Thankd for update Diege. Will apologise re spelling etc now. Comp so old, & keyboard doesn't work properly.

WOW! Twins for twinkle! Glad scan went well for you & for you too ChaCha.

Feel really positive about my 'new start', hoping to stay closeby, there are quite a few new estates going up, so am going to try for part buy/part rent. Also now I no longer have to involve him, I can do so much more with the boys, more days out, breaks away, making things at home etc. (BTW how big is BEKS house? ) London meet up sounds great, will look forward to that.

Have had an 'eventful' night, although has left me with even more positive outlook. XP came for the rest of his things today, started on me as soon as he was in the door, ended up assaulting me, then again while I was on phone to police. Just angry that boys had to witness it again, and means a trip to SS tomorrow (feel pro-active apporach may be beneficail). Am a little sore, but as I say feeling very positive, he's actually making it all so much easier for me.

Hope Nibbles comes back safe & sound for dd1 Diege.

It feels good to have the interent back (now lets trawl through the 400 emails I probably have!)

Rodeo · 10/01/2008 22:00

Any sign of Nibbles our absent hamster?

Well I have gone from thinking about to booking our summer holiday! Dartmouth here we come (in Aug)! We'll be there for the Regatta, totally coincidental, so will be busy but fun for first 2 days. All excited now!

BrownieBells · 10/01/2008 22:08

Oh, GG - big hugs to you, obviously his behaviour is just going to prove to the authorities what sort of person he is.....horrible....feel so much for you, at lest you are fabulously positive - you go girl

Diege - hope Nibbles returns soon (or Nibbles2 )

Rodeo, we have booked our holiday now - we are going to Devon this year (after the last 2 years in Wales) looking forward to it - a fabulous log cabin in the countryside! (with luxurious hot tub on the balcony! how very decadent (not even sure that this is the right word, but it sounds good!)

Have read all of your "stuff" posts with interest - have massive confession......in our house, it is me who is the hoarder, and the one who leaves everything in (semi-neat) piles everywhere - and it is DH who is the ultra-tidy one,the one who moans at me to tidy up..... I can't help it, I blame my Dad, as he is very similar to me, actually that is just a cop out - it is all my fault - no blame on anyone else, I am like a squirrel - I hoard.
Yes, my name is Brownie and I am a hoarder......

Right, feel better for that!!!!!

Have just watched the Brain Training programme on C5 - anyone else watch it? I found it really interesting - specially as it involved some of the theories and techniques that we use / train at work (kinaesthetic learning and all that mallarky!)

Right, off to bed now, incase we have more early hours waking shennanigans!

Hi girls

Glad to hear all is well Cha Cha hope the sickness subsides soon.

Diege we had a hamster a few years ago that escaped and chewed a hole in the skirting board and disappeared for 6 days - it then came out again one night all scrawny and tired but there is hope it may still come out, we were going to fill the hole the day after it came out too!!

Talking of hols its only 13 weeks til we go to Dubai!! am joining weight watchers again next tues aiming to shift a couple of stone before then !!

Off to the hospital tomorrow to see the consultant again about my varicose veins!! I feel he will just tell me to sod off though.

Hi to everyone else Good to see you're feeling so positive GG - good luck with the house move.
xxxx

ChaCha · 10/01/2008 22:55

Diege - As i'm lying upstairs in my sick bed I start laughing to myself on hearing DH with DC during the bedtime hour [he heee] then i remember your comment on 'arsenic hour' and I worry that i confused your 'arsenic hour' with something to do with nibbles or you meant doing bedtime routine alone with DC with DH being out - and then thought i might be LOL at something that wasn't very funny!!!!!

I'm not makingmuch sense no? Pregnancy sucks.

ChaCha · 10/01/2008 22:59

L&S - Lovely!!!! DH is going there next month, i wanted to join him but works out way over our budget - you must be looking forward to it, have you been before? I enjoyed it when i went with work a few years ago, but then i was young and single and full of life!!

