ChaCha · 28/01/2008 09:21

Had 12 week scan at 8am this morning. All well, was really lovely to watch bouncy baby - 20 week scan not till end of March - seems ages away.

Twinkle - Hope you get link up soon, looking forward to seeing the twins.

Both boys here full of cold so staying home till they are better. They can hardly sleep finding it hard to breathe poor lambs.

x

BTKsmum · 28/01/2008 10:50

Chacha glad the scan went well, bet it was lovely to see, March isn't that far away you know, have already had to start planning b's b'day which is at the beginning of March - eek! My goodness woman you are amazing thinking of going to Malaysia with two little boys, I can't make it to Spain and back yet and I'm not pregnant with my 3rd

GG Course it's ok for you all to stay, thought we can take the boys with us whereever we end up going, and then if it's alright with everyone else we can head back to mine, drop the boys off, settle them down and then go on for dinner somewhere. My dh will be fine with them - ha ha!!

Did my 3rd party yesterday, which was a real success, really felt I'd made a good job of it and everyone was very complimentary - hooray!

Right got to go evil sprite with a cold is on his way up the stairs speak soon Beks

Diege · 28/01/2008 12:00

Well done on the party BEKS!! I would deffo book one with you if you were nearer! Plan for London stay sounds excellent! It will be very strange not having a child or 3 with me . Right, best get on. Sharing an office at the moment so have to be ON MY GUARD!

babyonboard · 28/01/2008 12:28

Hello everyone
Hope you are well
Chacha how exciting! Do you plan to find out the sex at 20 weeks?
London meeting lot - I hope we are welcome to meet you during the day. Beks is fairly close to me so I can get there easily (unlike last time, hee hee)

Thanks for contaception advice I am seeing my GP on thursday to discuss it.
Another quick question , do any of you use a buggy board. Are they useful?

feetheart · 28/01/2008 14:29

Count me in for the meet-up.

ChaCha - nice hearing about the scan. Holiday sounds good though I think I'd be asking myself how long the flight was to Malaysia.

BoB - we have a buggy board and it has been invaluable. Bought it when A was born as didn't want/need a double buggy. Great for getting around in a hurry and now for getting a VERY tired little girl home from school though more often she is in the pushchair as A is insisting on walking It makes you walk a bit funny in a bum-stuck-out sort of way and because I'm tall I have to wear flat shoes when pushing it or I look like a hunchback - NOT flattering!

T's bedroom is now done except new curtains (need to juggling curtain-making with t-shirt dyeing for the next week!) and she will be back in there to sleep tonight. When we checked them before going to bed last night they were both fast asleep in T's bed. Both DH and I had tears in our eyes, it was SO sweet

I had a lovely w/e as I finally got to use my birthday present from DH - a silver jewellery-making workshop. I spent all day Saturday doing something creative ON MY OWN and am now proudly wearing a new ring.

ChaCha · 28/01/2008 15:14

Hi BoB - was also wondering about buggy boards. If you post anywhere else send me the link. Where will DS1 go if he does get tired? And does that mean trips have to be near home? Something i've been thinking about for a while. Going out later in year should be lots of fun..

Feetheart - Awwww at your DC, heart melting! Lovely present from DH, is nice to receive something that you can actually 'use' iyswim and enjoy. Hadn't really thought about flight distance TBH (i told you i was getting carried away) but will have a look at stopover options and consider somewhere nearer too (Morocco and Tunisia still undiscovered althouth DH has been to both so not high on his to-visit countries), he is not too fussed on my idea of Cyprus either. We are just fortunate that as our original moving abroad plans have fallen through (thanks to DC3 and other factors) we have a little money in the pipeline from a piece of land that we will no longer need and i so need some sun and something other than house move etc to look fwd to. Sorry, bit of a ramble there. Can you tell we are home today and have spoken to no one?

Beks - Yay!!! Well done on 3rd party

DS1 is asleep finally - i notice a real change in his behaviour with medicine!!! and he doesn't get that much.

Apparently have 2 year check on Thursday for DS1 - what does this entail?

babyonboard · 28/01/2008 16:05

Gosh Chacha here I was stressing over our situation, lord knows how you will cope.
Recently we have used any combination of tandem double pram, 2 single maclarans, twin maclaran , hip sling, wilkinet sling, good old fashioned carrying, hand holding, piggybacks and reins ( Check these out we have the turtle and ladybird and adore them! all depending on the situation but we often run into situations where we have planned badly.

You could go for a buggy pod on your twin? I'm looking into those but need to buy a sturdier single really (same concern with buggyboards).

twinkle1 · 28/01/2008 16:08

Hi Cyber aunties. Sorry I messed the link to the photos please try this.

sumpo69.spaces.live.com/photos/cns!C5869434CED0B94D!127/

DW (twinkle) is in bed having a kip so I'm stuck with the kids, so much for working from home.

Danny

ChaCha · 28/01/2008 18:40

Twinkle - Perfect little babies, just lovely and how clear the scan pics are, wonderful to see, thanks for sharing again - makes us feel special

  • special cyber aunty!!!!

