I found BBC 1 in the morning quite watchable, and enjoyed Living 2's baby programmes though was a bit disturbed by how easy it was to watch the rubbish they show later on in the day! But recently dp and I have got into a habit of putting Radio 4 on, especially since staying at my aunt's for a week and then my mum's over Christmas. Woman's Hour is a highlight of my day at the moment.

I'm sure D will grow up to be a dreadful TV addict. I never used to be but I've been sucked in since pregnancy onwards.

Won't hear it this morning though, I'm going to take him out swimming then scooting back to dump wet towels and pick up food on our way to Crouch End for a second local mumsnet meet up.

StealthPolarBear · 30/01/2008 09:05

I have the radio on all day, trashy regional channel
Enjoy swimming and meet up!

morning!

N turned on baby einstein by himself this morning . he was sitting in front of the tv playing with his toys and he started rolling towards the tv. Dh said "he wants to watch baby einstein" a couple of times and each time I said no, let him play etc. before we knew it he'd rolled right up to the dvd player and pressed play! clever boy!

Note: I do not believe this to be anything other than a fluke and this does not therefore count as bragging about my genius child. although it was quite cool

Rushed to the tax office this a.m. and now in work having a cuppa before getting down to it. Another beautiful day! Tis hard living in such a place... [ducks sharp/hard objects]

StealthPolarBear · 30/01/2008 09:09

Maveta
I am so impressed by baby einstein! I now know my shapes (although the widescreen made a square a rectangle and a rectangle a square
Think we might have to start on colours or water next
He loves it - I would be impressed by his taste but he's just been mesmerised by an "expensive make up" slot on gmtv!!

Octothechildherder · 30/01/2008 09:28

we've started on phonics

Maveta · 30/01/2008 09:31

I am confused SPB - you only JUST learnt your shapes??

elkiedee · 30/01/2008 09:32

Go on Maveta (and everyone), do brag about your genius child.

Was gmtv for that thing on extended bf? What was it like if so?

Maveta · 30/01/2008 09:33

my boss wants me to go to london for a couple of days. alone. just me. without N. I can do it for a night i.e. leave early one morning and then fly back late the next evening. Hope it's enough cos I'm not keen on leaving him for 2 nights but not sure if I can actually say that and if she wants me to, I might have to

Octothechildherder · 30/01/2008 09:37

Maveta - have a break! Go wild, go shopping and meet up with some friends. He will be fine - you will come back relaxed and he won;t remember (honest). Having said that dh suffers from separation anxiety when we leave the boys - I enjoy the time away

Ernie is taking his driving test next week

Maveta · 30/01/2008 09:46

sorry just to resurrecte the shoe question - everyone seems to say they let their los go barefoot but in just socks he slips on our tile floors, even the ones with grips, and it is far too cold to let him go without socks. So I think he needs something, even soft soled ones but something, no?

StealthPolarBear · 30/01/2008 09:47

maveta, there's a song in it that goes
"I know my shapes
I know my shapes
Oh yes I do...etc"

Elkie, they cut it!! Presumably because the poll was 75% in favour, so they couldn't point and laugh at the freaks, as I assume the programme was meant to be.
It was so dull. I'll have to watch bbc1 from now on!
Thought you were swimming? I'm meant to be going in the shower then to a playdate!

Maveta - I just bought these shoes for D for the exact same reason. We have laminate flooring and when he tries to stand up he slides all over the place! Also I only have one osey toes and 2 pushchairs and if hes in the one without hes forever kicking off his blanket and his little toes get cold I think as long as there soft shoes and theres plenty of room in them then they're fine. Both M and N wore baby shoes and their feet are fine!!

Pesha · 30/01/2008 09:57

Ahem.

Thats cosey toes and they're soft shoes.

AngeG · 30/01/2008 10:00

Morning!

Still haven't caught up properly.

Maveta - Izzy wears 'shoes' most of the time to keep her socks on. We use these types of shoes They don't fall off, used them all the time with J also.

Hope that helps!

AngeG · 30/01/2008 10:02

Sorry x posts Pesha!
