AprilMeadow · 10/03/2008 11:23

Thanks G&T. Will have a look around and see if i can find an icer. Will get back to you asap x

Pebblemum · 10/03/2008 11:34

Well its still blowing a gale here. Nearly didnt send J to school, it was so windy and wet but it seemed to have cleared up by 8.30 and both he and E were driving me mad so I decided to try to save my sanity a bit and send him. Since then though the winds have picked up again, the rain has come back with a vengence and my neighbours have just lost tiles off their roof Brings back horrid memories of the high winds we had when i was 12 (school window blew in and cut a boys throat just missing major artery (sp?)) which is why I thought twice of sending J.

Think I will keep E home today though, dont fancy trying to push a buggy in this wind.

AprilMeadow · 10/03/2008 11:41

Wow thats madness Pebble! We had the strong winds and rain during the night and have had a bit more this am, but for now it all seems calm. Weird to think that you arent that far from me and the weather is soooo different. I blame Jaffa for sending the weather back this way

Pebblemum · 10/03/2008 12:45

I know I was watching a reporter from gmtv being blown about in Brighton at 8.30 but here we had blue skies and no rain so thougt we were over the worst half hour later it came back and hasnt let up since, it fact it now seems worse than before

largeginandtonic · 10/03/2008 13:05

Tis very strange isnt it Pebble! We had blue skies and now it is so bad again. I have just taken Carrots inside and dried her off with a towel i had warmed in the airing cupboard poor thing.

Toddlers this avo but B asleep and weather so hideous not sure i will go.

JamInMyWellies · 10/03/2008 14:30

jesus madly running around having a quick hoover, juicylucy coming over and all of a sudden strange man in my living room. He has come to do the survey for the buyer. Out numpty estate agents just gave him the key and told him to come in. They know i am at home. AAArrrghgh am so pissed off

cameroonmama · 10/03/2008 16:32

Oooo Jules thats really naughty. Set the dog on him

Charley, that is quite a post, phew! Hope both ds and dd are better today.

Good luck Abby and Anneme, go girlfriends, go girlfriends.

Hurrah for Beau's teeth, the blighters kept J up at night for about 2 weeks. Now however, he has 6 like A, and in 12mth clothes too. Its a shame they can't meet Lups especially now you are in my former neck of the woods. I must say how nice it is to hear you sounding so lively. I hope W is soon better.

MrsJB, I do hope you haven't been offending people again in your cliquey other threads

How was the sword swooshing LG&T?

Both bigger dc here are a bit off colour too. They need to sort themselves out because they have a swimming gala on Friday and everyone has great expectations that dd will win (she couldn't give a toss!). Ds is more motivated and interested in winning a medal...

J is just so damn cute just now, cruising away, eats everything put infront of him, himself, laughs and smiles at everyone, screeches to ask for something he can't reach, sleeps through the night (if I ignore the odd wail or two at 5.30 ) and just adores being in the bath..........I could almost have another one! Time to bring in that puppy.

007 is off to Dubai tomorrow, home alone again.

Lupins71 · 10/03/2008 16:46

Well done Beau on your 1st tooth

Just been to mums which is only a few (4) miles down the road and it is pretty calm, but here is is ferocious, the door was pushing back on the car when i was trying to get dd out

Pebble thats mad about your school window, how frightening

mom2latinoboys · 10/03/2008 17:36

Well Mateo's sick. Poor little guy. He hasn't been able to keep anything down. He threw up on the floor, in the shower (I sprinted to get him in there), in my bed, in his bed. He's been sucking down pedialyte so hopefully he'll feel better later on. All I know is that when he's happy just sitting on the couch and walks instead of runs to where he's going . . . he's sick. Hopefully Cruz won't get it.

On the bright side because he threw up in my bed, and my duvet is soooooo old and wouldn't survive another washing. I went and got a new one today. It's awesome and only $100 for the comforter, bed skirt, two sets of sheets, shams, and accent pillows. I don't know about over there, but here that is a bargain. I only went in for some carpet cleaner, and left with beautiful things.

Lupins71 · 10/03/2008 18:53

M2LB hope he gets better soon, luckily i escaped with just a bit of sick on the sheet, hope Cruz doesnt get it, well done on your bargains - sounds like it would be a bargain over here too

Oh gosh all this talk of teething and i think there might be 2 more on there way, i have never known a baby teeth so quickly

There looks like some trees wont last the night in the next field

Oh and found a link to near where im living, this place is 2 minutes drive from us, so if any of you are looking for a holiday, its www.woodovis.com im sure our house must be somewhere on the aeriale pics - told you it was rural lol

Lupins71 · 10/03/2008 18:56

ok i have worked out the pics, if you go to the last but one pic, follow the road out of the park and look to the left, thats where our house is, there is the pub and us 3 houses - that is basically Chipshop with a couple of other farms about

Lupins71 · 11/03/2008 14:57

Ewwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwww I have just changed the worse nappy ever i have thrown clothes away!!!!!!!!

Lupins71 · 11/03/2008 14:57

Mrsjaffabiffa · 11/03/2008 15:32

Tis very quiet Lups!!

at dh and the washing up!! Stern finger needed me thinks.

LG&T yay, well done little Beau on your first teeth. teefy

Hope things calm down weather wise soon for those suffering. I did chuck it back with force, sorry!! has been bad here too. My boys are in the mountains skiing or should I say, not doing much skiing they are in the middle of a blizzard! Nice!

