Cheers for your support lovely ladies!

Now our f*cking heating has gone off - oh joy! been driving round friends houses rounding up heaters!!!

Muppet did you not pile into the AIBU thread by the woman who is appalled by the name her sister has chosen for her son? Which is.........Henry! I think it's a lovely name and actually can't see how it is that offensive even if it's not your fave?

Hello everyone!
Alice - brrrrr about the lack of heating - i hope you can get that sorted asap
Nellie - hope the colds go soon
Mine ? we will try and be a mum-substitute the best we can?
Muppet ? your classes sound interesting, I am making wedding invitations for friends at the moment because I need something creative to do
Anyasmum ? is your birthday October as well? So?s mine (same day as DS actually) ? I think our birthstone is an opal. I think I may look into getting a birthstone necklace as well, sounds a lovely idea
Ejt ? you must have been v worried about Mairwen, glad she is on the mend now
MrsFish ? have done your website thing too

Well, me and DS had a lovely day out today with MIL and her friend, who was dying to see DS. We were thoroughly spoilt ? I had lunch and cakes bought for me, DS had a toy monkey and a rubber duck bought for him. Plus his first taste of snow/sleet/hail, as we had some weird cold weather at one point when we had to make a dash for the car!

Hi All!
I've been busy, busy, busy today but finally I can sit down and catch up with you all.

Inzi; still at the treatment you have been getting. I sincerely hope they get their act together and get you fixed soon. Thrilled to hear your grandparents are on the mend.

Mrs Fish; I did your thread and passed it on to several friends.Good to hear that the soya milk is working.

Mine;(((hugs))) My Mum does so much for me, especially when DH is away, I don't know how I'd cope without her...you have all my sympathy.

Nellie; my DH works away a lot too, not whole months at a time however and fortunately in a male dominated environment, so I've not got to endure so much as you but I know how you feel....when I whinge about him being away from us, alone in foreign hotels with all the opportunities for playing away, he just says he didnt take advantage of the opportunities when he was footloose and fancy free so why should he be any more tempted now when he has everything he wants waiting for him at home. I hope the month flies past and the time in proximity to his ex only serves to remind him how lucky he is to be with you.

Muppet; Wow you are going to be busy!!! Baby music classes are a great idea. Hope the BSL course is fun. We had our 2nd proper talk first class today, Alex is already besotted with Dexter and after just 3 weeks of signing "milk" he has proved how well he understands by either pushing my hand away (no)or trying to suck my signing thumb(yes)!!! I think it is amazing! at the house prices but must admit to twice cashing in on the sudden rises when a student back in the 80s (my 14k terrace sold 4 yrs later for 28k)and again in 1999/2000 (40k 3 bed semi sold 4 yrs later for 140k!)It must all come tumbling back down again sometime.

EJT; how frightening Mairwen took so poorly, and so glad she is on the mend. I hope the improvemnet has continued today and hope you start feeling better soon too. (((hugs)))

Dal; hope Dylans botty is better now.

Alice; Poor you!!!(((( hot water bottle hugs)))It is always when the snow/hail hits that the boiler decides to pack in isnt it? I hope the heating gets fixed soon for you and the boys. As for the feeding;...that pattern is exactly how Alex slept (or didnt)throuout his 4th month...I think it was a growth spurt in Alexs' case, but the 2 hr feeds became a habit...I hope things settle and improve for you soon, it can be just SOOOO draining.

Anyasmum; {ouch emoticon} for the poor mites' teething....you would think nature would have come up with a kinder system wouldn't you? Big pats on the back to your Dh for getting/trying to get a hand print card for you . As for the Mri...does the left hand actually know what the right is doing in that hospital dept? I hope you get the sedated one done soon ...the sooner you know everything is alright the sooner Anya can be allowed to be more adventurous, and the sooner the better for her as she certainly seems more than ready for it

Off to bed myself now as I'm shattered; talkfirst, shopping, swimming, healthcentre, dog walking, grooming dog for Crufts, driving 25 miles to visit Mum and now home with Dh......night night.

FloriaTosca · 05/03/2008 13:03

Is everyone else having a busy busy day today then?

Hope everyone is ok

J20; hope you have finally got my cheque; Dh nearly drove off to France with it when we got the car back on Monday!

I'll slink off and do some housework if no one is playing today

alicet · 05/03/2008 13:46

Hi Floria I'm here! Should be cooking tonight's dinner but frankly can't be arsed!!!

Heating hopefully getting fixed tomorrow.... Last niht not too bad in the end - had electric heaters in both boys rooms. Just put them on when I was up to feed Adam and then turned them off again when he settled. Neither of them was disturbed by the cold (well Adam no more than he is usually up!!) so thats all I was worried about.

Really struggling at the mo to remember what everyone has said.

Inzi hope bleeding settles or at least you get your scan appt to find out what is causing it soon...

And sympathies to all of you who have to cope with dh's away. My dh is in London today and won't get home until after the boys are in bed and I find this hard enough! So big sympathies and especially to nellie as he is working with an ex just to make it harder. With Floria too though that it doesn't mean anything will happen - she is an ex for a reason! Doesn't help the hormonal paranoia though I'm sure!

