Any of you want another 2 year old. you can have mine. hes being a right PITA at the mo. over tired I think.
However do have some work lined up for Dec- march and I do now have a nursery place lined up for him as well. so fingers Xed that will all work out OK.

UniS · 17/10/2008 20:23

Oh, Friz. can I pick your brains re event management. roughly what might I expect to pay for a first aider per day?

Astrophe · 19/10/2008 00:00

Hi gals, we are in Spain nw and its RAINNG!!! Poo! Barceona for the next couple of days, and then to Valencia
Kids are a bit ratty - tired I think, and Luie a bit 'over' the lack of routine I thinik, although she had coped well up to now. Have resorted to good ole fashioned bribery to deal with her tantrums (I thought they went when they turned 3!?)...she has a marble jar, and if its fll at the end of the day she gets a Euro to spend.

Lots of love.

boys overtiredness is making sense now. hes grown a cm this week.

laundrylover · 19/10/2008 21:54

Aha Astro but they come back when they turn 4.

Got your email - love the pics, especially the one of L jumping in the sea. Great shot.

Uni - please don't send the boy up north - I really couldn't cope with another!!!!

LL your so right, they do come back when they turn 4....sorry to tell you that Astro! photos please!! I wanna see how much fun your having too

Uni, not sure actually, am in the enviable position of having several volunteer 1st aiders at all of our events. May I suggest you ask St Johns as they'll usually come out for free

So what's everyone else upto then?
Sorry for being AWOL a lot, but no home pc, am on Meridians laptop whilst bbsitting at mo, so looks like once every two weeks on mumsnet for me at the mo.....I can do email at work, but to be honest hardly have time for that either at the moment, which is fab for work really! but very tiring, as life is lots of work and hardly any play....

During the last few weeks, I have managed to miss my friends leaving do (he's off to NZ with his family to live) as dd1 had tonsilitis whilst dh was away (did I tell you already?) so mum wouldn't bbsit her or dd2.....anyway I managed to get to his, to say bye on the Thursday before he went, so at least I eventually got to see him, phew! for no doubt the last time in ages, as it'll cost a packet to get us all to NZ for a holiday....... The girls and I, plus Meridian and her ds did Chatsworth yesterday, which was cold, but lovely, with flurries of leaves all around us, and fantastic colours on the trees, and yummy hot chocolate to drink, with hotdogs for lunch, yum.

Friz, work sounds really busy - but no time for MNing??!!

I'm busy with work too - just been in London for 2 days and then picked up a potential new client on the train home!

Have forwarded Astro's email to you so have a check if you're still online.

Hmmmmm, bath I think with Green and Blacks...

UniS · 21/10/2008 21:41

friz- i'm boking st John's they want 16 quid an hour for 2 people and an ambulance. sounds good to me. Next stop will be sorting out either caterers or night security.

boy still tired and cuddly. I'm tring not t over tax him :-) but he was a very good boy this morning while I did some errands, so he earnt a small packet of haribo . keeps him very happy carrying the packet round supermarket, and he wolfed them on teh way home.
house sale still stalled. BUT our oh so slow potential buyers want to send in an electricin to check teh wiring... which doesn;t sound to me like they re about to pull out. ho hum, we shall see.
Mums and tots are having a dressing up morning on 31st, think I may adapt boys black shee costume to become a spider. Unfortunaytly he got scared by someone in "lazy town" dressed up as a ghost today. serve me right for not watching it with him I guess, I wanted to get cassorole sorted and in oven.

laundrylover · 24/10/2008 09:52

Uni - that does sound positive on the house front....

Full of a cold . Kiah seems to be getting over her tummy bug thank goodness but we're all a bit shattered...roll on half term.

DP has hit his thumb with a hammer and i's making him fel sick.

What a family!!!!

OP posts:
UniS · 25/10/2008 19:49

yep- made boy a spider cossie on wednesday. we did it together. he coloured in the paper shoes and I sewed them on the legs, and legs onto black tabard. Then we stuck bits of black string onto a mask for spiders face.
tryed new soft play place on thursday- in Honiton. rather good. had sit n rides and dressing up clothes and books as well as 3 raeas of soft play. Unfortunately both ball pools had fans driven things in, so boy refused to go in ball pools ( he is fan noise phobic) BUT slides were away from ball pools so he got plenty of fun.
Had family anniversary lunch today ( our weeding ann next Sunday but DH will be going away and we have friend staying) took boy to deli/ cafe place in town. it turned out to be their 1st birthday weekend so they had a juggler in entertaining and free champagne and birthday cake for all.

UniS · 29/10/2008 21:18

waves-
we made "scary eye" biscuits today! putting iceing and chocbuttons on them tomorrow. Boy quite excited about wearing his spider costume on friday for toddlers!

