Its thick ...really, REALLY THICK !

I'm in Northumberland, not far from Newcastle btw, and I bet 2H is snowed in !!!!

They said it should be healed in 7 to 10 days, I just hope they are right as we are going skiing in 3 weeks !

Laughalot, arguments are horrible but the making up is fun

katwith3kittens · 21/01/2008 13:56

HeHe.... just wished for chocolate and its arrived

The nice old lady from next door has just brought loads of mini eggs and a huge bag of chocolates which were left from an engagement party they held yesterday.

I thought dinner was sorted too as 6 takeways of indian nibbly food came too.... unfortunately for a veggie, most of it contains some dinstinctively meaty looking meat

Still snowing .... [worried grin] as I'm thinking I'm going to have to go out soon.

Right, I'm off now to see if I can concetrate my wishing powers and get something really useful ....

laughalot · 21/01/2008 14:10

I want snow

ladytophamhatt · 21/01/2008 14:21

do you think our periods are syncronising??

Who else is due on??

I'm either due on very soon or late because I'm sure I was on on xmas/boxing day last time.....not PG btw just randomly late.

2happy · 21/01/2008 14:59

Weirdly, KW3, no snow on the ground here! Lots of sleet, and cars driving around have picked up snow and all the number plates are whited out, but it's too wet to lie I think. I've heard more inland lots of roads are closed. Hope you get out, and hope your hand and arse feel better soon, but no sympathy, if you've not enough padding on your bum you get no sympathy from me (who had to settle for size 14 trousers this morning ).

Fucking awful day at work today, capped by ds1 having a tantrum as soon as he saw me turn up at CM's because he didn't want to go home - did it all last week too. I don't know about periods being in synch (still nothing since ds1 was 10m old heh heh) but I think my toddler is definitely in synch with eandh's E. Maybe I am going to have a period tho, because I do feel really tearful today... God I hope not, I'm quite happy being period-less!

Happy Birthday Felix, hope you have a lovely day despite the weather

bunny-hunny - glad your day was good. What creams did you use? We use emulsifying ointment as a barrier cream, but ds1's skin still flares after swimming - just wondering if you have a better one!

Wilkie - I think she is a MNer; her articles certainly make her sound the type!

I need chocolate, but I feel fat. Miserable no matter what I do.

bunnyhunny · 21/01/2008 15:16

happy birthday felix! (he isn't on the list btw..)

kw3 ow! hope your wrist feels better soon. but very at snow - here in suffolk / cambs border, we never seem to get snow. I want a free day off work (benefit of being a teacher - snow days )

2h - I was a bit anal about his creams for swimming. I didnt bath him the night before so his skin wasnt dry to start with. Then I used epaderm (basically lard!) all over him, and put a swimming cossie on top. When we got out, I washed him twice in the showers using diprobase. Then I diprobase on his skin when it was dry. I reckon I used a week's supply of creams altogether lol. What do you currently use?

Did anyone check out that link I posted? Its amazing.

Hi all!
Happy birthday to Felix, and belated to Dylan and Saul. Hope the birthday boys had a lovely day, and mums are recovering

Kat hope your wrist is not hurting so much now. Ow!

Yeah LTH - I'm due later this week. We are all synchronised nuns. PMSL at Wilkie giving Eah chocolate and tampon!! Can't believe how angry I get a couple of days before. Pre Pip I never suffered PMT. Why now? Grr...

Had a really lovely weekend. Had a great time when Vino and E came round. So funny to see the lo's playing but not together.
Vino - absolutely rofl at DH's comment after you left. Summat like 'God it's such hard work with two of them'. Correct me if I'm wrong, but I don't actually recall DH shifting his bum up off the sofa from behind his paper with the footie results blaring in the background, whilst the two of us (including Vino with a lovely bump) playing with and chasing round after the two of them

Very wet here. No snow though

Reggiee · 21/01/2008 19:29

Pippa has 10 teeth now. Yup, two bottom molars have broken through.

eandh · 21/01/2008 20:05

Happy Birthday Felix (he is on the list just the 2nd list as I cut and pasted the wrong list 1st time ) hope hand feels better soon

PMSL about the period synchronisation, I was in such a bad mood yesterday (you'd never have guessed) I kicked the washing machine in frustration and guess what.... its started working again not completley as it should be (it will only spin if I set the thingy to 1100 but hey ho its working for the mo)

2Happy your DS1, Laughalots DS and Ellie sound so similar, although according to my Mum they have been little angels today playing nicely and hardly any answering back and she has done everything she has been told (its always when they are with other people isnt it )

Rgee - at dh so are you thinking of holding off creating a sibling for Pippa (Vin it isn't that bad having 2 honestly ) wow at 10 teeth Hattie has 7 proper teeth (4 top and 3 bottom) but can feel about another 4

PCF - what time did dp get home, hope he made it in time for dinner

Had one of top bosses in our branch today so had to be on tea duty (had to serve it in teapot and have biscuits on a plate on the tray ) then had to produce different reports at a speed of knots! Although he did say to me at 4.40 that I had worked hard and did I want to go home (normally 5pm finish) I have also won a place at top performers award ceremony so going to London overnight at end if Feb (top prize is mini convertable, then 2nd place is £10k, 3rd place is all inclusive holiday for 2 or family holiday) doubt I'll win but nice to hae a night away at posh hotel and someone else in our Area has won a place so will know someone there as well

Shimmer · 21/01/2008 21:46

10 teeth Pippa? Wow. Go you. Freddie still only has 4... but it least it means i don't feel so guilty when i forget/can't be bothered to brush them twice a day

PCF hope your DP wasn't too late home

RGee PMSL at your DH's comment about the 2 LOs being hard work. Sounds JUST like something m DP would say!!!!

