Sorry, best I could come up with in between making tea and trying to get Lils off to bed before the football starts...

OP posts:

Pinkjenny · 06/02/2008 20:38

Hi all

Thanks for the kind words regarding my therapy. Feel very American.

L is full of cold, major snotfest at our house. Refuses to take Calpol, would rather chew my phone, the sponge, the remote, everything. Still only crawling backwards and sideways, but her weight bearing is coming on nicely, as we were obviously conscious of it because of her hips.

Her dance moves are coming on a treat though, she loves a little bop! Like her mother!

She's also fine after the bed incident. I have to confess to taking her to a & e on Monday, where she was given a clean bill of health. Surprisingly...

Juicylucytoo · 06/02/2008 21:32

O started moving backwards today - not sure you could call it crawling though

My sleep problems go on and on

On which note, off to bed. Am rubbish mum, can't last more than 5 mins of crying at night before giving in and feeding

mom2latinoboys · 06/02/2008 21:35

I like the new title scoot and we were in need of a new thread anyway.

TillyScoutsmum · 06/02/2008 21:55

Can I join in please ??

Bit of a newbie to MN (been posting for a few weeks). DD born 2nd May and is my PFB

Still not sleeping through [bloody knackered emotion] but a little angel during the day

AprilMeadow · 06/02/2008 22:04

Welcome to the maddest thread around TSM! I will add you to the birthday spreadsheet Do you have anymore details etc on you, bubs, birth etc??

TillyScoutsmum · 06/02/2008 22:15

Thank you ...

OK - some info

I'm 33 yrs old and live in the Midlands. Was TTC for 2 years and had 2 mc's before finally getting my baby girl . Live with DP - been together for just over 3 years but mates for a 7 years before that. Are engaged (and have been for ages) but just haven't been arsed to get married yet (been there; done it; got the massive divorce bills )

Hideous pregnancy (ms for the whole time !) but reasonably good birth.. 18 hour labour and a 9lb 12 oz baby at the end of it. Would go through a thousand labours rather than have stitches though - Ouch

Still on ML from my very exciting job as a Chartered Surveyor (zzzzzzz).. Think I'm going to be a SAHM but do get a teeny bit lonely and bored sometimes so still not completely decided.

Sorry - didn't mean to write the Gettysburg address !

Look forward to getting to "know" other May mum's and joining in with our darling buds' exploits

twelveyeargap · 06/02/2008 22:37

Nice new thread Scoot. Was just thinking the same the other day and didn't get around to it.

Welcome TillyScoutsMum.

mom2latinoboys · 06/02/2008 22:53

Welcome Tilly,

A belated congratulations to you.

I have to say this is probably the best thread on MN.

The only one you have to watch out for is LG&T as she is a total loon.

Pebblemum · 06/02/2008 23:29

Evening all

Well A has yet another nasty cough Poor thing has really tried to be happy today but hasnt had much luck. She slept for 2hrs this afternoon, woke long enough to pick E up from pre-school and then dozed off again for another 45mins, so unlike her. Even now she is asleep in her cot but every now and again she has a coughing fit and it wakes her up.

Tilly welcome to the madhouse

JW hope you are ok {hugs}

A has just woken up yet again so im off, speak in the morning

twelveyeargap · 06/02/2008 23:36

LG&T has SIX children, finds time to bake and actually clean her house properly, is trying for ANOTHER baby and has just bought six chickens.

She's my HERO.

All that is true, by the way, about the children and chickens.

juliewoolie · 06/02/2008 23:50

Hi all just home, all went ok. Thanks for the texts was lovely to get the messages, Feeling ok and GA not too bad atall I was crying like a baby so they gave me gas to send me off. Lovely after care as I was woken up the nurse said I wanted 8 children and didnt even get 1 so you are lucky! WTF

So onwards and upwards.

Welcome Tillyscout you will find us a bit bonkers there have been threads about everything from porn to NYE exploits oh and occasionally we chuck in the odd thing about our LO's

TYG that miwife is off her head, get Mars round she will sort you out.

PJ glad lexie is ok.

