OOH Largegandt-I tried some of that John Frieda Night serum the other day..(thought this may be pertinent to you as like me you are follically challenged so to speak and might be considering it)It was rubbish and not worth £15 in the slightest..
Back to the drawing board..

Just wanted to say Happy Easter to all.

We were going to go to the Coast (Skeggy) on Sunday but I think we will stay in and eat chocolate and watch films as the weather is going to be diabolical!

cameroonmama · 20/03/2008 16:31

Hello hello, sorry to be a bit quiet this week, but a cruisin baby with death wish due to a penchant for electical cabling plus a soon-to-be-four year old who annoyingly keeps demanding some mummy attention (he keeps telling me how much he loves me ) has curtailed my MN time.

J just wont sit still, its quite annoying and he especially likes my laptop which is in a temporary position on a J sized table.

Our container has now left Jeddah and is on route to us via Tanzania and may arrive on April 8th..

We have just broken up for a month (to coin a Scootism) I beg of you, what the blinken heck am I to do with 3 kids for a month? And I can gloat no longer about our weather as I sit here typing in the middle of an enormous thunder storm. So tomorrow we shall go away on safari, to stay in a tented camp with some friends, see lots of animals, eat lots of chocolate and drink lots of wine. Apparently the Easter bunny can find you where ever you are in the world, even in a tent in the middle of nowhere - I think he must have SatNav.

The chickens are a blast, we have now had enough of having eggs and are hoping to sell some pretty damn quick. How long will your chicks lay for LG&T? Our guys says ours will only lay for a year and after that its chicken curry all round The funny thing is they like to chase dd when it is feeding time and its hilarious to see these 5 hens chasing a teeny 6 year old around the garden, her screeching her head off

Pink, welcome back and good to see Lexie is keeping you on your toes Believe you me, the later they do all that walking and talking business the better, after that there is no peace. J is like Jorja MrsJB, lots of sounds but total nonesense, just like his mother

Scoot, poor you, sounds dreadful. I'm sure it'll be worth it in the end. Having two kiddies in the house might be the inspiration they need to get a shift on

April, I can't believe you looked was it very obvious it was me? I'm going to kill my dsis...

Sky - enjoy Skeggy, hope its not too bracing!

twelveyeargap · 20/03/2008 21:06

A now saying "careful", but no "mama". Wagon.

She was "helping" me pack today. Ahem. I managed to get her clothes packed, and mine laid out, so it's a start. We don't leave til about 6 tomorrow eve, so loads of time, minus two hours to have nails done = just about enough. Probably.

DH home tomorrow, so he'll be getting some one-on-one time with A.

I've just been for a Fake Bake tan and I look positively ridiculous. The "guide colour" that washes off is all muddy and streaky looking. Luckily I wore an old hoodie to the salon so I could hide on the way back up the road. I do trust the therapist that it will be gorgeous after I shower, but I'm afraid to touch anything now!

Probably won't have time to log on tomorrow and who knows if I'll get on whilst I'm away so happy Easter to everyone and lots of love. x

scootermum · 20/03/2008 21:22

Have a great trip TYG!
And a great safari Cam!
Im not at all..

Have spent the evening lugging kitchen things downstairs to make upstairs habitable..I have made a little kitchen area in Lils room using the butchers block and the microwave and steamer..it will be great fun!Like camping! (Scoot tries to convnce herself)

The builders have managed to turn our boiler off today so the house is sodding freezing given that its now mid winter outside it seems..will be going to bed in my thermals tonight!

Good Morning!!!

Where is everyone today? I'm never the first one on in the morning. Oh yeah, you guys probably have a holiday today and I'm here, going to work. I have to plan my Easter dinner so off I go.

Oh Mateo tried to teach Cruz to go down the stairs. It was cute to hear him tell his brother "It's ok, try again" and "Come down here please" followed by, "You can do it Shippy" (We call Cruz "shippy" get it a cruise ship)

nappyaddict · 21/03/2008 18:18

sorry to hijack but i am looking after my 9 month old niece next week and i've forgotten what sort of things they like to do at that age!!

ds loves playdough and sand play. she is sitting so do you think she would be able to join in with that? has anyone tried either of those things with their lo yet?

Pebblemum · 22/03/2008 15:41

Nappyaddict my dd will play with just about everything although not been brave enough to try her with play dough yet 9 month olds are fairly easy to amuse so Im sure you will be fine

Well Alana's rash is looking a bit better but Im not getting my hopes up yet. Took her back to the dr who, this time, asked to see A without any clothes on so she could see the extent of the rash. Think she was shocked by how bad is was, around her nappy area is what just covered in the redness as well as every other part of her body being blotchy. This time we have been giving Epaderm cream to cover her in from head to foot at least 5 times a day (its about 10 times thicker than vaseline but just as messy, its vile) and then another stronger cream to put on the worse bits twice a day, that was as well as finishing the anti-b's and using the dermol in the bath. Her face is looking better but her body and legs are still red and blotchy. If its not cleared up by Wednesday I need to take her back (yet again)

Alana is cruising everywhere and is startin to get brave, she lets go and takes a couple of steps but then either sits down or grabs hold of whatever is in reach. She is so funny now, she keeps screwing her face up and breathing heavily through her nose, its very strange but cute as well. She had the dr in fits of laughter when she did it the other day. She also copies people when they cough. She doesnt really say many words except hiya, mum and dad although im sure she has said 'nice' a few times.

