vino - can't believe you aren;t finding out the sex! I can't even leave dh's christmas presents alone if I don't know what they are!! I respect your ability to last 9 months without knowing.

I probably won't be a bout for a couple of days cos of work, so can I wish Freddie and Isabel happy first birthdays (a little early I know, but I don't want to miss it)!!!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY FREDDIE (hope you are okay Shimmer havent seen you for a while)

The girls both slept all night, I think it was teh piriton keeping Hattie awake as didnt give it to her last night and she slept

Ellie back to school today [phew] Hattie and I are going to got to B&Q to look at paint samples for Ellies bedroom and then I am making a huge effort to come home and actually play with her for a bit as she seems to get left alone a lot lately.

Bunny I didnt find out when expecting Ellie and I am the worst at surprises but DH very adament he didnt want to know, she was a huge surprise as we were convinced she was a boy (I'd even bought a pack of blue sleepsuits I was that convinced) DH didnt want to find out with H and I did, when we went to scan I didnt ask but he did, he was desperate for a boy and it tooka few weeks to sink in we were having another girl. Actually am glad we have girls now and if we ever had another (which would be acciently ) I am fairly convinced it would be another pink one!!!

Happy Birthday to Freddie too - have a good day Shimmer.

Wilkie - have I read this wrong or is J speaking and his 1st word was b*tch?!

  • one of my sisters DT's first word was "shit" - I thought this was amusing at the time, but slightly worried now that DJ's will be something even worse, as DP has a mouth like a sewer.

Hope everyone is well.
x

Lizzzombie · 08/01/2008 09:33

Oh - btw - Lth we are off to Treasure Island on Jan 20th to celebrate DJ's birthday. If you are free do come along too! Cath will be there with her adorable little girl Amy.

ladytophamhatt · 08/01/2008 09:35

will try and make it Lizz, what time will you be there?

Lizzzombie · 08/01/2008 09:37

ooh - cool. erm, havent sorted details yet. Am thinking early afternoon. 2pm ish? Will check its definately open later on and confirm this though.
(my mum is making birthday cake as I am too slack!)

susiecutiemincepies · 08/01/2008 11:53

Glad Its not just me on the birthday cake slackness! My mum is making 2 for isobel. We are having a really little tea party tomorrow, as Dh cannot be here. I dont want to do anything too much without him here. SO mum and a couple of friends are coming over to just mark the occasion. Saturday, we are having a few more friends over for a proper party for her.

We are going to have the usual party nibbly bits, and a cake, again! I just feel terrible that DH not here. I dont want him to feel he's missing anything either, so I think pressies will be on saturday too. Mum has got one for each day!

we haven't had a chance to get her anything yet, so will be going on thursday or friday when he's home. NO idea what to get her! She got a fair few toys for christmas, and I know mum has got her some more. Any ideas girls? we considered maybe getting her something she can keep, like a charm bracelet, we can add to. Not to wear, but to just keep, that we have given her and added to over the years. What have you/ are you doing for pressies?

any ideas, greatly received!

hope you are all well.

ladytophamhatt · 08/01/2008 12:39

Actually Lizz, I might have to retract my "i'll be there" post because I think ds3 has chicken pox...which means ds4 will have it soon too.

FGS, thats Dh, ds1, ds2 and ds4 with thsi sick bug thing and now chicken pox for them too.

I might chane m,y name to Matron or something.

ladytophamhatt · 08/01/2008 12:41

Susie, we've got Ds4 one of these.

The cow one....

Lizzzombie · 08/01/2008 12:45

Susie - a charm bracelet is a lovely idea, if I had a DD I'd get her that, especially with her birthday so near to xmas. (less big toys to take over your house!)

We are getting DS this

Lth - omg you poor thing! By all means...stay away! Hope you don't catch it.

eandh · 08/01/2008 12:55

lth dd1 had cp over xmas and hatte has it now (much miuch worse than ellie so be warned aparently the 2ns one gets more of the virus) for Ellie we used eurax cream which was brilliant at stopping the itching (and piriton syrup at night) cant use eurax on lo's so used aquaeous calamine but the piriton made her hyper so used medised at night (sorry as a mum of 4 you probably know all of that)

Love the wheelybug and charm bracelet both girls got charm bracelets for their christenings, and the person who gave it to them buys them a charm for birthdays, a local jeweller solders them for £2 and I have kept a list of which charm was given each birthday. We gave them a white gold bracelet with their names engraved for each of their 1st birthdays, which they can wear for parties etc when they get a bit older

laughalot · 08/01/2008 13:49

Ooops new pics on profile not very exciting

susiecutiemincepies · 08/01/2008 16:57

Girls I've blatantly come on on here for sympathy so please lavish me with loads....

