I'm off too...........
I'm on nursery drop off duty tomorrow - and have to be in Liverpool with food for 35 psychiatrists at a meeting by 9.45.
Night all.

HollyPutTheHabitOn · 03/03/2008 22:08

Evening all, just a quick hello, ds needs feeding!

I am hopefully still coming to ikea tomorrow if anyone else is, but the fucking tax bods have fucked up my tax credits (again) and all my payments have stopped, so I am pretty skint! I transferred a load of money from paypal the other day, so hopefully that'll be in tomorrow. If it is I can join you...if it isn't I can't! I am SERIOUSLY pissed off!

I will come on in the morning to let anyone who is going know what the plans are...fingers crossed!

I haven't caught up, so hope everyone is well. I shall catch up and chat in the morning.

Love to all xxx

milkyJammy · 04/03/2008 06:50

Well what an even night we had - Dh had to settle her at 10, I had to feed her at 12 and 2, change her nappy and jamas at 4 when she was wet through, and get up with her at 6!

I'm shattered now. Got a meeting this morning, but seriously considering taking the afternoon off to come home to sleep. If I do you might see me later...

Jammy, that sounds horrible - I hope you can get some zzz this afternoon.

Holly, I really hope that you can make it. I think I'll probably go anyway. I'm leaving for dentist at 8:50 and will check just before I go as I will go straight from there.

annobal · 04/03/2008 09:30

Morning Andie, Jammy, Fairy and Holly and anyone else lurking. Have a great meet up today. I think we are going to be in all day - dcs watching star wars and coughing loads so best to keep them quiet. Holly, I hope your money comes through.

HollyPutTheHabitOn · 04/03/2008 09:34

Hi guys, I'm really sorry, but I'm not going to make Ikea. I feel really bad because it was me that suggested the meet up in the first place and now I'm backing out. The money from paypal hasn't gone through yet, so we are poor . I am going to phone tax credits and give them an earful! Hope you have a lovely time andie and fairy xxx

I feel your pain jammy! Ds has had 3 nights of hell and I feel like I've been hit by a truck. To make matters worse dp has just slept through the whole thing! I'm just glad I don't have to go to work, I really feel for those that do.

Bumper, I've just had a skim through and your dh's situation sounds shit. I don't know what to suggest, but I really hope you get it sorted. He works in retail doesn't he? I know from experience that it is not a good industry to be in if you want to work pt. Fingers crossed for him.

Daisy, hope things are better with ds this morning xxx

SisterSputnik · 04/03/2008 10:13

Holly shame you couldn't make Ikea. I feel for you with you nights from hell as I just went through the same thing. Last night was ok so hopefully we're out of the woods.

LardyMardyDaisyBoo · 04/03/2008 10:29

morning been up half the night with DD who has been vomming and squitting all night. she isnot a happy camper this morning at all, and neither am I. early pregnancy and vommy, squitty babies DO NOT mix! DH called earlier, he has been up all nigh as well, but being a typical bloke, it's not just a bug, it's food poisoning

sorry you couldn't make it to your meet up this morning holly.

sounds like another unsettled night for them all; do you think they are communicating with each other by telepathy or something?

DD is now asleep after just moaning and whinging for about an hour. The poor wee thing. Am i better keeping her away from solid food and just BFing her today? She's never had a vommy bug before.

foxythesnowman · 04/03/2008 10:58

Daisy, you are very kind and thoughtful and lovely! Thank your!

Bumper, you need to check out the family-friendly laws. What would they say if he were a mother returning to work? I think he might be able to spout Sex Discrimination at them. That particular company should be able to accommodate the request. Or prove why they can't.

If they accomodate other part-timers (in particular women, which I would expect them to do) they should seriously consider this request.

Or they are forcing him to leave as he has to look after your child, which is constructive dismissal.

Contact your CAB and start Googling. You need to find out your rights. I think you have some.

HellHathNoFury · 04/03/2008 11:07

Good morning ladies (and any men lurkers we don't know about).

Hope you are all well.

foxythesnowman · 04/03/2008 11:09

Fury! How did the weekend go?

HellHathNoFury · 04/03/2008 11:18

SAturday was manic - had a haircut, drove dog to get a haircut, got jazzed up for sisters 40th at Prezzo (which was quite nice).
DS came to the meal and coped very well before totally flaking at 9pm (I have since asked my family to arrange family meals to start at 6pm, not 7pm, as the little mite just can't handle it).

