Hello ladies!

Well here is the new thread so I can link it before the old one runs out... Hope you all find it!

She said last week that she could... she rang her two weeks ago and it was her that suggested the latest cream which is the ;liquid parraffin. It has cleared up the eczema but he is just red and very very dry now. Anyhoo, I'm off there now and just see what she says

muppetgirl · 31/01/2008 13:06

Henry has just finished another 8oz bottle adn has had 22ozs altogether so far today. He has 3 bottles still to go!!

ejt1764 · 31/01/2008 13:47

I hope you get your referral!

MrsFish · 31/01/2008 15:06

The blinkin HV wasn't it today, so the woman covering couldn't do anything. I have managed to get a cancellation with the docs for 4.30 though, so we'll see what she says. Plus she can arrange for us to go private rather than wait

alicet · 31/01/2008 15:58

LES shocked to hear of what you have been through honey - just wanted to add my hugs and support to everyone elses. Can't imagine what you went through and it's not surprising you are struggling with panic attacks. Would agree with the others that counselling may help if you haven't explored this route already? On a more happy note - Happy Birthday! Think it was tomorrow? Hope you have a goody.

Ejt still no decision from my mum's bro's re a date so no further forward with Ledbury I'm afraid. Sorry about this - will be in touch with you asap. On a different note congrats on the weight loss and fab news on Mairwen's sleeping!!!

Floria great news on Alex's sleep too!

MrsFish hope you make some progress with the docs later

Anyasmum enjoy your night out!

Muppet good luck with your sampler and organinsing Henry's christening! You and ejt put me to shame - I'm useless at stuff like that!

J2O what a tosser behaving like that! He deserves a good slap.

Inzi big hugs - hope Jane settles down soon

Well not been on so much recently so finding it hard to keep up to dateso sorry if I have missed anyone out - not intentional! Nothing new really in our house - Adam is doing great - he is really smily and happy a the moment and is a joy to be with. Even finding the joint bath / bed thing OK now although I'll not speak too soon! Hope you are all enjoying your los too - I think this is about the age where it just starts getting exponentially better and better and they really start to turn into little people. Enjoy!

LES I am shocked and sorry too - poor you and I agree a counsellor might help (well it wouldn't hurt at worst).

Mrs F, good luck with the referral.

Quick message as Rebecca is going to wake up any minute but had to tell you something funny. Usually when Rebecca and Adam meet they ignore each other. Then on Tuesday at baby massage they turned to each other and Adam started to flirt!!! He was smiling and cooing. She smiled back but didnt speak (playing hard to get). It was so funny. Adam is a regular Casanova!

I love spending time with Rebecca; she's such a character, and yes a real person and very smiley. I thought it would be a lot harder than this - the hardest thing for me has been the lack of sleep but the daytimes are mainly just fun and smiles...

hope the rest of you are okay!

alicet · 31/01/2008 16:13

What Rebecca is asleep!!!?!?!

Yep - my boy is quite the flirt!

MrsFish · 31/01/2008 18:47

Well I now have an emollient, hydrocortisine (sp?) cream and antibiotics for Ben. Doc says that if that hasn't made a big difference by tuesday she will refer me to a dermatologist then.

Mine · 31/01/2008 20:42

hello ladies,
hope al is well.
So much going on in the thread recently, can;t keep up!

Very much looking forward to the london meet up. Will have to clear some space for you guys and the little bambinos.

Had a very long day... took my dad to Royal Free hospital today for all day tests... they think he may have the early on comings of Alzheimer's. Then got home and got a call from my dad sobbing, as he just got a call from overseas to say his best friend of 50 years just died out of the blue. Its horrible having to hear your own dad cry.

DH was looking after ds all day whilst i was at the hospital with my dad. Got several frantic calls as he was playing up for his dad!! I must say i'm secretly pleased... gave ds a big pat on the back! At least dh can now see that this is my day, every day, and that i still manage to do all the usual home/cooking etc type things. Maybe he'll appreciate the fact that i ask for help not because i'm lazy, but because it need it!!
Tee hee!!

Off to change a smelly nappy

FloriaTosca · 31/01/2008 22:04

Oh Mine!!! I'm so sorry about your Dad. We have been there with family members twice but that was before they had any effective treatment. I hope they can do something for yor dad to delay the development of the disease...there are a lot of good support groups out there that helped us a lot.
Glad for your sake that ds showed his daddy what a day with a lo is like
I hope you all have a wonderful meet up ....enjoy.... I must admit to already getting really excited about the York meet on Monday (weather permitting )

MrsFish · 01/02/2008 08:40

Chocolate - You should get this for Rebecca here

FloriaTosca · 01/02/2008 09:15

Mornin' (yawn)
Another 3 feed night bed at 8pm, 12.45, 2.10, 5.10 and up at 7.15 but all half asleep so no long sessions, he also woke twice with wind but managed to settle himself so one step forward another back, ho hum, "it is a stage, it will pass."

We got the samsonite pop up bubble travel cot off e-bay,so that is the first thing for our hols bought...also bought an octagonal playpen/room divider for keeping him out of harms way when crawling starts which was an excellent price (smile)

Off to walk the dog now before it snows and then its bounce and rhyme at the library. Have a good day all.

