Abby I know alot of my parcels have been really held up last few weeks they seem to have taken ages to arrive, maybe give her till tomorrow then email again, if you have no luck then start a claim through paypal if you paid that way

Lupins71 · 25/03/2008 14:20

It wasnt the milk so much as im feeling seriously wobbly due to all these lovely devon cakes and cream with summer on the way i really need to up my exersie as it seems impossible for me to curb my eating lol

Does anyone else watch 60minute makeover? I love it

Have just scrubbed kitchen and hallway floor - 2 bloody hours - shoooo calories and wobbly arms, they were flippin filthy, tomorrow I am tackling the wood floor in the living room as when they painted they seemed to have spilled half of it on the floors

AbbyLou · 25/03/2008 15:09

I am hoping that the Bank Holiday is the reason Lupins and not anything else. I'm just pissed off because I paid within minutes of the auction finishing and I had no contact at all from the seller. I don't know if that's the norm but when I've sold things I have always emailed just to say thanks for the payment I will send it tomorrow or whenever. I heard nothing from her until I emailed to ask if she knew when I might receive the items. The thing that's annoying me is that it is clothes for R and I feel when there's such a limited time they wear them for anyway I need them as soon as possible. Let's hope I get them tomorrow.

scootermum · 25/03/2008 15:48

Golly this has been the dullest day ever at work..I really have had nothing to do as my two meetings were cancelled..its has dra-g-g-ed...home now to our 'bedsit' finers crossed I will get back to find a kitchen sink and a washing machine..Its more like 60 year makeover in my house at the moment Lups..I wish someone would nominate me for a 60 minute makeover..when you see how much it costs at the end its staggering!

I am back on my diet after my Easter lull today..I am starving!Have a meal for one from M and S for my tea as DH is at college tonight..lovely paella thingymabob..

Hi all!! I just watched Happy Feet and I loved it. I may go watch it again.. Mateo keeps saying "Penguins Dancing" and then danceslike a fool. Gotta love it.

Man where is everyone!

cinnamontam · 25/03/2008 16:58

Happy belated Easter lovelies

I've been flat out at work and then when at home been hanging with Tild or going out to meet NCT mates for coffee as I'm the only one from our group back at work!

Just came back from 4 days in the Lake District where we saw lots of snow . Excited Australian's running around in the snow at 6am on Sunday morning...ha

We then thought it would be a good idea to drive back to London via the Yorkshire Dales and the Peak District as they were so close to each other . They were amazing but we didn't get home last night till 11pm and we are all completely knackered...Tild has a maxi-cosi shaped bottom and was understandably pissed off by the end of the day.

Lots of love to all

xxxx

AbbyLou · 25/03/2008 17:45

Tam, good to hear from you. Goodness knows how excited you must have been at the snow - we're English and we were bad enough!!
I can't believe it, R has just eaten fish pie! This may not sound like much to some but for those of you who remember all my posts fretting about her, believe me it is! During this weekend she has suddenly started eating more. I had done fish pie for ds and I didn't think for 1 minute she would eat it but she did, and she let me feed her it off her spoon. She has got some sliced banana for pudding now and a little bit of Easter egg as a treat for being such a big, clever girl.

lilQuidditchKel · 25/03/2008 18:28

HI all just a quick hello while my little DD wails in the background. I hope you're all well. We spent Easter in Austria with relatives so both of mine are off by an hour. Woke up at 3:30 this morning though - and I'm sorry but that's painfully early even after adjustment!!!

DH away tonight so having Easter Egg and Chardonnay for dinner. Please get me through the night in one peace!!

largeginandtonic · 25/03/2008 18:43

Ello all.

I am here, just about. How are you all?

We had a quiet weekend (no kids except Beau) and a couple of friends over to stay. They have just started going out, very sweet. I was not at all of her tiny frame and no stretch marks\bags under her eyes\lovely clothes (you get the picture)

Beau got very poorly with the D&V bug, i eneded up running to the doctors surgery with him on Tuesday last week. He had been asleep nearly all day and had drunk an ounce of juice and been very sick. DH had had him most of the day as i had been at work and then took Hugs to playschool (lets not talk about that) I had not seen him till 430. He looked dredful, sallow skin and very floppy, rolling eyes. The doc said if he didnt take some fluid in the next 4 hours we would be off to A&E for a drip. Luckily he perked up after i forced 7 ounces of Diaoralyte down him.

Hateful bug, i have had enough.

So what has everyone been up to?

Meetup still on for mine on the 18th, looking forward to it

cameroonmama · 25/03/2008 19:03

Evening all, gosh all these poor babies and mummies what a nasty winter virus thingy. Come out all of you to Africa and we shall make you better

M2LB - gotta love those dancing feet Ds1 now quite into Star Wars they grow up too fast.

We got back from safari last night, had a great time in a tented camp by the banks of a tiny river surrounded by wild beasties. We were warned to watch out for a random old buffalo who sneaks into the camp through the electric fence, but got more than we bargained for when the poor old boy was chased by a very loud and noisy pride of lion right outside our tent at 5 in the morning. The sound they make is absolutely terrifying. Dh got more cuddles that night than he has had in a long time The dc loved bumping around in the back of the car seeing what animals they could spot. We even managed to do a little easter hunt for all the dc. Fun and sunny.

