Sexonlegs · 29/02/2008 14:40

Oh no, that messy!?

StealthPolarBear · 29/02/2008 15:02

No, he just hasn't had one yet so it seemed a good time. But actually, yes, it was one of the messiest I've seen in a while

weeonion · 29/02/2008 15:05

just back from docs. C has RSV - bronchialitis! gutted as i thought last night that she was getting a bit wheezy - poor thing - that was the reason. have to keep an eye on her and out of th eway of other kids - v contagious apparently. has anyone here had it??

StealthPolarBear · 29/02/2008 15:09

oh dear wo poor c. Do you have to do anything to treat it, or is it just waiting for her to get better?

weeonion · 29/02/2008 15:14

theres moting she can take but just keep an eye on her, humid room and calpol.
feel awful but i guess we have been so lucky to not have had anything up to now.

geordiemacminx · 29/02/2008 15:43

Sounds like everyone is having a crap time at the moment.

Poor C WO. Hope she is feeling better soon. There is a girl at Baby sensory that had that.

Had a horrible morning here, nipped out to get a few bits, it was raining so heavily that I just grabbed C and carried him into shop, floor was wet and I slipped, landing on C. Gave us both a fright more than anything, not 1 single person helped us or came to see if we were ok even though we were both in tears

StealthPolarBear · 29/02/2008 16:01

That's horrible GMM! Hope you're OK, was C hurt? Have you made your knees any worse?

Sexonlegs · 29/02/2008 16:07

Oh WO and GMM, how awful for you both.

Can't believe no one helped you GMM.

OK, quick question to IDOC. Do I cook the dried lentils in water first before frying them up with the onion??

geordiemacminx · 29/02/2008 16:10

Knees are ok at the moment SPB - Have started running again.

We are ok, more of a fright than anything I think

NorthernLurker · 29/02/2008 16:26

GMM - how shocking no one helped you - what is wrong with people?

WO - poor little C - RSV is very common in babies - I know of several who have had it and all been fine. How is the wheezing now? I feel rotten for saying you should put your baby monitor in a sock the other day - sorrry C!

SOL - what I did with lentils is fry the onion (and a bit of red pepper I had lying around) first till softened a bit then add the lentils and stir them in well then pour on the stock and I kept adding water as it cooked so they didn't go too dry. I'm really pleased with myself as what I produced could be described as a squash and lentil broth - v nice. B ate her bowl full and I've got loads in the freezer too!

weeonion · 29/02/2008 16:26

GMM - ignorant gits! cant believe they wouldnt go and help a mum and baby!!
it is bloody grim up here - blowing a gale and torrents of rain. hope you are tucked up with hot chocolate now. i have just sat and ate 4 triple chocolate muffins. they were meant to be for visitors tomorrow but as i have eaten all of them - i can just pretend they never existed!

NorthernLurker · 29/02/2008 16:28

snap - I've just eaten two chocolate cup cakes!

ellesbelles · 29/02/2008 16:40

Hi all. So glad you took c to the doc's WO so you know what it is she has. Hope she gets better really soon. Give her kisses from me.

GMM that is terrible re no one helping you, bet you got a real fright. Hope you are both ok.

I came out of the Garscube playrooms around 2pm and thought the weather wasn't that bad. Big mistake! Half way up the road a torrential rain storm started and it was like getting buckets of water thrown in my face. The pram was going everywhere and I was holding on for dear life. Luckily a bus driver stopped randomly (not at a bus stop) and let me on - phew! So glad to be home with the heating on.

Wish there was something tasty to eat in the house - but nothing - boo!

NorthernLurker · 29/02/2008 16:46

eb - your story of the bus driver restores my faith in human nature!! Nothing in the house - oh dear you'll have to order out then!

ellesbelles · 29/02/2008 17:00

Hi NL - I know I could have kissed him!! I am having a real fruit ice-lolly. Not very naughty but better than nothing. Would rather have the chocolate muffins a la WO though.

NorthernLurker · 29/02/2008 17:02

It's pouring here too - just got home from school before it got too bad.

