AngeG · 03/01/2008 09:08

no snow here...I love snow!

AngeG · 03/01/2008 09:08

Izzy still asleep

Lucewits · 03/01/2008 09:17

Not enough snow here to go out and play in it, but looks v pretty

I feel like such a pratt today. I knew that me and the dcs had our dental checkups at the v start of Jan so looked for the appointment card on my noticeboard yesterday. It was gone and knowing me it would be at around 8.30am today or tomorrow so I thought that I should get me and the dcs up and ready just incase and phone them today to find out actual time.
(Would have helped if I had phoned the phone number yesterday and not the fax number )
So all up and sorted by 8am, phoned them and our appointment is......4.30pm on Monday!

Have wasted one of my last two lazy mornings through my own stupidity

hi ladies just popping in from may thread altho I queue jumped most off you anyway just wanted to wish you all happy new year

Am off for a quick read to see how your lo's are progressing, Arlen is now sitting can roll over but is not on the move just yet altho i dont think it will take him long his legs are pretty strong

Quick question, how much do some of your lo's weigh and how much milk are they drinking?? Havent had A weighed for about 6/7 weeks and he was 18lb now but is getting very uninterested in milk he will have one about and hour or 2 after breakfast then one in the afternoon and one before bed, but he very rarely finished them all

StealthPolarBear · 03/01/2008 09:53

hi lupins, happy new year!
My LO was 16lb12 a week before Christmas. He still has loads of milk, not really having lots of solids yet! He can go for 3 or 4 hours between feeds finally, but i tend to offer every 3 hours and he never refuses

StealthPolarBear · 03/01/2008 09:54

you prob queue jumped me - t was born on the 27th!

StealthPolarBear · 03/01/2008 10:33

Still snowing here, keeps getting heavier and lighter
Just realised T hasn't had a feed since 5.30am!!!

Maveta · 03/01/2008 10:44

Morning all.. well after the cereal at 7.45pm N slept til 6am but he did wake at 11.30 for a quick feed which is fine.. hoping this is the shape of things to come and not a momentary blip!

Isn´t it funny how a mere date change from 31.12 to 01.01 makes everyone feel like starting over on certain things??! It really does always feel like you have a new chance to sort things out, set the tone for how you want things to be etc etc.

Finally sponsored a child through Plan Intl which is something we´ve promised we´d do for a couple of years now and never got around to So that feels good. Meal planning.. yeah.. I´ll get back to you all on that if it gets off the ground but meanwhile I´ve noted down loads of tasty looking recipes from the blw website and feel ready to go out and stock up on lentils and beans kidney bean kievs here I come!

quick question (because I always have at least one, don´t I?!) - mum bought N a walker for xmas for our house but it was broken so she is going to take it back and get a refund and wants to know what we´d like instead. I don´t want a walker now because he uses one a lot at their house so I reckon he gets enough time in it there. I am tempted to ask for a wardrobe or something from Ikea for his room but although he needs it, is that a bit rubbish for his xmas pressie? Any of you have other toys/ items that would be more fun that your little ones enjoy and get a lot of use out of?? I was maybe thinking something like this that he can´t use for a couple of months but would last a while..

StealthPolarBear · 03/01/2008 10:56

Good news about the sleep Maveta, T woke at 5.30 despite porrige so it was maybe just a coincidence!
The little trike looks good, but would it be a while before he could use it? T's favourite presents so far have seemed to be the rocking reindeer (his feet still don't touch the rests so I assume he's got at least another 6 months in that) his fisher price car (when he's older there's a posh woman who counts, recites the alphabet and it does all the usual "beep beep", turn the wheel etc, at the moment he pulls himself up on it and watches the flashy lights) and his mega blocks, at the moment he hits things with them, hopefully soon he will actually build something with them!
That said, I'm sure N also has loads of toys, and if he needs a wardrbe then i don't see anything wrong with that! T will be getting useful stuff for his birthday as the toys are bursting out of the windows.

cazboldy · 03/01/2008 11:02

hello - off to catch up - back later x

geordiemacminxpie · 03/01/2008 11:28

Maveta, we have got one of C one of these we didnt pay full price for it, bought it from an MNer near us. Its got a pole attached to it so you can push him out on wee walks?

We also bought one of these for xmas which he loves

fpesha · 03/01/2008 11:43

Maveta - D got this I think (not actually unwrapped and assembled it yet ) that dp's mum bought in france. Has rocker stage he should be able to use now then grows with him so should be a couple years use in it. I think prob quite similar to the one you linked to but not as good well built! Saying that dd got a chest of drawers for her bday or christmas when she was about 1 from my mum. I think they get so many toys its fine to have sopmething more boring as well, and its not like they know! If you dont mind I would leave it up to your mum to choose which she'd prefer to buy, thats if you think you can trust her not to get something completely different!!

tcmummy · 03/01/2008 12:12

Morning (well nearly anyway)

Crappy crap crap night here. I think T has another cold and kept waking up hungry but couldn't feed. Ahhhh...

Oooggs - I'd go and get a scan and then you'd know for sure. It wouldn't be a wasted appointment at all. At least it would set your mind at ease. I do think you're probably right and you mc, but the hormones take a while to settle, so you might have to wait a bit for a neg one.

Meant to say, no crawling here either!! A bit of bum shuffling around, but when he goes on his tum he just lies there crying

Right off to do some cooking, shepherds pie. I confess that I'm a complete fruitcake when it comes to bulk cooking and our freezer always has something in for dinner! .

fpesha · 03/01/2008 14:13

Oooh must be a day for cooking! We bought a turkey crown Leftovers! So have just made 2 turkey and veg pies with potato crust, 1 for tonight and 1 for the freezer. Smell yummuy! Am now boiling up the bones and bits for stock.

And wouldn't you know it, the second i sit down Dylan wakes up Still at least he slept long enough for me to finish cooking!

Better go.

fpesha · 03/01/2008 14:15

Thats meant to say 'cos I was missing having leftovers'. Not quite sure what happened there
