Well Scott TYG and I were attempting to meet up the other week but we had to cancel, lets try again.

What do you think TAM, JL, SCOOT, TYG?

Pebblemum · 11/02/2008 10:53

Morning

I am so organised today I dont know what has happened Usually on a Monday morning everything goes wrong but today I was up nice and early, got the kids ready, got Alana down for a nap by 9.30 (she still has a bad cough so is more tired than usual) and have done all my ironing, dusting and hoovering, the last load of washing is on and Ive got a few minutes peace to get on here Im sure something will go wrong somewhere to spoil it lol

I think the fact the sun is shining may have helped motivate me. Its lovely here so Im going to make the most of it and take a walk into town once ive dropped E at pre-school.

J was moaning last night that he has never had a Valentines card, he is only 10 lol but apparantly most of his friends have had them and hes feeling left out He even opened up and told me that there had been a girl at school that he had fancied but that he had been too scared to ask her out and now shes left. My little boy is growing up fast, thought he was only really interested in football

MumtoCharlotteMay · 11/02/2008 11:53

Hello all

I have no chance to catch up so I'll have to go from here! I do appologise. Spent the week in London and had an amazing time. Got back yesterday, found myself very overwhelmed by just how much I'd missed C. Spent the week at a school in Newham doing some work experience and really enjoyed it, the children couldn't have been any nicer. My dad actually used to live around the area when he was a little chap, so it was intersting to see just how much it had changed from his stories.

Many of the kids had English as there second language and the fair majority were Muslim. Which only became a problem when a little boy called Marin started probing my boobs asking very loudly 'What's that? What's in there? Why do you have them?' I'm guessing his mum must cover up or something because they were all new to him lol! I'll never forget it, neither will the rest of the teachers who witnessed it!

Good to be home but my mums kidneys have packed in again. Think she's to go in for some more scans, and she's off work in a lot of pain. I'm playing nurse to C, my mum and a stroppy teen. Do I wish I'd stayed in London? Nooooooooooo, not me, nuh uh, never, ever, ever!

Hope all are well x

TillyScoutsmum · 11/02/2008 12:01

Hi all. Hope everyone had good weekends.

We are in the midst of an absolute snotfest here... How can one little nose produce soooo much snot ?! We had a whole 3 weeks without any illness so I suppose it was about time for another cold . Poor little tyke

Pebblemum · 11/02/2008 12:19

Tilly Alana is the same, ive already had to change my top twice due to the snail trails she leaves on me whenever she comes up for a cuddle

M2CM glad you enjoyed London but sorry to hear about your mum, hope she starts to feel better soon

largeginandtonic · 11/02/2008 12:23

Thought we had scared you off Tilly

AM am so of Harrods and the KK's and ver, very of your visit to Claridges. Lucky LUCKY you. Bet it was lovely to have a break from the kids.

Glad you had a nice week away CMmom, did your mom and sis have Charlotte? Hoep your mom is ok, kidney pain is no fun.

I have taken dd to the hospital this morning for her blood tests, she was sobbing Hope it all shows up clear, her emtional and academic testing last Friday went well, she is ok with everything just a couple of years behind on the emtional maturity. We had guessed that.

Off to toddlers this afternoon, Jacob back to school, wahooooo!!! I can leave the house again.

B is escaping all over the house, he has realised we have a hall god damnit

mom2latinoboys · 11/02/2008 12:43

Good morning everyone. I have an idea. How about we have a meetup on my side of the pond. I'll go to JFK airport and wait for everyone. Or maybe I'll get pictures of everyone and set them up at my table. And talk to myself for a while. If you couldn't tell am very .

Well yesterday was weird day. First it was beautiful, then it was nasty and snowy and windy. From the window at work I actually saw someone flying a kite.

I did sleep well though because Mateo woke up screaming from a nightmare so I brought him our bed and we snuggled all night.

Hope everyone is having a good day. Alright now what to have for breakfast.

cameroonmama · 11/02/2008 16:08

Haha M2LB, you're just having brekkie and I'm about to have my supper

April, it sounds sooo wonderful, good on the pair of you to make such time for yourselves.

Tam I'm glad you've sorted out your little 'problem' I even passed on the compresses and boil tips to a lady at school today

M2CM, good to see you getting in some experience, have you definitely decided what to study now? Hope your mum is soon better and all the snotty nosed ones and Scoot and her back or there'll be no more hair singeing for her. More importantly Scoot, how did it go with your boss????

LG&T, what are they testing dd for? Blood tests are miserable for kids, dd would sympathise with her.

How about a meetup here as well? You could all do a round-the-world trip

I bought a swanky new flatscreen tv today, probably you've all already got one, but we are always a bit behind technology wise! Now all i need is my container of crap beautiful things from home to turn up...

cinnamontam · 11/02/2008 19:36

Scoot - how did the meeting go with your boss?

