AuntieMeemz · 01/02/2008 16:01

how is everyone? j

This is my last day of temping here. I applied for the job, but wasnt' lucky. Get this..
The new manager hasn't turned up today, her cat is sick.
The young girl who got the job, also didnt'turn up.
So I'm here alone with my bitter and envious thoughts. Any ideas for a parting gesture?

AngeG · 01/02/2008 16:16

Oh dear AM, no suggestions I'm afraid but at least they're not there gloating.

Luce - Love the cake

Well done on getting form done and sent SPB.

Thinking of you GMM. Hope you're ok xx

PMSL at the thread title suggestions!!

Bramshott - Izzy still has bf when she wakes, although she is not usually frantic. I tend not to have enough time to get 'breakfast' into her until we're back from dropping J at pre-school I don't get up early enough

Had my hair cut!! I like it, Dh hasn't seen it yet though!!

elkiedee · 01/02/2008 16:50

Afternoon all.

Thinking of gmm, hope she and C have found someone to keep them company, comfort gmm etc.

LW, that's an impressive looking cake. Hope it's appreciated, it looks most appetising.

mammyjo · 01/02/2008 16:57

Oh AM, I really feel for you today. Really hope you find something else very soon, and somewhere that you will be treated with some respect.

Well done SPB!

GMM, have been thinking about you a lot today. Hope you are ok, and with people who love and will support you xxx

StealthPolarBear · 01/02/2008 16:57

I tend to bf T if it's been a while since his last one, if not then I just give breakfast.
But you did ask about good sleepers, didn't you? I don't think we fall into that category

OP posts:
elkiedee · 01/02/2008 17:11

I wouldn't call D a good sleeper as he's up for big chunks of time in the middle of most nights - from 2 to 4.30 last night. He then didn't wake until 8.40, but whatever time he wakes, we give him breakfast straight away, which usually includes cereal with milk, fruit and fromage frais or yogurt.

I'm getting a bit worried because of course I'm going to have to wake him to get ready once I return to work if he doesn't wake of his own accord in time to change/feed him.

Sexonlegs · 01/02/2008 17:33

Afternoon all.

GMM, I have been thinking about you today as well. Really hope you are ok.

Bramshott, K wakes up between 7 and 7.30 but happily lies in her cot until 7.30 when I get her up and she has milk and porridge/cereal for breakfast.

Ange, can you post a picture of your new do like Maveta did!!

Well, I have booked our holiday - a week in Rhossili! Really looking forward to it already, even tho it isn't until the 23rd August!

Had a lovely time meeting my old work colleague. Dh kindly agreed to pick B up and they got home at 3.45. He was on the bloody phone chasing me at 4.00 to see when I was back. FGS. Feeling v peed off with him atm - he just ain't pulling his weight imo.
B has another late party tonight - 6.30 - 8.30 !

mammyjo · 01/02/2008 18:18

Thats a late party for lo's SOL! Ds is normally in bed by 7.30pm.

F has a high temperature. Nursery phoned me to ask if they could give her calpol. Went to pick her up and she was absolutely hysterical Turned out she hadnt eaten any tea with them, so hadnt actually had any food since midday. She had drunk a bottle of milk I sent with her which was something. She is in bed already dosed up with some nurofen to try and get her temp down. They only gave a little dose of calpol at nursery, I would have given twice as much! Not sure whether she is going to settle as she is moaning away to herself at the mo.

NorthernLurker · 01/02/2008 18:44

Freezing cold here - rain, snow, sleet - huge winds - you get the picture. I had Good work assembly at school (proud mummy boast there) then baby and toddler group then over to a friends to admire her new house (where I broke a bit off one of my teeth - worse luck - got dentists appt for next week and I think it feels bigger than it is iyswim - so not too bad) then walked back across town to get dd1 and friend and dd2 from school. Walked home in howling, freezing gale, then did girls tea etc - now knackered. Bath time very very soon!

Poor little F - Mammyjo - hope you get some sleep tonight and she stays settled

SOL - yeah for holidays! Not yeah for dh existing for 15 mins before ringing you!

Dippy - hope you get good quotes

Luce - I daren't even look at your cake!

SPB - well done for doing the form!

And GMM - thinking of you and C - really hopw things get better for you very soon.

geordiemacminx · 01/02/2008 18:48

I'm here.

NorthernLurker · 01/02/2008 19:00

Hi GMM - how's stuff?

elkiedee · 01/02/2008 19:00

Hi gmm, how have you spent your day? Glad to see you smiling in your post, but still worrying about you.

CaptainDippy · 01/02/2008 19:00

Hi GMM How are you doing honey?

Absolutely PMSL @ badgering rugs and lady garden quotes

It's official - DD2 has Chicken Pox - I've thought she was coming down with something over the last few days and now the spots have started to appear, poor love. Wonder if P will get it ......

geordiemacminx · 01/02/2008 19:03

Things are ok.

We've had a chat, sorted a few things out, probably take a while for things to get back to normal, but I suppose thats just grown-up life.

He's gone out, which is ok, cos its with his boss and a couple of guys that we both used to work with, wont be late. So I'm here all by my-sell-elf.

Have lost 9lbs in the past 4 weeks, but havent been shopping today - am starving - debating whether to order in as C is in bed... hmmmmmm

Maveta · 01/02/2008 19:04

Evening! Haven´t had much time to post properly in the last day or so but been trying to keep up.

GMM hope you are ok xx

Mammyjo - sorry to hear about F´s day at nursery hope she feels better soon

CD - Poor dd2 has she got lots of spots then or just a few? Poor thing.

NorthernLurker · 01/02/2008 19:07

Gmm - that sounds good - well done for talking. Now get on and order in woman!

Dippy - I'm fairly sure P will get it - dd2 caught it from dd1 when she was five months old. Oh well - gets it over with I suppose.

Hi Elkie and Maveta!

Maveta · 01/02/2008 19:08

also, Luce - great cake

Bramshott - sorry, I don´t qualify! N is an ok sleeper at best.

Quick vote - cat jumped up on the kitchen counter and ate part of the 1/2 roast chicken that I (stupidly) left out. So we will need to chuck it. Dh and my mum both say I should let the cats have it if I am just going to throw it away. I say no way! AIBU? Organic garbage needs to go out 10mins ago so I need to decide - girls place your votes!

Pesha · 01/02/2008 19:11

I wouldnt maveta - cats are clever!

geordiemacminx · 01/02/2008 19:12

Well I couldnt find the menu for the chinese... so I have ordered a KEBAB!!! WO - Dont worry, I'll save you some

Pesha · 01/02/2008 19:13

Ooo what kebab?!

elkiedee · 01/02/2008 19:14

GMM, glad to hear you've talked, I think you should order in some food.

Maveta, oops. I'd let the cats have the chicken but not the bones.

NorthernLurker · 01/02/2008 19:14

poor cat - give it the chicken - it's worked for it after all

Maveta · 01/02/2008 19:15

NL (that´s a scowl)

I´m inclined to go with Pesha.. but then it was my fault. grumble grumble..
