The cat smell should be easy to shift. Maybe the litter needed changing? All the best with the offer!

Poor boy indeed! OUCH!! I hope they heal quickly. Do you have arnica?
We have similar tiredness issues with a certain girl in this house too. She does not want to nap in the afternoon but is miserable by tea time and then wants to sleep until 9:30 am or beyond!

Frizbe · 28/04/2008 16:53

Oh how I wish dd2 would sleep that long bed at 7 last night, with no daytime naps, awake till 8pm then up at 5.30am
(bet she's napped at nursery!)

Uni, reckon cat smell should shift fairly easily. for ds's poor old nose and eyes, its horrible when they do things like that. Dd1 used to spend weeks at a time tripping over, when she had a growth spurt (just to warn you)

LL hope you had a great time, take Caddy up on that offer I'm tempted to

Caddy I hope I've not put your dh off please go and have the snip Caddys dh! On that note I'll tell you that dh is at home in bed, with whalloping bruising, as his own fault, he insisted on being at work, Sat (with me and we were busy and training our friend to cover as well) and Sunday, when he really could have been at home with the kids, he insisted on being at work too, thus the right bits have not been rested enough All he had to do was lie down for a few days MEN!

Cadmum · 28/04/2008 17:05

Bruising?!?! {shock] OUCH! I will really have to steer DH clear of this thread now!

Frizbe, you are always welcome! In fact we are going home for 3 weeks this summer and the house will be empty if you want a place to 'vacation'... Not that I am suggesting in any way that I wouldn't rather have you round when we are home!

LL I did get your email. Sorry about the tension in your house. I suspect that the roles are reversed in our household because I am the one who is always unhappy...

Astrophe · 28/04/2008 17:09

Angelina was lovely - only one melt down each for the girls (not during the performance, but on the way there/back on the train, and at pizz express), and mates DS was perfect, so a good day

Got back to very ill DH, who went to GP and has got chicken pox!!!! Arrgh! As if man flu is not bad enough! Had a major show down with DH last night as well - things have bee pretty tense this week - just so tired of trying to keep things together, jolly everyone along, take the initiative for everything etc, and once I started I got so angry/upset I was shaking and a bit hysterical, and he just sat and listened - didn't argue. He is such a great man sometimes, but his tendency towards laziness and his fear of confrontation/change will be the death of us Anyway, heres hoping I have rattled him into making some changes. I was shaking so much after I had to have a large vodka and go to bed!

House Uni? Offer accepted?

Friz - 5am I didn't realise you had such early risers at your house! Sympathies.

LL - glad you had a blast in Brum (which I gather is Burmingham?)

Caddy - mailed ya! finally!

I have suddenly got a bit edgy about DD's Pre School for next year (having previously been very relaxed) - there is no free pre school in Aust, and they are over subscribed, and as we don't know where we will be living I've now decided to enroll her in as many as we can, in different areas, so that we will hopefully live near one of them! Have enrolled in 4 now, still waiting for info on a 4th. Hope DH gets a job in Sydney before fees are due!

Cadmum · 28/04/2008 17:09

ARGH! DD2 was helping with my post!

LL's message had nothing to do with email!! (or tension for that matter!!) How was Brum? Your night in the hotel? The pool?

Astro: Please see my previous post addressed to LL thanks to creative 2 year old! I laughed and laughed when I saw how you signed your first name... I will never see astrophe in the same way again. Very creative!

Astrophe · 28/04/2008 17:10

are the last two coment directed at LL actually for me Friz and Caddy)???

Astrophe · 28/04/2008 17:14

re my name. You know Caddy, its not his unhappiness that bothers me so much (although it gets me down) its his unwillingness to talk about it or do anything to change it, or even acknowledge it sometimes. Having said that, I guess moving back to Aus is a big change, and he thinks he will be happy there

Frizbe · 28/04/2008 17:25

Caddy, how I would love to take your house whilst your away (would also like to see you too though!!) but don't think this summer is the summer to do it (pencil me in for next year though) am already in bad books with dh, cause a) we weren't suppoesd to be taking any hols, bar the one we have booked in a caravan that includes ss and of course I am now doing b) one night in Paris with dd1, then c) Three nights in Mallorca with the GP's....Friz tiptoes away quietly....

