AChristmasMeadow · 16/12/2007 10:22

i am off to my sil in watford...... about as much fun as putting pins in your eyes!

AChristmasMeadow · 16/12/2007 18:50

Cam how did it go?

AChristmasMeadow · 16/12/2007 18:52

Went to sil with all dh's brothers for what we thought was lunch. No food at all was offered and we were there from 12pm to 3pm. Had to ask for something for ds as i didnt think a selection of sweets and chox were classed as a balanced meal

Boobs are on the verge of exploding, had to express to take away some of the discomfort.

Feeling very tired and could quite happily curl up and go to sleep [yawn]

cameroonmama · 16/12/2007 19:30

OMG I am soooooooo tired. It went really well thanks, but had the whole family here yesterday some 12 adults and 3 kids, i fed them all, my dsis slept on the floor with her bf and it was a race to the shower this morning to get out the door by 8.45am. Of course the dc chose today to wake up MUCH later than normal . J was a poppet as always even though it was his normal nap time. His starring moment was trying to eat the vicars tiny microphone - which made all the children chuckle and he didn't even notice the water on his head My dsis got on my nerves, but hey ho that's what families are for.

April, I can't beleive you weren't offered any food poor wee Jack, but bravo Ella long may it continue.

Happy Birthday C, how did the party go? Did you manage the train cake? I hope you are not still feeling too rotten Abby, brrrrrr a cold house, yeuk, I hope its soon fixed.

Right, I'm away to try and download some photos.

juliewoolie · 16/12/2007 20:55

evenin all.

how was the party are you feeling better Abby hope you have heat again tis bloody freezing.

Oh AM isnt that bloody typical I hope you managed to get a little something on the way home.

Cam how lovely for you all, I bet you are over the moon to have your DH home.

LUPS you are mad staying up so late and then having to get uo so early with the LO's I would be a zombie.

Pretty good weekend here went out for a long and boozy lunch with all my old NY crowd who most have moved back in the last year and a couple are over for the holidays. Was lovely A was pretty good considering he was manhandled all arvo and is coming down with a lurgy and had no sleep.

Been sorting out the begining of our Chrimbo cook out today went to costco and stocked up on drinks french breads etc and managed to get a lovely ham and turkey crown.

AM LG&T those of you who have finished with boobing recently hows it going? I gave A his last BF this morning and although my boobs feel okish tonight they will be bloody painful tom morning. Do I express a bit off or hang fire and see what happens? I was wondering whether I just let A feed off them in the am and just do it real slow with just the morning feed for a week then stop altogether at the end of the week.

Any advice gratefully recieved.

Oh also does anyone have a good ham recipie was thinking of doing Nigellas ham in coke?

AChristmasMeadow · 16/12/2007 23:43

Hey Julie, boobs are soooo sore that i had to express just a small amount to make the pain go. I am still feeding in the morning but will have probably given that up in the next week or two. I do feel sad that i have almost stopped bf but if it means that she sleeps through then its definately the right thing to do. And i figured that i have done it for 8mths and thats about 7mths longer than ds got. Dont want to express too much as it will mean that i am producing that same amount, but just a small amount should be ok..... LG&T how long did your boobies hurt?

largevirginbirthandtonic · 17/12/2007 08:09

Ham in Coke!!!! It is staple in this house, use FULL FAT coke though.

I have let B feed in the night, either before bed or last feeds. He had to have a bottle last night too, but it has taken a week for it to tail off. It was only bad for 3 days and now im in normal bras!!!!!!!!

Abby hope you are ok.

AM buggeration to the family...

Lups KK yumness

cAM so glad it was a success and you have DH home, must be lovely. Pics soon please

juliewoolie · 17/12/2007 08:26

ooh one boob killing me this morning. Have let A have 5 mins on each to make them feel a bit better. Will keep doing this for a week then alternate boobs then stop. Is this a good idea or am I better to just not give him the morning feed?

MKG · 17/12/2007 14:09

Morning all. On the boob front, I keep saying I'm going to stop and then I don't. But that tooth that came in is helping me to stop though.

Does anyone have an idea for nightmares/night terrors. mateo is going crazy. He slept in our bed for the first time last night. And it's the first time he went to sleep and stayed asleep until the morning for a few weeks. I couldn't even get him to go in his bed. He just kept saying "Mama's bed!" He did break my heart when we were lying together and he hugged me and said, "Best friend".

AChristmasMeadow · 17/12/2007 18:48

MKG, my ds has been having night terrors as well. I dont think that there is anything you can do. I think its a phase (and not a nice one) that they go through. Ds dreams that i come in his bedroom window with a dog (we dont have a dog!).

Been to work this afternoon to cover whilst my bosses and the pa are off for the day. Was quite weird going back, only a few more weeks til i will be back there every day.

Went shopping with dh to choose my xmas present got a beautiful diamond ring, am very lucky

Hope you all had good days x

camerYULEmama · 17/12/2007 21:30

ds1 went through this about a year ago, and there was little I could do but cuddle and reassure, he soon outgrew it.

Diamond ring - ooo lucky girl I just can't decide what I would like.

Pics uploaded.

Abby - is it warm again?

AChristmasMeadow · 17/12/2007 22:23

Love the name Cam! The cake is looks great, when should i expect my piece? J looks so scrummy and you all look so happy.

