FairyFay · 03/01/2008 10:34

thanks jammy

foxythesnowman · 03/01/2008 10:59

Sounds like a top plan FF!

Have to admit, rather enjoyed having 4 under the weather children over Christmas made for lots of cosying up and movies and no fighting.

They have all gone back to school, DD1 is at Nursery and LO is in bed.

Tree is down. I had to fight back tears! What a looooooser!

sputnik · 03/01/2008 11:02

M&S do some organc cotton stuff for lo's no?

Bear wth me 'm usng my old laptop wth dodgy eyboard

Someone gave us a Baby Ensten dvd - never bought one as they're bloody $$$$ but have to say both dCs love t.

sputnik · 03/01/2008 11:08

Don't now f t's expandng ther mnds but t's better than gn and opum.

Are they bac at school there? have to confess 'm not sure when DD starts bac as they ddn't tell us dates and dD was sc last few days so couldn't as

foxythesnowman · 03/01/2008 11:23

LOL at your dodgy keyboard - is that 'gin and opium'/

Some are back today, others on Monday. Stupid day to go back if you ask me. Tis getting cold here, what's it like there Spudnik?

foxythesnowman · 03/01/2008 11:23

Sputnik, even.

andiemustlosehalfastonemore · 03/01/2008 11:51

morning all found you dh back at work here too ds 1 not at school till mon
doing chores this morning vv boring

my car has been written off but they gave me a good price for it prob is my new one won't be delivered till end of march so we are going to have to think about that one
not sure we can manage 3 months with one car as dh drives to work

I looked at bumpers thread too but since I have just ordered new car and booked flights to aus for next xmas I am definitely out also love a starbucks

andiemustlosehalfastonemore · 03/01/2008 11:51

foxy am vv dissapointed the snow hasn't arrived

foxythesnowman · 03/01/2008 12:08

Is it on its way do you think?

Ohh, Aus, where are you goind? You aren't Aussie are you? Is DH?

LittleMissNorty · 03/01/2008 12:08

Afternoon all

Either some of you have got dodgy keyboards or I am more knackered than I realsied

I couldn't last a day without a car, let alone 3 months ....what are you going to do Andie? I'd have to get something to keep me going!

Its snowing here and beginning to lay on my garden.......

LittleMissNorty · 03/01/2008 12:09

oh god....its infectious - realised I meant

thisisRialifebaby · 03/01/2008 12:12

We have snow. As I was awake most of the night I was checking it's progress fairly regularly. I did go to bed before 1am, but baggins didn't settle til 1.30, then I couldn't sleep. Bugger.

I think that was the thing jammy, bumpers original post was very inspiring but it seemed to get a bit as it went on. (dur, can't think of the word I want to use[blush).

On the subject of knitting though, I got a gorgeous hand-knitted scarf for xmas from my friend, it is a bit "emu-like" in texture and I saw a kit in a shop the other day and wondered if I would be able to make one for my sisters birthday. How difficult is it to knit a scarf? I can cast in and off but have tension issues!

OP posts:
thisisRialifebaby · 03/01/2008 12:14

cast ON.

silly moo. lack of sleep reigns...
Also DSs yelling about going out in the snow for hours.

OP posts:
andiemustlosehalfastonemore · 03/01/2008 12:53

I got needles and a stich and bitch learn how to knit book for xmas ria we could have a thread scarf that we all did a bit if

foxy we have good friends and family in aus so we are flying into melbourne going down the great ocean road for a few days then driving to canberra spending xmas there and then spending new year in sydney phew stopping in singapore one way hong kong the other we are taking ds1 out of school for the last week as they do f*ck all anyway

norty what we are thinking of doing is asking the vw garage who we are ordering my new car from to sell us a secondhand one until my new one arrives and give us a guaranteed trade in price for it so we only lose about £500 does that make sense
the insurance have given me £1300 more than the part x price I was quoted for my car so we have done well out of the write off the only pain is now not having a car

milkyJammy · 03/01/2008 12:54

we have no snow as yet, but sky looks like it could happen any time. I hate getting about in snow, but at least this year have the pushchair to hold onto

Been to the docs this am, am back on the ADs But she was very nice and reminded me of all the things I can do to help myself

andiemustlosehalfastonemore · 03/01/2008 13:01

aah jammy hope the ads will help you feel better and the gp was nice
no snow here yet

thisisRialifebaby · 03/01/2008 13:08

jammy. don't forget we're here to listen.

love your name andiem. wouldn't they give you a courtesy car? sounds like a good plan though. I used to work for a certain rural insurance company so I'm not very keen on insurance companies in general (I even have exams in it)

I am off snow now cos I wanted to go out walking today and it's too damned cold and wet and everyone is grumpy. Ironing it is, when I get dressed (LO has been so clingy and DH has been busy...)

OP posts:
thisisRialifebaby · 03/01/2008 13:09

forgot to say - La Redoute have quite a pleasant little sale on.

OP posts:
FairyFay · 03/01/2008 13:09

I want snow here too.

Sorry to hear about car andiem - what a pain
Jammy - hope the ADs help quickly and am glad the GP was understanding.

Very dull day here, we are waiting for the Ikea delivery man with my new storage units - part of my resolution to be more organised and for the house to look less cluttered. I have also sorted my first bin bag full of stuff for the charity shop, so am feeling a bit virtuous

FairyFay · 03/01/2008 13:10

btw, andiem I'm [ency] that you've only got another 1/2 stone to go - you've done really well. I really must try and find my motivation - maybe it's hidden amongst all my clutter

FairyFay · 03/01/2008 13:11

ency, wtf is ency?? I meant

andiemustlosehalfastonemore · 03/01/2008 13:28

tbh fairy I could do with losing a bit more but half a stone seems achievable

foxythesnowman · 03/01/2008 13:29

and I am of your aus trip!

Don't worry FF, I've not started dieting yet. Infact I'm off to eat Christmas pudding right now. Can't even blame left-overs I bought yesterday - reduced yummmmmmmm.

Where's our snow then?

sputnik · 03/01/2008 13:44

Hope you start to feel better soon Jammy wth the ads

pretty cold here but no sgn of snow atm. am soooo glad we got double glazng put n last year - at least the house s tollerably warm as oposed to havng gales ragng through. houses here are not made for cold weather.

Andem as the only one of us that has sucessfully lost weght (congratulatons btw) you should really come and motvate us

LittleMissNorty · 03/01/2008 13:49

Jammy - but glad you've been and got some ADs....it will hopefully help you getting back to work as well....don't think I could've gone back without mine

god, just been to Sainsburys and they've got LOADS of discounts and came home with £41 of food....only went for mushrooms....got mince pies and all sorts ....looked at the SW mag and put it back down ...how fat do I have to get before I can motivate myself to do something about it?
