Poor DS fury! Glad he is better now. He is in the wars a bit at the moment

LOL at you show jumping instead of going to school!

Jammy, just asked as one of my mummy friends works at the power station near you and has just gone back to work.

My TV has died

HellHathNoFury · 17/01/2008 09:50

Hi Bumper!
Shame about your TV!
Yes poor DS I feel for him so much, he just got over one thing and the next comes along!!
All I want is for him to be happy and healthy but I guess being exposed to childminders and nurseries etc he is going to pick up everything going.

Don't worry Bumper, you are not missing much.

Ah, you experienced the education of Life Fury.

And you turned out alright. Hunni hunni.

LittleMissNorty · 17/01/2008 10:16

Morning ladies

Blimey Fury what a night. Glad DS seems ok....perhaps something he ate disagreed with him? Did he try something new yesterday?
LOL at schools - I was a bit of a trouble maker - well gob-shite actually ....but I managed to stay at school

Well Jammy - have you got the PHD or the MSc? I thought I'd do a PHD a few years ago till I found out it would take me in the order of 7 years to do part-time....god I spent 11 years getting my qualifications, couldn't face doing another 7!

Just been to the dentist, I'm such a baby

trace2 · 17/01/2008 10:20

CHLOES HOME [GRIN]

sputnik · 17/01/2008 10:21

Sorry to hear about you bad days Elsbells and Bumper (and your bad night Fury), I am SO paranoid about locking myself out!

Feeling good this morning as I had quite a decent amount of sleep (as opposed to the night before. I took note of the discussion yesterday and gave Baby Sputnik a big bowl of stodge hearty soup for tea and it definitely made a difference!

Why is it though when you get a decent night's sleep you just end up wanting more?

HellHathNoFury · 17/01/2008 10:23

lol Foxy yeah I did, I have done it all! Marriage, divorce, emigrated, lived in a caravan for 2 years, lived out of a bag for 2 years, I have had a blast!
I have workd as a groom, cinema usher, waitress, shelf stacker, accountant, tech support, when I was 18 I had more P45's than payslips!
And now I sit on my arse all day and type up boring documents under the guise of 'Test Consultant'. Although at my new job I am 'Quality Assurance'. Whatever.

How was the dentist LMN?

sputnik · 17/01/2008 10:23

Hi Trace, how did it go?

HellHathNoFury · 17/01/2008 10:24

Yay for Chloe! What's the news?

OP posts:
LittleMissNorty · 17/01/2008 10:28

Blimey.....what an experience of life.....I've done the same job for 20 odd years (in different hospitals though) and generally plodded along. I'm quite

Dentist was OK - only a check-up - I'm just such a baby ...still got gum problems since being pg but no treatment needed other than trip to hygenist ...shame I had a panic attack in the waiting room ....no chance of any x-rays with me, I'm heaving before I get in there!! God how am I going to avoid passing this fear onto DD - her father hasn't been to the dentist in 20 odd years so I can't pass it over to him!

Glad Chole is home Trace - did you get any answers?

trace2 · 17/01/2008 10:28

shes didnt have a fit while we was there but done an other lumber punture a special one sent to london on dry ice, so hoping we fing out some thing, but they worried about her weight she now as to see a deitation she only weights 12lb 14 oz

thisisRialifebaby · 17/01/2008 10:29

Hi trace - is all well?

wish I'd done show jumping instead of school. I have one lousy Alevel that I did one night a week for a year while I was working as a typesetter. Was downhill all the way from there.

Sorry S is ill again fury. Hope he's feeling more like himself today.

Did you have "stuff done" at the dentist LMN?

Hi everyone else.

HellHathNoFury · 17/01/2008 10:38

wasn't all fun, it was hard for a long time to get a job as I only had 3 GCSE's and the only work I could get was rubbish stuff.
I lied to get a receptionist job once, even though I did really well there I got fired as they checked up on my school results, whoops.
In the end I worked night shifts for a year in a 7/11 but when one of the guys I worked with was stabbed on New Years Eve (over a stolen Snickers bar FFS) I quit, £3 an hour was not enough to risk losing my life over.

After that I got a job designing webpages - which was all good until my first day I found out they were porn sites LOL!!! I was only there 3 months.

LMN you are not alone, DH used to have to be sedated to see the dentist. the fact that you go is good.

Trace what does the lumbar puncture do?

OP posts:
foxythesnowman · 17/01/2008 10:39

Glad she's home Trace. Hope there's some answers soon.

BumperliciousIsOneHotMother · 17/01/2008 10:39

Hope you get some positive results back about chloe Trace.

I went straight from school to college to university, got a 1st Degree and distinction for my MSc and I am still in a financial hole! I've barely travelled and can't see me ever affording to, plus I am destined to be a life long renter as I will never be able to afford to buy where I live. But I can't leave my job as despite having 2 degrees, 5 A levels and various GCSEs I'm qualified for nothing! Swings and roundabouts hey?

milkyJammy · 17/01/2008 10:42

Wow, loads of you have appeared since I went to wash up the recycling things and clean the kitchen worktops!

Glad Chloe's home Trace, hope they sort things out for her and you very soon.

What are you going to do about the TV, Bumper? We have a diddy portable you could borrow.

Glad you had a good night Sputnik. I got woken by C at 1 and 5, then she ended up in bed with us at 5.30, but at least that way we got to sleep until gone 7.

trace2 · 17/01/2008 10:44

the first lumber punture was for menigits, blood disorders and this one is special and looking for unusal disorders the rare ones zam so scared what they may find or even not find

milkyJammy · 17/01/2008 10:48

{{{hugs}}} for Trace

foxythesnowman · 17/01/2008 10:49

O Trace! What a worrying time for you.

LittleMissNorty · 17/01/2008 10:56

oh Trace {{{hugs}}} hope you don't have to wait too long for the results.

Bumper - what are your degrees in? How can you be qualified for nothing? I've got a variety of different qualifications including a Msc but can only do my job so if anything happened to my post, god only knows what I would do...locum probably half way across the country. Unfortunately, I am the breadwinner - even part-time - so I would have no choice.

Fury, when I was 14, I wanted to be a dentist....urgh!!! Then I realised I was crap at physics

LittleMissNorty · 17/01/2008 11:17

Ooopps! Killed the thread! Right housework beckons

foxythesnowman · 17/01/2008 11:18

For all my education and having a career, I still ended up a 'Housewife'.

Anyone know how to make a Sausage Casserole without using a packet mix?

If it was me Foxy, I'd brown some onions, with maybe carrot or other veg, with herbs and then add sausages and liguid - maybe water or stock, maybe tinned toms. Would prob add a bit of stock powder if using toms, and either way use a bit of worcestershire sauce or similar to perk up the flavour. No idea if that's "right", but it's what I'd do.