StealthPolarBear · 29/02/2008 17:46

Hi everyone
Have just had a little housework whirlwind- have hoovered everywhere apart from our bedroom and mopped all floors! Wow - if I could be like this every day I'd have a gleaming house

StealthPolarBear · 29/02/2008 17:48

Still probably doesn't average out at 5 mins per day this week I MN far too much!

liath · 29/02/2008 18:22

Evening!

Dreadful weather up here. What a nice bus driver, EB sort of restores your faith in humanity after GMM's experience.

WO, ds had bronchiolitis in the autumn (well, we think it was!!) and he was reasonably well but was wheezing & coughing for AGES. Hope C weathers it OK.

SPB I'm applying to be BF buddy too, am looking forward to it - it'll be nice to give something back after the fab help I had in the beginning from the midwives.

Belated happy birthday to Ange.

DH is back from ski-ing LADEN with chocolate - what a nice husband .

liath · 29/02/2008 18:24

BTW has anyone else still not had their AF back yet? Maybe I ought to do a pregnancy test.....

NorthernLurker · 29/02/2008 18:43

me neither Liath - it took quite a long time with the other two as well. I'm still feeding B morning and evening and at night and in between times as required so I wonder if that has anything to do with it. Am quite sure I'm not pregnant - no vomiting or exhaustion, strange taste in the mouth, cramp at night or any of the other ailments which afflict me!

oooggs · 29/02/2008 19:01

go on liath test

Jack ok but a bit clingy - probably a bug again

wow housework katy - maybe I could try that

wo - hope C better soon

got to go Jack crying

elkiedee · 29/02/2008 19:08

Good luck to you all doing bfc training, if I get to have another baby you'll all have to come and visit and help me get it right next time.

D woke up lots in the night and I fell asleep in the cafe with D and my dad after swimming. Not sure how I'll manage work on Monday. Luckily we had no trouble getting on a bus and my dad kindly took D out for a while again so I could lie down for a while. D is now being given his bath by dp and in theory I just have to read a story tonight - but I suspect I'll be running up and downstairs all evening again, or persuading dp to take him out for a walk - dp won't usually let me take him for a walk on my own but has to be pushed to try it.

Sexonlegs · 29/02/2008 20:11

Hi all.

No posts for an hour!!!

Oooggs, hope J is better soon and no-one else comes down with it.

NL, thanks for the tip re the recipe. I have done it and it tastes yummy! Made some beef casserole as well, so the freezer is fit to burst. Trying to keep it simple for K though, as sorry for tmi but her nappies are still not back to normal!

Elkie, hope you get a better night. I don't wish to patronise/piss you off, but do you think D is just playing you? Would you consider cc? I am just worried that you are going to be utterly exhausted when you go back to work.

Bramshott · 29/02/2008 20:22

Flying by in between ordering shopping online, drinking wine, and going next door to spend quality time with DH!

Had a lovely day today - O on really good form for some reason! Dentist first thing - yuk - but at least I don't need root canal treatment, just a new filling! Mind you, he was muttering about maybe needing to be extracted further down the line. Tell me, those of you who have had teeth out recently, what are you having done? Are you having the expensive implant thing?

Anyway, after dentist, on to lunch with NCT group - 5 babies lined up in high chairs which looked very funny! O happy to eat sandwiches for lunch which should hopefully release me from the tyranny of 2 cooked meals a day! Came back, and did job application letter I have been putting off - felt much better! Wasn't sure about it but have now talked myself into wanting it so I'm sure I won't get it!

Then off to school for sharing assembly where Reception had all drawn pictures of their mummies and written about them, along the lines of "my mummy is beautiful, my mummy loves me, I love my mummy" etc. Lots of welling up! I was outed as the non-cooking mummy though as N had written "my mummy likes helping my daddy cook"!!

Then home and facepaints with N - I did a great tiger!! She did a rather scary bird on me which frightened O, but I love to see the concentration on her face as she does the painting!

And of course - IT'S FRIDAY!! I love Fridays - so much possibility! Right - off to drink wine and eat pizza now - yum!

Have a lovely weekend all!