Abby, I am so pleased to hear Ruby is starting to get the hang of the eating business now. J now will eat everything and anything and gets quite stroppy when his food is finished.

Pebble, sorry to hear that you and Alana are still suffering, how dreadful for you both, hopefully it will sort itself out soon.

Lups, love the house, talking of TYG's mini-me, Willow looks the spit image of you!

Sending a big hello to everyone else, especially to those at work.

Lupins71 · 25/03/2008 20:45

CAM wow at the safari sounds very exciting, willow does look the spit of me when i was little, i have some slides of my gdads and its spooky how similar we look at that age

LGT hope B gets better soon, shoo nasty bug

TAM it is a beautiful part of the world up there glad you had a good time

ABBEY well done on R's feeding

M2LB how cute of M and the dancing penguins

Scoot hope your house gets finished soon, they seem like likely candidates for rogue traders on there time delays, i would love someone to call 60 minute makeover team in for me too - its unbelievable what they spend sometimes

Pebblemum · 25/03/2008 22:33

Hello all

Sorry to hear theres been more poorly babies.

I let Alana go 'out to play' with the other children today. I put a pair of shoes on her and let her push her walker around the green, she loved it. She has been itching to get out there for ages All the children were making a fuss and couldnt believe how well she was walking (I was right by her just in case she fell but she was fine) She didnt want to come back in but once she realised it was time for food she was ok (that girl loves her grub lol)

Dh went to the pub last night and came home rather drunk, he was bouncing off the walls as he walked. When I went to bed I left him sat on a stool in the kitchen, 10mins later there was an almightly crash where he had obviously passed out and fell off the stool. When i didnt hear him get up I thought i should check he hadnt cracked his head on a cupboard. I found him sprawled across the cold kitchen floor and snoring loudly, there was ketchup spilt by him yet the ketchup bottle was still on the side where I had left it but apart from that it was obvious he was fine so I left him there on the kitchen floor (once hes asleep/passed out there is no waking him) He woke up at 5am cold stiff and with a bump on his head lol.

Lupins71 · 26/03/2008 08:32

Pebble I cant believe A is walking so well, lol at your dh, bet he has a sore head today

Any ideas as to why A wakes up at 3am every morning, this has been going on for ages now, hes not hungry, not cold, and it is always between 2.45 and 3.15 without fail, do you think i should try getting up at 2am and giving him a bottle and see if he stays asleep - any ideas welcome, I am up at 6.30 and never sleep very well when he is in the bed so i feel like i am losing out on at least 3hrs sleep most nights

Cant believe my little lad is 1 in 11 days , it has flown by - altho must say this time last year it was blazing sunshine and we were heading towards a mini heatwave - I remeber as I was stuck in hospital and then having to get the bus back and forward to see the tiny bundle - who now weighs in on my home scales at 23lb 4oz

Have a good day all x

AbbyLou · 26/03/2008 09:07

Wow Lupin, I can't believe A is nearly one! It seems such a short time ago that I read your news. I remember the heat too. This time last year I was doing my last week at work before the Easter holidays and my maternity leave started. I can remember sitting out in the garden with C making Easter cards and he was in his shorts. It was awful being huge in that heat. Where has the time gone?
Well, I'm off to a course today - Recognising and Catering for Gifted and Talented Children in PE. Yawn, yawn!

Pinkjenny · 26/03/2008 10:28

Abby - fab news about R's food. Its so stressful, the eating thing, always guaranteed to work me up!

Pebble - So jealous about the walking, Alexa still can't stand up unsupported, chill, Jenny, chill.

Lups - Their first birthday seems to be coming aorund so fast. Where have our tiny babies gone? They've been replaced by these cheeky little munchkins!
And Lexie sleeps with us most (oh no, sorry every!) night, so don't ask me about sleeping.

LG & T - poor Beau - glad he's on the mend. Here's to a few well months now!

Cam - your life sounds so amazing. I grew up in South Africa, which I know isn't really the same thing, but I'll always cherish my childhood.

Scoot - still not been sacked due to IT abuse but my boss is back today, so you never know...

Lexie Boo is fine. She still won't wave or clap (I know, shut up..). She is definitely blessed with her father's selective hearing, especially when she's doing something she knows she shouldn't. She screams blue murder on her two nursery days when I drop her off, and then when I pick her up she's excited for two seconds then wants to get back to whatever she was doing when I arrived. Little turncoat. Tsk.

Lupins71 · 26/03/2008 12:10

Abbey - Enjoy the course, sounds riviting

PJ - A doesnt clap or wave either, lol at her being a turncoat she is definatly trying to play you me thinks

I have just been woken up by the bloody postman, lucky for him he was bringing me tops for A so i might just forgive him, am feeling cold and tired today, why o why do we have no central heating

A has been happily munching on raisins, I was worried about him chocking on them but found him munching on the ones W had picked out of her fruit toast this morning which were all over the coal and ash covered rug

JamInMyWellies · 26/03/2008 14:40

Hi all jsut shouting a big hello over all the packing boxes. Should be moving in the next few weeks.

