tyg, have a peek on the 'this is what we got'

My grandad died about half an hour ago

camerYULEmama · 18/12/2007 19:04

April so sorry. x

AChristmasMeadow · 18/12/2007 20:24

Thanks Cam and also to SOH who mailed me. Just had to call my bro in Thailand (on hols) to tell him and am yet to tell my sis as she has just come out of knee surgery!

StarlightStarbrightSKYTVtonite · 18/12/2007 20:39

April - so sorry to hear that

Where is this "this is what I got thread"?. I can't find it.

Been away from PC for a couple of days as am really tired and busy. Not got pressies wrapped yet so need to make a big effort over the next couple of days.

DDs new bed being delivered tomorrow so have to stay in all day probably so might get some done then.

Lupins71 · 18/12/2007 21:46

April so sorry, big hugs to you

Lupins71 · 18/12/2007 21:50

I have just finished wrapping all the pressies , I like doing it but it seemed to take ages this year, I think cos I usually do it with mum but she was up a week earlier than usual this year

Sky I hae to wait in tomorro as well dd's rocking horse from nanny arriving weds or thurs, also got to wait for gas man as we have no pilot light still grrrrrrr, going to try and clear the mountain of ironing

Thought I had lost all the dogs pressies but luckily found them buried in my wardrobe

Missed out on the powertrack, went sky high at the last minute, oh well back to searching

Pebblemum · 19/12/2007 00:29

AM sorry to hear about your Grandad {{hugs}}

Thanks to ds2 I now have all the presents wrapped although it did take 4hrs to get them all done. he insisted on wrapping a few all by himself but luckily they were ones for dh and Alana so it doesnt matter that they look a mess, dh will be pleased that ds2 made the effort. I know what you mean though Lupins, my wrapping is usually all done within a few hours, this year Ive had to do a bit here and there and its taken ages.

Ive got to stay in tomorrow as well Lupins and Sky. Ive got my new mobile being delivered sometime between 8am and 6pm. Had really been hoping to pop to Iceland while ds2 was at pre-school so I could get a few bits without him moaning but you can bet the phone wont turn up until its too late

I only want a couple of things from Iceland the rest is from Tesco so I have talked dh into popping in there on his way home from work at 1.30am Thursday, hopefully it wont be too busy then. He will be under strict instructions to stick to my list though as he has a habit of buying crap that we dont need. I dont think I could face dragging the two ds's and A around a busy Tesco's during the day, what a nightmare that would be.

MKG · 19/12/2007 03:13

April I'm so sorry for your loss. I know how hard it is to lose someone this time of year.

MKG · 19/12/2007 03:13

Lupins--I emailed you.

largevirginbirthandtonic · 19/12/2007 07:27

So sorry AM, hope you managed to reach everyone xxx

AChristmasMeadow · 19/12/2007 09:03

Managed to get hold of my bro and my sis had been asking my dad how g'dad was and dad lied to her as she had had a bad reaction to the general. Thought it best to tell her today but as she was paranoid she rang the care home who told her.

OK, WHO STOLE MY BOOBS!! Woke up this morning and they have gone....... am gutted!

Ella was up for an hour from about 3am with a really nasty cough.

Pebblemum · 19/12/2007 09:22

Morning all

I would like to pick your brains. J has delivered what looks like a cold sore although it seems to have spread all around the left hand corner of his mouth overnight, really does look disgusting. What would you recommend to get rid of it and is there any miracle cure that will make it vanish within a day or so? (we are going to see an old friend on Friday and lots of pics will be taken) J is feeling very self concious of it but i dont want to waste money buying stuff from the chemist that doesnt actually work.

Alana actually went to bed at 8pm last night and apart from the odd squeak she slept right through until 8.30am

Have checked my phones delivery status and as of 4.27am it was in Southampton (only 20mins away) but you can bet my address will be the last on the list lol. I hate waiting in for things

largevirginbirthandtonic · 19/12/2007 09:43

Pebble it sounds like Impetigo, incredibly contagious. Unsightly but harmless, no miracle cure i'm afraid, it can take weeks to go Sorry for little J. Keep his towels seperate and he MUST not pick, it spreads like wildfire.

Lupins71 · 19/12/2007 09:48

Pebble hope you manage to get out today, we are going to morrisons on friday for last shop, would like to say i dont need much but once dp starts seeing nice cheese ect the trolley will fill up quite quickly no doubt, how about trying some vaseline it could just be really dry skin, willow has extremely dry sore skin around her eyes and lips atm - looks lovely (not) i have been using my old tube on lansinoh stuff, has worked a treat - havent dare tell her its actually for sore cracked boobs lol!!

AM I think its the boob fairies, they take them overnight and deliver them to pg ladies who wake up and find a fab pair on thier chest

OMG HES UNDER THE TREE TRYING TO GET PRESSIES BRB!!

Right that sorted, today im going to try and catch up on some housework, if little tike lets me, have a good day all

oh and i got all the wrapping done, except for one pressie which isnt finished yet - and my own which havent even been bought yet

elkiedee · 19/12/2007 11:07

April, sorry to see your news - it came up on "threads I'm on"

StarlightStarbrightSKYTVtonite · 19/12/2007 11:09

Morning all

Haven't even thought about last food shop yet! Will probably send DP to Tesco on xmas eve .

