South West Mummys - Octo et al, I am going to go to Puxton Park tomorrow if anyone fancies meeting up, no worries if busy as is short notice.

It is near Congresbury (Weston Super Mud junction on M5) if anyone in the area:

I will be the one chasing my tail running after 3 kids (6, 3 and Leo)

oooggs · 15/02/2008 09:20

Sexonlegs · 15/02/2008 09:30

Hi all just dropping in before I should really get off my arse and dress the girls and do something with them. Have the man coming to check our burglar alarms, but it is between 9 and 1, so could be a long day in the house. I had forgotten that B was off today.

Half term is next week for us.

Eddas, good to see you. Hope dd's head is ok.

Better go....

Hi WCL!!

NorthernLurker · 15/02/2008 09:37

Morning all

Off to meet my friend and her two little ones in town in a bit so will have to be quick. Dh has man flu but I ordered him into work - the reason I know it's manflu? Because I've got it as well - and know it's just a chesty sneezy thing - not great but not lethal!!! Pretty good night with B - she didn't wake till 1.30 then had a feed and a doze with me till 2.30 then I put her in the travel cot downstairs because she was flapping around and she slept till after 7. I'm having to do a distressing amount of housework atm as we have a house viewing tomorrow (fingers crossed....) really kicked butt in the girls room yesterday! It looks lovely as I managed to reorganise their toys a bit. I've also cleaned the hoover filter really well so it's doing a great job and not overheating - it's all so tedious though isn't it?

Dippy - great work with the interview and the ducks - praying for good news. What sort of thing did they ask?

Elkie - ugh to weird card - how horrid!

Pesha - £40 how - no sign of it?

SPB - when will your bathroom be finished?

Eddas - I've heard that about egg bumps too - think it's that its good because all the swelling and therefore the pressure is going outwards not inwards

Hello to everyone else! Have lovely days wherever you are!

Eddas · 15/02/2008 10:04

ooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo

Radio one's big weekend's in MAIDSTONE dh would LOVE to go to that.

Off to register for tickets

CaptainDippy · 15/02/2008 10:05

Morning all!

NL - they asked ..... erm ..... erm .... it is all such a blur - I know they asked my to describe a time that I organised an event and how it went and if I did it again what would I do differently. They also ask to talk about my experience with finance and money handling I really can't remember too much more They were a friendly enough bunch. I soooooooo hope I get it. Eeeeek!

What is everyone up to today? I am in with sleeping P this am and then off for a play date at one of the older 2's friend's from Pre-School's house this pm.

Still feel weird and grotty.

elkiedee · 15/02/2008 10:50

Morning all

D is having more practice being with his CM but I will get him in 40 minutes to take him swimming. He woke at 5 am this morning and I think he's having another bout of teething trouble (he already has 8 but there's however many more to come!) I'm so tired. I rescheduled the appointment for a smear test for next week as I won't be taking D swimming that day but do have nice plans for later on.

I hope that they give you the job Dippy, we'll be waiting anxiously for news on Monday.

Hope everyone has a lovely day, I'm hoping to meet someone we first met when she was 40 + 1 with her son last August/September and it will be the first time I've met him (we is me and D).

runnyhabbit · 15/02/2008 10:52

Morning all

Have been very busy filling out forms etc for the job centre and various jobs. Have jot an interview on Monday. Only temp, 3 days a week, but at least it would bring some cash in.

CD Thank you for the ducks. Dh used to think we were all a bit mad. The ducks have now confirmed his suspicions, lol Fingers crossed for the job x

elkie What a weirdo!

eddas W had been waking up anywhere in between 12am and 3pm, and the only thing that would get him back to sleep was coming into bed with us. Dh was convinced he was teething Put him into a sleeping bag last night, instead of using sheets. Turns out he was actually cold

Got a bit of a dilemma. The job centre need to fill in a form stating why I voluntarily left my old job. The woman told me that I need to put everything in. But also told me that my old boss may (or may not) be asked to complete the same form. I rang my boss, told him he might have a form sent. He said no worries, he'll call me when he gets it to make sure we both say the same thing.
But, I'm thinking should I tell jc about not being paid on time/correct amount? pnd/tiredness? feeling physically sick at the thought of travelling? unable to work from home? cost of travel to work/childcare?
And should I tell my old my boss as well, so he's not totally shocked when he sees all my reasons for leaving?

Really don't know what to do

CaptainDippy · 15/02/2008 11:03

Have fun, Elkie!

Oh runny - a dilemma - It is good that your boss have agreed to liase with you on the forms - that is a start ..... Sounds like you need to phone him / her up for a "proper" chat; but you only need to say what you feel comfortable with saying, iyswim!!? You only need to put one or two reasons - and the health reasons you have already stated seem reaonsable to me - that the travelling was getting you down and making you feel low; and that you were finding juggling chilcare and a demanding job very difficult. You left because you needed a change of perspective - there's nothing wrong in that, runny! Glad you are enjoying the ducks!! My DD1 wants to know if you have given them names yet!!?

AngeG · 15/02/2008 11:11

Morning all

Haven't been on for a few days and not a chance of me being able to catch up.

Glad the interview went well Dippy.

