Are your children’s vaccines up to date?

Just got back from a lovely theatre show with noo, it was a puppet show based on a childrens book called Fly Away Katie. They brought the puppets out afterwards to show the children, although noo got a little overwhelmed at the thug like riot of kids trying to grab them. Horrid bus journey home (couldn't take the car and the tubes weren't running) so we got off a few stops early and noo walked all the way home! We had to go via the park so she could play, even though it was raining and she ended up soaking wet. Everyone in bed now apart from me who has tonnes of laundry to do .

Diege, had a slight chuckle at the adventures of nibbles, only because it brought back soo many memeories of my childhood hamster days. My parents never tried to save us from the grim reality of death, and even cremated some of them in a fire in a rubbish bin at the bottom of the garden . We also had birds and some of those got mashed by a cat we looked after briefly. Also, we had one hamster that got down under the floorboards in the bathroom of my nans house. We could hear it surriying around above us when we were in teh kitchen, and my dad had to pull up the floor in my nans bedroom whilst we tried to tempt it out with food. We also had one that got out of it's cage and started nibbling the christmas presents.

Noo is now out of her toddler bed and in a proper 'big girl' bed. She looks so small in it.

BB agree that it might be worth sending DH in to T at night. He'll soon get fed up if he knows he's not going to get you. It's the other way around here, DH pays noo far too much attention if she wakes, I'm very much a 'get back to bed' person, no cuddles here!

Twinkle hope you get some sleep soon. I have your items all parcelled up I just need to get my arse round to the postie on monday.

Diege · 19/01/2008 19:55

Evening , and hope everyone is having a good weekend, despite the HORRENDOUS weather! I for one haven't stepped outside the door today! LOL Londoner at 'public display of crapness' I have vision of wavy hedge with stuck-on bits! Maybe you could 'topiarise' it into an animal? .
Good to hear your news NOVA, and at garden cremations!! Ditto here with the laundry piles - have attacked three baskets of ironing this afternoon while dh took dds to MIL, so now just have the putting away milarky..I swear I would do 10 baskets for ironing for someone just to put one basket away for me!
L now in big girl bed (her own, not dd2!) after a successful nap try-out this afternoon. She was propped up against a pillow 'reading' a board book (upside down) as I shut the door! Fingers crossed she can manage the whole night, or it's back in the cot for sure. I have limited patience this time around with waking babies...same it seems for potty training which I MUST get around to!

twinkle1 · 20/01/2008 13:57

twinkle

ChaCha · 20/01/2008 20:04

Hi girls, will catchup tomorrow just wanted to say to:

Twinkle - Sorry to hear about your hospital stay but so glad you are back at home and that DH is around. Do not feel guilty, you are carrying twins FGS and you must be shattered - i know how difficult it is when you have a family who depend on you but you MUST rest when you are given the opportunity to do so! [now you have been told!] When lovely twins arrive you will quite literally have your hands full i'm sure - take the rest now! Sending you hugs and pineapple chunks

I gotta go to bed..sooo tierd. Tlk tomorrow x

Diege · 21/01/2008 12:24

Morning girls Good to hear from you CHACHA - hope that you got your rest! Everytime I hear announcements now for the Birmingham train I now think of you .
Yes TWINKLE, orders are orders, you MUST rest, goodness knows there won't be much resting going on for, ooh, the next 18 years or so . We must look after our pregnany ladies!
Feeling bleughh this morning with bad af cramps, but scarily Spring is now seeming quite near! Have told my 'waiting to TTC' group that I'm starting April, but, ahem, might chicken out and go for May/June instead!!! Must let dh know...
Right, I MUST get some work done!! Just opened office window and there are papers everywhere! Would LOVE some sun!

GreedyGecko · 21/01/2008 13:23

Twinkle so sorry to heAR OF your hospital stay. I hope dh is takinggood care of you. Who cares if the house is a mess etc, just as long as you are looking after yourself xxx

I have had offer on house, have told agent to push them up, but will accept if they don't.

GreedyGecko · 21/01/2008 17:36

Have accepted a slightly higher offer on my house. Not as high as i hoped, but looking at prices, I think if i don't take it, i'll hae to lower the price anyway.