Really must get to bed...after a toffee crumble x

Diege · 11/01/2008 07:41

Morning! GG, what a total ar*e you XP is . I presume you now have some sort of restraining order in place? Agree with BB, at least he's showing his true colours and that the Authorities will be taking note! Good idea about contacting SS, if only to make a note on your file .
CHACHA: lol re: 'arsenic hour' . I take it to refer to that poisenous hour between 6 and 7 when the kids go into meltdown and all you want to do is get then into bed! It occurs reggardless of childcare arrrangements, but obviously is worse (or sometimes strangely better)the less adults there are! BB, lol at that brain train programme! I had heard it was good, but had vision of smug boden-clad home counties 'mummies' watching it to 'train' darling 'Hugo' or 'Tabitha' I watched that tennis 'Rapunzel' thing on BBc - really good!
RODEO, and others who have asked, sad news on the Nibbles front I'm still trying to piece evidence together so that I can figure out what happended! Came down today (me and all dds) and while I was in the kitchen (and dd1 in the toilet) dd2 calls out 'urgh, what's that! So I come rushing to see very dead looking Nibbles on the rug, with shall we says evidence of having been mawled by old big cat!!!! . Thankfully, she assumed big cat had got a mouse, and I'd covered up the evidence before dd1 came back from loo ('can I have a look!!! - uh, noooo!!!). My theory is that Nibbles somehow got outside (looking at route down from the hole and that the bloody cat brought her back through the cat flap. I can't see how she could have got outside the downstairs loo, as the door was locked when she escaped (and was still in cage), and last night too. Anyway, it's all academic now, and we will have to think what to do! At least dd1 didn't find (and recognise ) her!!.
Right, breakfasts to do - my throat is killing me from screaming my head off, the shame

GreedyGecko · 11/01/2008 08:01

Morning. Oh poor Nibbles , but did lol @ you screaming your head off Diege.

Not good news here, police phoned late last night. He ha been released without charge. As I have no bruises ATM it's my word against his, and CPS believe him. . Even though he's not going to get done for it, it will still be referred to SS, so going to go down there as planned today. Solicitor will be getting injunction in place 1st thing this morning. (didn't think we'd have to move so quickly as was expecting him to have bai conditions).

Very of all the Dubai trips. XP was offering me a trip to Dubai (an Lapland, and a new car...) when he was going through his 'buy her back' stage.

Tooth Brushing time, speak later xx

twinkle1 · 11/01/2008 08:50

GG what a complete Ba###rd!!!!!! Injunction is a good idea.Glad you are staying so positive.I dont know if this helps but if you phone the local womens refuge they have outreach workers who can come out to your home and offfer support and practical help rgards saftey, security etc. I sometimes meet them in my current job and they are fab
Any way hope that helps.
Diege sorry about nibbles but i did laugh.
Can you replace with another one and say it apperead back out of the hole?????
Well DS1 is still ill so need to ring the drs and get an app, strange symptoms headache, sore neck ,sore throat and temp????

twinkle

twinkle1 · 11/01/2008 11:48

Right back from Dr's.
DS1 has acute tonsilitis so we have high dose penicillen, they were slightly worried about meningitis because of the stiff neck!!!
and headche and said if he gets any worse take him to A&E!!!!!!!! children they worry you to death.
At least dh will be home soon so i can trek over to the supermarket and get meds and shopping.
Love my new car, gradually learning what all the buttons are for Now excited/scared about NT scan on mon.At least DH is coming with me.
twinkle

Diege · 11/01/2008 11:59

Hi TWINKLE!! Aww poor ds1, but sounds like you've got a good GP there! Good luck for the nuchal. I remeber being really nervous about mine (are you having bloods too?) I remember thinking though that this is the time to discover any possible problems iyswim, and much better than later tests . Do you have to pay for your's, or is it on the NHS? [diege thinks of double cost for twins scenarios!! ).
Well no grey and white hamster in the Warrington area, so will sit on it for a day or so, and think again when dh gets back tonight. I still can't believe big cat found her! She only had a tiny mark on her tummy, so probably died of shock! (maybe big cat thought he was bringing her back to safety?? mmm, no...he's a cat.)

twinkle1 · 11/01/2008 12:09

morning Diege,
Cant have bloods because its twins!!!! and my PCT dont offer nuchal so i have had to pay and go to leeds nuffield for it!!!!! 178 quid grrrr.I had nuchal and bloods with josh though again i had to go to the nuffield. Its very like a lotto when it comes to what the different pct's provide. If you are stuck for hamster choice i can always go and look in pets at home????? Any dates for us to meet up yet????
blimey i could just go to bed for a couple of hours.
twinkle

ChaCha · 11/01/2008 13:39

OH Diege so sorry to hear about Nibbles but relieved to hear that DD was not present when discovered, phew! How old is DD that has strong bond with hamster? Was going to suggest that Nibbles has some family business to attend to in Hamsterish Island and that his cousin Squibbles will be taking his place for a while....[i think i make too many stories up for DS] maybe DD could pack him goodies box ready to take to PO and make clean out cage in prep for cousing arriving. Vivid imagination in progress....lol.

