Glossing is finished huzzah! dad came over and finished it today for me, so I took my parents and the girls to frankie and bennys tonight to say thanks (and avoid cooking tea for myself :-) )

Have a lovely weekend/week or two folkes, I'll be back online on Sun pm or Monday no doubt, but if you're off away enjoy

Fingers x'd for a sunny weekend for us all?

Cadmum · 07/04/2009 12:19

Hello all!

Thanks for the congrats...

DH just received the first piece of mail addressed to Dr Caddy... All rather grand as it has been a long time in the coming!

Very lazy week here as I am way too tired to think clearly... Must try and get more sleep tonight.

Still no word on Scotland or possible promotion. (Dare I imagine that we might be here another 18 months?)

Cadmum · 07/04/2009 12:20

LaundryLover: Woo Hoo about weaning! We are very nearly (but not quite) there.

UniS · 07/04/2009 22:43

Cadmum · 08/04/2009 13:27

Waves back to Uni.

Big congrats to LilSIL. I hope things go smoothly for her.

Frizbe · 08/04/2009 22:23

We had a lovely weekend, stayed at York, did Harrogate Sat am, got bored and headed back to York for pm, then on Sunday went upto Redcar, then got driven to Staithes on the Cleveland coast for lunch, have to say its a very nice small fishing village, the type a bit like St Ives where you keep expecting to see pirates popping out

Today have been back up to Yorks again, visiting friends near Scarborough back to work tomorrow though.....(did work mon pm and tue too!)

Uni, congrats to lil sil

for dh and the mail Caddy

Frizbe · 11/04/2009 17:48

Happy Easter for tomorrow you guys Xmas Smile

Astrophe · 12/04/2009 11:14

Happy Easter ladies! We've had a nice relaxing weekend - went to church this am then met bro and SIL at the beach for coffee this arvo. Was all very nice. Bit of a shocking scene at the cafe though - a baby in a buggy vomited all over the floor and on another customer. Waitress came over, handed the poor mother some paper towel and said "I'm not cleaning that up - its not my responsibility to clean up after your baby!" and then stalked off.

Poor mother started cleaning, then said, actually no, you DO need to do this. She appologised to the woman who was vomited on and left the cafe. Some of the other staff came with mop and bucket and cleaned, and my brother went and complained about the apalling rudeness of the waitress in question.

Frizbe · 12/04/2009 11:22

Happy Easter all

Astro, can't belive the waitress actually did that, wonder if there was an underlying issue there? Glad you had a lovely day apart from that The idea of a beach cafe is sounding wonderful to me, I'm thinking sunshine and sea, roll on end of May Dull grey english day here Might drag kids to park this afternoon, am carless (dh has it) so its whatever is a walk away (not much with little legs, be better when they get older!)

Astrophe · 12/04/2009 12:12

Yes, it was truly bizarre, I wondered too.
Hope you have a nice arvo Friz

Cadmum · 12/04/2009 15:15

Happy Easter from the sunny shores of Lake Leman!

It is beautiful here today... I have rather foolishly trapped myself indoors by starting to bake hot cross buns.

(What was I thinking? Lots of mixing, kneading and waiting for it all to rise X2.)

Frizbe · 12/04/2009 17:25

Caddy you've been reading too many lifestyle magazines! Sounds like a lovely day though

not a bad arvo thanks Am baking Lamb, dh has just informed me we have two extra guests, so thankfully its a large joint (he's been doing this a lot this weekend!) the kids played nicely on the park, though one other family that turned up had I would guess drunken parents, from the parental behaviour eh well it is a bank holiday I presume only in the UK eh
dd2 had a friend from a few doors down come to play for 20 mins or so this afternoon, but they got on fine, so I think her mum may be happy to leave her for longer next time was talking about a re match tomorrow hurrah dd2 has a friend!

Cadmum · 13/04/2009 10:00

Friz: No magazines I'm afraid... Guess I must be cheesy by nature.

Glad your day went well. Lamb sounds lovely. Not so sure about the drunk guests...

Woo Hoo about a friend for your dd2. Dd2 here has recently made one as well and it is SO lovely to watch them play together.

Frizbe · 13/04/2009 19:50

Caddy the friend is great, she's been down again today, the girls are so happy! (dd1 has adopted her too!)

Personally I'm very about the drunken parents on the park.......mind you I did get our guests drunk last night too

Have been to a Pumping Station open day today, better than it sounds, old victorian place, not open to public very often, has park, and steam trains too, plus did an egg rolling competition in return for real chocolate eggs, went down a treat

Dh when he eventually got home, played with the kids nicely outside (not very often this happens, as we're always working) and he did a classic fall off ss's skateboard, in true dad style.