Dh decided that he wanted to get me a sparkly present as my wedding & engagement rings were uber cheap as we had no pennies when buying them. i dont really know how to describe it other than it has 5 square channel set diamonds either side of a bigger square one that is raised up a bit and had square claw things, but it doesnt catch on things like regular claw settings. And there we have another stunning description by AM! Really need to learn to describe things in a better way

juliewoolie · 18/12/2007 08:54

picture please AM, sounds gorgeous and not atall

J looks delicious, as does his cake.

Boob appear to have shrunk to pre preggo size overnight and did not feel like there was any milk in them. A only had a 2 min suck then came off so I guess thats it?

Off to face the madness that is Bluewater to buy a few last min bits and bobs. Wish me luck I may never return.

AChristmasMeadow · 18/12/2007 09:03

We are still on one feed in the morning. I havent noticed a difference in the boobs as yet. Not sore yesterday or this morning so am thinking its a good thing.

Have uploaded a pic for you JW to my profile

camerYULEmama · 18/12/2007 09:08

Pebblemum · 18/12/2007 15:19

Afternoon

well i have finally finished my Christmas shopping (unless i spot more bargains lol) All Im waiting for is a CD from Amazon. Its been a nightmare trying to wrap them all up, Alana has decided to be a brat for the past week and not go to sleep at night. I will put her down about 8pm, she wakes 30mins later and wont settle, goes back off for about 20mins then wakes again, it goes on like this until about 11.30pm by which time i cant be arsed to get all the wrapping stuff out. She doesnt sleep for very long during the day either so I havent been able to do it while the kids are at school. Ds1 breaks up today and DS2 tomorrow so it will be even harder to find the time. Dh doesnt make it any easier. A few months ago we agreed we wouldnt go too mad on presents this year but everytime we go out he buys more things. The boys were only going to have a few presents this year because we are going to Disney (they are having money to buy things there) but at the last count they had 20 Santa gifts and they arent cheap little things either, I just hope dh realises when they open them all that it was he who bought most of them and not moan at me about how much 'I' spent!!!

Dh did have a great idea today though. next year instead of buying presents for our parents (it gets harder and harder every year to find things for them) we are going to take them out for Christmas dinner, that way no one has to cook/wash up and it should help make things less stressful for everyone.

AM a diamond ring, you lucky lady Ive got quite a few things from dh this year but nothing as fancy as a diamond ring. I also know everything Ive got which is a bit dissapointing, i love suprises, but I suppose it means I wont get anything i dont want. Somehow though a printer doesnt quite have the same effect on me that a diamond ring would have lol.

Wouldnt you believe it, Alana has decided to fall asleep just as im about to go to get ds2 from pre-school, how typical is that, she has been awake all afternoon and dh has just left for work so I have no choice but to disturb her. I bet she makes me pay by be ratty later and not sleeping

AChristmasMeadow · 18/12/2007 15:33

Lups, lovely to see you and Arlen today. I still feel stuffed from all the pizza. Ella stayed asleep all the way home! Lol at you and your buggies, and thank you for the gorgeous shoes for BellyBoo, dh thinks they are lovely. and also for the yummy chox

LG&T, damn you guessed my secret job Pleased you got some form of contact from SOH. Jack is very pleased with the gingerbrad house and makes all visitors go and have a look.

I also managed to get Kylie tickets for 2nd Aug..... must go text JW and let her know that theya re still on sale.

Hi all. Thanks for all your concerns re the heating, illness and party!
Fil came round and had a fiddle with the heating and it is ok again at the mo. We have now joined one of those insurance thingies in case it goes again.
C's party went really, really well. I can't believe it went without a hitch. C had a great time racing around with all his friends and everyone was very complementary about the cake!
As for me I STILL have pharyngitis. It is really, really nasty and I never want it again. It has been almost a week now and I know I'm ill because I'm not going on the work meal tonight. I just don't feel up to it.
C has been ill (again). He fell asleep on grandad's knee at the end of the party and slept for about 15 hours but I just thought he was tired. Yesterday I got a call from the cm to say he had got conjunctivitis so dh picked him and got some drops. He was also a bit under the weather but seemed fine this morning. Now today he was in the throes of a Christmas party when he was sick. It wasn't from too much party food as he's only eaten one sausage! Luckily the party was at the toddler group at my school so I was able to take him straight home. I think he is ok though. I think he's just really run down and ready for a break. I suppose going to a very active cm full time is a bit like working full time really, he gets very worn out. I'm really hoping he's going to be ok tomorrow as it's his birthday bless him. At the mo he is on the settee watching Mr Maker and is tucking into a piece of birthday cake. Ok, I know, not the best thing for a boy who has been sick but I am sure he does not have a bug!

largevirginbirthandtonic · 18/12/2007 17:12

Oh no TYG, could have just got delayed in the ferfuffle of Xmas cards? May turn up yet.

I have mine wrapped now but not sent yet, will go first thing in the morning and post it with the Xmas cards. Am so bad.

Have dd's carol service this eve, she is Mary! Will take pics to show you all

barelymorethantwelvemonthgap · 18/12/2007 17:42

Awh, how cute for S. Fingers crossed the santa gift shows up.

Have ALMOST done my Christmas shopping. Was in the West End on Sunday for a few hours (with S), then all day yesterday (with the baby!). Was too tired to do anything today, so have managed to get another lot online. Phew.

Just some bits and bobs to get now. Am going to wrap a lot of it tonight, and bag up all the stuff ready for when I find some cheap Christmas stockings for everyone.

That should show up if I've missed anything.