Vino I have bump envy

I had a really stressful morning at F's nursery this morning It was the third time he's been and officially his last settling-in session before first proper session and he was the worse he's ever been. I know settling LOs in nursery can be hard, but F seems to be getting worse not better! I think its because he knows i'm going to leave now. I was meant to drop him for 2-3 hours this morning but ended up not leaving at all because he clung to my leg screaming for the first 20 minutes and then burst into tears anytime i went near the door. (Also i got caught up with this other little boy, probably about 18 months, who was crying and crying and just SO miserable it broke my heart and i had to go over and give him a cuddle. Then we were playing with the lego and then HE wouldn't let me go either!) For those using nurserys... did it take a while for your LOs to be happy for you to leave them? Freddie's usually really good with people and very sociable, but really doen't seem to be settling well at he moment. Or am i worrying too much as this is only his third session? Any advice/tips GREATLY appreciated.

WE're going again for another try on Wednesday and I've told DP that he has to drop him as i'm too scared that i'll chicken out and not be able to leave him again

MrsCarrot · 21/01/2008 22:57

Thanks for good wishes, and happy birthday to Dylan and Saul yesterday!

We had a lovely day, am tired now though. We had a pizza party with champagne and balloons and cake and F loved it.

laughalot · 22/01/2008 10:20

Oh mrs carrot champagne you are such a classy lady.

Shimmer we had the same problem with aidan at that age but we were leaving him with his granny he would scream and scream and it broke my heart. I tolp dh I was going to quit work because it upset me so much but they soon adapt to it and then you will be crying because he dosent want you he wants his friends . Be strong xx

Lizzzombie · 22/01/2008 11:51

Hi everyone!
Hope S had a good birthday BunnyHunny.

2happy - Have you got everything sorted out ok for M's birthday?

My house is a total tip, I have cake coming out of my ears, and we have sooooooo many toys I don't know where to put any of them. Am having some kind of yearning for a much simpler life, where I just live by myself in a clean, white room...y'know...no clutter!

Lizzzombie · 22/01/2008 12:07

Ok, so am on facebook too at the moment, have not been online for a few days so am just catching up! But...have noticed one of you lot has deleted me from their friends...whats going on? Have I been nasty? I promise I didnt mean to!
Am off to eat worms until I hear an answer back from you! (you know who you are!)

theUrbanDryad · 22/01/2008 12:10

i've been deleted off facebook too -

MrsCarrot · 22/01/2008 12:38

Has someone decided to leave and all their friends get a message like that?

Wilkie · 22/01/2008 13:16

Me - I left Facebook the other night. Nothing personal have just deleted my account. I just thought:

I am on there, friends with people that I don't even particularly like (not you lot just other people from the past), people can't seem to fart without posting it on there as 'news' and I don't want random people having access to my private family photos. So I have deleted it. I sound like a right grump and I don't mean to

Happy birthday to all the LOs I have missed - I am crap at keeping up!!

My FIL has collapsed, he's OK but it's a bit worrying as he had a triple heart bypass last year so fingers crossed it is nothing to do with that. Bit of a bummer as it means I have no childcare for J on Thursday so he will have to go to CM again - that is £50 extra this week in child care costs!!

I am so bored at work today - there is NOTHING too do. My boss left me three things to do which were done before 9am (I start at 8.30am). They SERIOUSLY underestimate my capabilities which is quite insulting!

Wilkie · 22/01/2008 13:43

Oh - meant to say that J absolutely LOVES blueberries! Just another idea for healthy snacks.

MrsCarrot · 22/01/2008 13:53

F loves them too, he can polish off half a punnet while I make his porridge. He's not keen on rapsberries though and smears them all over the table.

ladytophamhatt · 22/01/2008 13:59

God, i;ve been itching to get home and tell someone about my bargain oxfam buy.

Have you heard of Skip hop changing bag?

I've quite fancied one but they are mega £££££££ and Now that G is older I kind of forgot about getting one but I went shopping this morning and went into Oxfam in Eastbourne and there was one on the shelf. BRAND new, still has the tissue paper wrapped around the change mat...honestly, absolutley brand spanking new.

How much was it?

£4.

I've been virtually floating on air since

theUrbanDryad · 22/01/2008 14:03

you'll have to have another baby now LTH, to make the most of it!

eandh · 22/01/2008 14:10

OMG that is fab! Def another baby to get full use of it or ebay it and make a fortune!

I got some hair straightners in boots sale reduced from £50 to £5 (I wanted to buy the 2 sets that were on display but they wouldnt let me )

2happy · 22/01/2008 14:35

Afternoon.
Glad you had a good day yesterday MrsC, champers, nom nom!
Lizz - depends ont he weather. If it's nice we'll go somewhere (I want to go to Edinburgh zoo with my dsis; but dh wants to go to the farm trail nearby with his parents - we'll see who wins!). if it's rubbish weather, I doubt we'll do much (bad bad second time parents!!).
LTH - nice bag! When's dc5 due??
Wilkie - hope your fil is ok. Lal - any news on your Dad??
bunnyhunny - I use emulsifying ointment as a barrier, and E45 afterwards (unless his skin is bad, when I don't use E45, just emulsifying ointment). It's a shame - he loves the water, but he can only have a (very cool) bath once a week, it takes all week for his skin to recover in time for the next one. We never use soap, he can't have bubble bath or anything. I hope he grows out of it, but I never have - oh yay another fabby thing I have passed onto my kids!
UD - did you find any nearby toddler groups?
Jodie - how was sat?

2happy · 22/01/2008 14:36

Oh, and Shimmer, sorry no advice. ds1 tantrums when it's time for me to pick him up, not when I try and leave him . Hope he's happier next time.
