blardy effing sodding doctors.

he says there is no infection, and can't understand why I'm in pain . He thinks that it's a fluid build up behind the ear drum as a result of either labyrinthitis (wtf?) or meniers disease. He gave me some tablets that "you can take when BFing, but it's best not to, better just stop for a week). The mfrs website says definately NOT when BFing . He suggested that I leave it till it settles itself or else stop BFing for a week to see if they help. And i forgot to mention to him that I might be pregnant.

googled labyrinthitis and meniers disease and scared the pants off myself (I know, I know, never google stuff like that).....as both things don't seem to have a cure and it's a case of either managing symptoms or hoping that they go away by themselves.

The wonders of modern medicine.

And, I went out and left the keys dangling in the lock again, then after being at the docs then wandering around for 20 mins whilst waiting on my prescription, got back to the car to find the car keys in the boot lock, as my head feels like someone is stirring it with a wooden spoon whilst simultaneously sticking hot needles in my ears.

Am off to bed straight after the kids tonight

sorry for moaning.

HellHathNoFury · 25/02/2008 19:16

Daisy... tell me to piss off if you like, but I once had an incredibly painful ear, I went to 3 different GPs who said there wasn't an infection, maybe I had swim ear or a water buildup or whatever, but nothing worked...
then I went to a different GP and he prescribed me muscle relaxants! I said why?
He said 'you're stressed'
within a day it was gone!

just an idea to throw into the pot

FairyFay · 25/02/2008 19:27

Bloody doctors Daisy. Grrr. I really hope that you haven't got it, obviously, but if it's any consolation, I have a friend who has meniers and it really doesn't affect her life too badly. The dizziness, etc isn't constant.

LardyMardyDaisyBoo · 25/02/2008 20:06

That makes some sense fury, as it does seem worse when I'm more stressed.

That's good to know as well fairy. the stuff I read said no driving or going up ladders and i was thinking oh well, there goes my livelihood.

It was the doctor at our practice who always has appointments left because nobody likes him. He said to come back next Monday, but he isn't bloody in then. Rather than making an appointment with him for next Tuesday, I made one with a different doctor.

I just don't know whether or not to take the bloody pills. I'm not sure I can successfully express for a week, and I don't want to stop BFing just yet.

Anyway, I'm going to console myself by buying some bumgenius nappies

Sputnik · 25/02/2008 20:28

That's really the pits Daisy.

Foxy, glad to hear you've been promoting the Sputnik philosophy! And hope he comes grovelling back on his hands and knees you can make peace.

Luckily I don't give a monkey's about things like mother's day, as DH is hopeless at those things. On the other hand I had him swear to bring me coffe every morning for the rest of my life

foxythesnowman · 25/02/2008 20:31

we all went out for dinner which was nice. Now he's gone to a mate's house to watch footy. he's still a git.

LardyMardyDaisyBoo · 25/02/2008 21:14

I get a lie in every Saturday and Sunday and tea brought to me in bed every morning DH is home, so I can't complain really.

Glad you had a nice tea out foxy.

yikes I've just bought £30 more of new nappies than I've sold.......best get listing on used nappies!

Sputnik · 25/02/2008 21:29

Feeling better now Daisy?

LardyMardyDaisyBoo · 25/02/2008 21:50

It comes and goes Sputnik...like my ear is full of very hot liquid

It has taken me over half an hour to clear old e-mails out of both my e-mail accounts....life here is just so blardy exciting

milkyJammy · 25/02/2008 21:57

Hi all.

Daisy, I feel for you I really do. Hope it's not anything serious or incurable, and you feel right as rain soon.

I'm hoping for a card and maybe a small pressie (I suggested a bar of Bumper's lavender choccie) or a trip out for an afternoon cup of tea at the garden centre. DH says he didn't get anything for father's day so... I say I only got out of hospital at about 4pm on Father's Day, having had DD a month early, so it was reasonable for me not to have got anything in in advance.

Actually speaking of DH, we've niggled at each other all night. Well he's niggled at me and I've been a grumpy sod back at him. I'm really fed up and miserable now.

How horrible daisy, are you ok? I'd def go back to see another dr. It sounds nasty, poor you.

What nappies did you buy?

Glad you had a nice dinner foxy. Hope he is less twunty when he gets home.

I can't go to bed for half an hour because I had a lemsip at 6.30, so can't have another til 10.30. My throat hurts .

milkyJammy · 25/02/2008 22:00

Without wanting to sound like one upmanship, I had a boil in my ear once. Bloody hurt! DH wanted to lance it with a needle!

Speaking of which he is being a right git at the moment. I have just told him he is thick and lazy, which probably isn't helping, but I could just scream sometimes.

Jammy, tell your dh to fark off and go out on Mothers' Day on your own and spend lots of his money! Pref on shoes and handbags...pretty and expensive ones!

BumperliciousIsOneHotMother · 25/02/2008 22:01

Evening all. Sorry for twunty DPs, poorly mums and babes.

foxythesnowman · 25/02/2008 22:04

Is it a full moon, or is there no reason for twuntishness males.

Doesn't help that his team is losing. I think I shall be in bed when he comes home.

Things are a bit shite at the moment. The news is full of tragedy, lo's are ill, DPs being badly behaved, we are ill (Daisy, I hope you are OK and make a swift recovery).

Hmmm, bedtime me thinks.

LardyMardyDaisyBoo · 25/02/2008 22:05

wassup jammy?

holly, I bought some fuzzis, two bumgenius V2 on BOGOF , 2 Drybees and 2 Greenkids.

Can't wait to get them and be back in full time fluff

HollyPutTheKettleOn · 25/02/2008 22:07

Where did you get the v2s from? I can't find them anywhere on BOGOF. Did you buy the last few from Totnes Nappies? I wanted them and they've gone !

Night foxy.

milkyJammy · 25/02/2008 22:07

I'm fine thanks. Or I will be when I stop being pissed off with someone (none of you lot! You're all lovely!!!)

oh, missed your post jammy.....give him a kick up the arse and tell him he has to get you a card and treat you like the fantastic, lovely and wonderful mum that you are.

holly, have you tried gargling with tcp? It sounds horrible (and it is), but it kills off any nasties lurking on your tonsils. Just try not to swallow it!

I've taken some ibuprofen and it has calmed down a wee bit.

HollyPutTheKettleOn · 25/02/2008 22:10

Huh?

My pc is being odd.

My dd has just come downstairs PHSL! SHe has an imaginary friend called DeeDee and apparently she did something funny!