Right off to sleep.

mom2latinoboys · 07/02/2008 01:21

I love LG&T! Although after the chicken exploits I think she must wake up and say her morning prayer of "Bring it on".

mom2latinoboys · 07/02/2008 01:23

JW,

I'm glad it wasn't too bad, and the nurse was out of order.

mom2latinoboys · 07/02/2008 01:25

Oh I forgot to add that I have a practical joker in my house. I was giving Mateo his bath, and he picks up his little bucket of water and he says "Mama, I'll show you" he then proceeds to dump his water on me and the bathroom floor and then fell over laughing in the tub. He thinks he's so funny (the truth is that he is funny) I feel so sorry for his teachers at school.

cameroonmama · 07/02/2008 06:20

Welcome Tilly The more the merrier, but you must watch out for that LG&T or she'll have you planning baby number 7 by the end of the month.

And big hugs to Julie. I hope you had a good nights rest.

Thanks for the recipe Tam, the ones we made fell apart from too little Golden Syrup - imagine! I shall try and make some more today.

Scoot, I am sorry to hear that M has to go for a check up, probably its just them being overcautious, but at least they want to check it out. Love the thread name, brilliant!

Fat little J, who was moving at a slugs pace yesterday has turned into Lighting Bleedin McQueen overnight and is turning the playroom upside down as we speak. Time for more staff here methinks

DS1 is at school today until 3.30 for the first time, which means it is just J and I until then, I might take him out for an ice cream treat

AbbyLou · 07/02/2008 06:43

Just a very quick morning all.
Welcome to the MAdhouse Tilly!!
Well the pox have just about gone now and C is back to the lovely little boyt he used to be. Just waiting for the spots on R now....

TillyScoutsmum · 07/02/2008 09:19

I think I'd be planning number 7 on my own ... I am struggling enough to talk DP into ttc no.2 ! 6 children isn't such a terrible thought ... Baking and keeping the house clean though ?? I am in AWE

Abby - we had the pox here when T was 6 months. Hell on earth for a couple of weeks. Glad they're gone from your house now

largeginandtonic · 07/02/2008 09:25

Excellent new thread title Scoot. Clearly i am head of it being Ma Larkin

Julie i was thinking of you last night, i even put you in to a dream at one point! DH was saying what on earth must that be like and what is her dh doing? He said he wouldnt know what to do and would worry about upsetting me further. I said that J was being a star and all he can do is support really. Crying like a baby is most definately what you need to be doing, it will make you look like a puffy thing but is so necessary to release those emotions. I am very bad at doing that and it really does hepl. I find (if i'm bottling) putting on a sad movie helps, it just tips me over the edge. Seem's silly but i am a bit Lots of love to you.

My email [email protected] Latinomom email me and Julie could i have your addy please, no stalking i promise

Mateo (love that name) is a little bundle of giggles, i wuold so love to give him a squidge. Cant you come over? When is your mom back? Will you tell her?

Tilly run for your life I am not as bad as they all say, one of my partners in crime has gone awol (setting up life on a farm with a pig) so i have been quite tame really

Cam B did much the same, barely a move one day and the next whoosh. He ha not noticed the stairs on the middle floor yet but it is only a matter of time. Hugs will be actively encouraging him i just know it. How are D and B settling in at school? More staff i am of you, will look at flights today, i wont bring the chickens.

Now the chickens are clearly taking deviant messages from Hugo. They escaped yesterday, jumped on a series of obstacles to make it to the fence and then just popped over I had to her up with one of the twins. This meant that we had to make a rn for them last night, a neighbour came down and said we have been nicknamed Tom and Barbara. (latinomom that is the names of a husband and wife team who made it their life long ambition to become self sufficient, hilarious sitcom from the 80's) DH fancies Felicity Kendal (Barbara latinomom) so he is quite pleased. We got another 3 eggs too So far the eggs have worked out at about £40 each, hoping we recoop (arf) costs soon

Now Tilly not enough info, we need birth story, baby name and sexual tendancies, i will bake a cake and put the kettle on...

largeginandtonic · 07/02/2008 09:26

Forgive me Tilly is she called Tilly Scout (love those names) i posted before the 1st coffee of the day hit my blood stream.

largeginandtonic · 07/02/2008 09:28

We also need a profile and pics Tilly, not that i'm bossy or anything

TillyScoutsmum · 07/02/2008 09:44

She is Tilly Scout (well Matilda but only gets called that when she's wriggling like a b*gger during nappy changes and I and everything else is covered in poo !)

