I'm dressed up in honour of Frank Zappa, in case anyone was wondering

milkyJammy · 21/01/2008 11:56

Seems like the Kidd family is quite a big one - I am Black Ethel Kidd apparently

Just had our last visit to the group we go to on Monday morning Seems strange to think this our last full week at home together

LittleMissNorty · 21/01/2008 12:33

I got a different name: Captain Ethel Cash apparently

Strange feeling that last week off .....remember it well....you'll have Wednesdays, Thursdays, Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays with her and it will be all the more special time...I make so much more of my time with DD now I'm back at work....

andiemustlosehalfastonemore · 21/01/2008 12:37

milkyJammy · 21/01/2008 12:40

I know Norty. I'll still have 5 days a week with her I'm just feeling a little gloomy today. The group we went to this morning was a bit glum and it's rubbed off on me.

LittleMissNorty · 21/01/2008 12:43

You'll be doing "This time next week" all week Jammy.......

No teeth here...

milkyJammy · 21/01/2008 12:48

Hopefully it'll just be today and tomorrow Norty (and Mon & Tues next week, when she goes to nursery but I'm at home) - after all Weds-Fri won't change much.

milkyJammy · 21/01/2008 12:49

No teeth here either btw. We had one showing lower right, and it seemed to give loads of trouble, but it's gone back into hiding.

BumperliciousIsOneHotMother · 21/01/2008 12:59

I am Captain Mary Rackem!

Fury and MHC sorry you are both ill, sending virtual chicken soup (to MHC anyway, sending some peptobismol to Fury!)

Hi sputnik, norty etc.

Jammy for you going back to work, but you will be fine! So will C. You'll appreciate the personal space! What are you doing about feeding? Is DD going to a nursery?

SputnikEnRegalia · 21/01/2008 13:01

Hey Jammy, you were right, I have crocuses!

It'll be hard at first to leave her but 2 days a week sounds good to me, enough to give you back some of your old identity but not enough to make you really feel you/she are missing out.

Don't worry Jammy, it's REALLY hard to go back to work but when you do it's good actually. But tiring!

BadZelda · 21/01/2008 15:41

urge that pepto bismol is disgusting! Have come down with some horrid lurgy too today... Best be gone soon as I can't afford to be I'll at the moment

Pumpkinhead · 21/01/2008 16:06

Your little break sounded fab Fairy. Drinking till 3am...brings back memories!

MHD and Fury - sorry to hear about all the sickness. Hope you are feeling a little bit better.

Hi Sputnik! My LO also has 2 teeth, but boy did we know about it when they were coming through. Not looking forward to the next ones.

Jammy - as the others have said, I'm sure once you are back at work you will really appreciate the days you spend with your LO and be an even better mummy for it .

Andie - wow 7 till 7. Thats what I dream about! Although I have to say that for the very first time last night, my LO slept from 11 - 6. Might not sound too impressive but for him its a bloody miracle!

Right, off to think about tea. By the way doea anyone do baby yoga with their LO's? If so, is it any good? Was thinking about it for mine - might chill him out a bit.

milkyJammy · 21/01/2008 16:09

Hope all those with illness are feeling better soon. And thanks for all the words of support and encouragement.

11-6 sounds good to me Pumpkin. We're currently on 7 - 6 with quick intervals for feeding at about 2 and 5. Would love to lose one (or both!) of those feeds. She's making attempts to crawl again, am hoping that either all these efforts, or at least when she does manage it she'll then waer herself out and might sleep better then?

Hi Jammy. That it so what I'm thinking! But at the moment I'm putting LO in the bouncer for long stretches of time and can't yet see the difference? Perhaps as you say crawling might make a difference.
Well done you on the sleep. But having to get up for feeds really does knacker you out doesn't it? I guess it means your body doesn't get time to get into a deep sleep. Ironically, it was me that couldn't sleep last night. Must have been the shock of not being woken up!

Pumpkinhead · 21/01/2008 16:25

La la la....I didn't hear that.

Mad Dog Vane. Nice. Why didn't I even get a girls name?

NattyThomasandEllen · 21/01/2008 17:39

jammy i went back to work with thomas when he was only 5months, and i would say that if it hadn't been full time and i hadnt been pregnant with ellen then i would have enjoyed it alot. its nice to feel more than just a "mummy" without feeling guilty u neva see ur baby. if i could afford the childcare i would definatly go back to work, you will really enjoy it once ur there, but i know how your feeling!

Fury and MHC sorry you are both ill, we have also been sick here in the o'dwyer family, one thing after another, ellen has been hit particauly hard (tho i think she is being a wimp ) michael is working all the time so no help there, the washing up didnt get done for 3 days when i was too sick to do it i dont know how u single mums do it, respect is all i can say

we had some really good news, michael is going part time! they offered him the position and he took it. this means he will be home one evening a week and weekends now, which is twice the amount he is home at the moment. so as you can probally tell i am extatic!!

fairy i am very jealous of ur break, but pleased you had a good time!

how is everyone else?

NattyThomasandEllen · 21/01/2008 17:43

no teeth here either, forgot to mention. she is 8months on thursday i cant believe how big she is, but thomas didnt get any till 10 months so im not worried