Londoner · 21/01/2008 19:03

Hi ,

Congrats GG - onwards and upwards - so brilliant you are focussing on you and the boys, am so impressed by your motivation as reckon it would be so 'easy' to implode in such a situation, sending loads of positive thoughts your way.
Twinkle, oh poor you, agree with the others in trying not to feel guilty for resting. Would it work to imagine what advice you would give to another in your situation?
ChaCha, how are you doing? You must be cream-crackered, hope you are managing to snatch some rest here and there. It's so lovely to hear about you and your boys.
Diege, lol at topiary, yes it's a slug. How did L get on with the sleeping last night? Am v.impressed you can leave her with a book and close the door, Baby would be out the bed hammering on the door before I'd reached the stairs, you're doing something right there.
Btks, you okay?
Rodeo, Nova, L&S, BB hi!
Rodeo, think am having one of those pillow moments, there's too much going ooooon!!!

BTKsmum · 21/01/2008 19:27

Hi girls

Sorry for the absence but I've been seduced by another - scrabble!!! am loving it and have been spending the very limited free time I have on there.

Rodeo, sorry I haven't posted before but read your thread and was thinking of you at the time, you handle such a traumatic day with such calmness and tranquility, you should be very proud of yourself. Sending you love and strength.

Twinkle sorry to hear about your hospital stay, don't feel guilty about resting, I'm sure your dh understand and I guarantee the mess will still be there in 6 months so you might as well rest now and have a real job to ignore once the babies are born

Was reassured to hear that we are not the only ones having nightime problems. T has pushed both me and dh to our limits lately, not going to bed until between 10:30 and midnight, we're both shattered and very cranky, hence the lack of posting.

GG congrats on getting an offer on the house, hope it sails through for you now - I really take my hat off to you as you are coping brilliantly, don't think i'd be as strong under the same circumstances.

Talk of a meet up has died off, have I missed the date? When are you all decending on me?

Londoner lol at your hedge trimming and public display of crapness

We have had one triumph here, T has got rid of his dummies - hooray He lost his last one at the shops the other day and I spent an hour that night running around trying to find him some new ones before I went to the PTA meeting only to get back and him say yuck and not touch one since!!!

Hello to everyone, sorry if I haven't mentioned you or missed anything important.

Will be back in the fold soon - honest! Beks

Rodeo · 21/01/2008 20:22

Evening
Will this rain ever go away?!
Twinkle, Yes you rest up and look after our twins Hope the rest of your pregnancy is hospital stay free.
Beks, Scrabble?! On MN? I'm rubbish with anagrams and wordgames, I'm doing well if I can see a 4 letter word on Countdown! And even then it's usually rude!
Good news on the offer GG Agree with others you're doing great, you seem very level headed with all that's happened, good on you girl!
Diege - yes, how did Lib get on last night?! Well done with the nap Think Jess is the last one still in a cot? Is that right? Is E in a bed yet Londoner?
Nova, hope you got through your laundry! Show sounds nice. Have you got a riding lesson this week?!
Right - Meet-up 2008, I'm thinking sooner rather than later, before Twinkle gets too big but after sickness has passed (it will!) before Chacha moves to far from London. I can do any weekend apart from 5-6 April, can do any weekend in March though. Is March good? Travel down Sat, home Sunday?
Off to search for glow sticks for PTA on ebay, before Messiah starts, then City of Vice - an evening of TV murder for me
x x x

OP posts:
GreedyGecko · 21/01/2008 21:12

Meet up - can't do last weekend in March (frineds wedding renewal), but I'll need about 3-4wks notice for booking time off work.

Londoner · 21/01/2008 21:20

Hi,

Btks, good to see you, Scrabble eh, will have to give it a try soon. Well done on the dummy front, that's great.
Rodeo, nope, Baby still in cot and nappies for the duration, I'm in no hurry tbh dsons were both vaulting out of theirs at 14 months and 11 months respectively but dd1 had to be coaxed out of hers at 3 and a half! No expectations here, will wait til she's either being dangerous or grows out of it how about you? Nappies can wait until she asks or this summer whichever comes first.

Londoner · 21/01/2008 21:22

ChaCha, could not find you on Facebook btw, where aaaaaaaaaaaaaaare yooooooou, or would you rather not be found? Understand if not.