Need to do profile thingy... will try and sort now but may be back for advice cos I am officially a bit of a technophobe ..

Sexual tendencies ? I'm not sure yet but she has a real soft spot for Iggle Piggle (who is the campest thing on earth) .. so perhaps she's going to be a bit of a fag hag

Birth Story (as brief as possible)

Waters broke at midday on the 1st.. I was on phone to DP moaning about feeling crap and wanting the baby come and then shouted down the phone "Sh*t, either my waters have just gone or I have wet myself".. Contractions started about 3 pm. Liverpool FC were in the semi final of something (Euro cup maybe ?) and DP was watching whilst I was swaying around and breathing deeply. I (stupidly) agreed we would leave for hossie when it was finished. It went to extra time, then penalties - at which point the contractions were getting pretty strong and frequent.. DP wanted tp watch the after match commentary ! Arse ...

Went to hossie, 4cm dilated. Had a bath, put the TENS machine on and walked around a lot (and sat on the loo constantly cos I was really paranoid about poo'ing during birth ). Midwife checked at 4.30 am and I was fully dilated (I believe my words were "F*cking hell, I'm going to have a baby, I need to try some of that gas and air stuff")

Pushed for almost 2 hours - they took the gas and air off me because I apparently wasn't pushing hard enough (you can imagine the swear words at that point..). She finally "popped" out at 6.28 am weighing a healthy 9lb 12 oz. No wonder it bloody smarted a bit

Oh - and I didn't poo. Hoorah !

They put her on my tummy and I blubbed horribly and felt the most enormous whoosh of love and couldn't stop cuddling her. I thought she was the most gorgeous thing in the world (although in retrospect and looking at pics, she was a wrinkly, gunky and had a mushed up face like most newborns )

I actually really enjoyed the birth in a weird sort of way (I'm not into S&M or anything - honestly !).

Right have probably bored you enough for now... Will try and sort out profile etc

largeginandtonic · 07/02/2008 09:53

Your sexual tendancies.... >

Wow didnt you do well! A lovely positive birth, she was an excellent weight for a first baby too. We have a couple of Mathilda's on the thread, it is a fab name

Must go and get some breakfast and stick the washing on. I will make Banana loaf later.

Forgot to ask Cam how was the flapjack? It sounded right to me, if you usd to much sugar it will be solid and too little will leave you with crumbly bars. Do you need scales sent over?

Nataz27 · 07/02/2008 09:55

Is there room for another one? Starting to get bored of my own company!

I'm 27 from Northumberland, mum to Emma born 30th May after 3 very long days of trying.. Still coming to turns with it all.

LG&T am so jealous of your energy!

largeginandtonic · 07/02/2008 10:12

I have no energy for myself Nat i just steal from the (many) children

Lovely to have you, now same goes for you as for Tilly. We need details and stories and profiles. Get to it.

Where is everyone else?

MrsJb what are you up to today?

AprilMeadow · 07/02/2008 10:34

Morning

Welcome Nat, will need the same info from you as we got from TillyScout

On a house clean up mission at the moment as we are going away for the weekend (just the 2 of us) and our friends (Ellas godparents) are looking after the kiddies. The house needs to be spotless as she is a cleanaholic and dont want her thinking that we are complete scruffs. I know that she will work her magic whilst we are away but if i can atleast get it to a reasonable standard then i wont be so when we get back.

I really want to rant about something but as i know that someone in RL is reading what i post i cant .

Our dream house fell through this week but luckily have found another (MrsJB has given her approval ) just across the road - i think we will be walking our stuff to the new place. Offer got accepted this morning and hope to complete at the beginning of April and be in some time in May once we have done a few bits and bobs to the house.

Nothing else exciting to report here.... Will be back later for some cake