I have had an accident today. Involving washing up a glass, stuffing a cloth into it to clean it, and the glass breaking and taking an enormous chunk out of my knuckle.

Just got back from A&E had 7 stitches and a very large padded bandage over it. I cant use it at all for 7 days It HURTS so bloody much. every time i move it even the small amount the bandage allows, its excruciating. I could just see the tendon and was incredibly lucky it didnt get damaged. I bled like a stuck pig, Isobel was horrifed at all this bright liquied pouring out of my hand.

Thank god i didnt damage the tendon, and thank god DH is home thursday. I cant wash or change isobel i dont think. I mean, how do you change a nappy with one hand? or put clothes on a wriggly baby?

sorry for the blatant sympathy post but i'm blooming fed up. You might see me post this elsewhere too... just feel so alone right now. luckily mum has taken isobel for a few hours and will bring her home and put her to bed. They gave me a shot of morphine, in addition to what i already take, so should help a bit. sorry again

Oh and thanks for the ideas re her pressie. Just spoke to DH and we've decided on the charm bracelet. Were going to get one for her baptism, but didnt ever manage it. I also really love the idea of a bracelet with her name on it though... hmmm, now you have me thinking. maybe we should do both ,and the charm one can be the baptism gift as planned, and we can add to it for her b-day as well as a name bracelet. hmmm, thank you!! what great ideaas!!!!

sorry again for the moaning mini post.

susiecutiemincepies · 08/01/2008 17:01

laughalot LOVING your pics!!! what a gorgous smily girl! isobel is like that, never stop smiling. She's such a happy girl, and i often wonder why, when our live just arent very exciting as i just cant get out enough with her. She is so content though, so i must be doing something ok.

i ought to put some up to date colour pics of Izzy on my profile . Her hair is really growing fast, and is the most beautiful strawberry blonde colour, though flame red in some lights

susiecutiemincepies · 08/01/2008 17:06

LTH i really wanted to get one of those wheelybugs for Izzy for christmas, but mum had already bought her a lion walk/push/ride on from ELC Its fab actually. She loves it. she walks up and down the living room and kitchen looking very pleased with herself. even if she looks like something out of the ministry for silly walks

she also loves sitting on it and being pushed around. she sits so straight and perfectly, holding on with both hands, its a scream to watch! bless her.

eandh · 08/01/2008 17:50

Ooohhh poor you susie that sounds so painful and what a pita with LO your Mum sounds fab (where are you again I've forgotton dont think you are near me otherwise I'd offer to help)

Wilkie · 08/01/2008 18:38

Susie - MASSIVE sympathies here from me - I did EXACTLY the same thing last year on New Year's Day with a wine glass (to add insult to injury I hadn't even been drinking as I was ready to pop with J). Bleurgh. Nearly fainted. Still have long scar across my knuckle. You poor thing - it is horrible. They didn't stitch mine but glued it which didn't work.

Lizz - Nooooooooooooo, J's first word wasn't beeatch. That is what Hattie is to J - his 'beaatch'. His first words are Ta, This, Pppppp for Poppy (our cat) and I am certain he said 'More' tonight when his choc horlicks was finished

LTH - bummer re c/pox although Lizz, I would go and rub Dylan up and down him in the hope that he catches it

Vino - have you felt LO kicking yet? SO exciting!!!!!!!!!

Bunny - we didn't find out sex with J which was fantastic but I think we will this time round cos I will need to get my head round it if it is another boy (which I am convinced it will be anyway)

J has his jabs tomorrow but my BF and her LO are coming too as there is only a week between them and she is at the same GP as me so we will have them both done and then console them all afternoon together

ladytophamhatt · 08/01/2008 19:15

Wilkiw, is there something I've missed or you wantto tell us??

"we didn't find out sex with J which was fantastic but I think we will this time round"

Wellll.....???