ChaCha · 21/01/2008 22:36

Londoner - Happy to be found I deactivated my account a few weeks ago so that i would not be tempted to spend hours on there. I got in touch with two very close school friends and so i felt it had served its purpose. I will however reactivate as i didn't take my cousin's email address and can only contact him through Facebook. I will just resist the temptation and see you on there then
LOL at 'having one of those pillow moments' - at least we can look at the funny side.
RE: Toilet Training - DS1 now sticks his finger (sorry gross i know) into nappy when he's done a pooh and comes and shows me - i am just so lazy to take him up to toilet all the time with DS2 always following behind. [real bad lazy mother icon]
Londoner, know what you mean aobut sense of humour, sometimes hard to hold onto like you said when PG and feeling like you're at lowest low but sometimes i just look at them and forget about it all and sit them up one on each side of me on the sofa and read a book or sing a song and watch their little faces and everything feels okay (must read this soppy line when i am heading for stairs next) or i just get their coats on and head off, no plan in mind, just time with them away from my own thoughts..am rambling now, soz.

Beks - I love scrabble, send me a link!!! I meant to ask you the other day. Congrats on dummy - i am still cajoling DS1 away from bottles!!!!! He won't have bedtime milk without it. Where do you think you'll all plan to meet for the meet up? Will it be someone's home or an outdoor venue? and is it to be kiddy free? I want to book MY day with DH asap.

Rodeo - LOL (i know i always say LOL, but i literally do) at your rude 4 letter countdown words...splutter splutter! ha ha.

GG - House sounding promising!!

Sorry for what am sure is epic post. Am heading to bed now with my glucose barley sweets...sexy beast that i am LOL. xxx

Diege - Awwww...am thought of in midst of busy train station!

BTKsmum · 22/01/2008 10:32

Hi ya

Rodeo have you got a poundland near you as they have boxes of glow sticks at the moment. If you haven't managed to get any let me know how many you need and I'll get them and send them up to you.

Chahca & Londoner I'm playing scrabble on www.isc.co.ru if you join let me know and we can play against each other, the good thing is you can set how long you want the game to go on for say 5 or 10 minutes at a time.

Re the meet up, can do the 3rd weekend in MArch or all of April, the northern girls are staying at mine plus GG if she wants, so she can bring the boys if she wants to. My dh will look after all the boys. London is only 20 mins away

Right got to go as going out, speak soon Beks

Diege · 22/01/2008 11:43

Hi Just a quickie from work to let you know my best dates for meet-up. March is pretty hectic with 2 weekends away with work, so best for me is 12/13th April, or 19/20th April

twinkle1 · 22/01/2008 11:49

morning all,
Diege both of those weekends in April are good for me although you might need a fork lift truck to move me by then
twinkle

Rodeo · 22/01/2008 12:31

Quick one here too, 19th/20th would be best for me, off to see a show weekend before. Right off to soft play, speak later x

OP posts:
ChaCha · 22/01/2008 14:22

That would be good for me too, think April/May be very busy here so a welcome break away.

Beks - am off to have a look at link while i got the chance x

ChaCha · 22/01/2008 14:50

Beks, I am wordamatic

ChaCha · 22/01/2008 15:33

Beks, is me again. So i just played my first game - am learning! Someone must have realised i was an amateur, they were typing in words like 'taarc' and 'boliv' and getting loads of points and i'm like 'that's not a word' so eventually discover for myself that i can challenge the word ha ha...but haven't discovered how to talk back (using words of course). Was winning you know with just 5 mins left and the person left!!!!!!!!! So now if wait 5 mins apparently the game will be abjudicated in my favour -
I hate addictions. Really must go and do something...like clean the keyboard lol x

novadandypowder · 22/01/2008 20:26

Twinkle, I posted the Phil & Teds stuff (finally!) today by first class post, so it should be with you tomorrow, but let me know if it still hasn't arrived by thursday .

Had an 'it seemed like a good idea at the time' moment today. Decided to bring the sand/water table in from the garden and put it on a large plastic mat on the kitchen floor, thinking 'they can't make that much mess'. Oh yes they can, but they had lots of fun doing it.

Second horse riding session tomorrow, looking forward to seeing 'my' horse again.

Hope everyone is well x

Rodeo · 22/01/2008 21:32
