Kat - we have one of those booster seat type high chairs which DJ uses. Dead cheap and can be altered as he gets older, but isnt as bulky as having a high chair in the house.

Shimmer · 18/01/2008 15:28

Well F's first morning at nursery went ok. I only left him for an hour and a half in tghe end. They said he was absolutly fine for the first 45 mins and then suddenly got upset. He was obviously carried away with all the toys & other children and then suddenly realised I wasn't there He won't eat any of the lunch they gave him, which is pretty unusual as he's general incredably greedy and scoffs food constantly at home. When I came back to pick him up he saw me and burst into tears

We've got 2 more settling in sessions next week before he starts properly. So hopefully he'll get a bit more used to it and things will imprve soon. It's all made me feel very emotional.

Happy birthday Max!!

Shimmer · 18/01/2008 15:31

Sympathies Lizz. I know exactly what you're going though! "I just want a well paid job in which I can use my head a bit but work PT in" - ahhhh the holy grail of the working mum....

theUrbanDryad · 18/01/2008 15:40

our nursery visit went well - Z has his first settling in session next wednesday. i left him upstairs while i went to look round and he didn't even want to come back to me when i went to get him the manager was going on about how they try to get each child to form a bond with their key worker and i was stood there thinking "I don't want him to form a bond with anyone but me!" stupid.

laughalot · 18/01/2008 18:18

Happy birthday max !!!!

Reggiee · 18/01/2008 18:22

Hi all. Sorry to hear about recent shitty days that have been going on.

Happy birthday to Max!

DH out running so I am eating Green&Blacks Butterscotch chocoalte out of boredom. Got a G&B hamper for Xmas (big nom noms!) and surprisingly slowly working my way through it.
Had a nice day today. Pip had her booster jab this morning, and I am soooo proud, she didn't flinch when the needle went in, and has been fine all day. Chubby thighs rule! Then my mate and her ds came round this afternoon.

Just spoken to vino who's coming over tomorrow afternoon. Really looking forward to seeing you & E, and catching up!
Anyone doing anything exciting this weekend?

Lizz have you tried your local council for a job? They sometimes have good admin posts that are pt.
Shimmer, I too am down in London soon. Got meetins on 6 & 7 Feb, and 15 Mar.

UD how are you settling in to your new gaff? Have you managed to unpack yet?

HI to everyone else

ladytophamhatt · 18/01/2008 19:11

All you bored SAHMs need to have more children...I can't remebr the last time I had the luxury of being bored

I'm now an official (not registarted though) childminder too. got my 1st paycheque yesterday.

MrsCarrot · 18/01/2008 19:16

I have three and I get bored, LTH, sometimes I gaze out of the window longing for something interesting to happen. Even if you are DOING something that needs doing, which is most of the day, I think, I don't want to be doing this, it is soo boring.

Not the baby bit - I enoy that, in fact I am enjoying playing and singing and just spending time with F much more than the others but the DOMESTICITY drives me a bit loopy.

This is the first time I haven't been studying in years though so maybe I need to get a crossword or something.

ladytophamhatt · 18/01/2008 19:22

I know MrsC , it was maent kind of tongue in cheek...didn't come out right on teh screen though.

MrsCarrot · 18/01/2008 19:34

I know what you mean

Lizzzombie · 18/01/2008 19:49

Oj, wtf is going on with my baby.
5pm- big tea 2 x sausages, marmite sandwiches, half an apple (I know its a random mix - he's going through a fussy stage...he ate half, yes half a broccilli for lunch!)

Bath time
In the night garden tv

6pm - 7oz milk straight down.
Bed at 7 ish, screams for 15 mins
4oz water!
7.30pm 7 oz milk straight down, screams for 5 mins and falls asleep.

I don't understand!

Lizzzombie · 18/01/2008 19:50

OK not Oj...?!

ladytophamhatt · 18/01/2008 20:06

Lizz, ds4 has been eating like a horse over the last few days too. DH gave him lunch yesterday nd was amzed at how much he ate -one slice of toast, 1.5eggs scrambled, and jar of fruit- Then at dinner he ate abowl of patsa bigger then ds3s and yoghurt.

