Morning
Maveta, this is your fault! It's not N copying T but the other way round

StealthPolarBear · 05/01/2008 05:54

ok off to change nappy & give in to cup of coffee

Maveta · 05/01/2008 07:29

oh spb no I think they were perfectly aligned tonight! N woke up at 1130pm and would not settle so we ended up getting up and watching tv for a bit more with him, changed him nappy, shovelled some cereal into him and then he slept from about 12.30 to 5.30am but we managed to ignore him til 6am. feel surprisingly tired given that we had 5 straight hours is still a novelty.

N still breastfeeds in the morning and before bed but seems to be losing interest.. he often just gets distracted and then gets tempted away by something else and doesn´t want anymore. It´s hard to know if he´s getting enough but I guess if he´s not complaining, is sleeping and has wet nappies, it must be fine? He does have 150ml formula with his cereal morning and evening although he doesn´t always eat it all.. and yoghurts and cheese etc. sometimes seems like he doesn´t drink more than a few minutes and then I can´t really tell if he´s eating.

We have carnival here in february and I have to make N an outfit. Well, I don´t have to but I´ve got one in mind that should be pretty simple and very cute. Although my seamstress skills leave a lot to be desired so don´t hold your collective breath! lol

geordiemacminx · 05/01/2008 07:40

Mornin ladies.

C slept from 6.45 til 7.30.... Not sure whether its switching to formula or the fact that hes proper crawling and using lots of energy... Will get him to send N and T some vibes!!!!

geordiemacminx · 05/01/2008 08:27

Been meaning to mantion for a while, C's cousins bought him one of these for xmas - he absolutely loves it....

Maveta · 05/01/2008 08:51

Hi GMM - that is so cute! N doesn´t have tons of toys at all I mean, he obviously has toys but he´s not drowning in them by any means. His absolute all time favourite is the celebrations tin that I filled with all kinds of tat from around the house; pegs, giant corks, big jar lids, wooden curtain rings, some old tealight holders that are big multicoloured metal. Could play with all that for hours and that realisation somewhat curbed our temptation to buy lots of expensive stuff But I did find a push along car like you linked to which we´ve ordered, think he´ll love that.

He was actually given at birth a ridiculous amount of stuffed toys which he doesn´t pay any attention to.. how old before they actually get into teddies and stuff? I guess they have to be into imaginative play first? Kind of wish I could give half of them away but guess I should wait til he starts picking out favourites first..[such a mean mummy]

geordiemacminx · 05/01/2008 08:57

We kinda went a bit overboard at xmas - as did everyone else in our family - on xmas eve we got all of his stuff out, it covered a 2 seater sofa, and the floor in front of it... Still has about half a dozen things still to open. You are right though, ts thesimple things that see to causethe most enjoyment, I have a box with bits in like that, shells, cork, peg, scone cutter and a bag of chocolate coins - he loves playing with them. Of course the dvd player and the cats bowls are the all time favourites... I just rescued him from the kitchen, picked him up, he had cat food all over his hand - which he smeared all over my face. Bleurgh....

Argh he's just pulled the plug for the tv out of the wall..... if he doesnt end up in A&E soon it wil be a miracle!!!

StealthPolarBear · 05/01/2008 08:58

please gmm sleep vibes would be wonderful
Can you send them first class please?
T went back to sleep at 6.40, woke again at 7, the way he is at the moment that will be his morning nap
cookie monster looks like fun gmm!
maveta you do know you're going to have to post pics of the outfit once he's worn it now, don;t you? That reminds me, need to find a christening outfit for T. Is he too old to be made to wear a dress??

StealthPolarBear · 05/01/2008 09:02

lol at the cat food
Keep boring you all but T's favourite toys are electrical wires and carrier bags!
And bits of paper he can eat. Seemed to enjoy his turkey twizzlers yesterday which makes a nice change [proud] Maveta, I know what you mean about stuffed toys, I also have loads, there are a couple of boxes going in the loft until he's older

Maveta · 05/01/2008 09:03

yes GMM - sleep vibes very much appreciated! lol

SPB - no way is he too old..do it do it do it And yes, if I get around to making the outfit I promise to post photos. though at the rate I move, he´ll be wearing his m&s reindeer outfit from xmas

Maveta · 05/01/2008 09:05

yay on the turkey twizzlers spb! I´m going to have a bash at the kidney bean kievs for real, could be yummy. I made lentil bolognaise the other day, accidentally used dry lentils instead of canned so we have a veritable vat of the stuff. Going to get handy and stuff cannelonis with it today. I´ll let you know...

