I made a beef casserol last week.... alf a bottle of red wine in it... Charlie loved it!!!!

cazboldy · 05/01/2008 20:34

and sounds very good too NL! Lucky you!

CD you have to take the kids or it won't work!

oooggs he wasn't bad actually, he seemed a really nice guy, i mean to help me and all, loads of other people were just ignoring me!

NorthernLurker · 05/01/2008 20:56

That's reassuring GMM - B has her own version of this one made in a seperate pan but with a hefty slug of wine!

Curry all done - v tasty - tbh it was a bit of a departure for me - dh loves thai food but I usually make him have it when out and about rather than at home as I'm not a huge coconut fan - but tonights was very good.

Mammyjo - been meaning to say - B hasn't fallen off the bed yet but I don't know how we've managed that miracle - other two rolled off things on a very regular basis - no harm done She (B) did fall off the sofa but dd1 caught her! Shame she bashed B with her knee on the way down (lazy ungrateful mother that I am )

tcmummy · 05/01/2008 21:02

stupid question then... Is it ok now for them to have food with wine cooked in it?????

NorthernLurker · 05/01/2008 21:03

I really hope so tcmummy - tbh it did cross my mind to wonder but I just chucked it in anyway - all the alcohol boils off and unless I'm wrong wine isn't hooching with salt -is it?

geordiemacminx · 05/01/2008 21:16

Well it doesnt appear to have done C any harm...just had normal stock in too... to be honest he gets bits of everything..{{bad mummy emoticon}}}

liath · 05/01/2008 21:17

Back again briefly before I bugger off to centre parcs with my sister and her brood next week. Both my nepwews are rubbish at night so we are taking earplugs, medised and lots of booze.....

Oooggs, hope the bleeding is settling, you poor thing. Fingers crossed for a quiet night tonight. I tried the GMM patented "Stuff your baby full of porridge before bed" technique last night and J slept through for the second time ever. Really really hope it's a new trend.....

Mammyjo, am so sorry you are feeling down - is it worth getting a light box do you think? It's awful the way depression can make you a different person at times, I hope we can be some help.

KHIN - silly doctor, you sound like you need antibiotics. Drink some cranberry juice meantime!!

Sorry, haven't really caught up well but hope everyone had a good New Year.

geordiemacminx · 05/01/2008 21:21

liath when you back - luce and I gonna go to soft play sometime?

geordiemacminx · 05/01/2008 21:22

Have to say that the porridge idea came courtesy of super-mummy Luce

PillockOfTheCommunity · 05/01/2008 21:28

I can't work out how to make the porridge work for me, J goes to bed at 6.30, tried giving it to him then but although it made him sleep for longer before waking for the late feed, it didn't send him right through

hi everyone
just popping in as i really need an early night. tonight will be the night!

CaptainDyson · 05/01/2008 21:32

MJ - DON'T feel bad - I'll bet you anything every single baby on here has had a nasty bump or knock that was the fault of their parents - I know each of my girls has had a few - Remember last week when I shut DD2's fingers in the boot of the car!!!!!? I had to unlock the boot to get her hand out - She was absolutely fine and still loves me - My BF sat on her 4 month old DS2's leg and broke it!!! See! you are not alone!! xx

You are not in the least bit Chavvy Ange, my love - ignore, ignore , ignore - There are lots of different ways of spelling Isobelle and I personally like your spelling, especially cos it has "Belle" in it, which means "beautiful - Lovely! xx

PMSL @ Caz saying I had to take my children to Tesco to pull - Dang, I forgot!!

Right, going to watch crap TV with DH and a cuppa ......

NorthernLurker · 05/01/2008 21:33

potc - I've been giving B just cereal for her tea for a while - remembered I used to do something like that with dd1 - her sleep is definately slowly improving but that could be a dvelopmental thing rather than the food iyswim. Tbh I try to leave a good gap between tea and bedtime milk cos I want her to have a good feed - and if she's just eaten she just messes about! Sorry - this is no help at all is it?

PillockOfTheCommunity · 05/01/2008 21:33

there's certainly a lot of crap tv to choose from tonight

PillockOfTheCommunity · 05/01/2008 21:34

geordiemacminx · 05/01/2008 21:34

C has porridge at 5.45, bottle at 6.30, dream, feed about 11.30

CaptainDyson · 05/01/2008 21:35

Ooooooooh!! SPB's having an early night!

Speculation is rife!!

NorthernLurker · 05/01/2008 21:36

well at least your not alone in having trouble with the porridge miracle

I've seen some stuff in Boots i think I'm going to try actually - I think it's Plum baby and it's called super porridge - sounds good -yes?

NorthernLurker · 05/01/2008 21:37

SOL, now SPB - it's an epidemic!

Now look POTC GMM knows how to do useful pots - I am full of shame

geordiemacminx · 05/01/2008 21:40

try weetabix

weeonion · 05/01/2008 21:40

nl - isnt that porridge made with millet or quinoa??

geordiemacminx · 05/01/2008 21:41

trust you to know that!!!! Have you got F's shifts yet?

NorthernLurker · 05/01/2008 21:42

I don't know WO - my head was turned by it's glossy packaging and promises of five grains - millet's no good actually - I've just learnt from another thread we should be thinking oats, oats, oats!

liath · 05/01/2008 21:43

GMM, am around the week after next except monday & friday. Soft play would be fab. Anything to get J away from the sky card/laptop/electrical cables/nappy bucket/potty......he really is a bloody little menace inquisitive little thing.

weeonion · 05/01/2008 21:44
