombie · 14/03/2008 09:10

Thanks Loosh, thats what I think my Dr is going to say, nhs direct say it could go on for 8 days. (ugh!) I'm going through so many nappies! He's looking really skinny this morning so I weighed him too. He's 11kg which according to the red book means he is in the 75th percentile. Fingers crossed it will be over soon.

Hope your DP gets some rest at home more so than in the hospital.

Eah - I am so buying a cd player and then recording myself "shhing" over and over again!

PCF - Great to see you on here. I watched half that pramface programme before I got too knackered, but what surprised me was how useless the boyfriends were. I hope they got better in the 2nd half.

Hope you all have a good day x

eandh · 14/03/2008 10:36

Eandh ? glad H is over the bug. Can?t believe the price of that single bed you linked to, is it really comfy? We got a frame for ds1 and mattress separately, but I don?t rate the mattress (though figure it?ll get peed/vomited on so much it?ll be replaced before it?s very old!); will need to get one for ds2 at some point ? preferably before he?s so big he breaks the cot (like ds1 did!!!).
Susie ? don?t know if you?re able to lurk just now, but hope dh is listening to you x
Reggie ? out of interest, what treadmill do you have (not that dh will let me get another gadget to gather dust?)
Wilkie ? how?s the packing going?
Loosh ? switch the Depeche Mode off! I swear by Abba ? ds1 was right into it a year ago, now I think he gets sick of me playing it!! How?s things today? Hugs to your Mum too. Now be sure and go to tesco with her
Lizzz ? how?s the poo today . Ds2 just gets bfeed then bed, unless dh isn?t home in which case he sits in ds1?s room while he has his (up to) 3 stories then bed. Ds1 has one of those mobiles that just becomes a music box when they?re older while he goes to sleep. If (usually!) he?s not asleep when it finishes playing (15 minutes repeating the same 3 songs over and over) he switches it on again. And again. 2 years 9 months of that blooming music aaagh!
PCF ? 7 weeks .

Not a lot of news here. Busy with work, had a course on yesterday too. The boys were on better form after a day with my mother than they were after a morning with me . Was feeling pretty sorry for myself at the beginning of the week ? but then guess what happened for the first time in 2 years? Yup, started my period. In the middle of the morning. Just as well I had some random leftover Always in my work bag! Clearly is time to TTC just so that I don?t have any more periods?maybe that?s a little extreme

2 happy

Lizzzombie · 14/03/2008 17:33

eah - thanks for argos ideas.

Dr said to starve him off milk for 24 hours as it probably isnt helping the bug, and to give him flat coke for 24 hours as a liquid instead.
really not sure about this.

what do you all think?

laughalot · 14/03/2008 17:52

Flat coke is good for tummy upsets I had that alot as a child. I would also consider ice pops as it gets fluid into them lizz. I also swear by plain biscuits xxxx

2happy · 14/03/2008 18:05

My mum swears by flat lemonade for tummy upsets - and I have to say when I tried it when I had the horrible vomiting bug end of last year, actually it worked really well. It tastes better than dioralyte, I believe!

OP posts:
Wilkie · 14/03/2008 18:45

Lizz - quick posts just to you then will be back for the rest later

Flat coke is a real tonic for upset tums so would go with GP advice. I swear by it!!

J has a vtech music player that he goes to sleep to at nap time and sleep time. Never goes off without it.

Lizzzombie · 14/03/2008 20:55

I also drink coke (& eat plain crisps) to ease a stomach upset but I was a bit wary of giving it to DJ. However, he hasn't exactly gone for it yet anyway! The Dr also said to keep him off milk for 24 hours. So putting him to bed was great fun this evening. He was not happy about missing his milk! My poor little skinny baby.

Wilkie - how much packing have you done????

Wilkie · 14/03/2008 21:07

Wellll - the pictures/ornaments/breakables (glasses/vases and the like) are all packed. TBH - there is very little I can actually pack - it only a 2 up 2 down. PIL are having J from Weds till Fri so he is out the way and then mum is coming Tues pm so we can blitz it on Weds and Thurs am.

Have had some really really awful news today.....

Broadband is not available in the new rental property. What the f*ck am I supposed to do???!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

laughalot · 14/03/2008 21:08

Wilkie nnnnnnnnnnnnnnooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo !

katwith3kittens · 14/03/2008 21:10

Aaaahhh poor little baby

I remember I almost lived on flat Lucazade when I was pregnant with DD. I was sick day in day out for 28 weeks.... you would have thought that would have put me off for life .. and then I did it again .... and again Hee Hee !

And now she's all grown up and passed her 11+ this week. I'm feeling all old atm, she's growing up too quickly.

How on earth have you managed to not have a period for so long 2H ? You have been very very lucky. Mine came back after 6 months or so, even with exclusive BF !

God, my norks have been painful this week... have made the decision to stop feeding in the day for the last couple of weeks now and all going OK. Then went to watch DD at school and didnt get home till 9.45 pm, (by which time was feeling decidely full ) and so fed LO immediately but I must have got a blocked duct (again) and it has been so painful. I think I've got over it now though (hopefully)

Anyway, cant stop, supposed to be looking for new bathroom suites on tinternet.

Hope you all have a good weekend

Wilkie · 14/03/2008 21:11

I know

katwith3kittens · 14/03/2008 21:11