Next day I cooked a massive meal, cooked waaayyyy too much but it seemed to go down ok!

Then yesterday was so exhausted I chucked a sickie and then my microwave exploded, which I went out and replaced with one that doesn't fit so now I have to go back tonight and take it back.
I spent some time on the PC organising 60 photos for the walls for my mums 60th.

Also yesterday I went to 2 nurseries and checked them out for suitability.
One of them - oh good lord no it was evil - the other one I am thinking about. It's not perfect and there are bits about it I don't like at all but other bits I loved, so feeling mixed.

Mothers day was good, DH apparently had been trying to buy me a diamond necklace but no one stocked the one he wanted to buy so I have a voucher bless the lovely DH.
DS also made me a card from nursery which was cute.

So a manic weekend.

Now I am back at work.

Daisy sorry to hear DD is ill. I think you can offer solid food but she may well not want it.
Bumper the work situation is shit. Foxy is right, see where you stand.

Any of you BLW's I accidentally discovered a great way of making some baby finger foods yesterday if anyone wants the recipe.

Essay over.

annobal · 04/03/2008 11:40

Hey Fury, sounds like a great weekend. Lovely DH and the diamond necklace.

Daisy, poor you! You should be okay giving dd food if she wants it but steer clear of anything with milk in it (not bm obviously) as it apparently makes the bug stay around longer (that was drs advice to me). Hope she is better soon.

milkyJammy · 04/03/2008 12:29

Hi, I'm just checking in at lunchtime - by which you might gather I am staying at work for the afternoon. I told my line manager I was thinking of taking the afternoon off and got told "but then you'll never be here". I couldn't tell if it was a complaint or not, but felt bad so agreed to stay. There was plenty of cake and choccies in the work kitchen so I'm powering through on a big sugar rush!

Daisy, sorry about LO being ill. I imagine it does not mix well with early preg. I'd guess it'd be OK to give her (light) food if she wants it, but agree not dairy (other than BM of course). Even as an adult I find tht dairy products tend to make stomach bugs etc worse, and imagine that may be enhanced in LOs?

Fury, your weekend sounds busy but good. Glad you made it through OK.

LittleMissNorty · 04/03/2008 12:45

Hello all

Bumper What a PITA - I'm with the rest...check out your rights. You are entitled to a good reason if your flexible working request isn't allowed. Have a look here

Daisy - my DD sucks on bread / butter when she's feeling ill and as much water / diayolyte (?sp) as I can get down her. I was told to dilute her formula - but obviously you can't do this! Dehydration is the thing to avoid - the bug will pass through. hope you don't get it

DD had a bad night as well - trip to docs yesterday to get more antibiotics for ear infection as 1st lot didn't quite get rid of it - hence up all night checking temp / giving calpol etc etc so know how you feel Jammy as I'm also trying to stay awake at my desk....

Forgotten everything else I was gonna say ....hello everyone else

Oh M&S have just e-mailed me - SALE on here

LittleMissNorty · 04/03/2008 12:46

Bumper [http://workingfamilies.org.uk/asp/family_zone/flex_work_guide/ try this]]

LittleMissNorty · 04/03/2008 12:48

bollocks sorry

SisterSputnik · 04/03/2008 12:49

Hi LMN, sorry to hear you DD is still poorly, it's never-ending isn't it.

LittleMissNorty · 04/03/2008 12:52

Never-ending is right Sputnik! Just as she finishes, we get it.....

How's your LO today? Getting better?

SisterSputnik · 04/03/2008 13:04

Still snotty, but back to eating and sleeping normally, thank goodness.

LittleMissNorty · 04/03/2008 13:08

That's a relief - I can cope with snot...crusty, runny, gooey, stuck to face, clothes whatever but not eating or sleeping or the lethargic zombie state with a 40 degree temp is horrible. Never knew I was capable of worrying so much...

HellHathNoFury · 04/03/2008 14:30

OMG!
The nursery that DS is currently AT has just had a new ofsted report released - and came out as 'inadequate'!

Nice for £54 per day.
Good job we are moving him!

lackaDAISYcal · 04/03/2008 14:38

that's the one thing no-one tells you about when you are pregnant Norty....how much worry they will cause you

i hope she feels better soon.

DD is better; has been sleeping it off for much of the day and has only had a couple of breast feeds.

Fury, I bet you will be glad when he is somewhere else.
