PCF ... your earlier post brought tears to my eyes. The school sounds lovely and I'm sure he will be very happy there. For what its worth I think that every mother gets a bit emotional when they know its time to send their LO's off to school, I know I did. Its the start of a new era for them and us.

Does the school offer horse riding lessons ? I ask because I used to do voluntary work helping out at the lessons and it was a lovely thing to do, great for me as I like horsey stuff (without the bother of actually owning one )and lovely to see the kiddies growing in confidence and ability as the weeks went on. We had quite a few autistic kiddies (as well as blind ones) and it really seemed to help them.

Well DS2 has discovered a new trick... throwing stuff down the loo. We've had toothbrushes, shower gel and now his shoo shoes. Yuk !

Oh and remind me not to give him mangoes agsin for a while.... 4 dirty nappies today already !

Reggiee · 24/01/2008 17:53

Wilkie/MrsC lol - am available for mating most evenings

2H a morphy richards thingy. Might try and do a link....

EaH feels like I am waiting an eternity for laptop. Coming from Dell and estimate delivery 5 Feb!! I want it now
Yeah payday is a long time coming. Still another week to wait. Sigh. Or maybe I can't complain given I've just bought a laptop (birthday money and been saving).

PCF hope you're ok. The school really does sound nice, I'm sure ds will blossom. Hope you treat yourself with the water money

Hmmm...note to self...avoid mangoes.....

Slow Cooker for 2H

ladytophamhatt · 24/01/2008 18:56

Hmmmm, I'm sure there was something i was going to post one here. Thought this afternoon when my mindee was here" Ohhh I must ell the PN thread " and now I've bloody forgot what it was..grrrrrrrrr

Lizzzombie · 24/01/2008 19:12

PCF - I think you definately deserve a pre wedding treat with the water money.

KWK - things down the loo - i am not looking forward to that one!

Lth - how is the chickenpox epidemic in your house? Was discussing the merits of chickenpox parties with a friend this morning, and she is on the look out for anyone with it at the moment, so she can rub her DD up against them! Am thinking its a good idea for DJ to get it as young as possible too!

Lizzzombie · 24/01/2008 19:13

ps - I have a really annoying ulcer on the tip of my tongue (too many lies or a hot drink, not sure which!) its been there for 2 days and it really hurts. does anyone know a remedy which will get rid of it?

eandh · 24/01/2008 19:27

cant help Lizz but I was so hungry that I ate my dinner and it was to hot and the chicken pie has burnt the roof of my mouth

ladytophamhatt · 24/01/2008 19:29

yes, stop telling fibs

As for the chicken pox..well it turned out not to be CP and just a random rash. Just as well really because after so many ill children and husband I was sick to death of caring for people. 2 children with CP would have snet me dooooooolally.

eandh · 24/01/2008 19:35

best bit LTH is that 1 catches it and you just get them cleared up then the next one gets it - honestly 4 weeks of scratch scrath, itch, itch did my head in

ladytophamhatt · 24/01/2008 19:46

thats how it happen with ds1+2, I was 12 weeks PG with ds3 at the time too so that was really great fun!

2happy · 24/01/2008 19:53

Thanks RGee!
KW3 - we have one of these - ever since ds1 at this age dropped dh's car keys down the loo. It's better than the other sort IMO because it doesn't need the man to remember to re-lock, so long as he remembers to put the loo seat down (BIG if!).
PCF - I hope Alex will be really happy at his new school x

pmsl - 2Happy - did you get the toilet lock free when you brought the shag pile coverlet for the toilet seat?!

2happy · 24/01/2008 20:52

Oh but it suits my hand-knitted toilet roll cover perfectly

OP posts:
bunnyhunny · 24/01/2008 20:53

I am def gonna get one of those toilet locks! i had to rescue a car from the loo the other day, and got to my mobile just before s dropped it down! He makes a bee-line for the toilet whenever the bathroom door is open..

laughalot · 24/01/2008 20:55

Pcf I think the school sounds fab and it it was so nice to hear how he has come on in the last year. It is probably worth having a word with the doc about how you are feeling as you need looking after aswell. Just one thing I dont seem to have my wedding invite .