It is soooo cold outside, we have had every type of weather today, snow, rain, sunshine, strong winds, hail, the only thing missing was thunder and lightning We've just had a bi snow shower, the wqhole street rushed out to play in it. Alana wasnt too impressed with it lol

Lupins71 · 23/03/2008 08:20

OMG this crawling lark sucks, cant take my eyes off of him - hence curbing my mn time!!

Am very jealous of all of on safaris and hotter climates, bloody snow and sleet , I hate being cold

Happy easter to all, I did a treasure hunt this morning - well last night, stuck clues and a mini egg thing on the doors and W had to seek out the next clue and eventually led her to her big egg - was well chuffed it had her name on, A smashed his straight away then sat there with half and egg which he would have quite happily polished off, got some nice pics, will try and pop them on later

Havent been up to much, took kids to park in the snow yesterday, then came home for hot choc with cream and marshmallows

Right have a good day all - hope you get lots of eggs (I am going to pinch the kids ones lol)

AprilMeadow · 23/03/2008 11:49

Happy Easter everyone.

We are currently living the sickness and poo life at the moment. Ella has been poorly since Tuesday. It was just watery poo until yesterday and now its moved onto sickness and projectile milk. I had a touch of it on Firday night. Poor little mite she really isnt herself today. Keeps eyeing up all Jacks chocolate and wants to know why she cant have any.

mom2latinoboys · 23/03/2008 11:58

Happy Easter to everyone. Mateo got a Thomas the tank engine toothbrush from my sister. It plays the theme song for two minutes to encourage the kids to brush teeth longer. Needless to say he just walks around playing the music and I'm about ready to throw it out the window.

Pebble do you think Alana could have an allergy to something?

nappyaddict · 23/03/2008 12:08

lupins - it's just like that with ds. couldn't turn my back for more than 3 seconds without him getting into something he shouldn't. my suggestion is to do what i did. i made one room in the house fairly babyproof (the only thing we had to do was move the sofa away from the windowsill so he couldn't climb on it) and put a gate on the door so it was like a big playpen. that way i knew i could leave and he couldn't get up to anything.

nappyaddict · 23/03/2008 12:10

oh and also having one cupboard in the kitchen with things he was allowed to play with helped stop him emptying all the other cupboards.

Lupins71 · 23/03/2008 12:28

nappyaddict i have a playroom but trying to get dd to remember to pick up her beads, pens ect is a nightmare - not too bad when shes at school as everything is away

AM sorry to here about the sickness - sending you a virtual easter kk

Arlen threw his egg on the floor and started to munch the biggest bit - he looked very chuffed with himself

nappyaddict · 23/03/2008 12:32

lupins - could you perhaps let dd only play with her beads etc in her bedroom or on the kitchen table so the baby can't eat them?

Lupins71 · 23/03/2008 18:21

I have told her she can only do them on the table, altho tbh i dont think it will be long before he is cruising along the table, today he has had a mouthful of coal and a few hama beads, an empty sachet of calpol, a large quantity of paper and card, some shoe laces lol

Lupins71 · 23/03/2008 21:02

I have uploaded some pics - sorry the ones of the house are a bit crap, was soon after moving in - lots of boxes still in the playroom in the pics and its hard to tell how big the rooms are without taking loads of pics, a few easter ones done today, will try and get some of the views am just waiting for the rain to stop!

Lupins71 · 23/03/2008 21:03

Is no one around i really dont want to get off my arse and take loads of ebay pics, someone turn uo so i can sit her and eat chocolate - well the kids choc anyway

scootermum · 24/03/2008 09:36

Morning morning..Happy belated Easter all

Its very quiet on here...I am at work this morning and you can see the tumbleweed here too..Journey in was fab though.30 mins door to door.Am sure normal service will be resumed tomorrow though and it will be the usual hour and 20!

We braved the blizzard we had yesterday to go to my sisters in Kent as we couldnt face sitting in upstairs with L on Easter egg overload.I ate far too much and still feel quite sick!

lol at Cruz ship M2lb..thats a great nick name.L has started calling Mae 'May-day' as thats what DH calls her..bet she will love that when she is older. But then he calls Lily 'Lily Pond', or 'Lily-pop' and we both call her 'Lily Bean' (dunno why really) so she will get it back the other way I guess..

Hey Pebble..M has a red blotch on her face that wont go away-been three weeks now though it doesnt seem to bother her..How did A's start?Am wondering if worth taking her to the Dr about it..

Sorry to hear of the plague on your house April.Just what you want for the long weekend..

Was with my best baby friend who is due to have her second on May 6th on Saturday. She was getting out all her baby things from the first baby (who is now L's age-we met in the antenatal class)Too too cute.So so broody.