StealthPolarBear · 05/01/2008 09:09

yes I was doing the kidney bean kievs as well! And have a few more recipes, but all seem to involve breadcrumbs so need to wait for the bread to go stale!
(have a funny feeling real cooks don't have this problem )

geordiemacminx · 05/01/2008 09:11

We NEED to see pics Maveta.

M&P do christening robes SPB?

I can kinda see why they have no interest in cuddly toys to be honest - its not like they do anything is it? C isnt interested in anythng that he cant shake/bash/throw. I dont think boys will ever be that "into" cuddly toys to be honest - maybe one or 2 favourites?

Maveta · 05/01/2008 09:22

I agree GMM - actually I think I might stick them all in the loft aswell, they annoy me cluttering up his room..

SPB - you should live here, the sliced bread is practically stale when you buy it! lol although I´m just going to use shop bought.. much easier..

mammyjo · 05/01/2008 09:27

Hi all. Just popping by quickly. Havent caught up properly, but wanted to say that Oooggs I have been thinking about you. Hope you are doing ok xxx

Ds has only (in the last 6 months) got a favourite cuddly toy and he will be 5 in May. He has got stacks of them that he never ever bothers with Am loathed to get rid of them, but tbh I really dont think he would miss any of them, except his special teddy!

I am feeling a bit down lately, was really starting to wonder if my pnd was appearing (I had it with ds). Anyway, saw gp yesterday. She stopped some tablets I was taking, as one of the side effects of them is depression. She said if it is down to them, then I should feel better within a fortnight, so we shall see. Hate feeling like this, and would not wish it on anyone as it is so vile and miserable.

Take care all xxx

Sexonlegs · 05/01/2008 09:50

Hi MJ. Lovely to see you. Hope you feel brighter soon. xx

Cuddly toys are a pain I have to say. B does go through phases of playing with them. Has Tea Parties with them which is quite sweet. We have a play tent in her room and they are all bunged in there!

Hope everyone is ok today and had good nights.

Right, need to have a shower. See y'all later. x

CaptainDyson · 05/01/2008 10:27

Hope stopping these tabs improves your mood, MJ, you poor thing. {{{{hugs}}} xx

Morning! House seems so bare without the Christmas decs , quite glad the putting them away bits is all done & dusted though Just got cards to take down now and take them to local recycling depot thingy. DH taking Christmas tree to recycling place in a mo- once he has actually got his arse in gear.

I cannot potty train DD2 - she just has no concept - she is desperate to wear "Big Girl" knickers, but just poo's and wee's in them without any concept of the fact she is going - she v.rarely askes to go to the loo - I am getting so & about it - Any tips?? Sigh. She is 2.8 yrs and going to start Pre-School the week after next - argh!!

NorthernLurker · 05/01/2008 10:39

Do you want to know how old dd1 was when she was potty trained Dippy?

Ok - brace yourself - 3yrs 5 months!

And up to that point she never and I mean never did anything in a potty or loo - not once. I got so frustrated I made her sit for 45 minutes once but still nothing then one day whilst I was talking on the phone to the plumber she did a wee in the loo and that was it - we were sorted, never had any accidents, dry at night almost at the same time.

Don#'t worry about pre-school - I'm sure they aren't allowed to discriminate against children not in pants - have they said anything about nappies?

oooggs · 05/01/2008 10:40

mammyjo - I have been thinking of you too and meaning to text but time is whizzing by.

sorry I didn't post a report last night but the nurse rang back and wanted me to speak to DR. So he then rang me and I was told 'bed rest or addmission to hospital!!!!' so dh packed me off to bed (too worried that I may go to hospital and prefer it there ) the bleeding subsided and I am not worried anymore as I know how to control it. I also asked the dr if I should take iron tablets as I have loads (3 a day for a month worth) in the cupboard - so I self subscribed them - he agreed

menu planning - anyone have a chart etc... to get me going?

at your boss maveta - that is bullying

ellie - sorted a car yet?

runny - well done you on your letter

can't remember who (maybe gmm) but dts are always disconnecting the tv dangerous & very naughty and just laugh at me - hence my post a couple of weeks ago about a cabinet which I still haven't done anything about