Right bath time for me been at work today so always rushing on a thursday.

susiecutiemincepies · 24/01/2008 23:42

hi guys, just a real quicky, but need to ask an urgent question... will only be able to look back first thing as am going up to Newcastle to spend some time with DH. thank god!!!! so excited... its been nearly nearly month since he had a whole weekend anyway. He will be at work mostly, but at least we'll be under one roof for a few nights!

SO, back to the question!!

What size disposable nappies should I get for Isobel? She has been in washables since she was 4months old, so I've NO idea what size to buy. Cannot manage for 4 days with no machine etc so need to use disposables. bare in mind she is smaller than average...

any help greatly received. ( will post in chat now, just incase none of you are about til after we go for the train.

Thanks in advance!

eandh · 25/01/2008 05:52

theUrbanDryad · 25/01/2008 08:11

morning all, sorry i vanished, me and dh have been having some real problems. to the point where i actually left him on Wednesday! i've been staying with my mum but am going back this afternoon to see if we can sort stuff out.

Z had his first taster session at nursery on Wednesday morning (so Wed was a busy day for me all round!) and he loved it. Went off without a second glance but was very pleased to see me when i came to pick him up an hour later. Shimmer - have you managed to leave F yet? at the nursery Z was at, they said they would try to get him to bond with a member of staff. and most kids cry for a minute or so when their mums leave, then get on with playing. Z usually cries for 5 mins, then when i pick him up - I guess he doesn't like to lose face (or he likes to make me feel wanted! )

he's properly walking now, we went to the park yesterday with my mum and he got rather muddy! i'm looking for some waterproof dungarees for him, any recommendations? he's not saying much, only mumma and dada, and eeeeee (we think this may be cat!) but signs for daddy, mummy, biscuit, food, drink, milk, more, all gone, poorly and signs along with me when i sing to him! hope he won't be a mute! but i bet i won't be saying that in a year's time when all i can hear is "Mumma mumma mumma mumma mumma mumma mumma MUMMA MUMMMMMMMAAAAAAA!" (me) "WHAT?" "I wuuuuuv yooooou." (my godson used to do this and drove his mum mad!)

anyway, sorry no personals but will try to catch up later. ttfn!

eandh · 25/01/2008 09:28

oh UD sounds like you have had a tiem of it lately, hope you and dh can sort it out later and great news re Z at nursery

Am at work its 9.26 and I am bored already no work been left for me and far to many staff in so may pop out later and get my hair cut

Wilkie · 25/01/2008 10:45

UD - you poor thing, am always on the end of the phone if you need a chat.

Can onyl be quick - have estate agent coming to take photos of the house for the brochure - EAH you would be so proud, it has NEVER looked so clean and tidy!!!!

katwith3kittens · 25/01/2008 11:13

UD ... you are going through it aren't you . You know you have done loads recently, pregnancy, wedding, baby, new job, new house, its not really surprising things are getting to you both. You will get through it .... ....not that I'm a really huggy person, so you are honoured.

Well one of DHs friends is 40 in a couple of months. He is hiring a house nr Worthing for the weekend and wants us to be there .... BUT ..... without kids

I'm kind of excited but also kind of nervous as its the first time I've been away from DS2 ( so he'll have to be off the boob by then ). I'm not sure who the other guests are so could be interesting .

So Susie, you are back up in the toon then ? I would come down and stalk you but I've got to go out shopping for shag pile toilet seats ....

MrsCarrot · 25/01/2008 11:14

Sorry to hear that, UD, hope things get sorted out. Remember moving house is about the most stressful thing you can do short of having a baby, and, you have a baby! Maybe once you settle in and the weather gets warmer you will both feel better and more able to compromise/communicate and so on. Good luck.

Susie - F is maxi plus in the nature nappies and I think they're pretty much the same as all the others.