Lupins71 · 12/02/2008 06:46

pPebble - Awwww at J, that is so cute bless him

LGT why the tests, sorry must not have caught up on that bit, hope evrything is ok

CAM would love to visit you, dont think its quite in the budget at the mo

Well I have woken up with a sore throat, stonking headache and feeling achey - not condusive to packing up a house - especially as my uncle has said he will drive the lorry but only at the weekend, that gives me 4 days to pack the whole house up, arghhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh nooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo, the landlords are filling up our oil tank for us lol OH GOD am i cut out for country living

Arlen has started throwing himself forward onto his front and seems to think you crawl backwards lol, i gefinatley think he will be walking before he crawls properly

Have a great day all i am going to get buried in boxes

Lupins71 · 12/02/2008 06:51

is anyone else having trouble keeping thier lo's drinking enough milk, am not worried as he is thriving but he is not too interested in it even 1st thing in the morning when you'd think he'd be starving

AprilMeadow · 12/02/2008 08:57

Better get self sorted for a fun morning at work.

TTFN x

TillyScoutsmum · 12/02/2008 10:05

Morning all.

Lups - packing a house up in 4 days !? You poor brave lady. It'll all be worth it when you're out in the sticks listening to the birdies tweet. I always thought I was a city gal but I love being in the country. I saw the first lambs in the field next door this morning ...not sure why but new lambs make me feel broody ( not that I'm into sheep or anything weird )

M2LB - I am so up for a meet up in NYC. My SIL is having her hen weekend there in May and it sounds fab.

LG&T - I'm not easily scared me Sorry about the blood tests. I'm such a wuss with needles so I can imagine your dc's aren't too impressed

Pebble - Hope the snot trails are getting better

Tilly was horribly sick after her milk feed last night. Proper Exorcist style vomiting all over me, her and the carpet. I don't do sick ... Poor lamb. She didn't seem unduly concerned by it though but it took a while to get her off to sleep and then she woke up hungry at 5 am

Hope everyone else is ok and interviews, meetings with boss and boils are all going well

Just out of interest, how many of our May babies are crawling ? Not sure whether Til can be arsed. She's a bit of a lazy tyke (not sure where she gets that from ) and she's also a chunky monkey - there's a fair but of weight to support on two little hands or feet. She's not showing many signs of crawling and has no interest at all in standing up. Oh well, suppose I should enjoy her immobility whilst it lasts

Lupins71 · 12/02/2008 10:49

AM will email you my addy you will laugh at the name lol, dont worry about KK I am attempting to be good

Tilly I saw lambs on the way down their - cant say they have the same effect on me lol cut they are cute

largeginandtonic · 12/02/2008 12:03

DH woke with the chicken pox this morning! He is covered, prety sure i can see a few dodgy spots on Beau too FECK.

largeginandtonic · 12/02/2008 12:04

aAAARRRRGGHHHHH they are coming out as we speak!!!!!!!!!!!!!

TillyScoutsmum · 12/02/2008 12:33

Oh noooooo... Your poor DH (and Beau)... Really not v. nice in adults though. Have you had them already ?

largeginandtonic · 12/02/2008 12:35

Ihave thank goodness! The other 4 dc have had them too, phew!

Lupins71 · 12/02/2008 13:11

LGT oh no your poor dh and beau - sending them virtual calamine and chamomile, hope its not too bad!

Lupins71 · 12/02/2008 13:13

have just convinced dp to let me sell the ps3 - he only played it once and we have just found out that to fill up the oil tank at the new house is £210 arghhhhhhhhhhhhhhh which we dont have handy atm, but we may have found a cheaper lorry - but not much cheaper

Pebblemum · 12/02/2008 14:28

LG&T Dont know who I feel more sorry for, dh or you, we all know what men are like when they are ill lol. Hopefully Beau wont be too affected by it.

Noticed a few strange red pimple like spots on Alana last night but they were only near the edge of her nappy so I put it down to heat but when I got her dressed this morning ive noticed that she has a large cluster behind her knee and quite a few up her body and in her hair. Asked the chemist what they coud be but he couldnt be arsed to take a proper look and just said that babies get rashes sometimes and that she was smilin so it couldnt be anything serious Pretty sure its likely to be a viral rash due to her snotty nose and cough but will keep an eye on them. I know there is a lot of things doing the rounds at E's pre-school, in a week theres been letters home about mumps, chicken pox, hand, foot and mouth, slapped cheek and half the staff are off sick.

E had his first proper haircut today, usually I do it, he likes having it shaved like dh and J but today I convinced him to let the lovely lady in the hairdressers do it. He opted for a short prickly style (that was how he described it to the hairdresser)He looks so cheeky. All the way home he kept touching it and asking if it was still prickly, he even made me put a bit of gel on it before he went to pre-school just so that it would stay looking good. Think i have a vain little boy on my hands, he already has to look at himself in every mirror or window we pass and he tells everyone he is gorgeous (which of course he is lol)

Pebblemum · 12/02/2008 14:34

Meant to say Lupins that Alana still doesnt show mch interest in her milk but offer her food and she will eat it all up. On average she will have around 16 oz a day but she only manages that because i use 4oz in her cereal. The only bottle she finishes is her last one before bed

cameroonmama · 12/02/2008 15:38

oooooohhhhhh LG&T just when you thought it was safe to get out of the house again At least Beau and dh had the courtesy of having them at the same time.

Lups, good luck with the packing, its the unpacking at the other side I hate the most.

Scoot, what news??

Tilly, my J is absolutely enormous but has just learnt to crawl. Everyone here is amazed he can move his mountain of weight If i were you, i would celebrate and enjoy the fact you have no movement yet!
