Sorry, best I could come up with in between making tea and trying to get Lils off to bed before the football starts...

cameroonmama · 13/03/2008 08:30

I'm adding chicken nuggets (homemade, naturally) and angel delight

Post it in the open I dare ya Actually you might get a reverse reaction to the one you expected, a sort of its-cool-to-feed-your-child-some-crap type of a response. It would be interesting to see.

I came across a washing detergent today, named Toss. Having been in marketing, I can see some great advertising opportunities there

Lupins71 · 13/03/2008 08:47

Lol at the toss wash CAM

SHOCK ANNOUNCEMENT A took a few steps on the walker before collapsing in a heap - he cant even crawl forward yet, altho he can get across a room rather quickly on his bum

Went to my new docs yesterday and was suitably impressed, got all my meds without any bother, and they are doing a blood test to check my nutrional absorbtion, apparently if you have pancreatitis then it can be low and especially if you've had it a long time, well i never knew that, and they have an in surgery dispensary so no need to then go to chemists

Really should do something, have a zillion and one parcels to pack for ebay and a kitchen that has nothing left to eat off of, curling up on the sofa with a box of chocs and a good book sounds much much more appealing, hmmm what are the chances of that with an 11 month old and a lazy dp

largeginandtonic · 13/03/2008 09:25

I could add a few to that list Now lets see
pilau rice (from the Indian)
Prawn crackers (from the Chinese)
Skips
Nutella on toast (hehe, now that would cause a stir)
Pretty much anything the 3 year old eats really as he feels the need to share, cute i think

He did just eat toast (just butter) and prunes and apricots for breakfast. Cant be good all the time can he?

Pebble hope A is ok and the doc is more helpful than 'it's just a virus' comment.

Lups well done for little A on his feet!!! He will be off in no time, batten down the hatches.

Beau has these He kept slipping over in the kitchen and at toddlers on the hard floor ashe now insists on standing all the time. He looks far too grown up

TYG how is the packing going? I am so excited for you

Aneme glad the Ofsted went well you must be so relieved. Love that new car smell and the tidyness. Mine is erm, not tidy and smells... interesting

largeginandtonic · 13/03/2008 09:28

Jonah had these when he could first walk. I still have them. Hugo's feet were too fat for them Beau has narrow feet so iam hoping he can get the same.

scootermum · 13/03/2008 10:48

What ho all..Hope everyone is ok-have only had time to skim

Am exhausted-have been up and down the M1 like a fiddlers elbow as the kids are at my Mums whilst the kitchen is being remodelled..came back Tuesday night for work and back up tonight..and of course sodding builders are running 3 days over with the work so new arrangements will need to be made for next week now..house is covered in dust, total nightmare..

M has started to crawl whilst she is at Mums-am so gutted have missed it..

I am now so broody its untrue but DH is refusing to put out.

When do you go TYG?

M was seen to eat some lamb pasanda over the weekend..she did not care for it!And dont get me started on L's diet..mostly she eats nothing at all, but other times she will eat total dross, like hot dog sausages, chocolate anything, Chilli heatwave Doritos..the list is long and shaming..

twelveyeargap · 13/03/2008 10:55

Awwh, very cute shoes. A has HUGE feet. Really fat, and wide like mine. The only pre-walkers that fit her are Shoo Shoos. She has a really cute pair atm these in navy. She also can't pull those ones off, which she can with the "full shoe" style. Hehehe. She really needs them on the wooden floors.

Anyone know where I can get soft "sandals" suitable for a baby? Don't want anything with a hard sole, but it would be nice not to have her feet encased in socks and shoes in the heat. Any ideas?

cameroonmama · 13/03/2008 11:35

Oh Scoot about missing M's crawling. But at least she wasn't crawling around in the builder's dust! Great job on the lamb pasanda

J's feet are too fat for them all, even shoo shoos leave massive elastic marks around his treetrunks ankles. TYG, I suggest A goes barefoot in Oz, the bubbas love it. We have a pair of those start rite ones too LG&T that were B's, I have a feeling I shall never be able to squeeze J into them.

When are you offski TYG? Gosh, just think you are halfway through your pregnancy now, not long to go...

Our chickens are here! 5 big fat brown fluffy ones, don't go asking about types, they are African, that's all you need to know. Now LG&T they are in their shed, I shall let them out when the dc get home, top tips for getting them back in at dusk puurrrrlllleeeeaassseee

largeginandtonic · 13/03/2008 11:47

Cam leave them in there for at least 24 hours so they imprint on the shed as home. What do they have in there?

They need sawdust on the floor and food and water. Do you have any Diatoms to sprinkle round the place or they get nasty mites that bite them. They should have a perch too for when they go to sleep. They will troop in when it gets dark, not at dusk.

What are you calling them?

