morning 2 went Ok as well so far as I can tell. I walked in to collect him and he started howling " I want my daddy". Ho hum.
I'm working again on friday but hes with a friend and going to toddlers as normal rather than nursery . I had her boy today in exchange. Took them both to exmouth and wore them out cycling along the sea front.

Kitos mum!¬ blimey, don't they believe in safe sex in their house....

laundrylover · 04/12/2008 23:12

It was planned Uni!!!

Crazy people - they have to build almost a whole new house before this next one arrives too...by themsleves.

Just had two days working in London and had a lovely, uninterrupted night's sleep in a little hotel....bliss.

Off to bed now for the total opposite I suppose...

UniS · 05/12/2008 19:21

ohh,LL lucky you having a hotel night...I'm looking forward to working all next week, not so keen on the driving, its a 45 min each way drive, so I will be home each night, late, and off again in teh morning, early. Fortunatly, most days it just 2 of us so we can van share, I may get away with not having to do much driving my self.
Maybe boy and I will get on better for having had a week apart.

UniS · 06/12/2008 20:50

quote of teh day from boy. AT teh end of watching a winter carnival, boy in backpack carrier complained " me lolly stuck on" His glove had got stick to teh sticky well licked lollypop he had been given by one of teh floats.

laundrylover · 07/12/2008 21:36

Uni,

Sorry to hear that you and the boy are not the best of friends right now . If it makes you feel better, Kiah is a horror too.

DP and I have had to instigate a reward system....we have a cut out Xmas tree and T and K baubles who work their way up to the star (hopefully!) this week! Tilly is doing OK and has passed 'good eating' and 'being polite' today. Sadly Kiah is mostly residing in the plant pot!!! We have 'shouting', 'hitting' and 'fighting' in there and this morning she suggested we add 'throwing'!!!

I had to get out of bed this morning as it all got a bit surreal...my left breast was talking to K's imaginary friend, Ellie, on the phone.

LL your having an interesting sounding time Yay for your sister being preggers again and for your night in hotel, oh for a lovely nights sleep...mind you dh got up with dd2 last night at eeek o clock when she 'wanted a drink'.......

Uni, sorry to hear your not getting along with boy as well, they go thru these phases I guess, not much help at the time though, ours are currently going through lots of I want my daddy, when he's just crawled in from work and vice versa, they all wanted me tonight, just cause I was coming to Meridians to bbsit!

Are you all getting christmasy then? I have the tree, but its still outside at the moment, planning to try and drag it in and decorate it tomorrow. Fingers x'd Santa will deliver me internet access!

Astrophe · 10/12/2008 23:32

Hello from Sydney! Its raining here...no snow though! All a bit surreal to be here again. Combination of travel sickess, morning sickness and jetlag not something I'll be rushing to repeat, but we survived the flights and the kids were great and slept a lot.

Am now on a 6 times a day puke scheduel...how I hate being pregnant.

Hope you guys are all well and enjoying the run up to Chrissy.xxx

laundrylover · 11/12/2008 10:40

Welcome home Astro!

Sympathies on the sickness - it can only last for 7 more months remember.

Tilly was sick in my bed last night. Lovely. Anyway she has gone to school as she was bright as a button this morning when her friends arrived (we have two other 5 year olds on Weds and Thurs!!).

She was a snowman in the play yesterday and was really grumpy as the other snowmen had shop bought outfits and she was dressed in loft insulation and was boiling!! Poor child.

Off to pick up Kiah and embark upon an afternoon of errands...dropping in my and DP's last minute vote on the Manchester congestion charge, banking cheques, stocking the bare shelves etc....

Hello- I'm back, breifly.
Hi Astro , welcome home. glad your flight was OK.
Poor old lofty the snowman. its good for her charcter to have to wear home made fancy dress.... Boy was so warm in his fun fur " dog" that he walked home from a party in short sleves last saturday.

I've just had one of those elusive child free nigts! not quite hotel standard. Dh has taken boy up to see GPs for weekend , I got in from work at 11.30 last night and was picked up again at 9am this morning. so house to myself for 9.5 hours. of which I was asleep for 8. was nice to only have myself to get dressed and washed this morning.

Work has been a busy week of performances ( chior concert, dance show and gymnastics). production manager VERY grumpy at start of week... was worried he might walk off the show at several points. eeeeek if he had done.I kept my head down, got on with my job and stayed calm. Don't think customer will have him back next year tho. So I need to stay in with customer in my own right in hope I can get the design regardless of who supplies the kit.

Boys on their way home now, so I think I shall go and make choc crispy cake to welcome them home.

OH- and boy has reacted to his first week at nursery by refusing the eat dinner there till friday when he had a couple of mouthfulls of spud. Thankfully the staff are fine about him asking for and having extra mid afternoon snack. I think he has had some puddings- days when its been custard or yogurt :-)

Frizbe · 15/12/2008 13:36

Uni well glad to see ds is starting to get over his new lifestyle at nursery starvation gets the better of them eh

Dh and I have decided to cut down a bit on boys xmas pressies after dh bought home a MOUND of large pressies from his family last weekend. not sure where we are going to PUT all teh toys it appears they are giving boy.