Lots of love to the rest of you xxxxxxxx

god I am bored! DS is at that awful stage of poorliness when he doesn't look well (and I do sympathise with that I promise!) but calpol has done its trick of artificially making him temporarily better - so we;ve gone from whinging 'man flu' boy to 'bouncing off the walls boy'. brilliant. He refused to go out this pm, despite a gorgeous day, and I couldn't see the point in making him if he feels crap - so put Madeleine down for her nap and have been twiddling my thumbs ever since! Bored, tired and hungry - really trying to be good on that score but just feel ravenous all the time.

alice, glad your night was ok. Sounds like everytime we go to my parents (who live about an hour and a half away from you) - they have the house in arctic conditions - I think it's actually on purpose to make me sound neurotic about my children sleeping in rooms so cold you can see your breath pleased you got it fixed though. How was Adam's night in the end? has the hungry milk made a difference?

floria, thank you again for you kind and supportive words. hormones are evil things - but then again, I realised today that I'll only be hormoned up like this for another few weeks before weaning kicks in. can't believe how quickly it has all gone.

hope everyone else is having a good afternoon.

J2O · 05/03/2008 18:21

HAPPY BIRTHDAY MRSFISH

FT-i haven't got it yet, but i was going to email you anyway to see if you'd mailed it as i think my postman is a bit dodgy, a lot of things have been going missing lately, hmm, i'll give him till fri then i'll have to contact the sorting office.

sorry i havent read through all the posts properly yet, will try, as ever, to get back later xx

ChocolateHobnob · 05/03/2008 19:03

Hi all

Hugs to Nellieloula - hope you're getting on OK and DS gets better soon. Don't think about the ex... you're the yummy mummy! we all are (she says, with whole suitcases under her eyes).

Alice it's been soooo cold - poor you! We have a spare heater if you need any more.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY MRS FISH!

Anyasmum, hope a better scan gets organized.

Inzi, hugs - you're having a crap time!

Well, news from here is that after weeks and weeks of Rebecca not sleeping more than 45 minutes at once (which is exhausting for her bleary eyed mummy...) she inexplicably suddenly slept from 7.45 till midnight last night!!!! After that she barely slept a wink (sigh) but the point is she broke the 45 minute cycle. I'm wondering if the baby yoga we had yesterday did it - so this afternoon I tried to remember the moves and do them, but I'd forgotten the tunes that went with the words and the positions the babies were in for each sequence, so it probably didnt do much good - still, fingers crossed!

DH is off to London tomorrow for a work trip, leaving v early and back very late. It will be weird, just me and Rebecca all that time. I'll have to make sure we do something or she'll get bored of just mummy all that time.

OK, time to feed and bed her. Hugs all!

alicet · 05/03/2008 19:51

Happy Birthday MrsFish!

Nellie the hungry baby milk hasn't really made much of a difference. Thinking about trying him with some baby rice to see if that helps - apparently some babies like food better than milk? Will see...

Choc thanks for the offer of a heater but we should be OK. Hopefully man coming to fix it tomorrow. Great news on R sleeping too although frustrating she couldn't do it during the night too... Still a step forward!

Not much news from here. Had a lovely am with one of the other mums from my NCT class I went to when I was expecting Sam. She has a dd the same age as him and they get on really well. We went to the library, park and then for lunch. Chilled this afternoon and then got my car from the garage. Oh and we are getting our bathroom done FINALLY while we are away at Mum and Dad's / skiing!!! So excited!

hey everyone, got dylan weighed today, has put on 6oz in 8oz which is a good gain so i'm happy!
Hope everyone is doing ok, inzi - hope they get you sorted soon, must br draining and tiring to not feel 100% all the time.
Hey floria! glad the baby sighning is going well, sounds exciting, there are plenty times when i wish dylan could 'talk' to me and tell me what he wants!
Alice - glad your heating is grtting fixed soon, sure is chilly up north isn't it.
By the way, dylans bum is totally fine now so i think it was just a reaction to the tesco baby wipes we tried.
strawberry - mmm cakes, wish someone would spoil me with cakes, i still have a chocolate addiction so choc cake will do
nellie - i'm sure you'll cope better than you think you will when dh is away, csn only echo what everyone else has said about the ex, she's an ex for a reason, maybe even several reasons!
muppet - sounds like you're doing well at the tennis, bet you're feeling fit from all the excercise! Only excercise i'm getting at the moment is walking in to town and back but least it's better than nothing and i do feel better for it
ejt - sorry mairwen has been ill, glad she's on the mend now
mine - know what you mean when you say all you want to do is eat, i feel the same except the main think i want to eat is chocolate... keep thinkng i'm using the chocolate to fill some kind of emotional void but can't think what that might be i was never this addicted before i got pregnant....
anyasmum - hope the hospital get their arses in to gear with the whole scan thing so you can stop banging your head on the table.
mrsfish - glad ben's skin is getting better!
Dh has started his new job this week and i'm feeling the benefit already, so is he, no more long days, we're able to share dylan between us more easily and he comes home for lunch and finishes at 4.30! Really quite enjoying life at the mo and could even see how the next lo would fit in ... not yet though, think i'd like dylan to be at least 18 months before i'm preggers again...
thats got me thinking, those of us who are planning more, do you think we'll all still be chatting on here when it happens?!
Anyway it's mr moggins' (dylans) bathtime now so gonna go, hi to everyone i've forgotten to mention...
oh what nicknames have you all got for your lo's???
catch ya soon x

muppetgirl · 05/03/2008 20:19

Alice ? at your heating, sods law it happens just as the weather starts to get a little colder.