TYG those shoos are soo cute, i love the inch blue website for those soft shoes. Will look out for sandals.

largeginandtonic · 13/03/2008 11:48

Scoot so sorry you missed M crawling Better not to do it in the dust and chaos though. Do you think dh will relent?

Mum2G · 13/03/2008 12:15

Hi all

just came on for a quick scan, hope all poorly mummies and babies feeling better, hope you are settling in to your new houses lup's, SOH and Cam, lovely pup JIMW, am with you all on the crusing front, G started crawling last week and is driving me mad, into everything except his toys lol!Has not got four teeth and says mamma and babba - not sure he knows what they mean though! He is on antibiotics again for a chest infection, but is still happy & smiley

thanks for the birthday wishes! Just got them,

haven't been lurking as been busy sussing out sexy swindon, experimenting with me cooking - poor george - got a slowcooker now so any good recipes appreciated, doing last bits to thesis, and getting house sorted to go on market - want to get it on asap so that me and gerogie aren't here on our own for longer than neccessary, as dh will B & B it up there during the week.

Yes i am now 32. Just realised how you knew - facebook of course- Had a lovely day , had blueberry muffins for brekkie, ate more cake with my other yummy mummy friends in the morning and then went to marwell zoo with Georgie and dh- who had taken the day off - much to my surprise, but he is away this week and next so it was nice to have some time together!

Dh bought me a necklace which i have now exchanged for a different necklace , and he took so long choosing it in the first place bless him!

I also got got some gingery reddy highlights, they are very subtle, but do the job of covering up me grey hair!

Know what you mean about the other threads, i asked a seemingly innocent question in propery about swindon and it kicked off a bit! dh has to give two months notice and we have to sell the house here before we can all move, we are hoping to buy straightaway rather than rent, so am sussing out the area now, went there for the weekend, some very nice villages which we are currently checking out - decided not to go for a period place this time as want easy maintenance!

largeginandtonic · 13/03/2008 12:19

TYG i have found

these

and

these

or these

Mrsjaffabiffa · 13/03/2008 13:30

Hello all,

J has these but her's have flowers on instead of the circles, but are the same colours. They cost me 35 farkin Euros and are not now on the robeez website so she must be Soooooo last season. Typical!

Not much to report here, J's crusin is driving me insane, off into the depths of our loft to find a stair gate for the kitchen today. Maddie is off school at the moment, hacking cough, raging temp but is still evil finding trouble so she can't be that bad.

Scoot, you missed the crawling bit.

Lg&t, how's hugs? Aghhhhhhh must be endless with 6 anyway, will it go round them all now?

TYG....... 20 weeks. OMG how fast has that gone. Any names thought of yet or are you keeping it quite?

Lups, well done to A on the few steps.

Adding to the list of not so good foods that J has not snaffled are:
Hot dog sausages
Meatballs in tomato sauce
chocolate any type, she loved dad's lion bar the other day.
Marshmallow (not so keen)
Maddie is often letting her suck on a lolly if M has one!
Ice cream. More, More, Please, she loves it.
TBH, although I wouldn't feed her some things as her a meal I'll let her try anything as a treat or a one off.

I have a friend here, who will not let her children have chocolate until they are 2!! Nothing, not even 1 button or a taste of anything with chocoalte in. J had her first Milky button at 4 mths.

twelveyeargap · 13/03/2008 15:31

A's feet are too chunky for Daisy Roots!

Thanks for the links. I chanced my arm in a kids shoe shop today (after meeting the lovely Marslady for coffee ) and found these Tip Toey Joey sandals and these as the colour is a bit more robust.

Fully intend to have her barefoot as much as possible, but was just thinking of gravel/ decking (splinters)/ hot sand and that kind of thing.

Also found my beloved Chocolate Kimberly Biscuits in the same street! Can you believe it? One packet of 6 has duly been polished off.

A was very good whilst we had coffee and demanded bits of salad off Mars's plate. She didn't embarrass me by looking for the chocolatey froth off my cappuccino, which is the usual trick. We were sitting in the window and a passer by stopped to have a chuckle at A because she had bits of lettuce sticking out of her mouth like upside down fangs and was waving a bit of chewed cucumber around. It was gas.

cameroonmama · 13/03/2008 16:41

oooo I love those little pink ones, I have serious shoe envy now . If you are on the beach you might need a pair of those aqua neoprene shoes, mine have all used them to stop burning sand from bothering them, I expect you could get those very easily there.

Good luck mum2g with the thesis and house moving.

MrsJB, I cannot believe what a bad mother you are

LG&T, we kept the chooks in for most of the day, then we let them out to explore. They seem to be quite happy to be daisy-handled so we just picked them up when it was bed time. Most of them had run back in anyway. They have some straw on the floor and some food and water. They have a couple of perches and seem quite content. What the heck are Diathingies?? Now they are called...wait for it... Brownie, Becky (wtf???) Snowdrop (not ds's choice obviously) Dubai and MrsS. Kids eh? I think I may have to intercede slightly when it comes to naming a puppy.