UniS · 13/04/2009 21:06

Waves- lo all.
Sounds like nice easter weekend for all more or less. Eggselant news.
We were staying with lil SiL and BiL, Sil being v sick at 11wks pg, but she did agree/offer to baby sit so Dh and I and Bil went to pub last night. Was bliss- grown up conversation with real ale and no children.
Saw parents in law and other Sil and her tribe on saturday and sunday daytimes. 7 kids from 3-10 yrs- utter bedlam. Ended up having a very english BBQ on suday - sitting in garden with coats on...

Frizbe · 14/04/2009 22:04

for good weekend Uni, sil's not got hyperemesis has she? Flame has been given anti sickness medicine on Feb thread (13wks) maybe she should push for that?

UniS · 14/04/2009 23:09

hyper what?? No idea. I guess I got away very lightly.

Astrophe · 15/04/2009 11:16

Lovely that little DD2s have friends Friz and Caddy - my poor DS has none and talks a lot about his friends back in Derby, bless him. It is good to see the younger ones coming into their own though, isnt it?

Uni, glad you got a night out My sympathies for SIL (and for Flame!). They are quite anti meds here in Aus so I never got any - fine now as I am well and truly over the worst, but might make me not have a 4th!...we shall see.

Well, we walked across the harbour bridge today. The replica of the Bounty (first fleet ship) was sailing about underneath and the kids were soooooo excited to see a real 'pirate ship'! I am totally exhausted now and bump feels like it will drop off the front of me...so heavy!

Frizbe · 15/04/2009 20:27

Astro, you made me snort with that comment about bump I'm sure it won't!
Fab to see the replica ship, my girls would have loved that, dd2 was wearing her 'pirate socks' today, they have skulls n crossbones on them, but also love hearts, which she was stressing were the reason she was wearing them

Uni, its a description of a horrible condition where you throw up or feel very sick for the whole pregnancy, you can get hospitalised if really bad might be worth you looking it up for her?

Astrophe · 16/04/2009 00:14

There is a pic of the pirate ship on FB Friz (not v big though).

Frizbe · 16/04/2009 22:06

will check it out Astro!

Have been cracking on with dd2's bedroom painting today, got 2nd coat on 3 walls this am before work and base coat on for glossing (did that tonight)on Saturdy (girls staying at Mums sat night, whilst I get a night out with mates ) so just dh and ss to deal with the stink in the house! Then once that's done, just one wall left to paint and the skirting and windowledges to gloss, phew....then onto ss's room! I'm a whirling dervish of paint now that I'm started.

Astrophe · 19/04/2009 09:15

Off to the mountains for a week holiday - bliss. No parents! Hope you all have a good week
x

UniS · 19/04/2009 20:09

Hope you enjoy your week in them there hill s astro.

Hi All, and what a lovely spring day it was down here in devon. Boy and I managed to spend 4 or 5 hours pottering about in a town about 25 miles from here. DH took a long cycle ride and met us for lunch. We were going to go swimming but boy changed his mind out side teh pool , so he biked round teh park, across town to teh skate park, throughly enjoyed teh BMX race track!!!! now has gravel rash on his chin to add to all teh other bruises. Then did lunch with DH, sweet shop for a few treats, then back to park while DH toddled off home, boy and I did the playgrounds, played football, explored teh rest of teh park on his bike, had juice from the cafe, and he played on yet another playground. Then Dh phoned asking where we were as he was home again!

laundrylover · 23/04/2009 11:38

We're back and I've just caught up on your chatting. Holiday was great and feel like a new woman.

This weather is fab eh? My garden is looking lovely so have been wandering round with a cup of tea enjoying it and pouncing on weeds. Trying to ease myself back into work slowly...

Have to go and get some shopping as I am creating packed lunches out of store cupboard bits and bobs! Going to go into town and do the cheapy shop rounds as I find it better then the supermarket.

Kiah is doing her first full day at playgroup, courtesy of her gov vouchers, so it costs me £2 for 9-3pm! Good eh?

My sister is coming from Scotland tomorrow with her HUMUNGOUS bump and grumpy baby so will be a busy weekend.

Enjoy the sun while it lasts UK dwellers

LL I am ignoring your pesimistic view of UK weather has been beautiful though, my garden looks a treat, lots of lovely tulips, shame we can't go in it, till the rat catcher has been again (poision down in our garden and neighbours, plus a trap in other garden with dog so kids can't use it) Toll so far is one rat in trap, but its not the one we all have seen! (humane traps, as they have dogs)

Uni your day sounds lovely

Have been busy decorating and dd2's room is now also complete, now onto ss's room! yay. So far can't get a bed for him, I keep trying to order one and its out of stock everywhere! hurumph.
