Lth - good bargain! (can't believe you came over to Grannie land and didnt meet up with me!)
Wilkie - I know what you mean re. FB. There are some v. strange people who I've not spoken to for 20 years who keep sending friend requests to me. Like why?! I have to admit I am a huge scrabble addict and mainly use it for that!
Eah - Fab bargain! If I wasnt so knackered I would run out to my local boots and hunt for £5 straighteners too! Mine have never quite been the same since I left them on all night...

Lizzzombie · 22/01/2008 15:07

& 2Happy - hope you get the Edinburgh zoo trip!
I've not taken DJ to our local zoo yet. I think I am very aware that I will start making animal noises like a total loony in a bid to encourage him...not sure if I can handle the shame yet!

susiecutiemincepies · 22/01/2008 15:41

Hello lovely laydeees

I lost you all! I was not able to get online for a few days, and the thread dropped off my list if that makes sense?

anyway, here you all are. Will try to catch up on thread now, but wanted to say hello before I lost you all again!

Just back from the Hopsital, had an MRI scan today on my back. Have some procedures being done on feb 14th in day surgery. SO finally feel like things are maybe happening....

Isobel with my mum again today, so I can rest. Had terrible spasm on thursday just as we were about to go to monkey music. Felt very bad that she was not able to go. Fingers crossed we can manaage this week though, Have any of you been to anyhting like this? If so, whats it like, and what do they do? Cant wait!

Hope you are all ok?

Catch you in a bit when I've caught up

laughalot · 22/01/2008 17:10

2happy edinburugh zoo is fab iv been .

2happy · 22/01/2008 17:16

dsis and dbil are members (they live in Edinburgh) so we went during the summer. I'm hoping a (probably chilly) weekend in February will be quieter!

LTH: I'm SO jealous! i've been wanting one of those myself, what a fab find!

Shimmer: sorry, no tips at all. I cannot bare the thought of having to leave isobel in nursery. At the moment it looks like its something I wont have to be worrying about as I'm not getting any closer to going back to work. I just hope he's a bit happier next time. I know they do get better, with time.

i cant get over all these teeth growing here! Iz only has 4 teeth. she wont let me ANYWHERE NEAR to feel for others. Im sure there is another one creeping in at the top, judging by her constant gnawing

Mrs C i have the same problem with raspberries here. found them all squashed under the highchair tray. along with a few bits of old pasta. I knew she had another hiding place.

ladytophamhatt · 22/01/2008 22:43

Am V V V pleased with my luvverly bag, I have to say. Won't be ebaying though....just in case I ever need a cahnging bag again

Shimmer, abit differnet but ds1 took years to settle about being left anywhere. From nursery at 2.5 yrs all the way to age 5 at school he cried every day. Some days were worse the others but IME some children just click straight away, some don't. Ds2 never cried. not once.
I'd give it a few more times and if he was still really upset I'd pull him out. Maybe he'd prefer a childminder or something?

haven't reda all the lastest posts but see FB has been mentioned. I want to delete mine too but its the only way I can share photos with my family because my outlook/email thing is dead. I'm bored with FB now, plus loads of people from school have found me now and quite frankly I hardly spoke a word to them when I was at school so I can see any point now either....
Does anyone know another way I can have an online photo album?

susiecutiemincepies · 22/01/2008 23:35

There are loads available. My friends have one with kodak. I have one with photo bucket. you have to give the pass word to people for that one, but then, at least it means only those you want to have it can see...

Google online photo albums, and there are a few to choose from. I think there is in fact a google one... or is it a yahoo one... anyway, have a browse!

I'm glad to say I didnt ever get caught up in the FB thing. I did for a bit on myspace, and like you, thought, why am I talking to people that i had not interest in when i saw them every day..

TrinityRhinosDhWonHerAnIPOD · 22/01/2008 23:37

can I still stay???
Gecko isn't one till the 7th of feb but I was pg with you guys

Wilkie · 23/01/2008 08:37

LTH - just to reiterate what Susie said - there are LOADS of online photo albums. I think photobox does one too. I am thinking of doing it. Loads of people from school who I really wouldn't piss on if they were on fire kept contacting me so I just kept hitting 'ignore' and got bored with it. For some people it appears to be a popularity contest ' I have 500 'friends', a lady I met on the bus, I guy I knocked a drink over in a bar... Just not for me anymore

Am gonna post another thread on this but does anyone else suffer with cracked heels? Mine are so dry and cracked, I bought Scholl Cracked Heel Repair Cream which does bugger all. ANy other suggestions cos they feel minging!!

LTH - are you planning another one?

Shimmer - not sure what to suggest re F. I think you may have to bite the bullet, leave him and then ring an hour later for a progress report. You will prob find he will be fine within 10 mins of you leaving.

Reggie - J has 7 teeth but no sign of any more coming through

Tantrums are coming thick and fast when I tell him 'No' (which seems to be a lot ATM!! ), he goes bright red in the face and goes rigid, so much so that he shakes with the effort. Quite amusing but wearing after the tenth time in as many minutes!

I am SO broody ATM. Not that we are going to try or anything but GOD I am broody.

MrsCarrot · 23/01/2008 08:42

I used that cream, Wilkie, and it worked after about a week but mine weren't too bad. The lady in the chemist said Scholl did a mega gel stuff for very bad heels but that was around £15 so I tried the cheaper one first. Was that the one you had?

laughalot · 23/01/2008 10:01

Aaah I had a phonecall of wilkies little j this morning it was very sweet he wanted to speak to lauren . Wilks there is a cream in boots called vesagex that worked for me after a few days.

