BTKsmum · 15/01/2008 12:48

Hi all

Sorry to be a stranger, not getting much time to myself at the moment.

GG what a twat your dp is, glad you've got the order sorted, even if it's not served. If you need time away you know where you can come.

Twinkle wow how lovely and what great results, you must be a very fit bunny.

Londoner what a cool mum you are, I don't know many kids who would have brought their mates home like that. You must be very proud of your relationship with ds1

Diege sorry to hear about Nibbles, had a hamster when i was a kid - hated the bloody thing Glad dd's took it ok though and a very thoughtful thing to do re putting it back to bed - i'm very impressed

chacha you really should think about writing a kids book, you'd make a fortune.

Right got to go evil sprite doing my head in, hello to all I've missed, feety good to see you back too. Beks

ChaCha · 15/01/2008 13:22

Twinkle - Great news!!! Glad that all is well with you and the dancing babies, hurray!

BTKS - Good to see your post. LOL at evil sprite, bless him! How are your parties coming along btw?

Nothing but rain here but DS loves putting his wellies on and splashing about in the puddles, always amazed at his excitement to go out and splash. We have braved the buses and the shops and are all sat having lunch...some nice quiet time while it lasts.
DH is talking of moving, a move up North, Midlands (have been there a handful of times) and so i'm thinking better now than later as i do not want to be taking 2 toddlers and newborn to new home, moving etc.. don't you think? Quite daunting really, will need to find out about hospitals - i love our local hospital....ho hum..much thought needed.

We need some updated pics on Y girls. Would be nice it we all get some posted asap - and some updates in general.

Hope you are all well, the demands have started for more hummus and 'bwead' better go xx

twinkle1 · 15/01/2008 16:05

Chacha,
you might end up been nt that far from us
where in north midlands are you thinking of????
twinkle

BTKsmum · 15/01/2008 20:03

Boo Chacha move south instead, we want you to become a SE london Babe!

Just a quickie does anyone want to play Scrabble with me on Facebook?

Beks

ChaCha · 15/01/2008 20:14

He he!!! I would if i didn't have to bath the boys I'm up for games anytime on MSN when kids are asleep LOL.

Not so far north i'm afraid, Brum!!! and LOL at SE London babe...I've been to S.London just a few times, lived in West London and never really ventured far from it!

Bath time and [snigger] arsenic hour ahead...titter titter.

GreedyGecko · 15/01/2008 20:36

Well order was served yesterday. His mum just rang me a few mins ago, then hung up as soon as I answered. How bloody childish. Obviously runs in the family...xp was making dodgy calls to G (the guy from work I was/am(?) seeing).

I hope you're all going to join my tunnel group on facebook! Just to explain, it's a work joke, we have the most random conversations after work, and after one decided we were going to start a tunnels group & invite all of our frineds!

Diege · 16/01/2008 10:16

Hello! Having a frantic week at work, so just sending a sneaky hello while at my desk! RODEO: was thinking of you last week - your thread on the berevement stream was beautiful, with lots of wise and kind words. Hope you got some comfort from it. On a lighter note, I couldn't access the thread you linked to on e-mail - arghhh! Think it had expired or had been deleted?
CHACHA: North, North!!! I'm actually only 50 minutes from Birmingham when I'm at work, and I'm sure I could make a meet-up . Birmingham's a great city; loads to do, and pretty well-placed for forays into the other great Northern cities (liverpool, Manchester etc) Oh and their curries are out of this world
TWINKLE: great news of the scan, that's brilliant news . So when do you think they'll be able to tell you if the twins are identical (is it that simple, or can you only tell at birth? (v.ignorant on these things ). Will get back to you with poss' meet-up dates. I've got the A level marking again v.soon, so will be pretty busy for a few weeks, but we should try and fix up a date for Feb . BTK, lol at 'evil sprite doing my head in' - know exactly what you mean - sometimes I do what RODEO does (face down on the bed, deep breaths)just so not to lose it, although this normally happens after I've lost it! GG: glad things are progressing, although no doubt xp's legacy will linger . Do I detect from your post that you are possibly seeing someone else now? [nosey aren't I )
Well, better get some work done!Love to all I've not mentioned xxx

ChaCha · 16/01/2008 10:53

Morning! The sun is actually shining here today, hurray!!!

GG - Also glad to hear things are progressing - and am also nosey!!

Diege - Would be good to meet up - have always wanted to meet you and Rodeo in RL.

Sounds mad but i'm so enjoying the fresh air and sunshine that is coming through the windows, not having had such a great start to the day is amazing what small things can lift your spirits. Not sure how long DS1 is going to be kicking/pushing/squashing DS2, cannot keep yelling at him and often lose it with him but he can sometimes really hurt him. DS2 now screams in his face and tries to pull his ears in retaliation, i worry that before long they'll be killing each other. On the other side, they can be very loving to each other and DS1 will share, offer and not go anywhere until he tells me 'mummy, X come - X eat - X sit here' - what to do??