Twinkle - know how you feel but sure you are quite literally twice as tired. Glad you are getting along with new car and sorry to hear DS is poorly, you sure have your hands full right now. Here's to some sleep!!!

GG - I totally missed your paragraph on XDP antics - totally at the audacity of this man - Good riddance!!!!

Raining and raining here, very quiet day with trip to good old Ikea later in afternoon - just got my text to say table is in stock, hurray! At last a family size table (that will not end up hoarding place for clothes/bills/plates/pens/etc..)

Diege · 11/01/2008 16:42

Thanks for your concern and suggestions girls . I've rung pets at Home, but no 'double' there (if you see a grey and white short-hair at yours TWINKLE, pop in in the post ). CHACHA, dd1 whose hamster Nibbles was is 6, so probably beyond the lovely story (you should write a book!).
TWINKLE, had to pay here too for nuchal with dd3 (£168); we had ours in Chester; v.good and very professional. I hear Leeds is good too (where they sent my bloods if I remember!). Right, teatime!

Diege · 11/01/2008 17:25

Oh No!! Dd2 has just come downstairs and said (looking v.upset). 'I'm really worried.. You know that rat I saw this morning that was dead...well it look like Nibbles'' Think we'll have to move fast!

ChaCha · 11/01/2008 19:36

OH Diege!!!!
Did DD1 see it clearly? Hope not. Hope you sort summink out asap.

Off to IKEA then...Friday night eh? Such a party, LOL

Have good night girls xx

Rodeo · 11/01/2008 19:37

GG, so sorry you had to go through that last night, how horrid for you F**&£$%ING CPS! Hope you're ok
Sorry to hear about Nibbles Diege
Got to dash, going to Virgin Vie Party, but want to post because I'm about having missed GG's post yesterday. Speak later x

GreedyGecko · 12/01/2008 13:24

Woohoo! I have a new laptop, so back in broadband land, although TBH the dial up wasn't actually as slow as I remembered! This baby is so tiddly! The insurance company will be sending me a cheque, so thought I'd go and get one now, otherwise I'll be waiting until next month.

Injunction was passed in court, but they haven't been able to serve it as we don't know where he lives.

Hows the hunt for a new Nibbles going?

Londoner · 12/01/2008 22:48

Hi girls,

GG, am so sorry to hear your news, and hope you're doing ok. Sounds awful. Did you go to SS? Am full of real admiration for you and your immense courage and belief in your ability to forge ahead without him as a strong unit with your sons, and for what it's worth, although I've not met you but judging from the strength of your words and relationship with your sons, I have no doubts whatsoever and believe in you completely.
Diege, gawd, what now? Would tell dd the whole sorry story if it was me but don't think for a minute there is a right or wrong way, I'm just no good at fabrication. Love ChaCha's stories-Hey ChaCha!-, reminded me of that wonderful film by an Italian director called life is beautiful I think, on portraying life in a concentration camp as beautiful and fun to his hidden son? Sorry but also laughed out loud at your stripped vocal chords due to screaming, you're so funny, but do understand you really are very upset, am with you. Really hope you manage to find a way through this weekend.
Twinkle , well done on organising the scan, and v.glad you're enjoying your new purchase.
Rodeo, hey get you and your posh party, hope you have a great time!
BB, congrats on the new car, how can you wait? That's got to be too exciting!
Hi Btks! Hi L&S! Hi Nova!
Hey, try this - which side are you? I'm right sided.
Had b.day tea for ds1 b.day today, went off v. well and feel pleased and soo relieved - that's it now for a good long while on kids' b.day front, pheeeeeeeeeew! Made tea for 10 14-16 year olds plus the rest of the family. Job done.
Hope you all have great weekends, despite difficulties in some houses, love to all, bye.x

Londoner · 12/01/2008 22:52

Oh and ChaCha, thanks for link will look at that on Monday, and hope you had a great party at IKEA, is it those little tiny dime bars you're after. Well worth trip to Ikea imo.

