...on the other side H is 16 weeks on MOn and I've not had an af at all....

J2O · 22/02/2008 22:48

aha! managed to log in, was putting J20 instead of J2O iyswim.

well, i've had a lovely little girl today-so far, apart from being up at 5am and her learning to pull my hair, like a little savage, but she's been all smily and cooey, she's gone to bed now so having a bit of me time on the net
can't say the same for dd1, she's been horrible, but really can't be bothered to go into it, its just he same old attitude she gets when spending time with her father and his cronies.

poor Alice can't have sorted a computer lead out yet, i bet she is pulling her hair out not being able to get online!

also not heard from Inzi, hope she's ok.

oh and we also have a little wriggler here, she just doesn't stop moving, not even when she's sleeping or having a bottle and she's so grippy with her hands iykwim, always clenching and unclenching them, usually on the skin on my hand, do people think that means she's frustated?

and one more thing-she's had a rash round her neck for a few days, i thought it was the dribbling and being sick making her bibs wet and rubbing, but i have kept her as dry as possible and put sudocrem on it and its still there, i'm wondering if she may be allergic to her new bibs?

sorry for the me me post, couldn't find anything to really reply to, since you're all going to the london meet up and i have never even been to london harumph!

anyway off to look round at the other threads, see if anything good's happening xx

J2O · 22/02/2008 22:51

Sorry you are having such a crap time Inzi, I hope the doctor can sort you out once and for all.

LES - can't believe how much your lo was eating so young greedy beggar Ben has been on 4 bottles of 8oz the past three days with 3 lots of cereal/purees in between. He loves the food, nothing is spat back out and I can't get the food in quick enough Today is his fourth day of soya milk and his skin is practically normal, wish I had ignored the HV and tried him on it sooner, milk smells and tastes awful though, but he seems to like it Although he is going 12-14 hours between feeds at night he has started waking up more in the night. Last night he was in bed for 7pm and was awake at 10pm, 11pm, 12.30am, 3.30am and then 7am and that was with having 10ounces in his last feed hopefully tonight will be different.

ChocolateHobnob · 23/02/2008 17:10

Hi all

just popping in to say hugs to Inzi! hope you feel better soon!

Strawberry, what activity centre did you buy?

Alicet's internet connection has gone off temporarily - saw her and lovely Adam yesterday and they were fine!

Off to feed the little gannet, who has taken to cackling spookily (her version of a laugh!!!)....

Mine · 23/02/2008 17:25

get well soon Inzi.

I think i'd fall apart of i fell ill with ds to look after.... I'm a bit of a baby myself when i'm ill so hugs to you inzi!!

Strawberry - you've mentioned your activity centre a couple of times, sounds like lo loves it.... what is it???? and how old is your lo??
Just trying to see if it might be something my ds will enjoy.
Although he loves his baby gym, i think he's slowly getting bored of it!!
He's 18 weeks on monday.
Hope everyone is having a lovely weekend.
x

FloriaTosca · 23/02/2008 21:56

Inzi(((((BIG HUGS)))) It never rains but it pours! I hope both you and your grandparents get better soon and Jane gives you a decent nights sleep to help you recover. And at the stupid woman unable to control her dogs..some people!!!And of course it happens when DH is away I totally sympathise...the same happens here!!! I do hope everything gets better soon.

Mine; my lo got a Baby Einstein activity centre from the ils for Christmas; imho, I would have chosen the rainforest bouncy one to go with his gym but this was much more reasonable and he absolutely loves it, (though I have had to put a thin cushion under his feet so he can swivel himself round)...we alternate the gym, the activity centre and the walker at different parts of the day..each one will hold his attention for about 20 mins.Have fun trying them out

J20..with you on the hair pulling(ouch)..I'm seriously considering having mine all cut off. Sorry for Shannons sore neck..even more sorry I have no advice..except that Alex shed his skin on his neck after using a new bib..perhaps it is the material as you suspect.Did anyone send you the sleep document? If not I will.

Our news is that the sleep doc advice in my modified version seems to be working!!! Last night was our 2nd EVER (in 20 weeks)one feed night!!! He did wake at 2am but settled within my 5 min deadline...he might even have settled again at 4am but my boobs were desperate for relief(sorry if tmi) and he did feed well. He woke at 7am, I fed him and put him back down and he cooed and gurgled until 8am..all in all a success as far as I'm concerned..Dh thinks he's lulling us into a false sense of security and is going to give us the night from hell as soon as we relax!

gemmamc · 24/02/2008 08:46

Hi all,
sorry I haven't posted for ages. Ds is doing well, growing and developing, etc.....BUT the sleep is going very badly...having gone back to sleeping very very badly at night - waking up every 2 hours!! Partly it may be due to a bad cold he's had, but this has now been going on for ages so it may be becoming a habit. I am also wondering whether he is hungry but I am trying to wait as much as I can to introduce solids because there is a history of allergies in the family. Can someone PLEASE send me this doc on sleep you are all talking about???

[email protected]

Inzi - sorry you are having a hard time. I can't even imagine how I would feel if DH left for 2 weeks, let alone having lots of other stuff going on....