Off to enjoy this sunshine xxx

Rodeo · 16/01/2008 11:10

Morning
Just a quick one before I start tidying upstairs...
It's finally stopped raining! Hurray!
GG - Sorry xp & his family are being idiots, glad order has been served, my computer was out of order when the split happened I think so I'll try and catch up with your situation Wondered what the tunnels thing was! I will join!
Chacha, yes move to the Midlands! We all lovely up here! Jess loves puddles - makes a beeline for them to splash in while shouting 'Peppa Pig! Peppa Pig!'
Twinkle, good news on our twins! They'll still be November twins no matter what month they're born!
BTKS, nice to see you post, how's the diet going?
Diege, will try and find the funny thread again! And thanks for the thoughts Chacha too
Right better go think the cat has scratched Jess, she's shouting 'CAT AWAY, CAT OUTSIDE!' Oh dear! Definite love/hate relationship going on at the moment! Bye! x x x

Hi RODEO! Thanks so much for the SS, arrived today . L loves it, and has been shuffling around the lounge with it in the crook of her arm while wearing sleeping beauty dress . Love santa's note too!!
Right,a good night of telly calls . Anyone else looking forward to Torchwood?

twinkle1 · 16/01/2008 20:00

Diege · 16/01/2008 21:00

Ooh TWINKLE, crisps and John Barrowman, mmmm
Poor you with dh away! Arghh, you must be knackered !!
Right John's on [he's mine by the way, you can have the new Captain, capt Jim or something??)

feetheart · 16/01/2008 21:39

Just taken over an hour to catch up (and undo all the good work the osteopath did this evening by sitting hunched up over the keyboard
Lovely to hear all the news, I will try and post properly soon. I too am struggling with lack of time to myself as we have been trying to knock A's naps on the head. He was starting to wake just a little too early for my liking (and I'm the morning person!) What choo choo is Z asking for ChaCha? With us its either Kneebouncers or the recently discovered Thomas site.

Definitely up for a meet-up though Feb might be difficult as the world and his wife have birthdays then - the problem of meeting most of your friends in a post-natal group, bit like November really

Love to all

novadandypowder · 16/01/2008 22:30

well I really enjoyed my first horse riding lesson, I have a loooong way to go, but it's a start. The horse cracked me up, they have such strong personalities.

Noo has really got into 'In The Night Garden', must confess we now have the cbeebies bedtime hour on most nights. She's become very clingy, always asking for cuddles and always under my feet. She also keeps telling us that bits of her body hurt (so far we've had feet, shoulder, wrist, head), but I'm not sure if they really do or if it's an attention thing . I'm hoping it's nothing we're doing and that it's just a phase.

Miniman started crawling at the weekend and is enjoying his new found freedom. The cats have been subjected to a bit of chasing (albeit slow chasing), and nothing is safe. He's having a few sleep issues at the moment and I'm at a loss as to why, but I'm very tired!

Feetheart, noo keeps telling us she doesn't want to nap, but if we let her stay up she's literally ready to fall by about 5.30. It also doesn't make any difference to the time she wakes up, but I agree that it's sometimes a bit more convenient if she doesn't have one as it really eats into the day. Don't have that problem with miniman, he thinks sleep is for the weak, and only has two 30-40 min naps during the day.

Anyone watching Moving Wallpaper/Echo Beach? I quite enjoyed it in a naff way.

Londoner · 17/01/2008 14:22

Hello all,

Twinkle, so pleased everything is going so well with your pg, great news and how exciting.
Rodeo, thinking of you at what must be a difficult time, did not read your post on other thread but intend to.
Diege, well done on the Nibbles situation, you and dh sorted things out so well, so thoughfully, 3 lucky daughters.
GG, good to see you post, hang in there.
FH so lovely to hear from you!
Hi Btks & ChaCha and thanks to you and others for support and pat on back after ds1 b.day celebrations. Thank you.
Nova, horseriding sounds brill. Having lots of sleep adjustments in our house too, reckon they're headed towards half a nap/dropping daytime sleep don't you?
Love to all, what a beautiful day, must replace all dead plants in windowboxes with something, or even nothing would be preferable to straggling dead thing in there atm. Hi to others too - Bye.

twinkle1 · 17/01/2008 15:25

what a beautiful day??????? not here, still raining...... so much that gas pipes to school are flooded with water so school closed at 10am this morning. On the plus side the chickens swimming is improving no end and the water is only about a foot deep in the garden at the min!!!!!!!
Am i uneasonable to think blue sky and snow would be out of order????????? im so looking forwrd to dh coming home am so tired i could sleep for 6 months (wake me up when i have given birth )

ChaCha · 17/01/2008 17:15

hello all, thought i'd have a catch up rather than making the dinner and stringing the rats up by their tails!!!