Bed has been delivered but because the biggest box was over 50kilos they couldn't take it upstairs

Have to go to DD1s xmas fayre this afternoon. Have just found out raffle tickets are £5 a strip. Now, not sure about you, but I think thats a bit on the pricey side!

Better get on as sitting here is not getting anything done.

Oh, C also poorly - very snotty and coughy. Going to buy medised when in town later - never used it before but it sounds like a miracle!

twasthenightbeforechristmouse · 19/12/2007 11:31

AM so sorry to hear about your Grandad.

SKY Huge congratulations, another one who is a bit here.

Ok have now caught up here but am yet to revisit old thread.

Feel like all I do is moan these days have had a crap few weeks. Been referred for back/shoulder pain and went for physio this week only to be told I have pulled/torn a disc in my neck. Ouch.

Also went in for meeting at work a fortnight ago to be told they are shutting down the centre where I work. Part of me thinks don't worry you can maybe become a SAHM and then I see my bank balance and realise no can do. I should have a job for the next year (not due back until April 2008) as they wind down all the current business but still a big .

I am also really excited about christmas this year as DD has really got the idea this time. I can't help but feel shitty that there should be 3 DCs here though. Also an extra bod down round the table as my Grandma died just after B.

Me and DH usually have all my grandparents round for lunch and since 2004 our christmas guests have been dwindling but we have added in the ones left behind like my Mum and DH Dad otherwise they would be on their own. My remaining Grandma will prob be her last Christmas as she is an ill woman and is basically staying alive by sheer will and determination. Bless her. DH and I have said we will probably go away next Christmas as a change of scene.

DH also fell out with his dad a fortnight since and they have not spoken since, he is coming to us for christmas lunch. Ho Ho Ho!

I am also wondering what to do for B, I think I will take him a pressy and a small tree or wreath or something. I feel each month when G is the next month old how great he is x months but then I feel crappy as it reminds me how many months since B died.

God I bet you've missed me haven't you prophet of doom and gloom that I am.

G is getting weighed again today as last week he had only put on 3 oz in 5 weeks. HV should be here any minute now. I have been a bit remiss in his weaning but have really got on with it this last week, he just hadn't seemed ready before. Bless him he doesn't even sit up yet on his own. He weighed 12lb 13oz last week so hopefully a marked gain by today.

DH is still driving so there is hope although he still has yet to drive himself and DD in to work/nursery. If she is at nursery then I have to drive.

The house should be ready early Feb and have posted some pics to let you have a nosey. (although not sure if christmas name links up properly).

Please don't feel ypu have to post just getting it all off my chest has helped.

Hope all of you who have been poorly or have poorly little ones are okay and agree with LGT it sounds like impetigo you can get some cream from the GP to help clear it up but it is highly contagious. DD had it earlier in the year and ended up with it on her mouth, nose, thumb, both legs, elbow and bottom. G had it on his mouth and back of his head where DD kissed him.

StarlightStarbrightSKYTVtonite · 19/12/2007 11:40

CM so sorry to hear about your job. Come on here to moan any time. It must be really difficult for you. I can't even think of words to say, sorry - thinking of you though.

Not been very well here as I was really sick and had diarohea (SP?) on saturday night and it seems to have taken me forever to get over. I am very concerned as it doesn't seem to have been a bug because no one else in the family has had it so it must have been something I ate. Just another little thing to worry about. I hope it doesn't affect the lo but you never know!

Had my 40th birthday on Monday but as I felt so rough it seems to have passed in a blur. DP bought me a day at Eden Hall spa which we will now hopefully have to change to a beautiful bump day.

StarlightStarbrightSKYTVtonite · 19/12/2007 11:43

Pebblemum - 4got to say - sounds like impetigo to me too. Good luck.

twasthenightbeforechristmouse · 19/12/2007 11:54

Cheers SKY sorry you had a crappy rough birthday. A day at the spa sounds great. Belated congratulations.

On a positive note I have lost over a stone in weight. Probably down to DH saying no more kids then relenting and saying we would discuss after I had lost 3 stone. Have got very fat recently.

Hence 1 stone down 2 to go. That'll teach him to set me a challenge when there is something I really want. I think that was why I was reluctant to wean G I wanted him to stay a baby forever as I thought he was the last. Still no sign of AF though. Sorry if TMI.

largevirginbirthandtonic · 19/12/2007 12:54

CM!!! How lovely to hear from you, so sorry to hear you are down. It must truly be the most awful situation to be in, loving seeing little G grow in to a strong healthy boy while tearing your heart out over losing little B. I have no idea how you manage. Putting a Xmas wreath on little B's grave sounds like a lovely idea, he can share in Xmas with you all too that way.

Your DD will be the main focus this year i expect, they sort of take over and even if you are feeling sad she will cheer you no end with her Xmas excitement

Excellent news on the weight loss, keep going. We need a few more babies to keep the new postnatal thread going, i myself am trying very hard Lots of love to you my sweet xxxx

MKG · 19/12/2007 14:56
