Hi all just added myself to the list.

Sorry I have not been about for a while. Shula is doing really well. She is watching us and drooling when we are eating. On friday I gave her a little bit of a hipp organic jar of carrots and sweetcorn which she wolfed down. she has not had anything over the weekend as we are away at a hotel and would not be able to keep the pot in a fridge. However I did freeze the remaining food from the jar in an ice cube tray, so may take a cube out for tomorrow.

Sorry I have not been able to catch up on all the posts. i hope everyone is well.

Have done us in order (Yes I am anal )

Hope you've all had good nights, H woke us up at 6 starving, I could hear his tummy rumbling! We're off to the gym for tennis course for me and creche for the boys. Then walk to starbucks with a mummy I met at toddler group. I think we'll have a quiet afternoon in front of the telly...

Btw, what do we think of this situation..

Oliver was on a bouncy castle yesterday when I noticed he was being pushed and shuved very roughly by an older girl. She pushed him so much it looked like he would get a bit of wiplash! Ollie got up and pushed her back equally as rough and then they had a little kicking, pushing fisticuffs. I didn't know whether to intervine. Should have have left him to fight his own corner just becasue he could or should I have said something? I heard her call Ollie a bully (god that word is banded around to much these days) to another child and he said that he didn't like her very much (was strangely proud at this point [bush]) I did go over eventually and say that things were getting rough and that I was taking Ollie to play with something else and she (the little girl) turned round and said to me 'No, he can stay here, he's fine' Cheeky bloody girl!!!!

I think that's the first real lioness moment I've had with Ollie against another child!!!!! (leave my boy alone, leave my boy alone grrrrrr)

Another thing, the children's computers aren't on atm at the gym I asked why to another member and it turned out there had been a powercut last week and things needed resetting afterwards and not everything had been eg the filters on the computers to stop them accessing inappropriate sites. Someone had used the children's computers to access porn and a little girl (the little girl Oliver was fighting with as it turned out) was then one that accidentally clicked on and saw it. Apparently she's had nightmares since I've a feeling heads will over this.

I hope you all have a good day
x

Good to hear from you Whinnie. Glad shula is doing so well.
Muppet; I'm surprised you were so restrained ... I don't think I would have been (time will tell)...well done! But perhaps as well that you did with the revelation about the computers poor child, sad that she saw something so graphic so young but still not an excuse for bullying and then being deceitful.
Having said that, if she is very young it is the reaction of the adults around her that will have tempered her reaction to the porn...in my experience, when I aged 9 I was flashed at on my way back to school one lunchtime, I found it "rude" in a funny way and gigglingly told my Mum, who just casually said "really? How silly!" to my face...and then went balistic down the phone to the police when I was out of ear shot! The police took too long to come and interview me so when they eventually came round (2 days later)she told them that as I hadn't been traumatised she didnt want them to turn the molehill into a mountain for me and refused to let them interview me. So it never really affected me at all...

Our fabulous news is we have now had 3 nights in a row with just 1 feed!!! (I am still producing enough milk for 4 feeds and needing to use breast pads at night however ) He is still stirring at 2am and 6 am but settling very quickly and is waking at 7/7.30am lovely and refreshed. What is more he isn't that hungry when he wakes so I think we might be dropping the 4am feed soon aswell (as soon as my boobs have adapted). And he is napping better too so his waking time is much happier and smilier. Dh can't believe the difference in me either. Win, Win situation all round!!!

A went into hospital at 9pm and Henry arrived at 9.30pm!!!! Lucky, Lucky *!!!!!

anyasmum - I got back after you deleted your post and am now racking my brains to try and think what yu could have written , tbh i'm not easily offended so whatever it was i'm sure it wasn't that bad

For the past week and a bit our 8hr a nighter has started waking once or twice for feeds and generally once more for a whinge so i'm slightly tired and a bit puzzled but overall not too bad... even so though, if anyone wants to send me the sleep doc that'd be good - [email protected]

well, gonna go make some lunch cause i'm starving!

Hi to everyone i've not mentioned, catch ya soon

MINE - 21st Oct, Eren was born at 7lb 11oz. He's 18 weeks today and weights 18lb 5oz. I had to stop bf at around 5 weeks as the poor mite was just too hungry and my supply was not strong enough to fill him nor was there enough of it full stop... i remember expressing for 30 mins and only got 1oz!! He has ben ff ever since and slept through since then too!! Have started weaning one meal a day but he still can put away 8oz too. Greedy monster! Eren is my first baby so this is all very new and exciting for me.