Cutting out the naps is a no go area here and today is the evidence. Now at 5pm he is rubbing eyes, yawning, throwing stuff everywhere and driving me crazy. Almost gave in an hour ago when he was going beserk but DS2 was having none of it - time for them both or nothing was the message it seems.

Typical both now sat next to each other, DS1 putting on his socks and shoes and DS1 being apprentice holding shoe....while the steam comes out my ears....ahhhhhhhh!

Thank you for that. I needed to vent so badly.

Twinkle - You get your sleep - you deserve it!!!! and LOL at chickens.

Feetheart - Thomas One that i am not too keen on.

Nova - Horseriding sounds great. DS1 sometimes does that but is almost always for attention, bit of a boy that cried wolf sometimes though as i learnt when on holiday.

Suppose i better go and do something now that i've had a deep breath. And i'm having another one ha ha.....ROFFL!!!

GreedyGecko · 17/01/2008 19:46

Hi there everyone. ChaCha, hang in there, you're not alone (I know it's no consolation as you only ever see everyone elses children behaving beautifully). My 2 are at each others throats one minute, or being so loving to each other the next. They really wind each other up, but can be so, so cute with each other, playing wonderfully together, sharing nicely, helping each other out.

Twinkle, lol @ chickens, hope the rain eases up soon for you.

Londoner, I too had to replace the plants at the front of my house, one had been a dead twig for so long, but house being on the market gave me the kick I needed to get some new ones.

Oh, and good news on hte house front, a couple came orund on Tues eveing, and really liked it, so are coming back on Sun morning to see it during the day. Fingers crossed!

For you 'nosey' peeps , erm, I'm not really sure if I am seeing him. I like him, but I don't think he's 'proper' boyfriend material, and I don't want to get into anything serious atm. We keep stopping & starting because things start getting quite heavy, so I back off, then things start up again. I'm backed off atm as things were getting a little too serious again this last weekend.

Londoner · 17/01/2008 20:41

Hello all,

Oh Rodeo, I just came on to read about your daughter Lily in the bereavement section and am so moved by your posts, and by the many touching posts you received in reply. Am thinking of you and echo the warm words you got in reply, feel very choked. You seem such a wonderful mother and despite all the modern equipment that surrounded you I come away struck by the way in which you and Lily managed to share some very special, intimate time together. You obviously shared and still experience a very strong bond. Pushing love and inner peace your way{{{{{{{

BrownieBells · 17/01/2008 22:21

Rodeo - sending love and thoughts, sorry for not posting sooner, or for remembering from last year sending you all hugs and love, strength and peace.

Well, am I missing something on this reight Vs left brain thing!? first time it loaded, could have sworn the woman was twirling anti-clockwise, but then she switched and now only twirls clockwise......surely it's a catch?

Will try and post a longer update etc. soon, but have not long got in from yoga, and am shattered, as the night wakings are still conitnuing, last night I was up at least 7 times between 3 and 4 am T will still only have me, not interested in Daddy at all....so for now at least, I am getting very little sleep, which is not good for me..... and here we are Diege, thinking of ttc another one - are we fools!?

Ooh, Chacha - if you do move further north (from where you are now) you will be even closer to me, here in Stratford - train service to Brum from here is fab, we may yet get to meet up in RL!?

Right, must go and get some sleep.....

B

Diege · 18/01/2008 13:56

Hello . Arghh, when will it stop raining! Lots of swans and ducks on out canal (back garden) but no chickens . GG: great news about the house, fingers crossed for your viewing! Interest in ours has dried up, and even the for sale sign has given up and fallen over - then of course we got strangers stopping us in the street to ask if house was still for sale, grrr!!!
BB, you poor thing with the sleep situation, that's awful . I think from memory with dd2 (who was same with my dh at night) we actually played on this and sent dh in (so in the end it just wasn't worth her keeping screaming for the reward she got ). I do think they can sometimes play the game a bit (los, not dhs)so this can 'change the pace' a little and sometimes get results! lol, sounds like guerilla warfare! CHACHA, snap with naps here too, though it comes in phases. At the moment, L has decided the only place she'll nap is dd2's bunk (lower!)She won't sleep in her big girl bed (I put her back in the cot in the end). I don't know if her using dd2s bed at lunchtimes is good or bad? Ie, it's a bed, but not HER bed???
Have to say I'm also a little worried about L's speech. She's chatting to herself etc a lot, but isn't anywhere near sentences. Mostly 2 words (my bear!!hello mummy!), or at the most, 'all done now'. Just seems very behind the others in nursery.
Hi to everyone I've not mentioned .
Oh and meant to say I've gone 'social' and joined another few threads: the SW one which is great , and just now the waiting to TTC one - people seem nice and friendly there too, but you of course are my family and will always remain so .