Frizbe · 23/12/2008 13:00

for you having to buy less at least Uni.

HAPPY CHRISTMAS to all (or Yule which ever you prefer) hope you have great ones.

All good here, bar dd2 having an inhaler at night, as went to dr's with our coughs last week and its on dd2's cheast apparently, so this is helping her sleep better at night, hopefully its not a long term thing.....

Hopefully be on here more in NY when get new laptop from Santa??

laundrylover · 23/12/2008 13:06

Merry Christmas all

Just popped onto MN and seem to have missed an enormous Moldie scandal. Anyway I've spent too long trying to work out what happened and am giving up!

Stuff to do etc.

Catch up after the big day if we can all locate our laptops under the mountains of new toys - erk!!!

Merry Xmas to all I got my new laptop!

Frizbe · 28/12/2008 10:57

Boo any of you out there? or have the outlaws driven you all nuts?

UniS · 29/12/2008 21:21

driven me nuts.

back home now at last, hurrah. looking frward to life settling down. boy either VVVV tired or virusy or both. hes had day time naps again more days than not over xmas, Even in strange houses on other peoples beds.

Frizbe · 30/12/2008 22:09

Oooh hope he's not virusy for your sake....sorry to hear that you've gone bonkers too!

So what you doing for New Year? We have a few people coming around to ours and a last min addition of an old friend too, but she's not bringing her dh, so hoping he's not taken a turn for the worse, as he has a long term illness, he's staying with family apparently so hoping we can talk and be of some help to her?

laundrylover · 31/12/2008 11:27

Hello, hello and goodbye to 2008!!

We've had a bit of a hectic Xmas -the girls have just fought non stop and are driving us mad . We went to Chester Zoo yesterday and had a bit of a better day (mostly as Kiah slept for 2 hours!!).

Astro - did you enjoy a warmer festive season than us?? The Moldie outrage was because some oldie MNers set up a new site by invitation only and it all kicked off bigtime. Haven't been on MN recently though to see what the outcome was...have a search if you have a spare hour or so!

Well, we are off to friends tonight and the girls are up at my parents...think one of us will have to drive tho as milking the cows interferes with morning baby sitting duties. Friz, I hope your friend is OK and you get some time to chat.

Look at me working away on my day without kids...ha ha! Better get my homework done for my course in London next week.

Happy New Year from the crazy, shouty house and may 2009 bring some peace for all .

Happy New Year! and Ow my head hurts.....totally myself to blame though We had a lovely night at ours with loads of mates around, bodies everywhere this am which the kids enjoyed waking up dd1 got up at 7.30 after we went to bed at 3am so that was a bit of a killer for dh, who crawled out of bed and got the kids food and water, they nicely played in their rooms till 11 after that, intermittantly bouncing on us dd2 was up when we went to bed having her own private party guess we must have woken her up Good night though!

LL sorry to hear that the girls aren't getting on.....ours are doing ok at the mo, bar the odd whinge and whine, but its a mare when they have those days/weeks when they bicker none stop Hope they get past it soon x

Uni, Astro, what did you get upto then? Astro has your stuff arrived in Aus yet?

UniS · 01/01/2009 19:39

Happy new year. Last night Dh and I had a take away from a Chinese restruant (very yummy) and a bottle of wine. just the two of us, watching a strange and beautiful Japanese animated film.

went to bed early and were awoken at midnight by other peoples fireworks.
Today has been pleasant. pottered about the house, did some serious pruning in the garden - have done both apple trees- with boy "helping" by moving sticks around. Then over to a friends for tea and cake. where a 6 yr old girl managed to keep boy and his friend K amused/ quite / busy for an hour of more with out a grown up in the room! all 3 sets of parents hid in the kitchen with the tea and cake, figuring that if any of the kids were not happy with the game they would start shouting. Boy does rather like being bossed about by big girls.

only tale of note from our weekend with in laws. I attempted to throw my self down the stairs in middle of night. IN my sleep befuddled state I mistook the stairs for the open bath room door. OUCH.

I'm not one for new year resolutions, but DH and I are both thinking we could do with losing some wight and getting fitter. guess we need to eat less. Maybe once we have finished the Christmas cheese and chocolates.
ANy one got any more realistic resolutions?

Frizbe · 01/01/2009 21:35

OUCH Uni that must have hurt, not one to recommmend eh!
It's funny how parents end up cowering in the kitchen praying that no one will interrupt the coffee and cake time isn't it
my dd2 got put on the naughty step by my friend yesterday evening, as I was busy with food at the time, was very funny, I've not seen her looking so shocked, scared and bewildered before, she ususally tries to giggle it off, but because it was another adult telling her off, she obviously thought better of it (guess she thinks I'm a pushover eh!)
I've posted a thread in travel, if anyone has time to pop by there, looking for places to overnight in france.
My resolutions are to loose weight (for holiday in June!) although my mother is not helping, as she's just left me with half a chocolate torte and has nicked off with half my lovely M&S lemon cheese cake, which everyone was supposed to eat last night and didn't I'm also going to attempt to write at least 1000 words every two days, be it on my blog, or my general twitterings/writing in my eternal attempts to get something published (I've not been very disciplined in the latter half of 08)