Dalrymps - 30th Oct baby boy Dylan weighed 6lb 5oz at birth. weight 10lb 14oz at 16 weeks. mix fed, occasionally nosey about food but not showing any signs of being ready to wean yet.

This was a fab idea as i have been curious about everyone's lo's for ages!!

I've just got back from the garden centre, have decided to finally tend to my sad and pathetic garden. Hopefully by late spring/early summer it won't be so sad!
I'm planting lots of flowers, herbs (rosemary, thyme , and an attempt at onions and garlic.
I'm strangely very excited about the whole thing.

Ejg - your spa thing sounds amazing. Hot stone therapy is the best.

Muppett - your story made me giggle... though not the porn/computer thing... that bit was disturbing!

TheLadyEvenstar · 26/02/2008 11:46

Inzi, i personally would introduce baby rice. BUT in saying that it is up to the individual, and if you do introduce weaning make sure she drinks plenty of water/juice....

muppetgirl · 26/02/2008 11:57

Hi Inzi

Henry has just started to go longer between feeds. I fed him every 3 hours and he took 7/8 ozs and the times were roughly 8 (couple of ozs for school run), 9.30, 12.30, 3.30 + 6 with a dream feed at 10pm

Now he spits out the milk so I have let him go for as long as he wants till he's hungry and he's now 8 (ish) 12, 4 and has 9oz each time with a dream feed of 9oz at 10pm (ish)

He's also starting to wake early...
I gave him baby rice last fri, just a spoonful and he was not really fussed but he did sleep to his usual time. -I might try again as he woke early today and yesterday.

I'm thinking it could be the 4 month growth spurt that we all used to take for needing weaning but it was really a growth spurt or maybe they really do need weaning????

Ollie was weaned at 15 weeks due to interest in food, going off milk, being angry when he fed, not satisfied after his bottle and grabbing a chicken sandwhich off my plate and stuffing it in his mouth!!

I think it's good to remember that even if you give Jane a little rice and she doesn't like it/it has no effect you can go back to what you were doing. Once you've given them rice/solids it doesn't mean they are 'weaned' and have to have it everyday iyswim.

I am going to get him weiged to day as we've not been for 2 weeks so it'll be interesting to see if his new feeding pattern of less bottles but more milk taken though less milk overall has had any effect on his weight gain.

x

Mine · 26/02/2008 19:17

where is everybody........................

ChocolateHobnob · 26/02/2008 21:13

hi all

here briefly with message from Alicet - she misses mumsnet and ebay and all of us! - and hopes to be back online asap, but by the end of the week. I saw her and Adam today and they were fine. She says hi to everyone, anyway.

Off to bed as Rebecca has been sleep avoiding as ever and I am zonked!

Hugs and hopefully a proper message soon!

FloriaTosca · 26/02/2008 22:07

Hi All!

Sorry I've not been around. It was a busy weekend...(friends sons 1st birthday)...and then Monday we spent a lovely afternoon lunching with gorgeous Anya and her lovely Mum. And today was our first proper talkfirst signing class in the morning and then swimming lesson in the afternoon..I dont know about Alex but I'm pooped!Best news for me is....Four nights now with only 1 feed!!!!!! And I'm pretty certain he'd settle back to sleep within 5 mins at 4am if I let him but I still need to feed him ( it is getting a little less agonising already so I may be able to drop that feed too in a week or so) anyone still needing the sleep document let me know and I'll forward it.

Inzi; I'd second Muppet on the trying a little baby rice...I did a couple of times @ 17 wks, it am afraid it did nothing for Alex but it was worth the try,... we weathered the storm and things have become more settled...it is a stage it will pass

Choc; sincerely hope Rebecca gives you some sleep at last....you will feel like a new woman when she finally does! Tell alice that we miss her too

Hope eveyone else is fit and well.

muppetgirl · 26/02/2008 22:57

Henry woke at 10pm screaming for food he's NEVER done that before so it's decision made, baby rice from tomorrow...

I bet he wakes early tomorrow too

Am tired now so will post tomorrow

MrsFish · 27/02/2008 01:32

I'm awake as the earthquake woke me up at 1am, yes I do really mean it, we have had an earthquake in Derby, pretty far reaching too, people in London have felt it, but it is mainly up NOrth where it was strongest.

Off to bed again now the excitement has worn off

muppetgirl · 27/02/2008 07:31

Am soooooooo tired. Too much tennis and H waking up has well and truly knackered me.

Earthquake???? How exciting! I was in the land of nod then so missed it going to take ollie to school and then go back to bed