BoB - DS1 was given a turtle one as a gift before we went on long holiday last year and boy was it worth its weight in gold at airport when i was alone and trying to fold double pram, carry car seat, hand luggage, baby etc... was just fab!!! That ladybug is cute!

DH has called he'll be home early tonight (that being 7.30-8ish lol) so have made them all stew (bleugh) and have asked for junk food. DC are snotting all over me, pulling out charger and pushing each other...its always the same at this time isn't it? Or isn't it??? xx

GreedyGecko · 28/01/2008 20:36

Lovely scan pics twinkle.

BTKs, well done on your party. Sounds good to me re stayng at yours with boys. Thanks again.

FH, jewellery making on your own sounds wonderful. Lucky you!

Am looking at Hoseasons holidays fo rht esummer. Have decided on Lake District. I love that I don't have to ask anyone elses opinion, just get on with it.

Have had the weekend from hell. xp being a @&#%$, shift from hell yesterday, car costing me loads to get through mot last week, then breaking down on way home from work last night, then got call from agent of house I'm moving into to say that landlord doesnt want a single parent. But I'm still smiling and happy!

Right off to look for houses I guess. And hopefully my 'new friend' will be online later! he he!

BTKsmum · 28/01/2008 21:12

Lovely scan pics mr T, thanks you for letting us see them, you must wonder what a mad bunch your dw has fallen in with [Grin]

right got to go Tom still up and Barneys getting on my wick Beks

novadandypowder · 28/01/2008 21:56

oh my goodness, I'd forgotten how precious scan pics are, how wonderful to see your twins Twinkle

bob, did I miss the announcement, are you having another? (just with the talk of looking at a bebepod ). FWIW I got rid of my buggy board as noo wasn't a fan and I didn't like the angle I had to walk at to accommodate it. Now I put miniman in the front of the P&T and noo walks, when she gets tired I put her in the underneath seat of the buggy which she thankfully quite enjoys.

Btks, well done on the party front, my hat is firmly off to anyone who can entertain a room full of children!!

Rodeo, had my third lesson today with a different teacher and horse. It was much better, the new horse (well I say new, she is 30 years old!) will actually trot without stopping all the time. The other horse was a bit of a stubborn/lazy man. I'm still loving it but I've got soooo much to learn, all the time I'm riding my head is spinning with 'heels down, head up, don't lean forward' etc...

Glad you had a lovely weekend with your workshop Feetheart, will this be the start of something?? Can we expect to see you in full silver Mr T like chains and rings?

Chacha, how lovely to have a holiday to look forward to, your lo's will be so well travelled.

Had a good weekend, went to DH's annual works party on friday and had such a lovely time I kept saying I didn't want to go home! I was a bit gutted when we got home though and I discovered my platinum and diamond Tiffany bracelet was no longer on my wrist . By some miracle it was found on the floor and handed in at the party venue - we really must now make sure it goes on the insurance.

Miniman is trying so hard to pull himself up, we never had that with noo, so we're having to deal with lots of banged heads (even had to sign an accident report at the nursery today because he'd fallen backwards whilst trying to pull up on a chair).

Taking noo for her first visit to the dentist on thursday. She still hasn't got all of her teeth but I reckon it's about time we started going.

Have booked a photo session with a photographer that does vintage style lingerie/burlesque pictures on friday. My hope is that I'll be able to get a few pictures doneas a valentines gift for DH. We need a bit of a kick start in the romance department as we've been letting it slide.

BrownieBells · 29/01/2008 22:21

Hello all, just a quick post from me - T now much better, thankfully. Temp was up (max 40.4) for about 3 days, and his tonsils were really swollen bless him, but he was a tough little soldier and seemed quite perky considering - just lost his apetite.
I ended up at docs yesterday as I have had flu-like sypmtoms for about a week - and have apparently got a sinus infection - so on antibiotics too now!

Bob - glad to have you back hon, you have been missed!
Chacha - echo other posts - hats off to you travelling with 3 los! I would be like a woman possessed!
Nova - ooh foxy! not sure we really had the romance thing in the first place!? but dh is def a rock, so must be thankful for that.

Not sure yet if I can make the meet up - too many weekend commitments with Brownies unfortunately - but if I don't make this one - I propose another Stratford meet up, perhaps in the Summer or early Autumn when we can all head to the big park and eat icecream! (and those that are up for it can take a rowing boat down the river). Sorry - feel like I am letting you all down, hope you understand, but Brownies seems to take up loads of my time, and I always feel like I am missing something.....oh bugger! (promise you'll all still love me!?)

Right, rally must go and try and get some sleep - loads to catch up on, as couldn't sleep what with glued up sinuses and all that [yeuch emoticon]

lots of love
B

ChaCha · 29/01/2008 23:11

Hey GG - Hoping that this weekend will be a better one for you. Car working okay now? And what about new landlord? What a PITA...well done on being able to smile through it all, takes a strong person to do so.

