that does sound like a nightmare bumper. how long were you out?

BumperliciousIsOneHotMother · 16/01/2008 19:42

Fricking 9.30 til 7pm I was out! Sat in town in cafes for the morning then went to a friend's in the afternoon, lots of walking with just the bloody sling!

BumperliciousIsOneHotMother · 16/01/2008 19:43

My own stupid fault of course! Baby brain and tiredness!

FattyFairyFay · 16/01/2008 19:43

OMG< that's really horrid.

FattyFairyFay · 16/01/2008 19:43

but it;s so easy to do

andiemustlosehalfastonemore · 16/01/2008 19:44

bumper that is my worst fear poor you

BumperliciousIsOneHotMother · 16/01/2008 19:50

No, the worst fear is doing it with the baby left inside (or is it...? )!

Just annoyed really at having to spend money in town on tea and lunch (and an extra breakfast ) when I am trying to be good. But I was very good and didn't buy anything else that I didn't need. Went round all the charity shops for a cheap stroller but none of them are allowed to sell them anymore! I thought since we'd probably get one anyway for going away etc. I'd get one now but cheapest in mothercare was £35 with no hood or rain cover and looked rank, so just stuck to the sling.

andiemustlosehalfastonemore · 16/01/2008 19:51

have you thought of looking on freecycle or gumtree for a stroller

FattyFairyFay · 16/01/2008 19:54

That's bizarre Bumper, because they still sell them in the charity shop near us In fact there was one in the window today - although I did notice it had a sign saying 'sold as seen'. Maybe that's there to cover them?

BumperliciousIsOneHotMother · 16/01/2008 19:58

I think some of them aren't allowed to "sell" them. nct will only take them with manuals.

i'll try nct or friday add or something but would have been handy to get one today!

LittleMissNorty · 16/01/2008 20:03

blimey Bumper...what a nightmare....couldn't you get keys from DH?

think I would have broken in!

God what a day! The motorway by me is closed atm to park all the lorries up who are waiting to cross the channel....took me bloody AGES to get home...luckily DH finished early and done nursery pick-up but I honestly thought she was going to be in bed by the time I got home

FattyFairyFay · 16/01/2008 20:04

Gosh, it sounds like crap days all round

milkyJammy · 16/01/2008 20:06

Bumper! Poor you, and poor DD (though I bet you suffered more than she did!). Did you have enough baby "equipment" with you, or did you have to go buy extra nappies, wipes, etc as well?

Some of the charity shops near us have strollers outside, not sure what the policy is exactly. Similarly some will take electrical equipment, some won't.

LittleMissNorty · 16/01/2008 20:06

I really surprised myself by how much I wanted to get home before she went to bed.....I did thankfully but not for long....she's gone up with bright red cheeks and another snotty nose ...

milkyJammy · 16/01/2008 20:08

Norty - and poor you as well. I'd be really if I missed seeing C at night. Glad you made it home in time

Elsbells · 16/01/2008 20:08

Evening ladies.

Bumper sorry to hear about your day. Must be in "the cards" for crap days. Not trying to top that or anything but I had a HUGE scare today that I am still not over.

My DD was almost hit by a fucking twat. A silver car decided to run a red light at easily over 45mph and was literally about 3 feet away from the pram as it sped across.

Thankfully I waited a few sec before attempting to cross (even though it was green for me) and when I did start I was able to pull back on time. I stupidly thought the car was slowing down to the red light.

Sorry for swearing but the person deserved it.

LittleMissNorty · 16/01/2008 20:10

Luckily its my day off tomorrow, so we'll have lots of cuddles to make up

When do you go back Jammy? Is it next month?

milkyJammy · 16/01/2008 20:10

Elsbells, that's awful. Must have shaken you up. Glad no serious harm done though.

milkyJammy · 16/01/2008 20:11

Feb 4th. Thankfully just Mondays and Tuesdays

LittleMissNorty · 16/01/2008 20:11

Bloody hell ...puts my day into perspective.....

BumperliciousIsOneHotMother · 16/01/2008 20:11

Ah norty, operation "stack" What a PITA

We had plenty of stuff fortunately. Difficult to break into a 1st floor flat

Anyway, now I've had enough sympathy I'm signing off as dh want 'puter!

See ya later

LittleMissNorty · 16/01/2008 20:12

That's nice Jammy - I do 3 days and love it - best of both worlds

BumperliciousIsOneHotMother · 16/01/2008 20:13