Happy Birthday Les; hope you have a brilliant day - enjoy!
Mine, sorry to hear about your Dad. HOpe you have an easier day today. And big sympathy to those who had troubled nights. We, amazingly, had our best night yet - she did 6 hours in her cot, up for a feed at 2 - 3 and then woke up again at 6 for another. I brought her into bed then, but it was ironic because yesterday I made the decision to keep her in bed with us for a few more weeks just until she settled more into a routine cause she was only doing 1 1/2 - 2 hours in her cot. And then lo and behold, daddy put her down with some ebm and she sleeps! So, I think the problem is that my milk is way too low at bedtime and she needs more calories to get her through the night. Think I may have to start mix feeding. Does anyone else just give one bottle at bedtime?? would love to hear how it worked out etc. I do feel a bit sad aboutit, only because I wanted to do as long with Madeleine as I did with DS (total b/f until 8months and then a bottle of formula at night) but it is just so much harder to feed with a toddler running around like a lunatic!

The other big event in our house is that we are toilet training DS and so far, so brilliant! He has had one accident in 2 days - every other time in the toilet. Despite my mum going on and on about doing it early, I'm glad I waited - they do get it so much quicker the older they are. mrs fish, how long after day time did you start doing night times without a nappy? (I only ask cause I know you did this recently too)

right - DS napping, DD out with DH - must go and get a cuppa and eat my body weight in rubbish see you all later - have lovely afternoons.

alicet · 01/02/2008 14:58

Choc or this t-shirt!!! we have a blue one like it for Adam!

LES Happy Birthday!

Mine so sorry to hear about your dad and his friend. Nice one your ds showing his dad how tough it is though

Nellie I mix fed Sam like this for several months and it worked really well and made a massive difference to his sleeping. Understand you feeling sad about this but if you are better rested that can only benefit your los... A personal thing though that only you can decide on.

Stefka and Floria sorry to hear about the lack of sleep. Keep repeating 'it's only a phase and it WILL pass!' slowly and loudly!

Looking forward to York on Mon too!!!!

Happy Birthday tLES!!

nellie - sorry to hear you're having problems - have you tried expressing your first thing in the morning milk, then using that for the late night ebm bottle feed? The milk first thing in the morning is richer in fat - so takes longer for them to digest ... amd the sleeping thing I'm convonced is down to the individual baby: Rhydian was mixed fed, with formula at night from about 2/3 months - and he was a famously bad sleeper ... Mairwen is already beating him in the amount that she sleeps at night, and she's exclusively bf.

Right, Mairwen just had a fit od the screaming hab-dabs, so I took her out to the post office to post the joggers for Anyasmum - think I may have just hit it at the right time - the sky is becoming increasingly dark and snowy-looking!

Have a good weekend all!

MrsFish · 01/02/2008 15:56

nellie - After the 4th day of being dry Sam has only had one wet nappy at night and that was about a week in. I kept him in a pull ups for nights only for 3 weeks and he was dry every morning so he now just wears his pants at night and pretty much goes all night without waking for the loo. It amazes me, because I have to get up at least twice in the night for a wee and he goes 12 hours

muppetgirl · 01/02/2008 17:40

HI all

Had a busy day! Henry woke again at 4.50am and had 8ozs! Yesterday he had 37 ozs altogether and so far he's had 30 ozs. We've now started to make 9oz bottles just in case....

Dh took Ollie to school while I got Henry ready as he was in creche for an hour whilst dh and I played tennis. The tennis coach asked if I could stay to do the tennis welcome ( an introduction to the tennis at the club and they gauge how you are and advise a class) I was told I was beginner and advised to to a 4 week tennis course starting on Monday (it's free) and I could join the beginners club night on Sunday. I met two ladies who introduced me to their friend who plays on sunday and they have suggested that we all play as a foursome. Really pleased as I'm getting out and getting fitter

Took dogs for a long walk as the pesky Jack Russell chewed dh's running shoes -both pairs so he is ready to shoot him. Also, can anyone tell my why my black lab has just started to eat his own poo????? REALLY disgusting I know but he does.

Dh out to tennis night and I'm cooking dinner and intending to put the boys to bed at 6.30. Ollie is knackered and we are going to the Natural History Museum tomorrow so I think I'll try to get an early night.

Nellie - I b/f Henry with a bottle at 10pm. He did sleep till 6-7am for about 3 weeks but I think he is going through a growth spurt atm as he's started waking again around 4.30-5. I don't b/f anymore (am very about that....)

Dh and I did discuss the possibility of number 3.....

J2O · 01/02/2008 17:53

HAPPY BIRTHDAY Les!

sorry can't stop, haven't had time to read properly, going to take kids out for tea to local pub and be a bad mummy and drink mucky bee! not loads though

ChocolateHobnob · 01/02/2008 18:01

hi all

Happy birthday LES! Did you get some nice pressies?

ha ha at the T-shirts- you're probably right! DH likes that site, has already got her some funky t-shirts from there.

Muppet - Henry is on a permanent growth spurt! You're doing so well!

Nellie, Rebecca is fully bf but she only feeds at 8.30 pm, 2.30 and then again in the morning, so I haven't needed to introduce a bottle (good job since she objects!) but once I tried to express in the evening and there was almost no milk there! I feed on one side at 7 and then after bath, massage etc I feed on the other at 8 30 and this seems to tank her up till 2.30. It doesnt however keep her asleep...

Stefka, sorry Dareh is sleeping less - growth spurt? I blame everything on growth spurts.

Well, my inlaws are here now, as in, DH has gone to collect them, for the weekend. We are doing raclette tonight but it's bound to go wrong as the Rebecca bedtime routine is slow and as new people peering at her will excite her again. She gets bored with mummy!!
Wish me luck!
