CaptainDyson · 05/01/2008 10:52

Well get as much rest as you possibly can!! xxxx Keep taking the iron tabs too.

Need to get dressed now & do some jobs - would have a cuppa, but we've got no milk

NorthernLurker · 05/01/2008 11:21

can't you do the shoppig on-line - or are you out of everything from bread to washing powder?

CaptainDyson · 05/01/2008 11:27

Yes Oooggs - shop online - sit on your butt, eat choc (good source of iron ) & drink tea!! xx

runnyhabbit · 05/01/2008 11:43

Morning all

Reality of leaving my job is sinking in. Dh being fab about it, I'm just feeling a little uncertain iyswim. Whats the betting that my boss is lovely on Monday
My mind is made up though.

Its my birthday on Monday, so me and dh are going to the cinema tonight. Not sure what we're going to see though.

Have a great weekend
xx

NorthernLurker · 05/01/2008 11:46

runny - something so much better for all of you will come along - you have plenty of time to explore your career, you just don't need to spend any of it being ignored and paid wrongly!!

CaptainDyson · 05/01/2008 11:57

Agree with NL, runny - Glad you are resolved in sticking to your guns!! Think you have made the best choice and so pleased DH is supportive of you - Something better will come along - for both of us I hope!!

If you like slightly scary films, I am Legend with Will Smith is v.good - "edge of yer seat" stuff though!!

mammyjo · 05/01/2008 12:33

Have just yelled at ds for the most ridiculous of things. Poor little boy, he has done nothing wrong, but I am so angry inside just now Am in tears now as I feel so mean to him
Told dh that maybe I should leave as they would all be better off without me and my strops. I know that is not the case, but just dont think I am being very rational IYKWIM.

Maveta · 05/01/2008 12:42

oh mammyjo I´m so sorry you are going through this. I do hope that now you have stopped the tablets things will get better. Is there anyone you could go and talk to in the meantime to try and vent some of your emotions and take some of the pressure off? Wish I could be more use, you know you can come and rant on here anytime. Hang in there, you are a great mummy and it will get better x

oooggs · 05/01/2008 12:43

mj - stay strong and go give E a big hug, you've got me crying now - I did the same to ds1 yesterday. Hope dh being supportive and that you are getting rest and hugs.

Whats F up to at the moment? Mobile? Sleeping through? Eating with chopsticks?

NorthernLurker · 05/01/2008 12:44

mammjo - stop right there - we all shout at our children when they don't deserve it - well I certainly do, but in no way would they be better off without us - we are the centre of our children's lives - it is going to be ok. You are in a hard place just now but I'm sure things will get better for you.

runnyhabbit · 05/01/2008 13:11

mj Ring me! (if you want to) W asleep and dh has taken J out x

cazboldy · 05/01/2008 13:21

Hi all finally caught up!

Well.....When Eddas and POTC had their car accidents, I kind of thought to myself oh dear, these things run in 3's - who will be next? but I didn't think it would be me!!!
On thursday afternoon on the school run I had a little bump. I had to stop on the high street on a hill behind a learner driver in a traffic jam - said learner driver stalled and rolled backwards - i looked behind and couldn't see anything and shot backwards too, but just as i did a car pulled out of a side entrance and crunch. luckily was only going really slowly and no harm done - only a cracked indicator on my car and her bumper fell off she was ok about it, and we both just agreed to sort out our own cars and not worry about insurance or anything - so now the rest of you can all breathe a sigh of relief!

Molly is feeling better after her antibiotics, but her first tooth has just cut through and she has been really miserable all morning

There are some really odd people about aren't there???
I was in the supermarket earlier and had a shrieking molly under my arm while trying to unload my overflowing trolley one handed the eldest three were all squabbling and charlie was trying to help by chucking stuff out of the trolley and on to the floor! Anyway this really nice man from the next door till with about 4 things in a basket said "here , you look after the baby, i'll do that" and he unloaded the whole trolley and packed all my shopping for me! I said thanks ever so much, and he said "you can thank me by coming out for a drink with me some time!" wtf??? he must have been crazy - I certainly wasn't looking my best - not even sure if I had brushed my hair? and I had 5 kids from hell with me .....(don't actually know how the hell he thought I wold be able to go for a drink anyway??)..... He must have been stark raving crazy!! Dh's theory is that he saw the kids and thought I must be sex mad! lol

NL I have worked out that I have spent a grand total of 53 months (4 and a bit years ) bf and approx 3 years and 9 months pg!