Talking of puppies, how is Louis doing J?

Pebble, what did the doctor say about the rash? I hope its nothing serious. And how is Hugs today LG&T?

mom2latinoboys · 13/03/2008 16:46

I just watched the best move "Gone, Baby Gone" You have to see it.

AbbyLou · 13/03/2008 17:50

Hello everyone, glad the talk has turned to shoes. I was thinking of going and getting some for R at the weekend. She has those silly baby ones that just get pulled off every five mins. She had a pair of Robeez which fitted really well and she couldn't get them off. She came out of them a bit earlier than she should have done because the cm lost one!! I think I may take her to Clarkes and see what their crawling shoes arelike. Although it goes against all my princicples to buy crawling shoes she wants to be on her feet and needs something more robust than pram shoes.
Also glad the topic has turned to junk food. R still doesn't really eat anything but she learnt to crawl today and guess what her motive was - chocolate!! One of the bigger girls at the cm had got some Easter egg and she held some out and she just crawled right up to her. At the moment she is trying out her new technique and wrecking the house!

Lupins71 · 14/03/2008 06:44

hello just wanted to mention we have a fab shop in tavistock and they have a website www.kiddieskitchen.co.uk dont know if they do them online but they do ome great baby pasta and pasta sauces and all sorts of handy stuff

Another crap nights sleep, im sue he knows when i have decided to go to bed before i even get upstairs, then he was awake at 2 and never really settle very well, flippin teeth

Mums fella collapsed in the street yesterday, but is resufing to go to hospital, am hoping he is ok, he has had alot of health problems lately but this was a bit of a shock he is covered in cuts where he fell

Bensonbluebird · 14/03/2008 09:53

Hello all. Real life has taken over I never get on mumsnet these days so have been avoiding all the squabbles.

A has been eating:

The toes of ginger bread bears (thanks big brother)
Any cake going
Spicy veggie sausage
Pizza (most of it did end up on the floor of Pizza Express though)
Garlic skin (his big brother was eating raw garlic the other day and said it made him go all wobbly so he ate some more).

I have also been feeling tempted by shoes as A is also slipping when he is standing up (he took a few steps holding my hand the other day)and his little star child slippers are getting too small. Will try to hold out until he is actually walking though.

I had DS1's first report from nursery this week and he is doing very well. They think he will be ready to go to school next year (he will be among the youngest in his sschool year and we get a choice as to whether to send him to school next year or whether to keep him in nursery for an extra year) when I went to collect him on tuesday they were playing a complicated game that involved running around a circle with a big easter egg. When it was Nate's turn he looked so grown up I had a tear in my eye.

Off on holiday to the Lake District tomorrow and hoping for sunshine.

twelveyeargap · 14/03/2008 11:05

Trying to decide whether to get rid of all the girl clothes that A is finished with... Can't imagine wanting another child after this one.

largeginandtonic · 14/03/2008 11:15

DONT DO IT you know what will happen

largeginandtonic · 14/03/2008 11:15

Besides i AM having a girl next and might need them all as i ahve no girl clothes at all.

charleymouse · 14/03/2008 11:26

Hi all sorry not caught up at all. Dashing about at the mo and DD off nursery today so handsfull but we are off to Center Parcs Sherwood Forest on Monday 17 March until Friday 21 March so if any one wants signing in for the day/evening please let me know I will need to have the cash (paypal?) to pay for it as can not unfortunately pay for all you lovely ladies but thought would offer if anyone had the time next week to utilise the place.

Day pass is £17 for adults and evening after 5pm is £8
Child (4-13) £11 or £6
under 4s free.

Let me know if you are interested. I will check back here tonight but afraid will prob have still not caught up by then as now off to DHL depot 20 miles away as they chose the one in your county as opposed to one nearest you to collect parcel as they will return to sender next week as I will not be in. Sigh. So today I have already been to Sheffield and back now off to Sutton In Ashfield then back to Sheffield later on, whoopee. I think I may get taxi plates on the car so I can at least use bus lanes to speed up my journeys.

Hope you are all well. Byee CM

PS G still throwing up and a bit off it hoping he will better by Monday.

twelveyeargap · 14/03/2008 14:17

I think Phin might leave home if you don't have a girl next LG&T.

Lupins71 · 14/03/2008 16:09

TYG omg your dd1 looks like you, just had a nosy at your pics, i thought it was you at 1st

twelveyeargap · 14/03/2008 18:20

Do you think??? She looks a lot less like me now. That pic is nearly 4 years ago. DD2 looks nothing like me. I could be her nanny for all strangers would know by looking at us.

If my son doesn't look like me, I shall be most upset.