Mrs Fish ? Happy birthday to you!!!

Chocy ? Well done Rebecca!! (let?s hope she carry?s on now?)

Nellie ? Oliver was off nursery today with ?manflu? but he did want to go out at least.

Floria ? Glad to hear about the baby signing classes. I was dubious about the Dexter puppet but the babies really do seem to like it don?t they! I am so excited to be using my brain again after so long and am looking forward to learning a new skill.

Anyasmum ? at the scan but I do hope the sedated one goes okay.

We test drove a mini today which just made me fall in love with them even more!!! The one we wanted is no longer available so a little about that but have had fun specking (sp?) one up on their website. I?m thinking British racing green with white stripes down the bonnet Henry enjoyed his 2 hrs of nursery and is starting a full day tomorrow. I am having a free day as next week it is BSL intensive training. I am going to use the time after I pick Ollie up from nursery to take him swimming and give him a bit of mummy time as I feel he needs it. He?s looking forward to being 4 as we have said he can have pocket money ? 20p to spend in the sweetie shop (they do 1p/2p/3p etc sweets so good for his maths always a teacher eh?) and £1 to save. He?s also going to be allowed to stay up later ?bed after the night garden, currently it?s after storymakers. He is so excited about the thought of being a ?bigger? boy and H going to bed before him oh to be 4 again??

I bumped into the man who I bought my cello off of when I was 15! A bit strange as he now has a 4 + 2 yr old so we swapped stories of children. Made me feel 15 again..
I also got my antique cello case back from the man that was mending it ?I initially told him no rush so he took 2 years to mend it ?yes really! It?s fab and I?ve taken it upstairs and put it in the living room and Oliver is stunned by it as it is blue, made of wood and shaped a little like a coffin. (We?ve never had it at our house so he?s not really seen it) I don?t think we?re ready for my cello to come to us yet though?it can stay at my dads as it safer there than here

muppetgirl · 05/03/2008 20:22

Hello everyone
nothing very exciting to report from strawberryland. took DS to babybounce session in library today with another mum i've met - he seemed to have lots of fun smiling at everyone. he is such a cheeky baby! and growing up so fast.
Our nickname for him is "pea" (as in sweetpea, which is what's written on one of his dummies) or "the boy".

Mine · 05/03/2008 21:48

we also have a collection of nicknames for ds.... one of the Stinky Bum because his poo's are so atomic!

We had a lovely day today... met my sister for lunch then met up with a couple of local mumsnet mummies for a coffee.

My sister came over for dinner (yummy Chilli) and helped me give Slinky Bum his bath.

I have to give him a bath in the tub now as he longer fits in his baby bath!! The little fatso absolutely loves it.

Choc - hope Rebecca has settled down for you. Its exhausting when they are just grumpy all the time.

Muppett - I REALLY want one of those mini's.. they are very cool, but unfortunately i have to settle with my 'family' car. Boorrring!!

Alicet... have you got your heating back??

Mrs Fish - Birthday hugs to you. Did you get any nice pressies???

Mine · 05/03/2008 21:57

oh i forgot.. we also call ds 'Little Big Man' because he is sooo mahowsive (sp?!)!!!!!!!!!!

Dalrymps · 05/03/2008 23:47

Zachy, Lumpy, fat boy slim, and my all time favourite is Mushka, which means little mouse, when he was first born i called him little mouse cos he was so tiny, then a few weeks ago i had a dream about my dad and in my dream he kept calling zach mushka, I started calling him and told my mum about my dream and she told me that Mushka means little mouse in Polish,

alicet · 06/03/2008 10:24

Anya's started rolling today! Only from back to front - she looks really pleased with herself then starts crying when she realises she's stranded! She did it early this morning and I thought she'd just do it that once then it would be days before she'd do it again, but she's been doing it all morning so far. FT - she'll have to get together with Alex again and he can show her how to roll back onto her back .

For all those sucking snot out of their lo's noses - we bought a sucker thing from Boots yesterday that does it for you - £3 well spent I think! Anya hates it - looks really shocked when the snot flies out (sorry if tmi!) then cries and fights me if I try doing more. Does work though.

Will catch up with posts later. xx

muppetgirl · 06/03/2008 11:22

Well done Anya you big girl! Gosh they're all getting mobile now! not long for H I'm sure though he's probably too fat to roll atm...