Trying to keep up but only seen the last few posts clapping/waving/speaking none of that happening over here Archie is more interested in destroying everything just have to breathe deeply and say he is "spirited"

See you all the other side of moving unless I drown under a sea of bubble wrap.

mom2latinoboys · 26/03/2008 17:16

PJ don't worry about the waving and clapping thing. Mateo didn't do either until really late. My thing has always been for him to learn things in context rather than teach him things for the sake of doing it. (My sil trained her ds to close his eyes every time people said the word).

Mum2G · 26/03/2008 19:11

Hey all

Lgt - Hope Beau feeling better soon

Scoot - just think of how your kitchen will look once it's done

Lup's - your new house looks lovely, very cosy with those open fires

JIMW - good luck with your move, i bet it is a nightmare trying to pack with Archies 'help'!

Georgie is well, he has got four teeth, he is clapping but not waving or walking, keeps pulling himself up on everything though, just waiting for him to chin himself, i just know it's gonna happen. He says 'Mama' and Babba - which we think may mean 'dadda'. He will only let us feed him now if he has got a spoon in his hand

I am absolutely wacked! G been on the go all day, has now dropped one of his naps and on one a day, and blimy do i know it

Our house is on the market now too, so fingers crossed it will sell pretty quick, Swindon here we come (yey!?!?!)

right i am off for a baileys, i deserve it

Lupins71 · 26/03/2008 20:19

M2G Arlen doesnt always have 2 kips by the evening he is a grotbag, good luck with the sale of the house, have you had a good look around swindon - are you sure about it did you find a nice village or outskirt area,

I have loaded arlen up with ready brek and more milk before bed tnite am going to offer him a milk about 10ish or just before i turn in and see if that see's him through in case it is hunger

Forgot to tell you all, dp has a proper job, 5 days a week 8-5 all perks including breakfast cooked lunch and afternoon tea!! yipee might be able to get my hair done soon, dp has said 1st thing he is buying is an album and a pair of trainers or boots, dd wants a gem/ precious stones book, such a huge weight off our minds, the money is good but most importantly its regular and reliable

AbbyLou · 26/03/2008 21:19

Lupin that is great news about dh's job. I bet you both feel much more settled now.
Well course today was dull as dishwater but at least the lunch was good! The people who run these things seem to have forgotten what it's like to actually be in a classroom full of kids.
Back to work proper tomorrow but only 7 days and then we're off for 2 weeks. Yippee!!

Lupins71 · 26/03/2008 21:28

Thanks Abbey, glad you made it through your course, we are alot happier down here, arghhhh 2 weeks holiday

Pebblemum · 26/03/2008 22:51

Evening

Great news about dh's job Lupins

Ive already planned what J is doing for his 2wks holiday. There are lots of free sporting activities taking place near us (all within a 15min walk) and they are all happening on different days so he will be kept busy. He's looking forward to it. One of the schools near us are even having an ice rink set up for a week so Im going to book him in there for a session £2.50 per hour so not too bad. Beats having him moaning that hes bored. If only there were things like that to keep E entertained but they all seem to be aimed at 8yrs and over

I saw Dana (my neighbour's cousin's LO) today, she is sooo tiny and has a mop of black hair. Must admit it did make me feel a bit broody. Her poor mum is still going through it though. You may remember that the poor girl wasnt being allowed to do anything for her baby, her pushy mum was taking charge. Well its finally got too much and the girl is constantly in tears, sometimes she doesnt want anything to do with her baby and is biting everyones head off. Its obvious she loves her baby, you only had to watch her today to see that but it seems that once her mum is around the poor girl just gives up trying to be a mum. My neighbour is encouraging her to speak to someone about how she's feeling and to come round here more often so she gets away from her mum for a bit. By tea time she seemed a lot happier but then her mum phoned to say that she wanted the baby back home in half hour wtf her daughter should be allowed to take her own baby out for as long as she wishes without being forced to go back home, it wasnt as if she was roaming the streets in the pouring rain, they were both in a nice warm house. I feel so sorry for her and sooo mad at her mum who cant see what she is doing wrong Im just glad my mum was never like that

Lupins71 · 27/03/2008 08:07

Pebble - OMG WTF is that woman on, I would be livid if my mum ever tried anything like that - not that she ever would, that poor girl, is there a b+t group she can go to to get away from her mum as well, would it help if she tried writing it down and showing her mum how she felt and the damage her mum is doing to hers and the babies relationship - let alone that of thier own relationship

We have friends arriving on the 7th not sure how long they are staying but the dd is same age as W so that will be good they can amuse each other - not got any other plans but hoping to go on 1 or 2 outings, maybe to the seaside if its not too freezing

Off to tavistock today to meet up with my mum - yipee civilisation

scootermum · 27/03/2008 08:38
