This really made me laugh, sounds like something J would do!!

runnyhabbit · 21/12/2007 15:54

Know what you mean about the walking. ben my excuse to do everything online!

Have got some lovely party heels, but before I put them on, I'm thinking can I take them off when I get there, or at least sit down.
Kinda ruins the effect

As for presents - I do the full on bow thing for Birthdays, Anniversarys etc
Just not Christmas

And besides, W would eat the ribbon

runnyhabbit · 21/12/2007 15:56

Am going to pick the boys up

And the best news-
Dh is about an hour away from home, then he's off til 2nd Jan
So excited

Laters peeps
xx

AngeGabriel · 21/12/2007 15:56

I'll let you into a secret........I don't do full on bow thing with

Idreamofchocolate · 21/12/2007 16:00

Ah yes, the wrapping. Sitting here thinking I really should get on with mine, but just can't seem to get in the right frame of mind. Will wait until DCs in bed and I can have a wee drinky whilst doing it.

Runny - thanks for the goat too! I love those sort of presents. We have got my MIL a goat from Oxfam (to kind of balance out the other stuff we've got her I guess). No idea what she's going to think about it .

I can't bring myself to comment on the NB situation. So, sorry KHIN, I just can't bring myself to have any sympathy right now.

AngeGabriel · 21/12/2007 16:01

what was that post
What I meant was I don't do bows and ribbons for Christmas presents either

Fantastic Runny that's great!

Hope you're wrapping presents NL!!!

NorthernLurkerwithastarontop · 21/12/2007 16:04

Errrrm - yes Ange - well I was making a plan - just off now

AngeGabriel · 21/12/2007 16:07

Hi IDOC A drink while wrapping pressies sounds lovely. Have you got a lot left to do?

Well done NL

Idreamofchocolate · 21/12/2007 16:16

Oh yes Ange, lots and lots. DH working right up until Christmas eve, so I know I've really got to crack on with them as he'll not have the time to help. Am really going to have to make some headway tonight.

On a happy note, Em's school had their Christingle service at the church near her school this morning. Those pesky little tears kept making thier appearances every time a Christmas carol was sung (Em is in the choir so that makes it worse). Luckily I have long enough hair to hide them with. I was talking to the vicar before the service and was just thinking 'now where do I know you from, have I just seen you around, or have I attended one of your services elsewhere or something?'. Eventually one of the mums put me right - she is this lovely lady. She was fab too!

AngeGabriel · 21/12/2007 16:20

Oh I love those services, children singing christmas carols (especially Away in a Manger) always make me cry.

Good luck with the wrapping. My Dh will be working Christmas eve as well, no choice as he runs his own business.

Idreamofchocolate · 21/12/2007 16:24

'Little Donkey' always makes me cry, especially the 'ring out the bells' bit. Really reminds me of my childhood as that was always one of my favourites.

NorthernLurkerwithastarontop · 21/12/2007 16:34

Moving on to dh for a minute but my leg has gone to sleep

NorthernLurkerwithastarontop · 21/12/2007 17:41

Hi SOL - how is K today?

Octo · 21/12/2007 17:53

Hello all - quickie
welcome ellesbelles
hope you are okay ellie
disappointed in Nutty
crying baby ....

Sexmasonlegs · 21/12/2007 18:01

Hi NL, K still not right. No more sick, but nappies pretty yukky. Supposed to be going to my aunties 65th birthday party tomorrow which we have been looking forward to for months, but now not sure if we will be able to go . It was going to be Katies first introduction to lots of the family as well.

How is the wrapping going? Had to laugh at "getting over the hump"!!

Hi Octo.

NorthernLurkerwithastarontop · 21/12/2007 18:06

I've stopped now till girls in bed (wrapping) - sorry to hear K's not right - I would go to the party though - as long as you do the nappies I don't think you're likely to spread the bug really. Actually the nappies could even be teething - Miranda - my dd1 - was awful that way! She would be so mortified if she knew I'd just put that little tit bit on the www

Octo · 21/12/2007 18:08

Hello ((waves)))

Have read more now - Runny - that was a lovely thing to do - I love goats

KHIN - I felt the email was a really good thing to do but was disappointed with her posting it on mn not her apology. I'm not really sure where this is going but hope she has a lovely christmas and gets to sort her life out.

crying baby again ...!

NorthernLurkerwithastarontop · 21/12/2007 18:10

Keep forgetting to say - B 'talks' as well - most clearly something on the lines of 'hiya dada' - to dh of course - I get the 'hiya' noise as well - but no extras! Typical!

She is moving all over now - it's a nightmare!

iMustBeMad · 21/12/2007 18:16

Hi all, I've been shopping
Your amazing gift has been a lifesaver, as I'll have no car for a while Andy took me shopping and I have stocked the cupboards/fridge/freezer, bought a few stocking fillers for the boys and dvds for me, and still only used one of the cards

We went to look at the car, there is a photo on my profile of last night, and it was bad. I am incredibly lucky to have walked away without serious injury or worse . I cried, it finally hit me just how serious it was, and my gran said today that she was really upset when she heard my dad say the word 'accident', she was thinking the boys would be without me

Not a great believer in 'something out there' I must say, but I am feeling truly blessed right now

NorthernLurkerwithastarontop · 21/12/2007 18:20

IMBM - that is a scary picture. So glad you had a good shopping trip and are set for a bit. I do hope you and your lovely boys have a wonderful time this Christmas.