Lastly ooogs hhope you are feeling better today. take it easy . x

Sorry for the truly mammoth post! x

NorthernLurker · 05/01/2008 13:29

Oh Caz - sorry about the accident - good no harm was done though.
V impressed with your supermarket experience and also with you breastfeeding/gestating totals - rest assured I will not be trying to surpass them

CaptainDyson · 05/01/2008 13:46

Oh dear about the bump, Caz - hope it isn't to expensive to fix!! Absolutely ROFL @ man in supermarket and your DH's comment - Compliment or what!?

Right, off swimming now .......

fpesha · 05/01/2008 13:57

Caz - lol at being sex mad

MJ - sorry you're having a hard time Agree it is normal to shout at kids for no reason, doesn't make you a bad mummy, just human

Dippy - my potty training tip would be dont do it!! Theres no point trying to force it if she's not ready, you'll just make both of you miserable and make it into a big struggle. I left dd as i was in a b&b with her whilst pg with ds1 and didnt move into new house til 3 weeks before he was born and I just couldnt do it with shared toilets/other people's carpet and then new baby etc. But one day went into town, her nappy was rubbing her thighs, didnt have any more so i just took it off her and that was that! No accidents, nothing! She must have been about 2.10 then. But they'r all ready in their own time and NL (?) was right, nurseries cant discriminate against children in nappies.

Oooggs - go to bed!!! Or take it easy at least, well as much as you can. Thinking of you.

D wont go to sleep!! He normally naps at 12ish but is refusing to give in. He's up there crying and has been for what seems like ages. Its such a tired cry he reallyis so tired but just refusing to give in If I get him up he'll just be clingy and grumpy and miserable though. He only has 1 proper nap a day around 12 for an hour or 2. Sometimes he'll have a little doze on my lap whilst bfing at tea time but thats it. Goes to sleep at night around 8 or 9 and sleeps till around 8am with 1 or 2 feeds in the night/early morning so he really needs a good nap now.

Still crying

NorthernLurker · 05/01/2008 13:58

see this is where you and I are going wrong in supermarkets Dippy - we just don't have enough children with us

fpesha · 05/01/2008 14:24

Just went up to check on D again and in the 15 mins since I'd last checked he'd done a poo so obviously that was the problem. Bad mummy Gave him bf to settle him again and he is now sound asleep. Gonna have quick bath now while I've got the chance.

mammyjo · 05/01/2008 14:27

Me again. I have pulled myself together now. Dh is home from work and has taken F out for a couple of hours, leaving me with the oh so joyful task of taking ds to yet another party. Still, at least I can get a coffee and have a chat with other adults!!

Dh is being totally brilliant, and could see the change in me almost immediately. He was urging me to the doctor before I had even decided there was a problem. He just remembers vividly what a mess I got into the last time Guess I just have to take every day as it comes for a bit, and see what happens. Thankyou all so much for your support xx

NL, you really are the voice of reason on this thread. As usual, words of wisdom Thankyou xx

Oooggs, sorry I made you cry, not my intention. I went and cuddled ds and told him I was sorry and that mummys head was a bit poorly just now. Feel terrible for taking my rage out on him. Not like me at all as I am normally quite laid back and calm. F is not crawling yet, but can wriggle backwards and gets extremely frustrated that she cant go the other way!! Not quite using chopsticks, but she is a determined little madam and am sure she would give it a try!!

Runny, would have called you but had F yelling and ds milling around me so not really a good time to chat! Despite the fact that we have only met a few times, and we really dont know each other that well, you are a very supportive and caring friend. Thankyou

mammyjo · 05/01/2008 14:29

Pesha, glad he has settled

Caz, glad you are ok after your bump. Was very impressed at your timings for bf and pregnancies! Rofl at the man in the supermarket!! Classic!

oooggs · 05/01/2008 14:35

good mj enjoy the party

oooggs · 05/01/2008 14:36

I drove to supermarket, dts fell asleep in car, couldn't park, so just finishing a tesco online shop - just off to see if I can find any 'saving money' codes

fpesha · 05/01/2008 14:39

I know a couple of sites that have tesco codes if you're interested Oooggs?

fpesha · 05/01/2008 14:42

Thought I'd post links anyway as off to have bath now and thought other people might want them too