Mine - my ds is 16 weeks and is definitely starting to get bored in the babygyms (I have 3 different ones). Good to hear people are finding other solutions to keep them busy. I am reluctant to buy another toy.... I have found that if I just put him in the sling and get out when he is looking restless he seems happy. Cant' do that all the time, though...so any other tips on keeping him busy welcome.

TheLadyEvenstar....I may be interested in the London meetup although it depends where it is. I don't have a car, so it has to be somewhere easily reachable by public transport. I suppose Greenwich would not be too difficult for me though.

gemmamc · 24/02/2008 08:50

Ah and J20 - ds also has a rash on his neck.....hmmmm. NO idea what it is. I just noticed it this morning actually. I didn't know you could put a barrier cream there. Let me know if you figure out what yours is. Guess I have to go see the HV again. I hate going as at my surgery it's so crowded and it's a long wait to be seen....

AnyasMum07 · 24/02/2008 19:03

at all the rolling - Anya's not quite there yet but she's trying really hard. She's getting very frustrated lying down all the time and she's bored in her babygym - she loves being upright. I can't wait to get an activity centre for her but the genetics doctor will shout at me if I do it yet. ...and we're still waiting on a date for her MRI scan.

LES - did the CDs etc arrive? Not pressuring you to do them at all - just that I know the reliability of our dear postal system!

Those doing baby sign classes - where did you find out about them? I bought a baby signing book a while ago but I looked at it properly for the first time today and it's rubbish! For some reason it's obsessed with animals, and while I'm sure it would be wonderful for Anya to be able to tell me when she's seen a kangaroo (yes really in the book), I think it would be far more useful if she could tell me if she wants her nappy changing (yes really not in the book) . So I think I'll do a proper course instead.

Inzi - poor you, hope things getting better. Things v. bad if you can't have a glass of wine! Well done on having such well behaved dogs though - that's very impressive!

J2O - no idea about rash, or about clenching hands thing. Sorry to be so unhelpful!

MrsFish - glad Ben's skin is better.

Choc - at cackling!

Hi to everyone else!

Sorry, that was really tasteless, and I've probably caused offence. I posted without thinking, but that's no excuse. Apologies to everybody. I've tried to find out how to delete posts but can't find anything on the website - anybody know how?

ejt1764 · 24/02/2008 21:41

inzi - twas me - glad to have made you laugh - sorry you've been having a crappy time!

I had a lovely birthday - I went to the Haven spa yesterday morning and had a hot stone massage, a facial, and reflexology - I was seriously spaced out after that! Rhydian had been to the jewellers and bought (under guidance from dh) a lovely necklace on a purple leather thong for me - apparently he'd made a bee-line for the clogau gold counter first of all (that's my boy!)
Then we had friends around last night, and we had a Murder-mystery party - 1960's theme - I was dressed up as Mary-Jane Faithless (aka Marianne Faithful) - it was a really good laugh!

Am feeling somewhat .... jaded ... today though ... bed at 1.30am - up again at 5am with Mairwen, who has decided that 5am is a reasonable time to get up ...

Right, am off to bed - we've been to my mum and dad's this afternoon, and my mum cooked us a meal - including my favourite pudding: treacle sponge and custard ... I had lost a grand total of 10lbs - think I'll have put of that back on again after this weekend!

love and hugs to all ...

ejt1764 · 24/02/2008 21:44

oooh, and was thinking at 5am, that it was about time we had another roll-call - we haven't had one for a long time - since just after the babies were born, I think ... I'll start:

1st October - ejt1764 - baby girl - Mairwen - weighed 16lb 4oz at 20 weeks - child #2 also have ds Rhydian (5) - still exclusively bf - haven't started weaning yet, and Madam refuses all attempts at giving her a bottle or a dummy!

muppetgirl · 24/02/2008 22:03

Hi all

Anyas mum - DOn;t worry, we all have naughty thoughts....
Re the signing - I used these books are they're great has signs for, more, nappy, sleep, milk, more etc all the things they need in their lttle lives atm. I would start now if I were you as she will take them in even if she doesn't sign back. Talkfirst here have classes up north.

Inzi - you're doing fab! and at that dog owner...

Ejt - glad you had a lovely relaxing birthday.

Muppet - 5th Nov - Henry - Weighed 16lb 10oz at 14 weeks (16 weeks now)- second son, 1st Oliver (nearly 4)- not weaning just having 9oz bottles.

strawberrylace · 24/02/2008 22:16

Hello everyone
Hope you all had a good weekend. We have spent most of it in the garden ? DH has redone a fence and laid our patio slab path to the shed, and I have hacked at various shrubs and re-turfed bits of grass. DS slept soundly in his pushchair, so a good weekend was had by all!
Inzi ? poor you ? sounds like a nightmare time, all that at once.
J2O ? DS also grips everything - when feeding he sometimes wrings his hands together like an old man about to make a speech!
MrsFish ? glad the soya milk seems to be having a positive effect
Choc/Mine ? the activity centre is this one from Mamas & Papas. Quite expensive, but its two things in one so will hopefully last a while. It keeps him amused for a good 20mins, which is the max length of time they recommend they should stay in it for at any one time. He?s 20 weeks now and loves being upright?
Floria ? keeping my fingers crossed for you on the sleep front
Ejt ? your birthday presents sound great!