Beks - laughing at 'Barneys getting on my wick', felt like that yesterday and today with Thomas ('need it choo choo') and having real bad case of cabin fever too.

Nova - An excellent idea for a Valentine gift (or when circumstances demand it) and i think it's something that you'll really enjoy too. I'd love to be that comfortable with my body now [sighs], one day!!!! Hope it's a great experience for you.

BB - sorry to hear you are poorly, hope you get some rest!

Bad case of cabin fever here, kids are too poorly to go out and i'm finding the days very, very long. Have honestly had enough of DS1 at this time of night (still awake) and DS2 had us up from 2-5am poor thing! Sorry to moan, extremely tired xxx love to all x

Londoner · 30/01/2008 18:30

Hi all,

ChaCha, sounds like running a marathon, daily, hope this phase passes swiftly. Thinking of you and sending energy, lots of. You will be okay.
Lovely scan pics Twinkle, wow!
Btks, you sound so busy!
Nova, great present idea, nice keepsake for you too. Party sounds great, puts faith back in etc to get bracelet back too.
BB, glad lo on the mend at last, you poor things.
Hi BoB, good to hear from you!
Hi FH, so great to get your update, good on you with the course, sounds great. Love image of A walking home from school with T in pushchair, awww.
Hi Diege, Hi Rodeo, Hi L&S, hope I didn't miss anyone. Everything's soooo busy right now! Love to all.

Londoner · 30/01/2008 18:31

GG, sorry Hi!

Diege · 31/01/2008 06:51

Morning everyone! Good to read everyone's news - wow, we are a busy lot! Gorgeous piccies TWINKLE! It's so exciting having you and CHACHA expecting - it seems to be going so fast! Not for you I'm sure .
BOB, I too got the wrong end of the stick and thought you were pregnant again , so apologies if you're not!
Well, really bogged down with the A level marking...our house has degenerated into a snappy zone, and dh knows to try and leave me to it as much as possible! The deadlines are so tight, but the money really helps, so needs must!
Have been chatting on a pre-ttc thread - really funny how chatty everyone is when we're only at the thinking stage, lol! I've sort of confirmed I'll be starting ttc in May, but it's 'provisional' . At the moment just reading about your planned valentine's surprise NOVA makes me feel tired .
Right, better start the morning rush, dh away with work again!

novadandypowder · 31/01/2008 09:21

Diege, I dipped into the due oct 08 ante-natal thread, (as I like to remember how it all was), and the excitement just jumps off the page. It's funny to see these ladies embarking on the same journey I was doing 3 YEARS AGO!! As much as I hate it, pregnancy is an amazing thing.

twinkle1 · 31/01/2008 09:59

Morning girls,
Well the weather has gone mad here!!!!
60mph wind, thunder&lightning plus hail the size of marbles so bad i took the kids to school in the car (which i never do).And from tonight snow and lots of it like snow
We had another man out for a loft conversion quote last night!!! I hope when we get the quotes back they are not too bad!!!! I also want a large conservatory and the wall at the end of the kitchen knocking down so its open at the end into the conservatory....and now i need to win the lottery
right must go ds2 is reprogramming the tv
twinkle

feetheart · 31/01/2008 14:31

Twinkle - what lovely pictures. How often are they scanning you, I remember you saying it was going to be quite often. Quite amazing to think that my Mum found out she was expecting twins at 7 mths when someone thought they heard an irregular heartbeat. It was confirmed by x-ray Admittedly that was the mid-60's!
Weather sounds a bit daunting, my two were complaining aboit being blown to school this morning but it wasn't raining.

GG-shame on the landlord. I rent out my old flat and inspite of various predictions of doom and gloom from other people for renting to 'foreigners' my young, unmarried Polish tenants (who have a toddler about A's age) have been there for over 3 years and keep the place in far better condition than I ever did when I lived there Prejudice in ALL forms is nasty and small-minded and says far more about the person spouting the opinions than about anyone else. I will now remove myself from my soapbox

BTKS - well done on 3rd party. I share others complete admiration. Have you got any more planned? There was athread about party games on here a few days ago. I'll link to it after I've finished this as I don't want to risk losing another epic!

Nova - no chance of Mr T impersonations though I do fancy having a go at the pendant/earring workshop she does. One of the best, and most unexpected, things about it was how it created a link with my Dad. He was a silversmith but died when I was 7 so I have no memories of him working. Silver/goldsmiths workshops have changed very little for centuries so I was able to picture him in that sort of setting.

ChaCha - hope the germs are leaving your house, and yours BB.

Had a bit of a nostalgic moment last night as A finally went into his 'big boy's bed' and the cot was taken to bits. Definitely an end of an era for us. Bittersweet thoughts though not even my friend's 8 week old falling asleep on my shoulder later on made me the slightest bit broody!

Off to tie up some more t-shirts!! Rodeo, go for it, there isn't much to it and the results so far look great for very little effort and even less skill

feetheart · 31/01/2008 14:35

BTKS - try this