L still only has four teeth but that dosent stop her munching.

Well need to get my bum off here and get some housework done.

Lizzzombie · 23/01/2008 11:03

Hi everyone!
DJ still only has 4 teeth. 2 bottom and 2 top fangs, no middle ones, he looks like a vampire!
He had his jabs this morning and I felt too guilty to drop him off at nursery straight after, just so I could clean my house in peace.
Is everyone here going for MMR? If not, can I ask why? Am a little bit scared of all the rumours and just wanted your opinions on it.

Wilkie - Australian Heel Balm, from boots. Its a miricle heel cream. My mum wrote to the company saying how much she loved it, and they sent her lots of samples! Can thoroghly recommend it.

Lizzzombie · 23/01/2008 11:04

Also known as flexitol

free samples here

HTH.

ladytophamhatt · 23/01/2008 11:57

Lizz, G will ahve the MMr but certainly not yet, and not for a good year or so either. IMO they're too young atm.

I did about you yesterday, but my shopping was a spur of the moment thing so couldn't let you know. Before I delte my FB thing we should exchange phone numbers then it;ll easy to meet up.

wilkie, ummmm, not really planning any more but who knows whats around the corner.....

better go, I've got my little mindee here today so shouldn't be on here.

Lizzzombie · 23/01/2008 12:11

LTH - I didnt know you could postpone the MMR. Do you know how long you are able to delay it for? There was a thread on CHAT the other day about a 20 month old having it I think, but I never read it.

Will email you my number. Am totally up for coming over your way soon too. Am slightly bored of the Arndale Centre at the moment, and need a change of scene!

Lizzzombie · 23/01/2008 12:12

If anyones interested here is the thread I meant.

MrsCarrot · 23/01/2008 12:22

mine had them around 18 months - 2 years, nurse said it was fine.

ladytophamhatt · 23/01/2008 12:24

ds3 has on;y just had it...and he's 4.

katwith3kittens · 23/01/2008 12:45

DS2 is already booked in for his. He will be about 14 months then.

I thought 12 months was the approximate time they 'lost' any immunity they had aquired from their mothers. I dont think it really matters though ... my others were later around 16 months.

Had his 1 year review this morning. Felt like a waste of time really.

Went a bit like ... 'Still BF ...? Oh good' ....'Sleeping ? ... oh well, he will do eventually'

'Call us if you need anything !'

The best thing about it was the free books he was given.... but even then I've got two of them already !

laughalot · 23/01/2008 12:48

I let aidan have it when he was young and I shall be with lauren this is a touchy subject for some people but mine will be having it .

Aidan has to have his pre school booster soon one in each leg I am looking forward to that .

Evening - hattoe had her booster yesterday and MMR is booked for next month (Can't remember if I posted ths yesterday but she didnt even cry at jab yesterday gave nurse a look and carried on eating milky stars!)

My brother phoned to see if him and nephew could pop in at 10am this morning, he finally left just after 5 him and nephew and e and h have eaten all the 'nice' food in the house so need to go and do a food shop at weekend dh moaning there is loads of food but its all 'boring')

Hattie had one 50 minute sleep all day at 11.45 so just put her to bed and she was asleep before I left the room

They both slept till 6.45am this morning so seems we have cracked Hatties early waking well maybe we'll see what she does tomorrow since bedtime was so early tonight)

Been looking for a midsleeper bed for Ellie I want a white one that has a flush ladder I can only find this bed and with the curtains it is £220 not including mattress I may go and measure her mattress to see if it will fit (doubt it though)

I am thinking ofone of these bedroom sets for her she likes the right hand side I like the left!

Reggiee · 23/01/2008 18:59

Hi folks
Just got letter thru today to book MMR, so guess I'll book that in for the coming month.

Wilkie, my heel's not too bad, but I have been picking an' a flicking loads of dead skin from my big toe. How gross am I [urgh]

Vino sends her love. They exhanged today, so are likely to move Friday. Her computer's down though so don't think she'll be able to post until it's back up in her new gaff. Think her and E aren't too well so hope they're better for the move.

LTH / Wilkie I know what you mean about FB. I so can't be arsed with it. LTH I echo others - you can share photos on loads of places - think I have a Truprint / Snapfish photoshating place.

Eah - I love all those bedroom sets! You might have to ask Lizz if she knows of any up and coming Mothercare sales for the bed though!

Kat I found the 1 yr review v strange too. A total waste of time. Especially when the hv was wittering on about that she'd dropped percentiles (gone from c 80% to 50%). Not like this was overnight (5 months!), she'd just been ill for 3 weeks and not eating as much, plus just started crawling!! Most strange.

Waves at Trinity.

HEllo to everyone else. Not much else to report. DH gone out to the pub. Footie on tonight.

bunnyhunny · 23/01/2008 19:35

pcf - do you think your ds's autism was caused by mmr? I don't know what to do about it myself , but am thinking of delaying it and then going for singles. Just as s is so allergic, chances are he will have a nasty reaction. Mind you, I havent got round to booking his hib and menc boosters yet, and they were due last week.

wilkie - my heels are grim too. They never used to be . A friend at work ahs a cheese grater type thing for hers. How grim is that?

I know what you all mean about fb. Seems kind of pointless really, especially when most people just pass on chain letters. But I do keep in contact with some uni friends, and I like to look at all your pics (those of you who i have on fb), so I wont get rid of it.

mmm, just send dh out for a chicken kebab and a bottle of wine, so I don't have work tomorrow so it feels like the weekend