Well off to hang some pictures up round the service.Am prettying it up as it looks a bit dull at the moment. Also bought the tenants here a Wii with my welfare budget so am going to try to hook that up and set up a tennis tournament (ha!Thats if I let anyone else have a look in..have a feeling I may get very good at Wii tennis, golf, darts and whatever else over the coming months!)

Hello all

Ella feeling much better today, am hoping that yesterday was the peak of it. Has managed to keep to bottles of weak milk down since last night. Ended up on the phone to NHS Direct and the Primary Care phoneline yesterday. Got conflicting information on both. NHS told me to give her her milk as normal and not to dilute, followed their instructions even though i had been diluting it. She threw that bottle up! Then later in the day the Primary Care Dr said that i had been right to dilute as it wasnt so much about nutrition but jsut a case of getting fluids into her. Also the milk has the sugars and salts that she was losing and it was kind of helping. Had tried her on dioralyte but she didnt like that at all.

Dh and Ds are playing lego at the moment and E is asleep which is nice.

Lups, love the pics of A&W. Sent you an email today so wont repeat myself Very cute tho!

Hey there Scoot, well done on braving the Blizzard! We had a little bit of sleet and that was about it. My brother called last night to say that he had built a 4ft snowman at his gf's house somewhere near Newcastle. Was very . How cool on buying a Wii. Just remember to try and swap arms otherwise you will build up muscles on one side only

Big hello to everyone else. Please all come back, its gone ever so quiet

TillyScoutsmum · 24/03/2008 20:24

Hi all - belated Happy Easter. We have been house of ill here as well - Tilly has d&v and bad cold and hasn't had any solids for the last week . She's losing some of her baby chub. Good job she was such a biffa otherwise I'd be really worried. At what point should I go to the docs ? I don't want to waste anyone's time but she's been off for over a week now. Hmmm. Me and dp have both been ill as well (obviously his was MUCH worse than mine and necessitated two days in bed doing sod all and moaning and groaning lots )

And - whilst I'm in a ranting mood, why do people buy easter eggs for a 10 month old ?? She's got about 10 eggs here and whilst I'm happy for her to eat a bit of a choc - its going to take forever to get through all the eggs. Now they'e just sitting there begging me to eat them and I really shouldn't cos I've got a wedding dress to get into. grrrrrr

AbbyLou · 24/03/2008 20:41

Hi all, happy belated Easter from me too. Sorry to hear some are poorly, hope you/they are all feeling better soon. We have had a lovely relaxing weekend at my mum's. We went over on Friday afternoon and got back tonight. I'm extra glad we went as there was no snow here and we had quite a lot at mum's. C has seen snow before but he can't realy remember it so he had a whae of a time. Me, dh and my dad dragged him round to the paper shop on the sledhe and grandad and daddy were giving him some wild rides round the grass outsied my mum's house. Then we built a big snowman and had a snowball fight. It was lovely to see C having so much fun, he was squealing with laughter too.
We have also had a breathrough with R this weekend with her food. I think my mum and dad thought we were lying when we said she didn't eat. This weekend she has has chicken fricasee, Sunday roast with all the veg, cheese, cold beef, cheese spread sandwiches, mango, chicken with pesto and roast vegetables. She ate everything with gusto and was actually getting excited about food. It was so lovely to see. I'm just waiting for it all to go back to normal now we are home. I'll let you know.
I have an extra day off work tomorrow which will be nice. I think I'll just take the kids up to town and get some shopping and we have to go food shopping. It will definitely be a lazy day.

scootermum · 25/03/2008 09:04

It so nice when its all going well with the LO's.Very rare in our house. But Lily too was lovely yesterday-we went for a coffee, always a risky strategy with her at the moment as she is apt to run amok, but she sat very nicely and ate her cake and didnt have one tantrum at all yesterday. She was very funny, dancing and tickling Mae and 'reading' her books. And M was very good too despiter her thrid tooth in as many weeks coming through.
So we had a lovely day yesterday.
Normal service has been resumed today however as both kids woke up at 4 adn 5 am, respectively, coughing and spluttering, boiling hot and with runny noses..sigh..

Lupins71 · 25/03/2008 11:44

I have just done a 3 mile round trip on foot to by milk!! thats the nearest shop lol, the dog is thoroughly knackered, and i am about to devour a whole pizza

AbbyLou · 25/03/2008 12:57

Crikey Lupins, you must have really wanted that milk!
I have just been to town with the kids which wasn't actually too stressful. I have been trying to shop more in the town and only use the supermarket for things I can't get elsewhere. It has saved me about £30 this week. We bought loads in town but then had to brave Tesco which was a complete nightmare, it was so busy and the lift was out of order. R was hungry and screamed most of the way round and C was moaning because he was squashed in the seat so all in all it was a bit of a nightmare.
Can I just ask those of you who EBay regularly a question. I bought a bag of 9-12 clothes off someone a week last Friday and I haven't received them yet. I emailed her last Wednesday asking her when I might receive them. She said she had had some family problems but promised to post them on the Thursday. Do you think this is reasonable? I haven't received them yet so I guess she did not post them last Thursday. I know it has been a bank holiday but do you think it would be unreasonable of me to email her again?