Frizbe · 02/11/2008 15:06

UniS · 02/11/2008 20:02

House sale has fallen apart. our buyers have pulled out. BUM.

laundrylover · 03/11/2008 16:11

Oh Uni what bad news.

Just saying a quick hello as am in a work muddle - have both laptop and PC on desk and still can't find my chuffing notes....

OP posts:
UniS · 03/11/2008 19:29

Dh away- I'm working tomorrow and wed. Grandparents to the rescue. My parenst are on their way down tonight to look after boy for 2 days.... lets hope they all survive.
I've had instrutions to approach the yard& warehouse by the " back gate " tomorrow as the bridge over river Tale got washed away last week on teh front gate route!

Took boy and his balance bike up to teh woods yesterday, along with our unicycles and some friends and their unis. boy and I and 11 yr old T did the "adventure trail" a 2.5 mile single track loop, mostly flat, but swoopy and fun. while dh, K, C, P and Ks 9 yr old son D did teh freeride trail, up to 6 miles of up and down steep ,& technical riding.
Boy had a blast, did some "real " mountain bike stuff and rode through every muddy puddle he could.
Picking a preschool ? are you thinking aboutr it yet? or have you had their names down somewhere since birth? I'm resigning my self to looking round here, seems un likley we will have moved by easter.

Frizbe · 05/11/2008 21:35

for your bad house moving news Uni, really sorry to hear that....hoping you'll pick up a buyer soon, don't suppose its possible for you to rent and still move eh?
Have fun at work at the rain being that bad the bridge got washed away.

LL you found those notes yet then?

I'm still at work, dh is ill, tummy bug, doing the rounds, I'm drinking yakult by the bucket load in the hope of not getting it....which I will, for the weekend when he's away right.....bound to eh......

Astrophe · 08/11/2008 20:24

wow, what a quiet thread...hardley any catching up needed! We are in Clermont Ferrand now, which is beautiful, have just booked a gite in the Loire for a week from tomorrow - are all a little tired of the van in the rain! We will be staying near Amboise, any tips for must see Chataux?

Next stop after Loire is Paris, then D-Day beaches, then back on the ferry on the 23rd...a few nights in Essex with friends, 5 nights back in Derby, then dash to Heathrow...fly to Singapore for 4 nights, then Sydney for the first time in 3 years! Wow - weird its all alost over.

Hope you guys are well! Preschools - there is no free preschool in Aus!!! Arrgh! And placements in preschools are like hens teeth. DD has 2 places for 3 days a week - we need to chose which one we accept when we get there. DS has nothing - 4 year olds get priority, so he probably wont get one until Feb 2010. Come to think of it, we couldn't afford to send them both at once anway - its going to cost us $130 week for DD (£50 ish)

How are your DDs getting on at school LL and Friz?

So sorry to hear about you house move Uni

caddy, how are you getting on?

xxx

laundrylover · 09/11/2008 22:00

We have gone a bit quiet eh?

Sorry that your travels are almost over Astro but I'm sure you'll be enjoying the sunshine in Oz soon.

Friz, I hope you didn't get the tummy bug....

My girls are tired out as I had a Barefoot book party last night which they came to (uninvited!). I got £30 comission to knock off my order and drank too much fizzy wine.

I went here titanic spa on Fri/Sat with 3 friends. We had a fantastic time although one of the girls got sick after our very hot (and naked) mud bath!!!

DP been off on a stag do (he is best man in 2 weeks) and I am cross 'cos they went to a strip club. DP didn't pay for private dance but most of them did and some of them have daughters...not something I can get my head round I'm afraid. Anyway he went to bed at 8.30pm so he wont be awake when I lap dance my size 8 body into the bedroom.

Just saw Jackstini on another thread and she is 7 months pregnant.

HI all-
Astro- so near teh end of your travels!
Friz- hope the shops keeping you busy and offline.
LL- spa!!!!

I've been ill. had gypy tum all weekend and felt very sorry for myself. on the mend now.

Did 1st preschool visit today. quite liked it, but its a fair old hike to get there. going to the only really local one tomorrow. Boy will be all preschooled out by the end of the week.

laundrylover · 12/11/2008 09:38

Uni, go for the near one if it seems OK...I speak from my year's experience of making 3 children run to school in the rush hour.

Tummy bugs everywhere eh? I blame the anti-bac obsessed nation that we live in. They make even us anti cleaning brigade poorly!

The sun is out - must put second lot of washing in pronto...

Hello! I was wondering the other day if there were any of the March '06 ladies still about and you're here!! . (I was Catj back then).

Despite dd4's rocky start she is ticking along quite nicely and terrorising her sisters! I am now pregnant again and due in 5 weeks time .

Astrophe · 13/11/2008 21:29

Cadmum · 14/11/2008 12:11
