C had her fromage frais, yes, so fingers crossed. She'd had her main tea a little earlier than usual to fit in with the trip to the vets, but I hope that she'll sleep well still, as I'm exhausted.

Feeling a bit better on the ADs thanks. Not sure if there's a bit of placebo effect going on as wouldn't expect them to work quite so soon, or maybe just the fact that I know I've taken a positive step is making me feel a bit better. I've also done lots of walking, which i know makes me feel better. Just hoping I don't get the same thing as I did last time I started them, when a few weeks in the things that were getting to me and upsetting me were still getting to me, I just couldn't be arsed to react. It felt rather frustrating I remember, but thankfully eased off so that I didn't get upset.

milkyJammy · 16/01/2008 21:06

But I am off. Even after a good night's sleep last night I'm worn out, it's been a busy day.

FattyFairyFay · 16/01/2008 21:07

I'm glad you are feeling a bit better, and I hope it continues for you

FattyFairyFay · 16/01/2008 21:08

Hi Ria, sorry to hear baggins is still awake - doesn't he undertand that this is mummy's time?

thisisRialifebaby · 16/01/2008 21:16

He thinks this is his time to have mummy and daddy to himself! Bless him.

Glad to hear your ADs are starting to help jammy. I have another first appointment with the MH worker next month. I have started my ADs again, but I forget to take them and that doesn't help. I will get into trouble from my GP as I was meant to be going back ages ago and I have about 21/2 weeks supply left (I will maybe see the other GP in the practice next time).

DH didn't get good news yesterday at the hospital. Something is not right with his shoulder and he has to have an x-ray under anaesthetic to find the problem. Don't know what it means long-term, but he can't go back to cooking yet (good thing about that job). Arse.

FattyFairyFay · 16/01/2008 21:20

Sorry to hear about DH, Ria. that's really crap. He/You must be really fed up

LittleMissNorty · 16/01/2008 21:23

Oh Ria - what a PITA.....doesn't sound very nice having to have an x-ray under anaesthetic....sore!

BumperliciousIsOneHotMother · 16/01/2008 21:36

just popping back in before bed. Jammy, you don't work in a power station do you?

BumperliciousIsOneHotMother · 16/01/2008 21:37

Before anyone wonders why i ask i know some who works in a powerstation in your county.

thisisRialifebaby · 16/01/2008 22:33

powerstation? my chemistry teacher used to work at Sellafield. We also thought she was a witch because she could draw a perfect circle.

Thanks guys. I suppose DH is a bit down as well as still being in massive amounts of pain (honestly I do care, and I know how hard he finds not working when he's fit so not being able to will be like having a limb removed, but today has been difficult for me and I haven't been as nice as I should have been, though I haven't been mean, just ignored it.). Hopefully it will be something simple, apparently there are 4 options, only 1 is particularly bad! Thank goodness it's BUPA via NHS waiting-list referral, if we were paying for it he would have to suffer.

thisisRialifebaby · 16/01/2008 22:36

so it's DH to blame for the state of the finances of the local NHS trust. Sorry.

Tomorrow will be a better day all round. Though might have to have chocolate tomorrow afternoon - we have to take DS2 to hospital to see the ENT consultant about his nose. Yipee. Hope he doesn't kick him (as is normal for my boys)...

Night all. Rx

milkyJammy · 17/01/2008 07:39

Morning.

Sorry to hear about DH, Ria. Hope his shoulder gets sorted soon, and without too much pain in the meantime. And your last post confused me for a moment - I thought you hoped the ENT consultant wouldn't kick your DS!

No, Bumper I don't work in a power station (though I have visited them for work purposes). I work here

HellHathNoFury · 17/01/2008 09:12

morning all

DS was very ill last night resulting in phone calls to emergency doctors and NHS Direct etc.
DS started vomiting BIG STYLE, everything that was in him came out, screaming and sobbing and couldn't get him comfy - eventually at about 10 he fell asleep exhausted and we were on strict instructions from the GP with what to do - but anyway this morning he is screaming for food and is right as rain?!

Jammy what qualifications did you need to get a job like that??

OP posts:
foxythesnowman · 17/01/2008 09:24

Oh Fury What did the GP tell you to do?

milkyJammy · 17/01/2008 09:30

Fury. Hope it was a "blip" - doesn't sound like fun at all! Hope he's fully recovered now.

Qualifications? At the level I'm at, a science degree, plus a higher qualification (Masters/PhD) and/or relevant experience.

milkyJammy · 17/01/2008 09:30

and morning Foxy

HellHathNoFury · 17/01/2008 09:34

Jammy you're a smarty pants!
All the women on here with masters etc, I feel like a thicko lol I got kicked out of school AND college after 2 months

Foxy the GP said to keep him quiet and comfy and as often as possible give him rehydration liquid - 1 litre cooled boiled water mixed with 8 teaspoons sugar and 1/2 teaspoon salt and whatever cordial to make it taste nice.
Apparently with the amount he was vomiting he was at high risk of dehydration. I was a bit worried for a while, but he woke at 2am screaming, so we offered him the fluid, he screamed even more, we were at a loss what to do as the GP said no milk unless it's breast milk, but I said to DH he is obviously hungry, if he was sick he wouldn't want food, so let's try some milk, anyway he took almost a whole bottle and was fine!

OP posts:
foxythesnowman · 17/01/2008 09:36

Why? What did you do?

milkyJammy · 17/01/2008 09:41

Sorry, but I'm intrigued now as well

HellHathNoFury · 17/01/2008 09:42

I got kicked out of a private school at 12 as I didn't 'fit in', they prided themselves on their etiquette and conduct and whilst my grades were ok I was a bit (ok a lot) of a troublemaker. I was politely asked to find an alternative educational institution.

My next school I was kicked out because I never went. There was no point in telling my parents to sort me out because my mum was in on it. I was busy showjumping. In fact I had my maths GCSE at 3pm and I was famed for going to a qualifier jumping class at 11am on the same day, as I thought if I was quick I could still make my exam.

I was kicked out of college because it was an arts college, and I decided I preferred the technology one across the road, so I spent all my time there - meaning I got kicked out of one but wasn't actually enrolled in the other. Also I never went, was busy showjumping.

OP posts:
HellHathNoFury · 17/01/2008 09:45

Also my Dads business was in trouble and some days I would bunk off to do his books for him.

OP posts:
milkyJammy · 17/01/2008 09:45

Sounds like you had an interesting time Fury Did you make your exam in the afternoon after the showjumping?

Anyway, housework calls I'm afraid...