ChaCha · 18/01/2008 14:43

Diege - why do my posts to you always contain the infamous LOL?! LOL at going social, that did make me laugh. I have stayed on ante-natal thread longer than the few weeks (or was it days) that i did with DS2 and although it's great to meet other cyber buddies tis not the same as here.
DS1's bed has been our bottom bunk since he was just over a year old i think - it's a very big bed yet he always tucks himself down side of bed one arm and one leg dangling down the side - do wish we'd got him his own little boy's bed but seeing as he's content in there will do till next house.

We are thinking of moving by May. New city, new friends to meet, new baby and two toddlers - will i survive?

BB/Diege - I will invite you all to stay/dinner whatever when we move and are settled i promise, all welcome. Could not invite anyone here at the moment, bombsite! New house will be clutter free and have domestic goddess written all over it [dreams on].

Have gotten boys to sleep on sofa, hurray! Far cry from yesterday - key is not to take them out mid-morning it seems. Well better go and arrange DH's trip..tee tum.

Rodeo · 18/01/2008 19:22

Evening
Still rainy here too! Had to ride and muck out 2 horses this morning, came back soaking and smelly!
Londoner, thank you for your post, you are very thoughtful How are those window boxes coming along?
Diege, I'm sure Libby's speech is fine, sounds very similar to Jess's so maybe it's a little sister thing Main word is still 'Noooo!' Loves 'singing' though, is forever trailing my ipod around with her 'Ahhhhh-hhhh, oooooo-oooohh, mmmmnnnn'
Chacha, of course you'll survive Went to a soft play this afternoon with a friend who's little boy is called Charlie, and she affectionately calls him Cha-cha! Had to bite my tongue before blurting out 'I've got a friend called Chacha!'
BB, feel for you with the sleep situ, Jess does it occasionally, usually just when I'm dropping off to sleep I'm not very sympathetic though at night, so she only gets a 'shush, go back to sleep.'!
Nova, congrats on your first lesson Hope your not aching too much! Glad you enjoyed it.
Jess is still having a nap around 11-12 for an hour, if she goes without for whatever reason the results are awful! She'll end up nodding off while having her tea for 10 minutes and then she'll be revitalised and won't sleep til 9-10pm, will just sing and throw toys about in her cot! So am holding on to her naps for now!
Right, off to get them in the bath now, dp is out later so will be back no doubt Bye for now x

Londoner · 19/01/2008 10:09

Hi everyone,

Twinkle, lol at swimming chickens! Hope you're getting some better weather this weekend. Can you catch up on some rest?
ChaCha, agree with Rodeo, you will be alright, how exciting to move to a bigger place, will be worth the effort. When I was expecting my 3rd MIL advice that had been passed on to her was simple, "you have to be quick" lol. Is v.helpful at times I find, helps me to focus sometimes that saying although am still a complete sucker for standing around hugging my kids with a house full of chaos mostly. And we have survived, mostly, although at times i can feel a little embarassed when people take their shoes off to come into my house as I feel they really prob need to keep them on or end up with a lot of 'crumbs' on their socks.Lol. Maybe that's it, you know you're alright if you still have a sense of humour? Maybe that's why it's so worrying in pg because I know I exp def lack of sense of humour due to ms and chronic tiredness during pg, it always comes back though, how about you?
Rodeo . Window boxes are good thanks, missed a totally freak rain storm by about 10 mins when doing that, so they got watered in nicely, have butchered the hedge though, what a public display of crapness, maybe I could stick some back on, a sort of hedge toupe....lol at J and your iPod, what a sweet sweet image, bet she's adorable.
BB, poor you on the sleep front, do you think he's teething or having dreams? Know this is case with Baby if it's any consolation she woke up 5 times between going to sleep and midnight, she has molars cutting I was v.relieved to spot yesterday which explained this behaviour. Any ideas why T is? Hope you manage to catch up on rest this weekend.
Diege, glad to hear you're keeping your sense of humour over the house sale, soooo stressful I can imagine, hope you get some good buyers v.soon. Have to say was v.comforted by you saying L sleeps in sister's bed for naps- had the same recently but she quit and went back to her own bed after couple of weeks, maybe L will do the same, but like you say what does it really matter as long as she sleeps hey. Are you really worried about her speech? Have you chatted to hv or anyone about it? Would say I have met loads of kids who didn't really start speaking much until 3+.
Hi to everyone, got to go, Baby shouting outside ds1 bedroom at top voulume and banging on door lol, that should wake whole neighbourhood never mind ds!