That's all I can remember

Had a good few days here, have sorted out our paperwork and filed it all. A job that I started when pg, but couldn't face, so shoved (sp) it all in carrier bag and hid it

DH went out on our own for a meal last night, which was lovely. Mum and Dad had both dc over night I settled Izzy at 7pm before I left and she slept straight through til 7am (at least I think she did, mum didn't say different in her text this am) Jake woke at 4.30am for something but went straight back to sleep.

So atm I'm sat here on my own. If Izzy is ok they won't be bringing her back til 1pm when they drop J at nursery. I had a lie in til 9.45 and only got up then because the plumber was coming at 10.30am, needless to say he isn't here yet

Sorry for such a selfish post, will try and keep up more!!

Eddas · 15/02/2008 11:12

oooggs i'm ok thanks, just tired, but nothing compared to your tiredness

SOL hope the alarm man has been already we have half term next week too. Can't wait Good job i'll be at work for 2 afternoons

NL hope you enjoy your day. My dh always has manflu[rolls eyes] Men! I'd send him to work too

CD i wouldn't remember the questions either, brain like a sieve! Fingers crossed for you

Elkie they get 20 teeth so plenty more left yet hope d was ok at the cm's

RH lol at teething but being cold ooopps When ds was first born I kept forgetting the routine, check nappy/hungry/tired. I'd do the 2nd 2 but it was always the nappy Re you form, I think i'd tell my boss exactly what i'd written on the form. Even send him a copy?

Eddas · 15/02/2008 11:14

x-post ange, glad you had a good night and hope you enjoy dc free time I do that with my paperwork too Then I file it all away randomly. DH walks in the room and wonders what the hell i'm doing as there's piles of paper EVERYWHERE

CaptainDippy · 15/02/2008 11:15

Ooooh, Ange - I was honoured to be the only thing you remembered!! Ooooh, your evening / night / morning sounds lovely! enjoy the pece and quiet!

runnyhabbit · 15/02/2008 11:17

Thanks dippy

Don't think I'll mention the wage issue. But really like the "change of perspective" angle. Tbh it did cross my mind being a sahm, but have totally realised it's not for me. I know I could tell my boss about my pnd (as a person, he's actually quite understanding)

Think I'll right all my reasons out, re-read them (and post on here?) then send a copy to my boss.

Btw, have not name the ducks yet She can name them for us

runnyhabbit · 15/02/2008 11:21

lots of x-post

the boys are with my mum and dad today, so really need to get cracking with housework and job applications

oooggs - think it was you asking about potty training? well, its not too bad (touch wood) he's been dry in nursery and at my parents, but a few accidents at home (about 2/3 a day since Monday) But progress is def being made!

CaptainDippy · 15/02/2008 11:22

No, I wouldn't mention the "wage issue" either - people get so funny when it comes to money iykwim!!? Do post your "reasoning" on here if you would like one or two of us to read and comment; but only if you happy to do it!! Think the "change of perespective" angle is definitely best and telling your boss about the PND, especially if you know he will be understanding would help too!

DD1 would like to call the ducks Barney, Quack and Phoebe!!!!

runnyhabbit · 15/02/2008 11:30

lol

really must go and do stuff

if I come back on here, kick me off

please!

AngeG · 15/02/2008 11:34

That should say DH and I went out on our own!!!

Plumber is here now!

StealthPolarBear · 15/02/2008 11:42

hi everyone
runny - at that form, can they do that?? I know you sometimes have to say why you left, but to send your boss the same? shouldn't that be part of the reference?
hi everyone else. been up since 5.45 and just been to bf group where t has been crawling like a maniac, so hopefully hes about to have a looooong sleep

StealthPolarBear · 15/02/2008 11:43

wow at your meal and lie in ange - you deserve it!

CaptainDippy · 15/02/2008 11:46

Hope so SPB xx

oooggs · 15/02/2008 11:59

runny - well done J

lunch time then off to the park to meet friends

tidied out the inside of the car this am with dts watching in the pushchair - what a mess!!!!!! ds1 hoovered the boot and swpet the garage.

He's up the chimney later

hi Ange - wow at a lie in

cool names dd1 of Dippy

katy - that was a bit early

Pesha · 15/02/2008 12:07

SOL - my dc have inset day today and half term next week, and they're driving me sodding crazy already!!! N has chucked bubbles out the back door, strewn clothes all round the house, spread glitter everywhere and I've no idea where he even got it from And he has already eaten 2 bowls cereal and about 3 apples and 2 bananas i think and drunk several huge cups of milk He said he had a tummy ache earlier cos he'd eaten too much then literally 5 seconds later he announced he was just going to have 1 more apple!! D is refusing to sleep and M is doing her usual of constant talking, bossing everyone around and she actually slapped N earlier cos he accidently hurt her

And all this while I'm trying to fill out application forms and get my sodding printer to work without getting ink streaks all over everything

And my house is an absolute shit tip and i still feel knackered and grumpy and really could do with going back to bed and curling up on my own forever a few hours!

Sorry for big rant - had to do it to someone before my head exploded!!

CaptainDippy · 15/02/2008 12:10

Sounds like you need to GET OUT Pesha!! xx

StealthPolarBear · 15/02/2008 12:11

Pesha - can you sit them infront of the TV and bribe them not to disturb you for an hour unless an emergency?