He'd eat all day if he could I think.

Actaully I statred a thread a minute ago about how do I stop him eating the dog food without starving the dog? Honestly teh boy loves the stuff.

2happy · 18/01/2008 20:06

Happy birthday Max!!

Lizz - I think we're just not meant to understand them! In my children's current game of not-sleeping tag, ds1 took ages to go off last night, ds2 was up at 5.30, and now both of them aren't going to sleep tonight

OP posts:
eandh · 18/01/2008 20:12

Happy Birthday Max

Hattie was a nightmare last nighte gave up at 1.30am and put her in bed with us and oh she fell asleep within minutes but what a surprise wide awake at 5.32am (again!)

Let them both stay up till 7pm tonight Ellie went to bed and sleep straight away, Hattie screamed until 7.35 and must have screamed herself to sleep gggrrrrrrrrrr (and she'll be awake at 5.32 I can guaranteeit)

Lizz - maybe growth spurt, is DJ walking yet, Hattie would eat all day but she does spend 85% of her waking time walking around (she has mastered walking backwards but then falls over evertything)

LTH do you have a pic of G and the dog sharing a snack??

eandh · 18/01/2008 20:15

sorry didnt really explain the walking thing I think she burns alot more energy off now and gets hungrier.

However, she will eat anything and everything, if she finished before Ellie (which is common as Ellie takes forever to eat) Hattie starts eating Ellie's dinner and god forbid you don't have the pudding ready, she screams the moment you take her plate away till a yoghurt or pudding is placed in front of her

Lizzzombie · 18/01/2008 20:16

Fair enough!
2happy - hope they go to sleep soon!
Lth - didn't know you had a dog - what kind?

Ok, so DP came home for 5 mins and went out to a baby head wetting in Brighton tonight, so goodness knows what time he will be home.

I have to wash the kitchen floor
Do a ton of ironing
Put together a tricycle

BUT I have had half a bottle of wine and eaten enough risotto to feed a small army.
Hmm...would rather just play scrabble or MN or something!

bunnyhunny · 18/01/2008 20:16

happy birthday max!

lizz - S has been scoffing a lot too recently, and doing the screaming malarky before bed. No idea why - I think he's just being alittle piggy.
Are you not enjoying your mothercare job?

lth - pmsl at eating the dogfood! I hope its the dry stuff..

we went to the soft play thingybob today with sauls 'friends' (ie my friends babies ), which was lovely. He has got a big stash of presents building up in the corner of the room, which he plays with although they are all wrapped up!

bunnyhunny · 18/01/2008 20:17

lizz - i believe it is illegal to do housework on a friday night

Lizzzombie · 18/01/2008 20:19

Ahh - PCF - cute!
Where did you go?

Have you been to the one in Newhaven? (I think it has an Italian name) - LTH - do you know what I am talking about?

Mothercare job is ok, its just hard work for not alot of money!

ladytophamhatt · 18/01/2008 20:27

Funnily enough Eandh I took some photos a minte ago.... hang on will try and put them on.

Reggiee · 18/01/2008 20:36

What is it with all this food. Am sure Pip eats more than me . Maybe not then?

Reggiee · 18/01/2008 20:38

LTH pmsl at the pasta photo

BTW, is anyone's lo not walking? Pip is still showing no signs. Except when I'm sat on the sofa eating (chocolate, naturally) and she'll pull herself up to get a closer look atthe food

Reggiee · 18/01/2008 20:39

Just purchased a laptop. Can't wait for it to be delivered then I can MN every evening!!!

ladytophamhatt · 18/01/2008 20:59

photographic evidence of DS4 eating dogfood on profile.

RG, ds4 isn't walking, he's not even close TBh. He'll shuffle along the sofa etc but that all. He isn't standing unaided yet either.

ds2+3 didn't walk until they were about 15 months( I think) and they weren't even crawling at this age.....