AM LOL at The "Jaffa" hmmmm wonder if it'll catch on here.

Cam.......... > Other threads.......? what other threads?.......... lets just say the "chat" topic was not pretty this weekend, more of a "bitch" topic than chat. I have come home here for some TLC! Tis scary the rest of this site ya now!!!

J is cruising now!! Sooo cute but fairly hard work, she has found the stairs and is trying to master climbing on to the tv table. Aghhhhhhhh

Can I just say................I love you lot!!

Oh and someone has a birthday today! Yooo Hooo Mum2G are you lurking. It's you isn't it? Happy Birthday. xxx

cameroonmama · 11/03/2008 18:58

Happy birthday Mum2G! Have you moved yet to sunny Swindon?

I agree MrsJB, that this cruisin business is quite tiring, I can't turn my back for more than a second before J is either chomping on an electical cable/ant/leaf/small indeterminate piece of plastic, climbing into a cupboard, onto a table or admiring himself by hanging off the burglar bars on the patio doors. Also, he has discovered biscuits....

Lups, I am still sulking that you didn't move to the west country when I was there but waited til I had just left.

Poor old dd, vomiting and temp today so no school for her, the poor thing was sooooo bored. Its most unlike her as she is tough as old boots and is so rarely sick.

Meanwhile we are having a small celebration as dh managed to win his first major client - phew, it means we can eat again

Mrsjaffabiffa · 11/03/2008 19:13

Well done Cameroonpapa Congratulations.

Hope dd feels better soon Cam, Maddie was off today too, raging temp in the nght and a hacking cough. She is quite pleasent when poorly though. Mwahhhhh

Lupins71 · 11/03/2008 19:17

Happy B'day mum2G

Sorry Cam, wasnt intentional , can you imagine the looks we would get taking out J and A with thier chubby cheeks - I am constantly getting stopped by little old ladies, hope your dd is better soon

The cruising is a headache, dd was in the bath, A was in bathroom, all of a sudden dd is shouting A is in the cupboard arghhhhhhhhhhhhhhh only took him a few seconds to get across the room (big bathroom) I cant leave him alone in the living room cos of the fire, nightmare

Have done so well on ebay this week, cleared out loads of dd's clothes and so far have £185 yipeeee, one of dd's dresses has 30 watchers how crazy i that

Am due on in a few days and must say that apart from my little blip few days ago my pmt is defo better, hope i havent jinxed it, maybe the anti'ds are working

cameroonmama · 11/03/2008 19:20

at the idea of cameroonpapa, makes me think of moominpapa

Sorry Maddie is off colour too, when i told dd's teacher today that she wasn't coming she said, 'I thought she must be ill because she was so quiet yesterday and as you know, she is not often quiet' It's true, she has been very quiet the last day or two, the boys have been making up for it though!

How are the snowboarders getting on?

SKYTVADDICT · 11/03/2008 19:26

Hi all just popping in.

C been poorly since Thursday but last couple of days think he has turned a corner. Trouble is DP and I got it! I was throwing up for England on Monday but with DP and C its just the other end. DDs not got it yet - fingers crossed!

C actually starting to eat again.

C has got six teeth all in quick succession. He started crawling last week - what a nightmare - can't take my eyes off him for a second - and also pulling to standing. That reminds me, I'd better go and look what he is up to!!

Lups - I have thrown loads of vests and sleepsuits away since Thursday!!

SKYTVADDICT · 11/03/2008 19:27

Meant to say - hope all the rest of you that are sick or have sick little ones get better soon

largeginandtonic · 11/03/2008 19:30

Im FAMOUS i made the home page with my tip today

cameroonmama · 11/03/2008 19:35

wow, I am dashing out to buy batteries as we speak

largeginandtonic · 11/03/2008 19:35

Ahem sorry, hope all the poorly ones are ok

Yay Cameroonpapa! Poor D, hope she is better tomorrow.

JamInMyWellies · 11/03/2008 19:47

ah maybe I should have kept the spare batteries for the tens machine not just the vibrator. Well done LG&T

hoorah for the client CAM.

We have had the vom here too not sure if its because A has spent too much time crawling around in dog pee Am sure its helping his immune system.

Hope all the bubbas and older ones feel better soon.

Mmm had noticed the chat section had gotten a bit hairy then that whole wankery thread sometimes it feels like a nasty school playground where there are the cool girls and then the rest of us, rather than a place where intelligent women meet to help others and share tips.

MUM2G massive birthday wishes are you off out having a lovely time?

Well the dog and Archie have me run ragged in one hand I have kitchen roll, hanging off my belt is a bottle of dettox and A in my other arm as he has decided that the dog is not much fun after all. Jaysus Have not had time to cook so have sent DP out for some fish and chips.

anneme · 11/03/2008 19:50

Thank you to everyone for luck - all seems to be going ok with inspection....they do ask stupid questions thought-such as "what is your policy on teaching?" _ well, what do you think? I'm a teacher, I think it's quite a good idea...
MIL came up this weekend and had a v bad tummy bug (actually, she always has a bad tummy when she visits - don't think the vege food agrees with her!) I felt awful because all I could think was - hope none of us get it particularly given DH's ability to faint whenever he has a tummy bug.
CM - will get thinking for you - it is a special thing that you are trying to decide.
Congrats LG&T on being famous - must go and have a look!