Diege · 13/01/2008 11:03

Hello . Well, in the end we decided it wasn't right (or really possible) to replace NIbbles, so we told dds the truth (albeit modified). So dh put Nibbles back in her cage, in bed, and brought the cage out (so N dies in her sleep). We had a little burial in the garden, and while dds were really upset (esp dd2 who took it a lot worse than dd1) felt on balance that we'd done the right thing .
GG - at least you have the injunction, albeit unserved. Lots of strength to you, you're doing brilliantly . Hi LONDONER, wow you should go into catering - bet you were really calm and organsied too . I'm right sided too - can't believe most would be left? I'll have to try it on dh later as he always insists how rational and 'left-sided' he is!
Children's party this afternoon at Fun2Be (do you remember meeting up there GG/TWINKLE??)NO doubt it will be crazy with the weather, but hey it has to be done .
Love to all, and speak later xx

feetheart · 13/01/2008 15:28

Very quick post as I'm supposed to be doing Tax Return!!

I'm back in computerland now after mine died before Christmas. Needed to be ressurected by DH but as that is all he does all day mine didn't get a look in for a while.

No time to catch up properly yet but did pick up on Twinkle's news
HUGE CONGRATULATIONS
I'm the sister of twins and get some of the kudos by default It is something VERY special (and if its any help my mum said it was the easiest birth she had!)

I'll be back properly once I've dealt with the Tax Office.

Rodeo · 13/01/2008 23:10

Evening
OOh Londoner, loved the link! I saw her going anti-clockwise first, then clockwise, then couldn.t help but see her going clockwise so looked away and she went anti-clockwise again Though from the lists I am left-brained, (but only just I think, I vere to the middlesish!) - which is funny because I am left-handed and I thought you were supposed to be the opposite to your handedness? Anyway thought that it was great, going to show it to kids tomorrow! Well done with the party! Gives me shivers tihnking of it!
Diege, you've handled it brilliantly I remember my first pet (a white dwarf rabbit, bred by a magician no less!) was stolen and I was soo upset, put on a brave face but then sobbed my heart out at bed time, oh still makes me sad thinking about it
Hello Feety! Oh please don't remind me of Tax Returns, hate, hate, hate doing them. Because I'm left-brained (see above) I have to dp's. Otherwise we'd be fined up to the hills! Haven't done it though, but everytime I see an advert my stomach turns over! Nice to see you back anyway - even if it was just to give me bad tidings!!
Virgin Vie Party was good, glad to see friends and have chat and a giggle Bought their Touche Eclat copy (out of the shadows!). Have booked to see The Ladyboys of Bangkok with above friends, they're coming to town!
Yesterday was, hmm, can't quite put a word to it...well it was Lily's (dd1) 10th birthday yesterday. I'd thought we'd do something nice, but dp had a class at 3 and by the time we'd got ready there wasn't enough time so went to Asda instead, so felt a bit let down (not by anyone - by myself if anything) but we had a nice tea and then later on posted a thread on the bereavement section, which was cathartic and seemed to help.
Today I have ridden, had a brilliant ride on Firday on the gelding, but took the mare out today who is a little difficult at the mo (bolshy is a word I'd use!) but she behaved beautifully And this afternoon I copied Diege and took the children to the museum Gosh really don't know how you managed Diege, we barely managed with me and dp there! Jess is a terror! We were in the Art Gallery and she threw herself on an oil painting which was for sale B & J really enjoyed the paintings though and so did I. The artist Joseph Wright is from Derby, and there is a room filled with his paintings, they're amazing, the light in them is so real, I think one of his paintings is in the National gallery. Wish I could paint! My mum can, but I've inherited left-brainedness from my Dad!
I've been blathering on again! Have nearly finished my book Northern Lights, so want to read a bit more in bed so I'll get off...Oh Monday morning has come round so fast! Speak tomorrow all, Night x

ChaCha · 14/01/2008 13:35

Hello all,

Feetheart - Good to see you again, hope you got through the bedreaded returns!

Diege - Good decision made there, hope DDs are all okay - sounds like it went smoothly and the way your DH laid him back in cage was so thoughtful. Hope weekend was well spent.

Londoner - Can i hire your services when DSs are older please?!? Amazing - how do you find the time/energy, your DC will have been sooo proud of you - so hope we have a similar household in years to come. Would never have brought friends home for tea at that age although i did have friends who did - happy home, good food, all relaxed...who wouldn't? Well done you!

Rodeo - Enjoyed reading your post and sending you a massive hug [MASSIVE hug]. Hey, that's what happened to me too, first it was going way, then the other, then i'd look again and just kept seeing it change direction - so what does that mean? Weirdo? Lol. Museum sounds fun but seriously lol at J!!! Hard to keep straight face i think, bless.

Right must go, all here for lunch x
