milkyJammy · 17/01/2008 11:23

Oh and prob a bit of tom puree too

foxythesnowman · 17/01/2008 11:28

That's what I'm thinking too Jammy, thanks

Hi MHC! Cuntybollix made me laugh outloud

You are all a right brainy-bunch!

thisisRialifebaby · 17/01/2008 11:28

I made a SW "sausage pie" the other day with sausages, onion, garlic, can of mixed beans, can chopped tomatoes & 7oz diced veg/peas/sweetcorn. with mash on top. with a bit of stock and some mushrooms is would have been similar to casserole mix. hth.

BTW, baggins still woke up to feed about 4 times despite stuffing him with food.

I have sort-of made a decision. If there is a PT job in the paper today that I could do, I am going to apply. I know I won't earn nearly enough, but it'll help, give DH longer to recover, and I won't have to watch him doing nothing all day and if I'm not here he might do some stuff. Eating quiche is not helping.

Also, M&S should be shot for advertising food when I'm on a diet

sputnik · 17/01/2008 11:29

Same here Foxy, I have a degree in art history fgs.
Straight after doing that I emigrated, dossed around, became a beekeeper for a few years and then discovered web design. I am a bit bored with that now though, would like to try something else (when kids allow....)

sputnik · 17/01/2008 11:33

I am going to encourage my kids to become plumbers
You're right though MHC

foxythesnowman · 17/01/2008 11:33

Beekeeping is such a cool job!

Was that the Pain Au Chocolate Bread and Butter pudding Ria

milkyJammy · 17/01/2008 11:34

Ria, another thing the HV told me is to watch them when they are feeding in the night, and if they are feeding "properly", she said she looks for the jaw moving right back to the ear, they are hungry and to let them feed. Otherwise, if they are just sucking with the front of the mouth, they are doing it more for comfort and to put them back to bed (easier said than done, I know!). I've been doing this for about 3 weeks now and have only had to put her back to bed without a proper feed twice.

sputnik · 17/01/2008 11:35

Well I was bloody hot most of the time under that mask

FattyFairyFay · 17/01/2008 11:36

Hope you get some answers soon Trace ,hugs.

And hope you feel better soon MHC.

It sounds like we're all a bit dis-illusioned really! I have a business degree, a law degree and a post grad certificate in legal practice and qualified as a solicitor but I still don't really know what I want to do (which is ridiculous, I know).

thisisRialifebaby · 17/01/2008 11:37

ah, thanks jammy. my HV said not to feed him every time but I have no idea how that works cos he doesn't have a dummy so will surely just yell?
I need to motivate myself to deal properly with his sleeping issues, but I'm so damned tired it's easier to let him feed and snooze while he does it, and DH is very weak when it comes to not cuddling babies

thisisRialifebaby · 17/01/2008 11:39

that was it foxy. they can keep the fish thing though...

FattyFairyFay · 17/01/2008 11:40

I have just booked us a week's holiday here in February. The weather will no doubt be rubbish but I've never been to Cornwall and I'm sure we'll find things to do. We were supposed to be waiting until May for our holiday this year but I am SO desperate to get away that I talked DH into it

foxythesnowman · 17/01/2008 11:45

That looks nice Fairy! I was looking at Haven holidays today - very cheap. Am not sure, don't know anyone who has tried them, but this year is going to be a low-key, cheap holiday year. DP is away all summer too.

I was just thinking how much I love my life. The fact that my parents chose to spend money on my education and held it against me for the whole time I was there makes my becoming a housewife all the sweeter.

Hmmm, touching on a few ishoos there. Moving swiftly along ....

FattyFairyFay · 17/01/2008 11:47

I always think Haven looks good. I think Hoseasons are fairly good value too. That said, I haven't tried either and don't know anyone who has .

sputnik · 17/01/2008 11:53

Ria, feeding and snoozing is what I do too.

HellHathNoFury · 17/01/2008 11:56

Foxy I usually brown onions, sausages and pumpkin cubes and leeks in a big pot, then add chicken stock, 1 or 2 tins of tinned tomatoes and leave to simmer until it thickens up, then i finish with a dash of cream (but I am a fatso that likes cream).

OP posts:
HellHathNoFury · 17/01/2008 11:57

oh and carrots as well.

OP posts:
foxythesnowman · 17/01/2008 12:11

I have a butternut squash which I haven't done anything with. Brown the sausages, bung in a casserole dish, fry onions, spoon of grainy mustard, a bit of flour, carrots and squash, dash of wine, tin of toms, bubble up add stock, chuck on top of sausages and cook for a couple of hours?

ARSE! I have lost DS2's invite list for his party on Sat. Have invited 30 kids from 3 different classes to his footy party. And I can't remember who I've invited, who's said yes, or what the blardy-hell is going on!

LittleMissNorty · 17/01/2008 12:19

Mmmm I'm doing sausage casserole tonight as well but using honey and mustard sausage tonight

Much as I love my job....what can be more important than your DH and DCs?

Fairy - Cornwall is FAB! I love the West country...but the drive down is shit!

I cannot decide where to go for my 40th...may look on Eurostar website over a sandwich

LittleMissNorty · 17/01/2008 12:20

mmm 30 kids at a football party...sounds like fun

HellHathNoFury · 17/01/2008 12:21

Foxy that sounds great!
The only thing I would do different is add leeks but then I love leeks! And I meant butternut squash when I said pumpkin, I forget they are not called pumpkins here.

OP posts:
milkyJammy · 17/01/2008 12:23

Ha! I don't have to cook tonight as we have left over chilli from yesterday

HellHathNoFury · 17/01/2008 12:28

I am cooking chicken parmigiana with spaghetti and brocolli on the side. Minus the cheese as we are both on diets.

HellHathNoFury · 17/01/2008 12:47

Just got an email from MIL - she is very ill and doesn't have long left unless she has gastric bypass surgery.
She has MS and diabetes and is very overweight.
DH now wants to go to Aus with DS so she can meet DS but we can't afford for all of us to go so I will have to stay here, I will hate being away from my boys for 2 weeks
And poor MIL but really she drinks double cream like it's milk and has 2l of coke a day, I feel bad for her, but you have kind of got to help yourself you know? Don't mean to be harsh but