Astro for Dh having the Pox, and you having to loose your rag at him, to get him to listen/motivate himself. I really hope you guys sort things out on your trips around Europe and when you move back to Aus. I can just see me explaining to dh, the need for a long weekend in Sydney with LL, Uni and Caddy to cheer you up maybe we could meet in Singapore, kinda halfway ladies eh?

laundrylover · 28/04/2008 17:33

I'm too confused to post....who am I? Who have I been emailling?? Come on ladies, I go off line for afew days and it's all gone to pot!

Brum was fun, great to catch up with my old friend - pool and hotel was a bit grotty on the first night but we sat in the jacuzzi and sauna for ages chatting. Went to ASK pizza for dinner as was opposite hotel and then straight to bed.

The training course was really good and with a great bunch of people - hotel for this was brand new and very posh. Got very pissed after dinner and picked up an admirer from the course - a 58 year old rock band manager. Didn't have the energy or the inclination to act but did my ego a world of good.

OMG my boobs nearly exploded and gradually got bigger and bigger over the two days. Kiah must be having more milk than ever I think. Had to express in the shower.

DP is at a party with the girls and due back soon so better go and wash breakfast pots. Have been house clearning again today but my house is filling up with crap every time I go over there. Am sitting looking at tripods on ebay as have one here to sell....might get £100 I think.

OP posts:
laundrylover · 28/04/2008 17:34

Astro, forgot the pox - it's going round here too so hoping the girls get it. DP had it as an aduklt when we were in South Africa - quite poorly.

Friz, Singapore is certainly a step further than Chatsworth House.

OP posts:
Astrophe · 28/04/2008 17:44

seeing as I am at least an hour late to all mets, which then last a few hours, do expect me to be at least 2 days late to the Singapore one

I'm sure we will sort things out to a degree, just whether I accept things as they are and get on with life, or manage to rattle his cage sufficiantly to make some changes - that is the question.

Cadmum · 29/04/2008 11:11

Astrophe,

I am really sorry that your DH has the Chicken Pox BUT this could really account for some of his recent mood. (I do know that some of his frump predates the virus but it is really, really evil in adults.) One of my closest friends had it last year and she was an emotional mess from about 10 days before the spots appeared and the GP said that this is normal with the pox.

No time for more posts as ds1 is having me dictate his spelling and I just said pox instead of enough...

Frizbe · 29/04/2008 14:05

lol Caddy, I hope you didn't ruin his school book for him

Astro, ok 2 days for Singapore then, I'll just have to go for a week

LL yay! you pulled great ego boost, so btw what the hell was the course to also have a rock band mgr on it??? Shame about grotty hotel......

Having myself a quick lunch break here, so just off for a quick scan of the talk board before I crack on, or get customers!

laundrylover · 29/04/2008 14:16

If we're going for a week we may as well meet in Oz!!

Rock band manager was also a parks and heritage lottery expert - bit of an old punk yeah? Training was for Lottery assessment job...

OP posts:
Frizbe · 29/04/2008 14:23

Ok, so its now a mumsnet holiday in Aus, lol, can you see us explaining this one to our partners......

Frizbe · 29/04/2008 14:30

www.trausseminervois.com/index.html from the thread on the talkboards if anyone still needs to book a holiday

UniS · 29/04/2008 21:41

Duh, I was busy agreeing with dh that going to NZ for christmas 2009 was not a great idea, might have to change my mind now if we're all going to OZ..
House offer NOT accepted due to us not being in a position to move forward till w sell this one. however it seems the sum we offered was about OK. Have put rocket up our agent, have them coming round for mre photos on thursday and we now have a sale board and have dropped our price. watch this space...
2 black eyes, colouring nicely now. creche workers asked me about them!

Astrophe · 29/04/2008 22:14

oh dear re black eyes! DS walked into door frame the other day, and I felt very sus saying 'he walked into a door' to folk who asked!

Hopefully the house you want wont sell fast, and you can get yours moving quickly. My Dad has worked in Pooperty for many years, and whenever he sells a property (through an agent), he always offers them a bonus (either a %, or flat figure) if they get over a certain price for it, or if they sell it by a certain time. Says money moves things. Maybe something to think about if things don't happen soon?

DH is still pretty crook - moaned and groaned all night, so I didn't get a wink either, and then I had a migraine this am, so we missed toddlers group, hence ratty children, bored at home all day Feeling better now though, and have promised DD baking in the morning, and a trip to the park if its fine.

laundrylover · 30/04/2008 09:42

Your poor boy with his panda eyes Uni.

Astro, hope your DH is on the mend soon - we had our poxy neighbour round to play yesterday and he is absolutely covered in spots the poor thing. I've never seen so many chicken pox and was worried about trying to get my girls to catch it!! Maybe they should wait around for a milder version.

OP posts:
Frizbe · 30/04/2008 21:30

better sooner than later LL

sorry to hear dh really bad again Uni, mines suffereing too, if thats any help at all?

Uni about house, but interesting insight from Astro there, hope it can help?

Caddy, bet you're glad not to be living in Austria any more with the latest news coverage 3rd such case in as many years, jeeez, I think they should have a mandatory search of all Austrian basements now, see how many other missing kids and adults are held in that country, makes your blood run cold very scarey.

Ok, so you want a laugh then, today there I am at swimming with dd2, feeling toned after hula and pilates last night. I was just finishing getting changed, when another mum wonders in and says, oooh I hear congratulations are in order, when are you due and there was I thinking I wasn't looking that lumpy She looked suitably embarrased and said another mum had told her I was and she must be confused I think it was my sticking out belly personally the top half is toning, but the bottom bit is still being worked on!

Astrophe · 30/04/2008 21:38

oh no Friz! I'm sure she didn't think you looked preggers, just that somone had told her you were. Bet you look fab, with all those classes you do. (I haven't been for ages, and am stil waiting for the rain to stop so we can walk to nursry!)

DH still grotty. Could be a while methinks - GP has signed him off for 2 weeks.

Had a big stressy atack about preparations for leaving last night - wrote a list of things to do...today I have done the two things that involve spending money online , and thats all (twas buying DD's birthday present, and Christmas presents for the kids which we will ship back - playmobil, which is a bit harder to get in Aus).

Lots more to do, and I swore I would NOT MN tonight and would get moving with the shipping, but its getting late now...

LL - shall wait for the news of pox/no pox in 2 weeks or so! Wondering if DS will come down with it here, or if he had a secret bout, and passed it to his Daddy?

UniS · 30/04/2008 21:45

Ouch friz, bet that hurt.
have done a load of filing and tidying, still need to do living room, est agent coming tomorrow to take more pics.
Am wondering if a house in this area will ever sell , trying not to think ahead to things in new location but thinking about what might be if we stay here- ie which preschool and when.
Had a good afternoon out at soft play today- took boy and his friend J + Js mum and Lil bro. Its worth going with a car full, feel guilty if its just boy and I. both boys liked having a friend the same size to run around with.

Sympathy to those with poxy neighbours, dhs and kids. DO not sent it my way, I want to go on hoilday in 2.5 weeks time.

Frizbe · 30/04/2008 22:00

Tell me about it Uni, I'm liking Astros way of looking at it though

Astro, what month do you actually go then again? is it July? are you boxing everythinhg and shipping it, then getting the the Bongo and going, or are you returning briefly after the Bongo trip, then heading back?

Astrophe · 30/04/2008 22:35

we leave beginning of August (3rd?), so everything needs to be boxed up/sold first. We are not taking very much - 10 cubic meters costs more than £1000! This is why I'm stressed - where do I start? Do I try and measure everything? Or just get 10cms worth of boxes, fill them, and car boot the rest? Not sure where to start (hence, still on internet, faffing).

UniS · 01/05/2008 21:50

decide how much you want to spend on shipping, buy the boxes, what doesn't fit doesn't go... Car boot sale sounds sensible.
